What is anxiety ?

So, let’s first know what anxiety is? This is really important to know what anxiety actually means, because there are many who are suffering from it, but are not even aware of it.

Anxiety in simple sense means having worry, fear in some stressful or tensed situation, which is normal. But when somebody experiences it on a daily basis in an intense and excessive manner on small-small things, is actually suffering from anxiety disorder. And this is a very severe disorder to the extent that people are not able to overcome it and end up taking their lives.

Cause

The main causes of anxiety disorder are:

  • Not Living in Present : the first and in most of the cases it is caused to youngsters because of the uncertainty and worry about their future. Their worry rises day by day, and it grows to become a disorder.
  • Expectations: the other cause is worry of not being up to the mark of their expectations or having over-expectations.
  • Results : worry about result is another cause.
  • Thinking negative : what ever they think they are always seeing it negatively.
  • Overthinking : another main cause is overthinking. They keep on thinking about one thing and their mind goes on to think of other related things with it. And ultimately they go into so much deep thinking that they themselves don’t realize.
  • Hopelessness : they become hopeless and think they are of no worth to the world.
  • Being altruistic : it simply means always thinking what others or the world would think about them, which makes them more nervous.

These we some of the causes their might be other reasons too. But now we should look at the solution, because for every problem their is a solutions as every night has a day.

Solutions

  • Start to Live in Present : the first and foremost thing is to start living in the present. Don’t worry about the future as that is not in your hand; what you have is the present just live in the present.
  • Stop Expecting: the other thing is that do not expect anything from time(future) or anyone, because you are disheartened only when you have expection. When you do not expect anything, then whatever you get you are satisfied with it.
  • Don’t worry about results : Stop worring about results as it is not in your hand, just leave it ot God, everything will be fine. You just do your work and don’t worry about the result (hindi saying : karm Kar phal ki chinta mat kar).
  • Think positively : try to be positive as being negative never helps. And just think it yourself as even if you are negative what ever the destiny has decided it will happen. Just keep one thing in your mind whatever happens happens for good (joh hota hai achhe ke liye hota hai).
  • Do Yoga : the one of the most effective way to calm your mind is doing Yoga. By doing yoga you to try to make balance between your mind and body. Try to meditate. Whenever any negative thoughts comes to your mind just stop, what ever you are doing and do simple yoga. Watch videos on internet. Try to divert your mind.
  • Don’t worry about what people think : just keep in mind that, whatever you do, you do it for yourself and not to get somebody’s remark or happiness, it’s for you. Just do whatever you like, don’t let them affect you as it’s not worth it because they have no importance in your life.
  • Stop overthinking : when every you realize that you are getting trapped in your endless thinking, just keep everything aside and immediately stop thinking, just take two deep breath and try to relax yourself. And try to remember all the above points, you will feel relaxed.

OUR COMMON ENEMY

Us humans have a common enemy , that is fear . A human is born with just 2 fears – the fear of heights and fear of loud noises , and all the other fears are developed over the years . A normal amount of fear is good , it acts as a driving force and pushes you to do your best , but an abnormal amount of fear can be harmful as it prevents you from moving forward . There are ways to overcome these fears , here’s how :

IDENTIFY YOUR FEARS – The most important part of overcoming fear is actually identifying them . Knowing what exactly is causing so much fear helps you in becoming more aware about it . Once you know the root cause of your fears , it will be easy confronting it . Write down about in and sit with it for a while . Once have identified and being familiarised with your fear , you will be one step closer to overcoming and mastering your fear.

USE YOUR POWER OF IMAGINATION – When in a state of fear , we use our imagination to visualise the worst possible outcomes which inevitably leads to us being pushed deep into the labyrinth of negative thoughts . Instead of visualising the worst that can happen , try visualising the best possible outcome . This can help you resort to a state of calmness and prevent panicking .

FEAR CAN BE YOUR MOTIVATOR – Fear is actually your biggest motivator as it does not let you be in a state of complacency . Its the excess fear that is harmful . Your fear can actually lead you to the exact path you are supposed to be in. Stop viewing fear as a threat , view it as your guide that helps you in your life journey . Changing your mindset can really be beneficial .

NO MORE WHAT IFs – We humans have a tendency of complicating our lives by thinking about alternative outcomes. We have this ‘what if?’ question in our head , what if i lose ? what if this turns out to be horrible ? what if i fail? what if i hadn’t taken that step ? . Stop doing that , it’s not helping as what’s done is done , and we can never predict the future . So refrain from asking the what ifs as it gives fear more space in your head . Just let it be , let it go , just take action.

