EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE

The term emotional intelligence was termed by Michel Beldoch in 1964. The term means “it’s the capacity and ability to understand and manage your own emotions in a positive manner. People with high emotional intelligence are well adjusted individual as their emotions are in tune, they can co-up with their stress and panic and are able to handle the situation in an appropriate way. As a result they are able to com up with proper solution in a crucial situation.

Emotional intelligence have five components;

1) Self awareness: It’s an ability to perceive and understand your own emotions. A well adjusted individual is aware of their emotions; like their strength and weakness?

2) Self regulation: It’s controlling the expression of our emotions, an ability to express ourselves appropriately at right place and time; like controlling your laughter when some one can feel bad at.

3) Self motivation: It’s one’s motivation to change , you are setting an aim to achieve it and u are determined to do it; liked getting succeed in your career.

4) Empathy: It’s an emotion of putting yourself into someone’s else shoes. Understanding their situation and their point of view and feeling their pain; like helping a helpless person keeping your biases aside?

5) Social skills: It’s an ability to interact well with others which includes active communication, leadership skills and many more.

KANGAROO ๐Ÿฆ˜

“I love performing for kids, but you can’t play down to them, of course. Then it would be ‘Captain Kangaroo”

~ Rita Moreno

Kangaroos are large marsupials that are found only in Australia. They are identified by their muscular tails, strong back legs, large feet, short fur and long, pointed ears. Like all marsupials, a sub-type of mammal, females have pouches that contain mammary glands, where their young live until they are old enough to emerge.

Kangaroos are in the Macropodidae family, which also includes tree-kangaroos, wallabies, wallaroos, quokkas and pademelons. When people think of kangaroos, the four species that typically come to mind are in the genus Macropus: the antilopine kangaroo, the red kangaroo, the western gray kangaroo and the eastern gray kangaroo. They are sometimes referred to as the “great kangaroos” because these species are much larger than other kangaroos.

However, there are 12 species of tree-kangaroos in theย Dendrolagus ย genus, according to the Integrated Taxonomic Information System. And,ย bettongs, in the Potoridae family, are called rat-kangaroos. ย

Size

The largest kangaroo, as well as the largest marsupial, is the red kangaroo, according to National Geographic. The length from the red kangaroo’s head to its rump is 3.25 to 5.25 feet (1 to 1.6 meters) long. Its tail adds another 35.5 to 43.5 inches (90 to 110 centimeters) to its length and its entire body weighs around 200 lbs. (90 kilograms).

The smallest kangaroo is theย musky rat-kangaroos. It is only 6 to 8 inches (15.24 to 20.32 cm) long and weighs only 12 ounces (340 grams). Its ratlike tail adds another 5 to 6 inches (12.7 to 15.24 cm) to its length.

Habitat

Most kangaroos live on the continent of Australia, though each species has a different place it likes to call home. For example, the musky rat-kangaroo likes to nestle down in little nests on the floor of the rainforests in northeastern Queensland. Gray kangaroos like the forests of Australia and Tasmania, on the other hand. Theย  antilopine kangaroo ย can be found in the monsoonal eucalyptus woodlands of extreme northern Australia. Tree-kangaroos live in the upper branches of trees in the rainforests of Queensland, as well as on the island of New Guinea.ย

Habits

Kangaroos are the only large animals that hop as a primary means of locomotion. Their springy hind legs and feet are much stronger and larger than their arms (or “forelimbs”). According to the San Diego Zoo, kangaroos can cover 15 feet (7 m) in a single hop and can hop as fast as 30 mph (48 kph). Usually, 20 mph (32 kph) is considered their cruising speed. When feeding, kangaroos use a slower, walking movement, and for that they use their muscular tail as a kind of fifth leg, pushing off the ground as they move along.

Kangaroos are social and live in groups called a mob, a herd or a troop. Kangaroos in a mob will groom each other and protect each other from danger. If a kangaroo suspects there is danger in the area, it will stomp its foot on the ground to alert others. If it comes to blows, a kangaroo will box and kick its opponent.

Diet

Kangaroos are herbivores. They eat grasses, flowers, leaves, ferns, moss and even insects. Like cows, kangaroos regurgitate their food and re-chew it before it is ready to be totally digested.

Offspring

Probably the best-known fact about kangaroos is that they carry their young in a pouch. A female kangaroo is pregnant for 21 to 38 days, and she can give birth to up to four offspring at one time,  though this is unusual.

At birth, the baby, called a joey, can be as small as a grain of rice, or as big as a bee, at 0.2 to 0.9 inches (5 to 25 millimeters), according to the san Diego zoo. When the joey is born, it is guided safely into the comfy pouch, where it gestates for another 120 to 450 days.

Inside the pouch, the joey is protected and can feed by nursing from its mother’s nipples. Joeys urinate and defecate in the mother’s pouch. The lining of the pouch absorbs some of the mess, but occasionally the mother will need to clean it out, which she does by inserting her long snout into the pouch and using her tongue to remove the contents. A young joey will remain attached to a nipple while the mother does this, but any older ones will be temporarily kicked out.

Another interesting fact about the mother kangaroo is that she is able to suckle two joeys at different developmental stages at the same time with milk that has different nutritional content, the New York Times has reported.

Joeys grow quickly, though, and at 14 to 20 months for females or 2 to 4 years for males, they will be fully matured.

Kangaroo ancestors

There is a rich fossil record for kangaroo ancestors and ancient relatives; giant kangaroos plodded through the Pleistocene (2.6 million to 11,700 years ago) and the Pliocene (5.3 million to 2.6 million years ago). And about 20 million years ago, tiny ancestors of modern kangaroos and a related group of kangaroos with fangs scurried through dense forests in northwestern Queensland, Australia, a region that is now arid outback.

In a study published in February 2016,ย scientists described a new kangaroo genus,ย Cookeroo,ย and two new species:ย Cookeroo bulwidarri,ย dated to about 23 million years ago, andย Cookeroo hortusensis,ย which lived between 18 million and 20 million years ago.ย These ancient kangaroos’ bodies probably measured about 17 to 20 inches (42 to 52 centimeters) long.ย C. bulwidarriย andย C. hortusensisย didn’t hop, navigating their forest home on all fours and sharing it with a diverse collection of animals: marsupial moles, feather-tailed possums, ancient koalas and crocodiles.

Conservation status

According to the IUCN’s Red List of Threatened Species, 16 species of tree-kangaroos and rat-kangaroos are listed as either near threatened, threatened, vulnerable, endangered or critically endangered. The desert rat- kangaroo  and the Nullarbor dwarf bettong are considered extinct. Studies show that global warming could kill off the world’s smallest  kangaroo. The four species of great kangaroos are not endangered.

Myths of Meditation

With meditation practices on the rise, it makes sense that there is some confusion out there. Myths and misinformation are to be expected — but that doesn’t mean we can’t do our best to set the record straight. Let’s go through the following myths and their conclusions.

ยคMyth: You can’t meditate because you think too much.

Everyone thinks too much. But it’s often the people who say they “think too much to meditate” who could really benefit from giving the practice a try. Thinking is a natural and expected part of meditation. Some practices will give you tools for how to redirect your thoughts back to your meditation and others will simply say it’s fine that you’re off thinking. This is all a part of the experience. The practice of meditation is about tuning in — not tuning out.

Some believe that by choosing to redirect your thoughts to a single point of focus you are actually strengthening the muscle that build your brain. This can teach you to react less to stress triggers throughout the day and leave you feeling calmer than before you learned to meditate.

ยคMyth: You can’t meditate because you can’t sit still.

For those who struggle with sitting still during meditation, good news! Moving around is totally fine — you can readjust your position, scratch an itch or just stretch your legs out in the middle of your practice. You do not have to be a statue. If you’re in a group class, try to do this quietly so you don’t disrupt other meditators.

For those who need more movement than this, you can try walking meditation. Traditionally, meditation can be practiced in four positions: sitting, standing, walking and lying down. So don’t get down on yourself if you don’t like sitting. Try other methods and find what feels most natural for your body.

We all are busy. If Oprah, Kobe Bryant, Arianna Huffington and Rupert Murdoch have time to meditate, you probably do too. Meditating in the morning makes your whole day go slower and many people say they actually get more done and feel more productive after meditation. Because meditation helps improve focus and lowers stress, you actually can fit more in if you take the time out to practice.

If committing to 20 a day minutes feels daunting, there are many practices that require only five or 10 minutes. The key is to start small and build up so you don’t get discouraged and skip it all together. Even a seasoned meditator knows that some days get away from you and all you can fit in is 5 minutes. This is always better than nothing.

ยคMyth: You can’t meditate because you don’t know if you’re doing it right.

The only wrong or bad meditation is the one you don’t do at all. Meditation is pretty simple. You focus on one thing. Depending on the practice, that can be your breath, a mantra, a candle flame or even counting numbers. When you notice that your mind has drifted off, you simply come back to the thing your meditation is focused on.

ยคMyth: You’re not supposed to have any thoughts while you meditate.

This idea is simply not true and it can also be a big hindrance to people meditating. If you think you’re doing it wrong, it’s easy to just give up and walk away. Deepak Chopra, a meditation expert and founder of the Chopra Center for Wellbeing, puts it best: “the nature of the mind to move from one thought to another is in fact the very basis of meditation,” he says.

“We donโ€™t eliminate the tendency of the mind to jump from one thought to another. Thatโ€™s not possible anyway.” Depending on the type of meditation you learn, there are tools for gently bringing your focus back to your meditation practice. Alternatively, some types of meditation actually emphasize being present and mindful to thoughts as they arise as part of the practice.

ยคMyth: Meditation has to be religious or spiritual

There is a distinct difference between meditation and religion. While many meditation practices drew it roots from Buddhism and Hinduism, today there are modern forms of meditation that have nothing to do with religion at all. Many religious groups practice meditation, and the intersection between prayer and meditation is quite interesting, but it is not necessary to believe in a god or be affiliated with a religion or spiritual group in order to reap the benefits of meditation.