TALK TO SOMEONE – Talking about your fears with a friend , your parents or anyone in general can mitigate it and help you relax a bit . Ask for help if you need and discuss about your fears. It is very helpful as it helps you rationalise your fears and prevent it from spiralling out .

Master your fear , don’t let it have control over you .

How to overcome writer’s block

Ever felt overwhelmed and stuck in the writing process without being able to move forward and write new things? Staring at a blank page for a long, long time, struggling to find words to pen down, can make you feel frustrated – but know that you are not alone – any writer – faces a writer’s block – in which the writer is unable to produce new work. There might be a creative slowdown as well. This creative hiccup is not the commitment issues or lacking writing skills, it is just the inability of an author to compose new, original material. It’s typically said as artistic constipation. Frustration, fear, anger, dread, and different robust emotions typically accompany it.

“Writer’s block is almost like the equivalent of impotence. It’s performance pressure you put on yourself that keeps you from doing something you naturally should be able to do…The reason you don’t get writer’s block as a writer is because you have a deadline. It has to be in. You have no choice. But, if you sit there, and you think, “This piece has to be the ultimate article, the ultimate book ever written; my entire selfish being is wrapped up in this; and, this is me.” – The bigger of a story you make up about what you are doing, the bigger the block will get. It has nothing to do with the talent of writing or the skill of writing. It’s completely performance anxiety.” — Neil Strauss

Writer’s block is triggered by a variety of things, reckoning on the individual. Some individuals believe that writer’s block stems from an absence of ideas or perhaps talent. However, that’s typically not the case.

Self-doubt is really an enormous part of writer’s block. Triggers and causes of writer’s block include:

1. Apathy – These writers are bound by the rules and are unable to see the creative side of it.

2. Anger – These writers cannot take criticism and cannot stand it when their work goes unnoticed.

3. Anxiety – These writers are overthinkers and are always worried whether their work is good enough or not. They often are unable to believe in themselves.

4. Issues with others – These writers hate being compared to other writers.

5. Distractions – These writers get distracted and it becomes incredibly hard to concentrate on writing for them.

6. Physical illness – These writers may have faced a physical illness because of which they are unable to write.

7. Bills piling up – Bills can definitely trigger anyone, and it piling up means stress piling up which leads to a lack of focus on writing.

8. Procrastination – Tomorrow never comes, and these writers are unable to do the task at hand as soon as they should have.

9. Intimidation – Some writers also get extremely overwhelmed and intimidated by the amount of work needed to be done.

Overcoming writer’s block could be a delicate process that’s usually extremely subjective and depends on the individual itself. But, at the end of the day, it is about overcoming self-doubt and knowing that your hard work will pay off. To help overcome writer’s block, try these ideas:

1. Read

Reading is a decent cure for writer’s block. You will gain inspiration when you check out another writer’s work whether it is your favorite writer or someone new. Reading motivates you to keep the creative juices flowing.
Reading different styles and voices that have nourished generations of creatives gives you in-depth knowledge and experience. Writer’s block indeed gloms onto the idle, not the well-read.

2. Take a break

Writing can be exhausting sometimes and it is best to take a break in such a case. If you are intimidated, the best thing you could do is to take a break and start afresh after that.

3. Jump ahead

Slow progress is progress too, and you should jump ahead of what is intimidating you.

4. Just write

Do the opposite of writer’s block – Write – you can always edit your work by coming back to it. Even if you temporarily copy words from a source, it can fuel you into writing again. Practice and train your mind to just write as even if it is unusable, you eventually overcome that block.

5. Pretend that you have never read your work before

Read your work from the beginning with an open mind.

6. Do something else

Going for a walk, or staying calm for a while can make you inclined towards writing.

7. Create a deadline for yourself

This shall help you overcome procrastination.

8. Make your process more visual

Making your process of writing visual can definitely help you in getting more motivated to write.

9. Do something mundane

10. Freewrite

Write without pausing to worry about sentence structure, grammar, spelling, or whether or not something makes sense or not. Just write while not second-guessing something. While most of it’ll be unusable, it is a nice way to break through the block.

11. Pomodoro technique

Decide on what you would like to write. Set a timer for 25 minutes and write until the timer rings. Finally, take a five-minute break and repeat as much as you can.

These are some ways you can overcome writer’s block. A writer’s block can be very difficult to overcome but once you do it, there is no going back.