ยคMyth: You must sit in an uncomfortable cross-legged position in order to meditate.

You can sit in any position that is comfortable to you. Most people sit upright in a chair or on a cushion. Some people like to sit in a great big armchair or a sturdy kitchen chair. You can also sit upright in bed with pillows propped at your sides. The possibilities are endless. It is best not to lie down unless youโ€™re doing a body scan meditation or meditation for sleep.

ยคMyth: Meditation is only for stressed out people.

While meditation helps lower the presence of coristol, the stress hormone, in our bodies, there are many other benefits of the practice. Meditation helps boost our immune systems, improves concentration, decreases blood pressure, improves sleep, increases our feelings of happiness, and has even helped people with alcohol or smoking addictions. Even for those who don’t have a specific ailment in mind, meditation is wonderful for overall mental and physical health.

ยคMyth: Meditation is only for adults.

Adults are not the only ones to experience the negative effects of stress. Children, too, suffer from feeling overwhelmed and meditation is one way parents are helping their kids learn to manage stress. Schools have even started to discuss whether meditation is a life-long skill that should be taught in classrooms. Schools that tried it out found that students were less stressed and performed higher on tests. The overall feeling in classrooms was more positive and teachers reported their own moods improving.

ยคMyth: You have to be given a mantra to meditate.

Mantra-based meditation is only one form of meditation. Transcendental Meditation (made popular by people like Oprah, Jerry Seinfeld and Howard Stern) uses a mantra but many mindfulness-based meditation practices don’t. Think of a mantra as just one vehicle or tool people use to get into their meditation practice. There are many other tools like counting, being mindful of what you hear around you and even simply paying attention to your breath.

ยคMyth: Meditation is for the rich or the elite.

Meditation is having a moment right now and we love that. But the ancient practice is not only for hip tech CEOs or a pet cause for the wealthy with time to spare. The beauty of meditation is that it’s free and you can do it anywhere, anytime. All you need is your mind.

ยคMyth: Meditation takes years to learn.

While the Dalai Lama says that meditation can change your life, he has also been practicing for most of his life. Fear not. You can actually learn in minutes. We don’t deny that like any skill or exercise, the more you do it, the more you learn. But you don’t need months or years to perfect your meditation. The very notion of perfection is counter productive. Here are five different ways you can get started. Pick one (or search the web for many others) and give it a try.

HEALTH IS WEALTH !!

A healthy mind lives in healthy body. Mind is rather the battery of the physical mechanism of human beings. It decides all the activities of man good or bad. But it requires healthy adobe. It is only them that fortune smiles at man and fills his coffers with wealth material or spiritual.

Need for healthy state – There is a saying in Ayurveda “it is through his body that man performs all his rightful duties “. He can do it only when the body remains in a perfect healthy state. Thus, for an individual is the real wealth. By this wealth one can achieve anything. This can be noticed after the pandemic also that immunity is the thing which is essential to fight a disease or a virus.

Unhealthy man is like cadaver – An unhealthy man loses all that he possesses. He faces a battery of greedy physician who may be having an eye more on his pocket than in his well being. An unhealthy man grows desperate. His mind too grows sick and he is in the jaws of paralytic attack both materially and mentally. Death alone may bring solace to him make him free from frustrations. A healthy man has a rich orchard of the fruits of hope, peace, satisfaction and prominence -the real wealth.

Man has rationale – Man is a rational animal. His superior mind. In fact, Man has been able to control nature due to his highly developed brain. It is all true but for the development of the intellect, it is necessary that the body too, should be healthy. A sound mind in a sound body is an often quoted saying. So it is apparent that for intellectual development physical exercise is essential.

At last we can understand that healthy body is the key to success . So we should consider health as our first priority and then our work. During the pandemic situation, yoga classes focused on the health conditions of the people and involved them to join for their benefit and better standard of living.

Planning For Success

Here are some general start-up tips for a successful home business.

The first tip is a word of caution. Itโ€™s easy to think that because your home business can bypass the lease or construction aspects of starting a business, and the overhead costs of furnishing, maintenance, landscaping, utilities and so forth, that you can skip over some other processes to. That attitude, rather than heading someone down the road to a successful home business, could lead to financial business disaster.

An entrepreneurial spirit and a great idea are terrific assets for a successful home business. Other things are important too, however.

Market research and careful planning are of paramount important to the success of a home business, as they are for any business. A business plan is a must. It must include details on the products and services the firm will offer, the type of business equipment and the cost of it that will be needed in the coming five years. It should also include information on the competition in the designated market area. This information should include ways that the new home business will be successful in competing โ€“ how it is unique and how it is an improvement over what else is out there in the same industry.

A successful home business is one that is set up as the right legal entity. One of the first things new home based entrepreneurs should do is learn the legal consequences and liabilities of the various business types, as well as the tax consequences of each. A home business might be more successful as a partnership than sole proprietorship, for example, if additional cash flow is needed, or the entrepreneur is deficient in a crucial home business skill such as advertising, marketing or accounting, for example. An accountant can advise on the various options such as limited liability corporations, S corporations, standard corporations, limited partnerships and so forth.

Unless a successful home business is going to include walk in customers homeownerโ€™s or renters insurance should provide adequate financial protection against theft or natural disaster. Of course, as equipment and furnishings are added, the insurance would need to increase. If clients were to come to the home office location, liability insurance would protect the firm from the financial devastating situation of customer injury.

A successful home business is one that is well planned and well funded. There is no such thing as too much preparation.

“What’s discipline? “

By reading the title name you will wonder that such a common topic it is but after reading till the end you will notice that the most common topic is ignored everywhere where it should not. Discipline means orderly life, without discipline we can’t live. We need be guided by rules at certain times. Discipline is the backbone of the nation. Only those nations where people have a discipline prosper in all fields. They even rule other nations. Discipline is a valuable asset at all levels of society.

Discipline and third world countries – Indiscipline has become a trait in the Third World countries like India, Pakistan, most of the African and Latin American countries. In India the indiscipline is seen in the legislative assemblies and parliament during the session. MP’s cross their limits in the parliament sometimes which is very sadful to watch. They are law making bodies but these law making bodies are the most undisciplined bodies. The indiscipline of political leaders is reflected in the whole nation and as a result it doesn’t progress.

Discipline and European countries – Discipline is seen in most of the European countries (and in Japan and Israel). That is why these countries make progress. Discipline is born of a sense of responsibility among the people. The people in developed countries know their obligation to the nation. This results in discipline in every field and the country progresses with the people, for the people .

Need to learn discipline – Discipline has to be learnt at every walk of life. Childhood is the best period for it. The young mind learns things quickly and easily. At school, the students are taught to behave well. They are taught to respect their elders. In sports also we are taught to follow the rules of the it. So the student days are the most formative period in which the value of discipline can be learnt.

In fact, discipline is a good thing. It builds character. It develops strength and unity. It creates sense of cooperation. So discipline must be taught from the very childhood. It is a key to success in life. The higher is the sense of discipline, the better it is for the people and the country. That was all for this article.

Indian Education System

India produces more engineers than the total population of Switzerland, even after that Switzerland is number one when it comes to research and innovation. Since our independence, India has not produced a Nobel laureate in science, whereas the USA has produced a hundred plus. According to the National Employability Report of 2019, 80% of the engineers in India are unemployable. And if we want to look for the root cause of this problem then we have to go back to the time Britishers were ruling us and The East India Company was facing 2 major challenges- 1. Communication with Indians. 2. They needed more workers; then Thomas Babington Macaulay gave us the โ€œEnglish Education Act of 1835โ€. It fulfilled both their purposes- of finding people who would sit behind desks and work for them without asking questions, and the other was communication in Englishโ€ฆ

โ€œTitanicโ€

The word โ€œTitanicโ€ still gives goosebumps, that tragic event that happened back in 1912, still has a mesmerising mystery of getting sinked till now. It all was happened on April 10, 1912; theย Titanicย was sailing for New York from Southampton. At that time, she was one of the largest ship in the world built in a very unique & special way. So she was regarded as unsinkable and unbreakable. At that moment, the Titanic was sailing across the icy waters of the North Atlantic. She was carrying for approx 1300 passengers and a crew of 900. Four days after setting out, a great disaster happened. At one moment a huge iceberg was spotted very close to the ship. The great ship turned sharply to avoid a collision. Suddenly there was a slight trembling sound from below. The alarm had been given. The captain went down to see what had happened. Five of the ships, sixteen watertight compartments were totally damaged by the collision. So the captain realized to his horror that the Titanic was sinking rapidly. It is simply understandable that, through more communication, increased security procedures, and enhanced structure, the horrifying tragedy of the Titanic could have been prevented from incident altogether. Titanic incident has displayed in countless books, articles, and films, and her story has entered public awareness.

Some facts of TITANIC are-

  1. A specific bacteria is slowly consuming the wreckage. What remains of the Titanic at the bottom of the ocean will eventually be entirely eaten away by a rust-eating bacteria. This microorganism, can adhere to steel surfaces and forms the rusticles.
  2. Some 100,000 people attended the ship’s launch the first time the immense White Star liner made its way into the water was in May 1911. It’s estimated that 100,000 people, or roughly one-third of the population in Belfast watched the just-over-a-minute-long launch.
  3. The ship was just under 900 feet long. The Titanic measured 882 feet and 9 inches in length, making it the biggest vessel of its time. Today, the largest cruise ship is Royal Caribbean’s Symphony of the Seas, clocking in at nearly 1,200 feet long.
  4. The ship burned an estimated 825 tons of coal per day. The Titanic was far from a light craft, weighing some 46,000 tons. Titanic has burned a reported 825 tons of coal per day in 159 furnaces that heated 29 boilers.
  5. Only 23 of the 908 crew on board were female. Of the 23 female crew members, only three did not survive the collision. Of the 885 male crew members, a tragic 693 went down with the ship.
  6. The temperature of the sea water was below freezing when the ship sank. A ship that was near the Titanic when it sank — water temperatures were as cold as 28 degrees Fahrenheit. The human body can survive up to 45 minutes in freezing water.
  7. The Titanic was able to carry 64 lifeboats but only carried 20. Many of the lifeboats that were launched from the Titanic did not pack as many patrons as they could have held.
  1. Two young brothers survived the ship without a guardian. Edmond and Michel Navratil went down in history as the only children to survive the Titanic without a parent. They were two years apart in age and were nicknamed the “Titanic Orphans.” Their father, Michel Sr., kidnapped them from their mother, whom he was no longer with, and planned to take them to America. The last anyone saw of him was when he put his children in a lifeboat.

โ€œHow Does it feels to be a Single Childโ€

Childhood is the phase of life where our heart & soul truly resides. The time span of childhood is always precious, indescribable, tension- free and THE BEST. The time we spent in our childhood can never be compared to any phase of our life. Childhood is something which we will cherish for the rest of our life, it is probably the best time we all had in our whole life span. For some children, it might be a scary one also, but the things we learned and did in our childhood are absolutely unforgettable and always has a special place in our heart. Everyone has a different childhood, so I can only relay what it was like for me growing up as a single child. Being a single child consists of mixed emotions,at one point of time you enjoy being a single child, but when you become an adult , when you have so many things going on in your mind, when you literally want your person to listen to your feelings and the things that are going on, it hits you when you realise that you are all alone in this and thereโ€™s no one to listen and it literally breaks your heart. It is the only time where every single child might have felt the need of a sibling. Being a single child is never ever easy, spending the childhood all alone has mad a habit of being alone, and to be in your own little world. Having no siblings definitely affects the childhood and the adulthood of the person.

The phase of a childhood – where a small kid needs someone to play with, to share things with, to fight with, to make lifetime memories with, to get clicked doing some stupid stuff and later cherishing them, to care, to fight for the chocolate and what not.. but having no siblings means no one to play with or to do any of these things with, which completely affects the childhood of the person, it made the person to live alone, to entertain himself or herself, to play alone, to eat alone without any fight, to do every thing which developed a habit of being alone. Being alone is something very terrible, but for all the single child out there it has become a part of life for us, where for some children being alone is something very terrible for them, but for us, being lonely, soothes us and has become our comfort zone now. At some point we might have cried for being alone or having no siblings, but later when we learned to live alone, to play alone it become a part of our daily life, a part of our personality. In the adulthood phase, the need of having atleast one sibling hits the most, specially when you have no one to discuss your personal issues, trauma and fears. Though we cannot share everything with our parents. We literally need our person who has the same genes, same thought process. Adulthood is the phase where we face a lot of rejections , heartbreaks, we lose friends, denials and it is the age where we might lose one of our parent, the need of a sibling can be truly felt here only, when thereโ€™s no one to discuss your inner feelings or someone to guide you for the future, to atleast gives you a surety that, โ€œeverything will be alrightโ€, that ,โ€œIโ€™m hereโ€ but then it hits you that you are all alone in this, that only youโ€™ve got some serious responsibilities of your parents of their future and that you are all alone in this, you become hopeless and helpless when thereโ€™s no one to share about whatโ€™s going inside, whatโ€™s eating you. No one who knows you completely, who knows your innermost fear and insecurities. It is the time where you feel the need of having a sibling the most, but all you can do is nothing, you have to be strong in this, you have to feel comfortable in being alone, you have to do all the things alone. This is the time where a personโ€™s heart breaks inside. Being a single child is never too easy, it is something we have to adjust in, to get comfortable in. Afterall, itโ€™s not at all easy to spend your childhood all alone while seeing your friends having fun with their siblings, it something that hits you from inside. Being a single child means being all alone since the day you born without any sibling, being alone is something that made the child a bit mature than when the child is assumed to be.

I learned very early on how to entertain myself.I’m often asked if I was lonely growing up without siblings. I really wasn’t. Without siblings around to play with, I was forced to figure out ways to entertain myself. As a young child I enjoyed building things, usually with LEGOs and many other things like that. I also liked to draw, even though I was never particularly good at it. As I got older, I became very interested in computers, which became something that could infinitely satiate my desire to build and learn.

I was very curious about why I didn’t have a brother or sister.ย Growing up, all of the kids in my neighborhood had siblings and that confused me. I remember asking my parents why I didn’t have a brother or sister and them more or less saying that the reason I didn’t have a sibling is simply because I just didn’t have a sibling. One time after seeing a TV show about long-lost siblings reunited, I became obsessed with the idea and questioned my mom for a while about the possibility of me having a long-lost twin. At the time, I was confused how she could be so sure that I didn’t.

I never had to fight for my parents’ attention.ย I never felt like I was competing with anyone or anything for my parents’ attention. Whenever I needed to or wanted to talk about something, I had an attentive parent. As a result, I was always fully supported in my major interests. My mother and father has done their best to make me comfortable of doing everything alone. Instead of a sibling, my father used to eat the food made up of the paper from my kitchen set, he never complained and he literally enjoyed eating paper just for me. Both of them made my childhood easier and funnier, they both has also played the role of a sibling that I always needed.

My parents were often over-protective.ย From what I’ve observed, later siblings usually get more leeway than older siblings do. Parents, after the first few times around, figure out what children can actually handle at what ages and aren’t as scared to let them make mistakes. My parents weren’t terribly strict, but they often worried about me making mistakes, not because I was irresponsible or untrustworthy, but simply becauseย I was the only child.

I like attention and want my accomplishments to be recognized.ย Growing up, every little thing I accomplished was celebrated, no matter how trivial. Moreover, I often listened to my parents bragging about how I accomplished this or that or the other thing to anyone who would listen. Now, like a stereotypical only child, I feel a need for my accomplishments to be called out and recognized for their importance.

I grew up always in my head.ย I had a lot of alone time, which meant I had a lot of time to think about everything, with no one around to distract me from it. I was (and still am) always in my head. I analyzed and over-thought everything. I was often in a state of worry. I had a lot of trouble sleeping as a teenager, because I was unable to turn off my thoughts and get into a restful place.

โ€œ Movie Review : SHERSHAAHโ€

Undoubtedly Shershaah is one of the best patriotic film ever. I watched it about 5-7 days ago and Iโ€™m still cannot get over how true, surreal, no unwanted filter, simple and heartfelt this movie is! The efforts, sweats, love for the nation, a surreal cute love story, martyrdom that has been witnessed in this movie is just speechless. It is truly the best ever patriotic film ever, it has portrayed that how the soldiers literally die for our Country ( with a happy smiling face and with no regrets- this is so so so huge), how they protects us from the enemies, how they doesnโ€™t even think about their own families, their parents who gave birth to them and they literally always there,to give their life for the country, for the sake and love for the nation. Itโ€™s something indescribable and very very emotional. It is a story about a brave army man whose various sides has been portrayed in this movie.

โ€œCaption Vikram Batraโ€ the person who has won many hearts, who is the inspiration for the youth, who happily gave his life while fighting for the country, who loved a girl truly and completely, who has the passion to serve for the country since his childhood. Itโ€™s a blend of two love stories together. The man who has the passion to serve for the country and on the other side the man who truly, completely, undoubtedly love a girl from his college. This movie has showed different sides of caption Vikram Batra which made us love him and to appreciate him even more. This movie is filled with truckloads of emotions. The efforts of the whole team, crew and the cast of this movie are quite evident and completely worth it. It is never easy to portray a real – life hero who has done so much in his personal life and fir his country. Still, the cast and the crew of this movie has made an effort to portray the whole life span of Captain Vikram Batra which is precisely amazing. This movie is a biopic that you will feel with all your heart, PVC awarded captain Vikram Batra, his personality, his bravery, his supreme sacrifice for the country and his never ending love for his girl will surely bring tears from your eyes. Actor Siddharth Malhotra has portrayed the character of the bravest Army man Captain Vikram Batra, and honestly he was commendable, he has given his best ever performance till now in his acting career and this is totally worth watching. He completely lived the character and totally nailed it. Each and every side of the personality was perfectly portrayed by him. Siddharth has played the role with plenty of efforts and has showed us that how Captian Vikram Batra was literally a solid stone. He portrayed the role of the army man correctly, literally no one in the universe wouldโ€™ve portrayed better than Siddharth Malhotra as Captain Vikram Batra.

He has showed us each and every bit of the life span of Vikram Batra. So truly portrayed the emotions of Captain Vikram Batra that how he was so passionate for fighting for his country, how even for once he didnโ€™t think of sacrificing his life, his girl whom he loved the most and his family just for serving for the country. The famous line that completely give justice about how passionate Captain Vikram Batra was – โ€œ ye dil maange moreโ€ this line is enough to not even doubt on his sweat and his supreme sacrifice. โ€œ ye dil maange moreโ€ vikram Batra always finds the ways to serve for his country, and so he choose this line to exactly show his emotion for the country and how passionate he was to serve for the country, to fight with each and every terrorist. And on the other side, the story of his love life is truly commendable and surreal. Afterall, it is a real love story. The movie has showed the love story of Captain Vikram Batra who falls in love back in his college with a girl named Dimple Cheema. Siddharth Malhotra with the co- actor Kiara Advani both has portrayed the true love of Captian Vikram Batra and Dimple Cheema, that is truly what love is, both has an amazing chemistry which has made us love them more and the surreal love story. It showed how a simple middle class girl and a boy falls in love, the love which has no boundaries. Sid- kiara chemistry felt almost real and had showed the purity of love between Vikram and dimple. If Siddharth was the soul of the movie, then Kiara is the heart of it! their combo was excellent.

Now coming to the battle scenes, songs, cinematography and sound effects, each and every element of this movie is perfect. From loving songs to the battle scenes everything was perfect. Sounds of bullets and bombs were quite often in the second half of the film, which has honestly made me think that I am literally seeing the soldiers fighting for our country from a little distance. The songs are the only element where the heart of the movie โ€œSHERSHAAHโ€ resides. All the songs of the movie, from the romantic song to the last song of the movie where everyone was giving tribute to the Captain Vikram Batra wrapped in the flag. Every song has its own vibe, itโ€™s own emotion. The dialogues of this film was commendable! My favourite was the one,โ€ ya toh tiranga lehraake aaunga ya tirange me lipat ke aaunga, par aaunga zaroorโ€ this dialogue has won many hearts, this dialogue has showed the utmost love for the nation of Captain Vikram Batra. All over the movie is a must watch because apart from the history of it, this movie is genuinely a good one if I judge it in the category of movies in the cinema. Literally kudos to each ever soldier who has sacrificed his life for the nation. Respect and hats off to every soldier up there.

Feminism in India

A feminist is anyone who recognizes the equality and full humanity of women and men.โ€-Gloria SteinemSo, what is feminism? Feminism is an action of the society to bring rights to women and treat them equally regardless of their gender. Feminism is not something that should be endorsed by a woman only ,it can be carried forward by a man too. As said by G.D Anderson,โ€ Feminism isnโ€™t about making women strong, women are already strong, itโ€™s about changing the way the world perceive that strength.โ€ The fact itself is so confusing to understand the imbalance between two genders despite of any human being who is born with the same type of skin and color of blood. A woman deserves the same respect a man has without facing the question about their gender. Needless to say , patriarchy runs deep in our Indian society . A woman is forced to feel weak and small in front of a man and enforced to stay within a certain boundary. The long injustice in the name of gender has led to the topic of  feminism.
The importance of feminism in India is utmost. History has been an evident of feminism culture and its significance. The first and the foremost reason to bring this revolution is to change the mentality and to achieve a society free from male dominance. It has been a long battle for women to fight for their rights even if itโ€™s about their decision. It is sad that till today a girl has to accept a man as her husband without her consent. A married woman is forced to do the household work and do not have the right to have a job hand in hand. Feminism plays an important part in the society because it demands equality among genders. Every year lakhs of female fetus get buried due to the burden of carrying a responsibility and the fear of giving dowry in marriage. Do you know Indian culture also discriminate working profession in regard of gender? Yes, in the past women could only do a job if that is approved by the male society and not judged by her talent. Feminism helps to remove such inequality. Today because people are giving importance to it, women like Mirabai Chanu and Lovlina Borgohain could outshine in their own field. No doubt with different kind of body framework and organs women have to undergo certain changes to meet the reproductive life. Menstruation is a big taboo, where women are considered impure during period cycle. Also there needs to have a stoppage of peoples hindering nature. Needless to say, women sometimes give rise to the inequality they once suffer from. Her mother-in-law force her to behave in a certain way, to cover her face whole life, to dress decently and ultimately it turns to be a social practice in a community. With change in generation and people advancing mindset things are changing and women are getting their rights. Topics like women empowerment, Beti bachao Beti padhao making people aware of the crucial role of a woman in balancing the atmosphere. Now a days, highly restricted states like Haryana is producing Miss world, wrestler like Geeta Phogat and Nirmala Devi. With the hope that one day the country would be free of gender inequality. Thus, people need to carry this journey forward and bring a change where both men and women could walk in the street without having the fear of getting killed or molested as a girl rather with the feeling safety to chase their dreams.

Pros and Cons of E-learning

The emergence of E-learning has been attributed to the COVID-19 epidemic. As a result of this predicament, people have been debating whether e-learning is a good substitute for classroom learning. The COVID-19 has caused schools all across the world to close. Over 1.2 billion youngsters are out of school worldwide. As a result, education has undergone significant transformations, with the rise of e-learning, in which instruction is done remotely and via digital platforms. According to research, online learning increases information retention and takes less time, implying that the alterations created by the coronavirus are here to stay.

Pros of E-Learning

  1. Students are unable to attend school or college due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They continued to learn despite the circumstances. Because of the e-learning option, this was achievable.
  2. Due to a lack of facilities, a few girl children and differently abled youngsters do not attend schools or universities. For them, e-learning is a godsend.
  3. E-learning allows us greater flexibility. We can listen to any class that we miss later.
  4. If students don’t comprehend the principles, they can go over the lecture again.
  5. Teachers can use animations or other technologies to illustrate concepts in e-learning so that students grasp them much better.

Cons of E-Learning

  1. Students will not only learn the subject in the classroom, but will also interact with other students and develop friends. The classroom has an impact on pupils’ entire personality development. Students will be robbed of this possibility as a result of e-learning.
  2. Students’ eyes can become strained as a result of having to look at screens all day.
  3. Teachers may not be able to focus on all of the pupils in e-learning, which will be achievable in the classroom. Teachers may not be aware of whether or not students understand the subject.
  4. The classroom setting is vibrant in nature, however listening to classes on a computer or smartphone will be monotonous.
  5. Even in the twenty-first century, some people do not have access to the internet. As a result, e-learning exacerbates the gap between rich and poor people.
  6. E-learning may not instil the same level of seriousness as traditional classroom instruction. As a result, pupils may be unmotivated to pay attention in class.
  7. Not all parents are digitally savvy enough to assist their children in the event of a problem.Students may become sidetracked if the smartphone has other apps installed, such as YouTube. Several students are already addicted to their smartphones. As a result, parents may be hesitant to leave their children unattended.

E-learning is extremely advantageous for both students and teachers, especially in light of the COVID-19 epidemic. However, it cannot be a long-term substitute for traditional classroom instruction. It’s only meant to be used as a supplement. Furthermore, internet connection should be given to all students so that they can take use of this opportunity.

How to prevent third wave in India

There are various theories on when the third wave will strike. Few people believe that India’s third wave has already begun and will climax in a month or two. According to epidemiologists, the third wave may not be as devastating as the second, depending on how people behave and how many strong variants are developed. Corona’s third wave will occur, but how adversely it will harm us is largely down on our actions. The rate of infectivity will determine the formation of variations. The more the virus replicates, the more likely it is for variations to evolve. From the last week, India has seen an increase in instances of 40,000 per day, with the number of cases rising to 1 lakh per day.

What can we do in India to prevent the third Corona wave?

  1. Vaccinate yourself against Covid-19- Only 40% of the population has received the first dose, and only 8% has received both doses. There’s no purpose in delaying your doses unless you’ve been recommended to do so by your doctor. At the very least, one dose of immunisation should be administered, as this provides only half protection. If you are infected with Covid-19 and do not get vaccinated, you are putting yourself at danger in the future. After immunisation, there is a potential of infection, although it will not be serious. Vaccines are the best defence against a Covid-19 infection and will avoid a third wave of Corona in India, despite several arguments that they are not safe and may cause negative effects. The greater the number of persons who get vaccinated, the better the odds of lowering the infectivity rate.
  2. Traveling should be avoided- Traveling raises the risk of contracting an infection. You come into contact with people from outside your home, and there’s a potential you’ll be exposed to droplets. Avoid travelling as much as possible, and stay away from crowded places, both indoors and out. Even after immunisation, there remains a risk of infection, therefore remaining cautious and following safety precautions is critical. Only leave the house if absolutely essential. The fact that the lockdown has been removed does not imply that we are now free to travel.
  3. Make the decision to work from home- Many offices are reopening for working hours now that some restrictions have been eased in some areas. While offices should be well aired, social distance maintained, and management should limit the number of employees who come to work, it should not be mandatory. Working from home should remain an option. Furthermore, businesses should guarantee that all of their personnel are vaccinated and take steps to do so.
  4. Adhere to the Covid-19 code of conduct- Despite the fact that the Covid-19 vaccine protects you from a serious virus, people can still infect others, especially the most vulnerable. Keep the following points in mind:

a. Children above the age of five should be encouraged to wear masks..

b. When outside the home, a six-foot social distance should always be maintained.

c. Hand sanitization should be done every 5-6 hours or whenever one goes out.

d. Masks should be worn outside the house at all times.

e. Used masks should be washed on a regular basis to avoid opportunistic infections.

Remember that the Covid-19 epidemic is still ongoing. Even if a third Corona wave hits India, it will not be the end. Covid-19 can become endemic, which means it might occur in clusters throughout the year. It is critical to use caution. Consult a general physician if you have any signs of the Covid-19 virus to avoid spreading the infection to vulnerable groups.

LAST DAY OF MY SCHOOL

Have u ever felt anxious about starting a new phase of your life? Leaving the secure portals of your school where you have spent the years of your life? There were your parents, teachers, friends yo have your back , protect your and guide you to tackle your problems; but now you have to leave your comfort zone and venture out in this world to play your part and make a name out of yourself in a play called “LIFE”.

The last day of my school was the last chapter of my memeroable book of my student life, but this time flows away quickly. Let me dedicate a poem(not best, but written with heart) to my school life;

I still remember the last day of my school.

Walking down the memory lane;

My mind was flooded with the departing thoughts,

Constraining back the tear of emotions;

Asking a question why time has to fly?

There was abrupt ache in my heart,

For the longing of the friends I made here.

My ears will be free from this annoying bell!

My school uniform will be kept away,

But still I will miss those wonderful days.

Those days were precious!

The only problem was our homework;

The regular faces which our eyes perceive,

Will be lost in the mist of forthcoming future.

The joy will be gone away with my departing friends.

There will be no argument between the two groups,

My friends will not gather together for a single tiffin.

There will be no discussion at the Rialto.

This valuable moments will be taken away by time.

Cherishing this beautiful moments till my last breath;

The only last wish if I get to make!

To live that dusted away life again.

Another Me

Photo by Frank Cone on Pexels.com

Have you ever thought like me that what if there is another me out there somewhere who might be designing the dress like a designer that I always wanted to choose in this timeline?

We always think of many outcomes when we are going to make a choice or select any path but what if the choices we are not choosing are still being lived through by many of me or youโ€™s out there in the multiverse?

The idea of this phenomenonโ€™s mere possibility has left us humans amazed every time we think of it, isnโ€™t it?

Many researchers and scientists have buckled up their sacks to go to the point of its truth but even though merrier the number we are still lacking in the reality of its virtue.

Are we living in our universe bubble, which could be just a part of many more bubbles out there?

Universe, if we are talking just about 1 universe and even in that to it will contain hundreds or thousands of billions, millions galaxy, can you imagine the element space we are referring to here?

If not then come along with us and explore this unimaginably big of our universe we call home.

The Real from Reel

The idea of the multiverse and the idea of living the life of our infinite number of possibilities have always inspired people to merge all in the fantasy to let our hero be the one and all for us girls to swoon over right.

Aside from the reel, our scientists have always supported this fact that might be not close but far away somewhere where we are not able to reach yet can be the same world like ours sustaining the life and being the odd one out in that universe.

From the highlights of the Big Bang Theory and  String Theory, we have found that the universe was never constant as you canโ€™t tell about its actual size from one static point as it is always expanding.

The universe where we are resing today is the result of the explosion of matter in every direction where when the expansion stopped then the flood of matter and waves of radiation started the formation of our present-looking universe.

The process of inflammation suggests that when the expansion stopped in the verse of this universe another started as we donโ€™t know the end of the limits of the Big Bang explosion.

The very same starting of another verse could be our clue that there might be another universe and us out in the multiverse.

Inflammation and Mirror World

Think of the inflammation as the ball which is rolling from the top of the hill but as the ball keeps on expanding and running down the hill, the energy it has stored to even let the event occur on the top of the hill then as it precedes to come down then we can say at one point if it reaches the flat surface then it would have stopped the expansion and it will be static and we can say there will be yet another ball rolling down the hill to show the process of inflammation for another Mirror universe.

COTTON

Cotton is a staple textile of the fashion industry. Every closet probably houses a large percentage of cotton items, be it plain cotton, dyed cotton, or cotton mix. Cotton is a natural fiber derived from cotton plants whose use dates back to the fifth millennium B.C.

What Is Cotton?

Cotton is a staple fiber, which means it is composed of different, varying lengths of fibers. Cotton is made from the natural fibers of cotton plants, which are from the genus Gossypium.

Cotton is primarily composed of cellulose, an insoluble organic compound crucial to plant structure, and is a soft and fluffy material. The cotton plant needs lots of sun, a long period without frost, and a good amount of rain.

The term โ€œcottonโ€ refers to the part of the cotton plant that grows in the bollโ€”the encasing for the fluffy cotton fibers. Cotton is spun into yarn that is then woven to create a soft, durable fabric.

Where Did Cotton Originate?

The word cotton comes from the Arabic word โ€œquton.โ€ The earliest production of cotton was in India, where the material dates back to the fifth millennium B.C.

The first cotton gin, which is a tool that separates the cotton fluff from the plant seeds, was invented in India in the thirteenth century. The cotton gin made the production of cotton much easier and faster, helping the fiber spread as a widely-used textile.

During the Industrial Revolution, with the invention of new technologies like the spinning jenny, spinning frame, and spinning mule, Britain became one of the leading cotton producers. All of these spinning machines allowed manufacturers to spin cotton at increased rates.

However, it was the American Eli Whitneyโ€™s invention of the mechanical cotton gin which led to increased production of the material in the United States and Europe. This new tool, which separated the seeds from the cotton quickly and efficiently using machine power, cut down the hours of manual labor needed to produce a bale of cotton from 600 hours to just 12. Around the same time, America, particularly the Southern states, began producing more high-quality cotton, as the fibers were slightly longer and stronger.

With a few occasional falls in production, such as during the Civil War, the United States is still one of the leading producers of cotton in the world, falling just behind China and India.

Where Does Cotton Grow?

Cotton grows in nearly all tropical and subtropical regions around the world, including the U.S., China, India, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Brazil, and Turkey.

In the United States, Texas is the largest cotton producer, and the South Plains region in the northern part of the state is the largest contiguous cotton-growing area in the world.

How Is Cotton Processed?

Cotton production is a very involved process, from planting cotton seeds to picking the cotton crop to the processing it in a cotton gin.

  • While cotton was picked and separated by hand in the early days, today, most cotton production starts with a cotton picker (which picks the entire plant) or a cotton stripper, with strips the boll off the plant.
  • After the cotton is picked, it baled and stored in the fields before it is sent to the gins.
  • At the gins, the cotton bales are cleaned and fluffed to separate the material from dirt, seeds, and lint.
  • After the cotton has gone through the gins and is completely separated from the seeds, the raw cotton is compressed and stored, ready to ship off to textile mills for further production.
  • The cleaned and fluffed cotton is put through a carding machine, which further cleans the material and forms the short fibers into a long untwisted rope that is then ready for spinning and weaving.

Different Types of Cotton

There are four different types of cotton, each with its own characteristics.

  1. Pima cotton. Considered the finest type of cotton in the world, pima cottonโ€™s fibers are extra soft and extra long. The cotton is native to South America and the American Southwest. Pima cotton fabric is very highly-sought after, as it is resistant to fading, tearing, and wrinkling.
  2. Egyptian cotton. Egyption cotton is very similar to pima cotton. The two are even in the same scientific class:ย gossypium barbadense. It has the same resistant qualities, but it is grown in the Nile River Valley in Egypt.
  3. Upland cotton. Upland cotton has very short fibers and makes up about 90% of the worldโ€™s total cotton production. The crop is native to and grown in Central America, Mexico, the Caribbean, and southern Florida.
  4. Organic cotton. Organic cotton is any type of cotton that is grown without chemicals and from plants that are not genetically engineered.

What Are the Characteristics of Cotton?

Cotton has a number of distinguishing characteristics that make it such a popular fiber in the textile industry.

  • Softness. The cotton plant is soft and fluffy and results in a fabric often retains that soft feel.
  • Durability. The cotton plantโ€™s cellular structure is strong, creating a tough and wear-and-tear resistant fabric.
  • Absorbency. Cotton fabric is very absorbent fabric because there is a lot of space between the cotton fibers.
  • Holds dye well. Due to its absorbent nature, cotton takes dye very easily and can be made into a wide variety of colors.
  • Breathability. The fiber structure of cotton makes it more breathable than synthetic fibers.
  • No static cling. Cotton does not conduct electricity, therefore static is not an issue with cotton.

6 Common Uses for Cotton

Cotton has many uses, across a number of different industries.

  1. Woven fabrics. Cotton is used to make a variety of woven fabrics, including canvas, denim, damask, flannel, and more.
  2. Clothing. Cotton is a fixture of the textile industry as a result of its mass production, soft feel, durability, and absorbency. Cotton is frequently used for T-shirts, blue jeans, dresses, sweats, and so much more.
  3. Bed sheets and towels. Since cotton is extremely soft and absorbent, it is an ideal fabric for bedroom linens and towels needed to sop up moisture.
  4. Underwear. For the same reasons, cotton makes comfortable and durable undergarments.
  5. Home decor. Cotton is also used throughout the home for upholstery, curtains, rugs, pillows.
  6. Cottonseed oil. Cottonseed is a byproduct of the cotton production process, and the seeds are used to manufacture cottonseed oil, which is used for salad dressing and margarine. It can also be used in makeup, soap, candles and more.

Self Help In Anxiety

Making the decision to get some help can be intimidating for many people. How do we know who to trust when it comes to our problems? For many people, the idea of trust is such a problem that they avoid getting help at all. Typically, their problems in their lives only worsen as a result of avoiding the help they need and they eventually find themselves in a desperate situation. Once you are desperate, you will accept help from anyone and you wonโ€™t have the luxury of choosing where to go. Thatโ€™s why itโ€™s important to be sensible and seek out help early before your problems get too bad. This will help you to avoid any serious problems and make the solution to the problem much quicker and easier.

Anxiety typically comes about because of a lack of trust in the people around us. Although we can certainly say that there are a lot of trouble makers out there, it is also the rule that people typically exacerbate a problem when they become afraid and what might have been resolved quite easily becomes a very big ordeal. If you have a problem in your personal life and you need to get some help, ask around and get some references from other people who you already know. Many people are familiar with various counselors or therapists who they have had some kind of experience with or whom they know someone else has received excellent treatment. Many of the twelve step groups are also very helpful and it can be a lot easier to attend your first meeting if you go along with someone you have already met who can show you the ropes the first few times.

If you still feel afraid to reach out and find some help, there are a few basic tips that you can use to maintain a sense of security as you journey out into this new world of self help. First, think about the questions you may have before you go out and meet a new counselor or group of people. Write down the things you want to ask them ahead of time so that you will keep a clear sense of your purpose for going there. This will also make it easier to remember your questions if you get into a state of anxiety along the way. Second, remember that it is ok just to listen and to allow the other person to do most of the talking the first time. You can tell them that you feel a bit โ€œnewโ€ to all of this so you were planning on just listening on your first visit. Although you may have a few questions, you would prefer hearing everything they have to say about the process first and ask your questions later.

When attending your first 12 step group, you can expect to be greeted by one or two people when you arrive but it is also quite normal for others to leave you alone when you first sit down. If someone introduces themselves, just be friendly and introduce yourself as well. Tell them this is your first night so you were going to just listen. If they offer to show you the ropes, be open to anything they wish to tell you and listen to their suggestions. Most people at a twelve step group simply want to help because they have found that it benefits them in their own life when they reach out to others and try to lend a helping hand. You may be surprised to find that the person who first frightened you at your first meeting turned out to be one of the most helpful people you ever met!

After you get up the courage to try out a new place or a new person who can help you, make sure and congratulate yourself for facing one of your biggest fears in life. It is a very common fear among people seeking out help to be absolutely terrified about what the others in the room are going to โ€œthinkโ€ about them. Surprisingly, however, newcomers to the world of self help discover that the other people they meet have already seen hundreds of people like them before. Your problems are far from being as โ€œuniqueโ€ and โ€œdifferentโ€ in the self help circle as you may think. You arenโ€™t the center of the universe and most people will only be slightly interested to see you anyway. After a few visits, you will find that you feel a lot more comfortable and your problems werenโ€™t nearly as scary as you thought.

KNOWLEDGE MATRIX:

knowledge matrix is were an organisations maybe bulit up with information they might be gather a lot and lot of knowledge from the peer companies and even the huge companies to get developed through the following steps:

sense:

Here sense maybe refer to source . As a person everyone might collect source of knowledge from each and every person we met by observe, gather and hypothesize. Observation gives more concentration on our work . When the organisation starts it they might gather some knowledge for later uses too.

organize:

when the company gathers the information or knowledge they needed to be organized

  • Contextualize
  • Categorise
  • Map

when knowledge has been categrize for the future purpose it will be helpful for coming generation .

Example: as per this centuries there are number of companies and industries were taken places so when industrial explosion happened it needed to be recorded so then it will be helpful to avoid those disasters in futures. So the generation gain knowledge about it.

socialize:

socialize may everyone know about it. It’s sharing, disseminate and simulate. Sharing is the thing which make an individual to know more . Whether it is correct or not . It gives benefits for individual as well as the company.

Internalize:

here is last step internalize its just apply, decide and act. Just apply your knowledge on your work and gain more and more benefits for you and your business.

Importance of Meditation

When we hear the word meditation, we feel like we have to get immersed in a deep concentration. We feel like we have some magical powers for the same. But today I am here to brief you about what meditation is. It is a calm and lovable state of mind. It is a journey of slowing your thinking process and also a path towards positive thinking. So, meditation is a state of mind which should incorporated in your life. In times of crisis, where the pandemic has significantly affected our mental health ,we should spare at least 5 mins wherein we could sit in peace, let the thoughts and emotions flow.ย

Photo by Prasanth Inturi on Pexels.com

So yes , it is rightly said that we thrive every moment to turn our lives into a positive direction.ย
But only a calm, relaxed and blissful mind can pave the way for a successful and well lived experience on this planet. To do so , we have to acknowledge and adopt meditation in our culture.

Now letโ€™s take a look at some benefits of meditationย 1- regular meditation helps in coping with anxiety attacks- practicing meditation decreases grey matter in the areas of the brain associated with fear and anxiety, and increases grey matters in areas where compassion and love exist.ย

2- helps in getting rid of unwanted/ negative thoughts- As an idol is created after removing unwanted stones, in the same way, meditation helps you to remove unwanted thoughts and a beautiful personality comes before everyone.ย

3-Meditation improves concentration and memory- the calmer the mind is , the more you can focus on things and see them clearly ; which also makes it easier to remember.ย

4- increases your productivity- when youโ€™re in a peaceful state of mind , you would be able to determine which tasks are most important and which arenโ€™t urgent.

To conclude, when we start meditating we start seeing significant changes in our life. Therefore, start meditating today to live a stress free , productive life.

SPOILAGE OF MEAT

BY DAKSHITA NAITHANI

INTRODUCTION

Food spoiling is described as any alteration that the customer finds objectionable. Spoilage happens at any given point of time in the food chain. Insect damage, physical damage, indigenous enzyme activity in animal or plant tissue, and microbial infections can all contribute to spoilage. The majority of natural products have a definite shelf life.

Meat and its derivatives are nutrient-dense foods that are devoured by people all over the world.

Meat deteriorates biologically and chemically from the time it is slaughtered until it is consumed. Microbial spoilage may occur in meat and its products such as ham, sausages, cooked meat, dried meats, minced meat, and so on.

Contamination source and causes

Natural processes such as oxidation or autolytic activity in the muscle following slaughtering can cause meat decomposition. Microbial contamination of meat is caused by a number of variables, including the animal’s microflora, the type of container used, and how the meat is handled and stored. Knives, utensils, hands, and workers’ clothes, among other things

Numbers of microbes of microbes resides on the meat and their products. Some of important are listed below:

 Brochothrix thermosphacta

It can grow in both aerobic and anaerobic environments, and meat is a niche for it. This microorganism is frequently found in irradiated meat and poultry and is responsible for the bad odour of meat.

Carnobacterium

Carnobacterium is a gram-positive bacterium with nine different species. C. divergens has been demonstrated to show green discoloration of ham as a result of H2O2 generation.

Clostridium tetani

Clostridium creates a huge quantity of gas in packed meat, which, when combined with bad smells, causes the container to blow open.

Enterobacteriaceae

These bacteria can act as facultative anaerobes, oxidase-negative glucose fermenters, and nitrate suppressants, and they can influence to the rotting of meat.

Leuconostoc

D-lactate and ethanol are produced by Leuconostoc, a lactic acid generating bacterium. The discolouration, gas generation, and buttery odour of rotting meat are aided by these bacteria.

Pseudomonas

Pseudomonas has been identified as the most common bacterium found in rotting meat. Pseudomonas is widely recognised for successfully exploiting meat as a niche due to its capacity to break down glucose and amino acids under aerobic and cold conditions.

The spoilage of different types of meat are :

Spoilage of fresh meat

The enzymes and microbial activity in fresh meat causes it to decay. Proteolytic effects on muscle and connective tissue, as well as fat hydrolysis, are caused by autolysis alterations. Salmonella, E.coli, Listeria and other microbial diseases have been identified in fresh meat.

Spoilage of meat

Rotting of meat is caused by three fundamental mechanisms: microbial growth, oxidation, and enzymatic autolysis. Meat is a great substrate for microbial development due to its nutritional makeup, high water content, and mild pH. Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Clostridium, and Salmonella are among the bacteria found in an animal’s lymph nodes, which might influence meat.

Spoilage of refrigerated meat

Fresh meat may be present in good condition for 5-7 days when refrigerated at 4ยฐC. The development of psychrophilic microbes is favoured by a cool environment over time. Contamination of meat by rotting and dangerous bacteria can occur due to poor hygiene. B. thermosphacta and lactic acid bacteria are the microbes that cause refrigerated meat deterioration in general.

Factors spoilage of meat and meat products

Buffer capacity and pH

Muscle pH drops to 5.4-5.8 after slaughtering, however meat from stressed animals and cooked products, such as sliced ham, have pH levels greater than 6. The presence of tissue and a high pH in meat results in a faster deterioration process owing to microbial growth and nutritional absorption.

Water activity

The quantity of water in a meal that is available for the growth of microorganisms, including diseases, is measured by water activity (aw). Raw meat has a value of 0.98-0.99, while cooked meat has a value of 0.94; these values enable most bacteria to thrive. Pathogens cannot develop or produce toxins if the water activity is less than 0.85.

Packaging and gaseous atmosphere

The constitution of rotting flora is heavily influenced by packaging circumstances and the gaseous content of the environment surrounding the meat. Aerobic conditions favour the development of Pseudomonads over everything else. Lactic acid bacteria are the most prevalent microbes in vacuum or CO2-modified environment packed goods, and they are the bacteria that cause the most deterioration.

Storage temperature

The duration of the lag phase, the maximum specific growth rate, and the ultimate cell number are all affected by temperature. Lower temperatures inhibit microbial contamination and alter the microbiota makeup of meat. The dominance of lactic acid bacteria in sealed beef products is likewise maintained in cold circumstances. In sealed refrigerated beef, psychrophilic Clostridium spp. were found. The growth of Enterobacteriaceae, Pseudomonas spp., and Acinetobacter spp. is influenced by abuse of temperature.

General types of Spoilage of meats and meat Products.

Spoilage under Aerobic condition

The spoilage of meats and meat products due bacterial in aerobic conditions are:

Surface slime: Surface slime generated by Pseudomonas, Acinetobacter, Micrococcus, Streptococcus, Leuconostoc, and Bacillus results in spoilage. Lactobacillus species have also been shown to generate slime. Microbes are benefited from the thin layer development on meat because it delivers nutrients from the substrate.

Changes in colour of meat pigments: As a result of bacteria producing oxidising chemicals such as Peroxides or Hydrogen Sulphide, the red colour of meat, known as its “bloom,” might change to green, brown, or grey. Greening of sausage has been linked to Lactobacillus which is mainly hetero fermentative and Leuconostoc species.

Changes in fats: The oxidation of lipids in meat occurs chemically in the presence of oxygen and can be accelerated by light and copper. Lipolytic bacteria can induce some lipolysis as well as speed up the oxidation of lipids. Fat rancidity can be induced by lipolytic Pseudomonas and Achromobacter species.

Phosphorescence: Luminous bacteria, such as Photobacterium spp., develop on the surface of the flesh and create this rare abnormality. Other bacteria that generate red pigments might be responsible for the red spot.

Off odours and off tastes: Unpleasant odours and taste develop in meat as a result of bacteria growing on the surface. They emerge before other symptoms of deterioration. Meat sourness can be induced by volatile acids such as formic, acetic, butyric, and propionic acids, as well as yeast proliferation.

Spoilage due to moulds in aerobic condition

Moulds are actively involved the spoilage meat in aerobic conditions. Common types of spoilage are listed below.

Stickiness: Stickiness is caused by fungus bud development, which makes the surface of the flesh sticky to the touch. As a result of this form of deterioration, flesh takes on an odd look.

Whiskers: In the absence of sporulation, a little amount of mycelial development can occur resulting in whisker growth. Moulds such as Thamnidium elegans, Mucor mucedo, M. lusitanicus, or M. racemosus, Rhizopus, and others can create this sort of fuzzy growth.

Black spot and White spot: Cladosporium herbarum is the most prevalent source of this sort of spot, although other moulds with dark colours might also be to fault. White spot is most frequently reported by Sporotrichum carnis, although it can also be caused by any mould with moist, yeast-like colonies, such as Geotrichum.

Green patches:  Species of Penicillium such as P. expansum, P. asperulum, and P. oxalicum are responsible for the green patches on meat.

Decomposition of fats:  The oxidation of fats is caused by the hydrolysis of fats caused by lipase produced by moulds.

Spots on surface: Yeast and mould spoilage is generally confined to a large extent and may be cut away without harming the remainder of the meat.

Spoilage under Anaerobic Conditions

Facultative and anaerobic bacteria are able to grow within the meat under anaerobic conditions and cause spoilage. Few are listed below:

Souring: It can be generated by the meat’s natural enzymes during age or ripening, bacterial synthesis of fatty acids or lactic acid, or proteolysis without putrefaction induced by facultative or anaerobic bacteria and frequently referred to as “stinking sour fermentation.” Clostridium species and fecal coliform feed on carbohydrates and produce acid and gas. The development of lactic acid bacteria is prevalent in vacuum sealed meats, especially in gastight wrappers.

Putrefaction: Putrefaction is the disintegration of protein caused by anaerobic bacteria producing foul-smelling chemicals including hydrogen sulphide, indole, skatole, ammonia, and amines. In most cases, Clostridium spp. are to blame, however facultative bacteria can also cause or contribute to putrefaction. Clostridia-induced putrefaction is frequently accompanied by gas production.

Taint:  Having a foul odour and a poor taste. Temperature, in addition to air, has a significant impact on meat decomposition. Many microbes, including Pseudomonas, Lactobacillus, Leuconostoc, Streptococcus, and Flavobacterium species, generate slimes, discoloration, and growth patches on the surface and can induce sourness.

Motivation

Motivation is the process in which learner’s energies or needs are directed towards various good objects in his environment.

Kinds of motivation

Positive motivation :- In this child do the work from itself and they fill Happy while doing the work. Teachers organise different types of events which gives some positive motivation to the children.

Negative motivation :- children do not do the work from itself but they can do the work by some external efforts or when someone tell them to do work. And this type of motivation comes when we compare the students with each other.

We should always try that positive motivation give the childrens because if the children do the work by some external efforts then they have no any interest towards the work and they use wrong path for completing the work.

Positive motivation increases the confidence of children towards the situation. They will easily handle the situation by positively. Good thoughts comes in mind. Children have interest for doings the work. They do not do any compilation with each other.

ALICE IN WONDERLAND FILM REVIEW.

What will be your response if your dreams become your reality? Wouldn’t you be delighted to live your alternate reality! What it’s a goofy fantasy? Let me take you all in the world of fantasy; Alice in Wonderland is a movie directed by Tim Burton, is a 3-D blend of live action and animation of Lewis Carroll novel Alice in Wonderland.

SYNOPSIS

The story starts with a girl named Alice who has a reoccurring dreams since her childhood. She has turned 19 year old mourning over the death of her father. She is attending a garden party at Lord Ascot’s estate, she is confronted into an unwanted marriage relation with Ascot’s son. Taking some time to take a decision she in haste follows a rabbit to a rabbit hole under a tree, unintentionally falling into it. The story takes a drastic turn by that incident and opens a portal to her recurring dream world from where she begins her journey to the Wonderland and also finding her true self. On her journey she meets the different characters of wonderland ; the Caterpillar (played by Alan Rickman), Mad Hatter (played by Johnny Depp), White Rabbit (played by Michael Sheen), Red Queen (played by Helena Bonham Carter), White Queen (played by Anne Hathaway) and many more. The destiny unfolds the secret of her presence in Wonderland. She was brought her to fulfill the pronounced Oracle. This adventure helps Alice to overcome her fears, insecurities and emerge as victorious. The adventure helps Alice to realise her potential and follow her own will and doesn’t get lost in the society rituals or let them decide your potential and future.

Overall the movie is pretty good, it’s a bit intense and scary at times for younger children who could not understand the film depictions just because of the scary secens. As it’s the Lewis Carroll bizzare imagination not many can match that level of fantasy creativity. The cast was great, everyone perfectly fits into their allotted characters. Their costumes, the makeup, the dialogue delivery everything was perfectly done. My personal favourite would definitely be The Red Queen I feel her presence on screen always keep’s the audience jolly and entertained. Her carzy acting her weird dressing sense everything just speaks confidence it just creates a feeling of nostalgia. I love everything about her in my opinion well sorry on advance for being baised! I feel the cinematography was substantial thr visual effects makes a person experience the scenes. According to me the story unfolds quite briskly. The direction was great but the writer could have added more parts of the actual novel, the film can be more descriptive. But what can we say after all it’s Tim Burton film who is unique in his work. So it’s a must watch movie .

Journalism

Journalism is an activity of gathering, assessing, creating and presenting news and information. It is also the product of these activities. Journalism can be differentiated from other activities and products by certain identifiable characteristics and practices. These elements not only separate journalism from other forms of communication , they are what make it indispensable to democratic societies. History reveals that more democratic the society is, more news and information it tends to have.

Journalism is the production and distribution of reports on current events based on facts and supported with proof or evidence. The word journalism applies to the occupation as well as collaborative who gather and publish information based on facts and supported with evidence. It is a form of writing that tells people about what has really happened, that they might have not known already.

India which is a democratic country has a major scope in the filed of journalism. We need young generation in this field so that we can understand the facts more smarter and better. Many people have debate skills and knowledge in this field which gives them popularity and they achieve milestones into this sector in a permanent basis. It is in written form, electronic form, internet based etc.

I hope by this article you got to know a little more about the field and scope of journalism. At present time the emergence of journalism has reached high levels. I will try to provide better facts and figures in this field in my next article.

Thank you!!

Importance of writing

Today’s article is about the importance of writing. Writing simply means handwritten on a paper. Typing can’t be considered under writing. In today’s world where there is smartphone and devices available practiced of writing on paper is getting diminished. People try to just copy and paste the important things on the devices.

Writing is necessary for the kids and youth too. Writing also ensures to remember the facts. It is scientifically proven that when we write with our fingers the mind gets connected with it automatically and that’s why we don’t forget the things which we have written on the piece of paper rather than typing. Typing can be a temporary option but one should not avoid the practice of writing.

It is important to know the benefits of writing. Writing helps in learning the points more quicker. It also focuses to concentrate on the points written down. Thinking ability is improved of an individual. As a personal experience I have noticed that the things which I have written on the paper are still remembered and the things which I haven’t wrote was easily forgettable.

In earlier times, there is a tradition that the child should write the first letter on the slate with his fingers and worship the goddess of knowledge “sarawsati”. From there we know that writing is an important tradition in childhood life. After that only, a child’s education is considered to be formally begin. The gurukul system also focused on writing the concept taught by the gurus to the students.

I choose this topic because nowadays people are not in the habit of writing which is very essential. The movement of fingers are done only when we write on the paper. I hope that you will read and notice the things I have mentioned and try to write at least for 20 minutes on a piece of paper. It will be beneficial and you will remember things more easily without the use of smartphone.

Thank you for today ….Keep reading!!

BUTTERFLY ๐Ÿฆ‹

”Butterflies are nature’s angels.

They remind us what a gift it is to be alive”

~Robyn Nola

Butterflies are the adult flying stage of certain insects belonging to an order or group called Lepidoptera. Moths also belong to this group. The word “Lepidoptera” means “scaly wings” in Greek. This name perfectly suits the insects in this group because their wings are covered with thousands of tiny scales overlapping in rows. The scales, which are arranged in colorful designs unique to each species, are what gives the butterfly its beauty.

Like all other insects, butterflies have six legs and three main body parts: head, thorax (chest or mid section) and abdomen (tail end). They also have two antennae and an exoskeleton.

Butterfly life cycle

A life cycle is made up of the stages that a living organism goes through during its lifetime from beginning to end. A butterfly undergoes a process called complete metamorphosis during its life cycle. This means that the butterfly changes completely from its early larval stage, when it is a caterpillar, until the final stage, when it becomes a beautiful and graceful adult butterfly. The butterfly life cycle has four stages: egg, larva, pupa, and adult.

The first stage of the butterfly life cycle is the egg or ovum. Butterfly eggs are tiny, vary in color and may be round, cylindrical or oval. The female butterfly attaches the eggs to leaves or stems of plants that will also serve as a suitable food source for the larvae when they hatch.

The larva, or caterpillar, that hatches from the egg is the second stage in the life cycle. Caterpillars often, but not always, have several pairs of true legs, along with several pairs of false legs or prolegs. A caterpillar’s primary activity is eating. They have a voracious appetite and eat almost constantly. As the caterpillar continues to eat, its body grows considerably. The tough outer skin or exoskeleton, however, does not grow or stretch along with the enlarging caterpillar. Instead, the old exoskeleton is shed in a process called molting and it is replaced by a new, larger exoskeleton. A caterpillar may go through as many as four to five molts before it becomes a pupa.

The third stage is known as the pupa or chrysalis. The caterpillar attaches itself to a twig, a wall or some other support and the exoskeleton splits open to reveal the chrysalis. The chrysalis hangs down like a small sack until the transformation to butterfly is complete. The casual observer may think that because the pupa is motionless that very little is going on during this “resting stage.” However, it is within the chrysalis shell that the caterpillar’s structure is broken down and rearranged into the wings, body and legs of the adult butterfly. The pupa does not feed but instead gets its energy from the food eaten by the larval stage. Depending on the species, the pupal stage may last for just a few days or it may last for more than a year. Many butterfly species overwinter or hibernate as pupae.

The fourth and final stage of the life cycle is the adult. Once the chrysalis casing splits, the butterfly emerges. It will eventually mate and lay eggs to begin the cycle all over again. Most adult butterflies will live only a week or two, while a few species may live as long as 18 months.

Butterfly wings are transparent

Before you feel the need to schedule an eye exam, let us explain. The wings of a butterfly are covered in a multitude of miniature scales  โ€“thousands of them. And those colors you see when a butterfly flits across your yard are the reflection of various colors through the scales. The wings themselves are made up of a protein called chitin, which is the same protein that forms an insectโ€™s exoskeleton. And much like an exoskeleton, chitin is transparent. Youโ€™ve learned something new already!

There are almost 20,000 butterfly species

If youโ€™d ever considered memorizing all the various species of butterflies, it may take longer than you were anticipating. An easier starting point would be those species regularly occurring in the lower 48 states of the US. Still, that number is right around 575, so weโ€™re recommending note cards or, perhaps, focusing on the butterflies you find in and around your yard this spring and summer.

Butterflies use their feet to taste

If everything up until this point was already a part of your existing butterfly knowledge, this fact may come as a curveball. However, if you think about it from the butterflyโ€™s point of view, it isnโ€™t that unusual. A butterflyโ€™s daily activities consist of eating and mating, both of which require landing โ€“ even if it is only briefly. When food is the priority, those taste receptors help the butterfly locate the right plants and the key nutrients it needs for survival. Although many people wonder what it means when a butterfly lands on them, the truth is that itโ€™s probably just hungry.

Butterflies only live for a few weeks

For everyone who has been anxiously awaiting this since our earlier reference, or who simply skipped ahead until they found it, here you go. The average lifespan of an adult butterfly is roughly three to four weeks, however, the entire life cycle can last anywhere between two and eight months. As with anything, there are exceptions to the rule. At least one species of butterfly lives for approximately 24 hours, while some migratory butterflies, like the North American Monarch, can survive for nearly eight months.

The most common butterfly in the US is the Cabbage White

Named for its mostly white marking, when hints of yellow and green like the vegetable, the Cabbage White may not be the most colorful butterfly in your garden or yard, but it is the most common. The male Cabbage White has one prominent black spot on each wing, while the female has two.

Some butterfly species migrate from the cold

Although in many cases cold weather will end the already short life of a butterfly by rendering them immobile, others take the dropping temperature as a signal to move. Butterflies are cold-blooded and require โ€“ in ideal settings โ€“ a body temperature of approximately 85 degrees to activate their flight muscles. If the weather begins changing some species simply migrate in search of sunshine. Some, like the North American Monarch, travel an average of 2,500 miles!

One of the largest butterflies is the Giant Swallowtail Butterfly

With a wingspread of between four and seven inches, this species has a name that fits its dimensions. If you have ever seen one on a hike or around your yard, you may have been spellbound by the sight of it. Their swallowtail description is borrowed from birds of the same name, thanks to the long tails on this butterflyโ€™s hindwings.

Butterflies have a liquid diet

We mentioned earlier that butterflies like to eat, which is true. What we didnโ€™t include at the time is that their source of food is exclusively liquid. In fact, they simply donโ€™t have the necessary apparatus for chewing. Using their proboscis, which functions in the same way you or I might use a straw, butterflies drink nectar or some other variation of liquid sustenance.ย

Butterfly wings help them against predators

As weโ€™ve discussed, the lifespan of the average butterfly is short, and even at their peak, these insects are some of the most fragile. Staying alive for as long as possible allows the butterfly additional opportunities to mate, and continuing the existence of its species is of utmost importance. Therefore, butterflies frequently use their wings as a defense mechanism. Either by folding to blend in with their surroundings, or wearing a full spectrum of colors and patterns to frighten predators, a butterflyโ€™s wings are often their best protection.

Butterflies actually have four wings, not two

Speaking of wings, we may have intentionally left the most fascinating butterfly fact until last! Despite how they may appear in motion, or in drawings or paintings you may have seen, butterflies have four separate wings. The wings closest to its head are called the forewings, while those in the rear are called the hindwings. Thanks to strong muscles in the butterflyโ€™s thorax, all four wings move up and down in a figure-eight pattern during flight.ย

“Butterflies can’t see their wings.
They can’t see how truly beautiful they are,
but everyone else can.
People are like that as well”

What Are Vitamins And Why We Need Them?

We must obtain vitamins from natural foods, or dietary supplements in order to sustain life.
When I mention the word vitamin, most people think pill. Thinking pill brings to mind confusing images of medicine and drugs. Though vitamins can and certainly often do the work of both medicine and drugs, they are neither.
Quite simply, vitamins are organic substances necessary for life. Vitamins
are essential to the normal functioning of our bodies and, save for a few exceptions, cannot be manufactured or synthesized internally. Necessary for
our growth, vitality, and general well-being, they are found in minute quantities in all natural food. We must obtain vitamins from these foods or from dietary supplements.
What you have to keep in mind is that supplements, which are available
in tablet, capsule, liquid, powder, spray, patch, and injection forms, are still just food substances, and, unless synthetic, are also derived from living plant sand animals.
It is impossible to sustain life without all the essential vitamins.
What Vitamins Are Not
Vitamins are neither pep pills nor substitutes for food.
A lot of people think vitamins can replace food. They cannot. In fact, vitamins cannot be assimilated without ingesting food. There are a lot of erroneous beliefs about vitamins, and I hope this book can clear up most of them.Vitamins are not pep pills and have no caloric or energy value of
their own.
Vitamins are not substitutes for protein or for any other nutrients, such as minerals, fats, carbohydrates, water or even for each other!
Vitamins themselves are not the components of our body structures.
You cannot take vitamins, stop eating, and expect to be healthy.

How They Work

If you think of the body as an automobileโ€™s combustion engine and vitamins as spark plugs, you have a fairly good idea of how these amazing minute food substances work for us.
Vitamins regulate our metabolism through enzyme systems. A single deficiency can endanger the whole body.Vitamins are components of our enzyme systems which, acting like spar
plugs, energize and regulate our metabolism, keeping us tuned up and functioning at high performance.
Compared with our intake of other nutrients like proteins, fats, and carbo
hydrates, our vitamin intake (even on some mega dose regimens) is minuscule. But a deficiency in even one vitamin can endanger the whole human body.
But, you should always remember that supplements are supplements and not replacement of regular and healthy food. Without food, they will not work.

Dreams : Types & Facts

Dreams are stories and images that our minds create while we sleep. They can be entertaining, fun, romantic, disturbing, frightening, and sometimes bizarre.

Although it is hard to define what a dream is, for the purpose of this article, we will define dreams as our thoughts during sleep that we recall when we wake up. So, sleeping dreams are not the same as โ€œdaydreaming.โ€ Dreams are mostly visual (made up of scenes and faces; sound, taste, and smell are rare in dreams). Dreams can range from truly strange to rather boring, snapshots from a recent event.

Facts on Dreams

  • We may not remember dreaming, but everyone is thought to dream between 3 and 6 times per night.
  • Dreams improve creativity and problem solving.
  • It is thought that each dream lasts between 5 to 20 minutes.
  • Dreams regulate our moods and emotions.
  • Around 95 percent of dreams are forgotten by the time a person gets out of bed.
  • Dreaming can help you learn and develop long-term memories.
  • Blind people dream more with other sensory components compared with sighted people.
  • Dreams support memories.

Types of Dreams

There are 5 main types of dreams :

1. Normal Dreams

Common dreams about people and experiences that we can sometimes forget.

2. Day Dreams

When we escape from reality and visualise the past, present & future throughout the day.

3. Lucid Dreams

Being completely aware and in control of dream the dream you are having while you sleep.

4. False Awakening Dreams

A vivid type of dream that feels like you have woken up but you are actually still asleep.

5. Nightmares

The least favourite type of dream. Nightmares are disturbing and scary dreams that can feel realistic.

Whether you remember your dreams or not, most people dream every night during REM sleep. REM stands for rapid eye movements, which happen during this stage of sleep. During REM sleep, muscle and brain activity also differ from other sleep stages. Characteristics of dreams tend to be different for each of these sleep stages.

Conclusion

There are different ways scientists measure dreams from asking questions to using MRI. These studies show us that activity in the brain while we sleep gives us the interesting dreams we recall when we wake up. These dreams help us remember things, be more creative, and process our emotions.

We know most kids do not get enough sleep. Some diseases (like Alzheimerโ€™s disease) also make people sleep less, while others (like REM sleep behaviour disorder and mood disorders) affect dreams directly. It is important to study sleep and dreams to understand what happens when we do not get enough sleep and how we can treat people with these diseases.

Teenagers & Anxiety

All teens experience some amount of anxiety at times. Anxiety is actually a normal reaction to stress, and sometimes it helps teens deal with tense or overwhelming situations. For many teens, things like public speaking, final exams, important athletic competitions, or even going out on a date can cause feelings of apprehension and uneasiness. They may also experience an increase in heartbeat or excessive sweating. Thatโ€™s how the brain responds to anxious feelings.

For some teens, however, anxiety can go beyond these typical symptoms to negatively affect friendships and family relationships, participation in extracurricular activities, and even their schoolwork. When feelings of anxiety interfere with normal daily living, the presence of an anxiety disorder should be considered. According to the National Institute of Mental Health, approximately 25% of 13 to 18-year-olds have an anxiety disorder, and just under 6% have a severe anxiety disorder.

Given that teens experience a wide variety of physical and emotional changes as they grow, an anxiety disorder can be difficult to spot. Many red flags may seem like usual teens struggles or be chalked up to hormones. Watch for these hidden signs of anxiety in your teens :

1. Emotional Changes to Watch Out For in Teens

While some anxious teens express feelings of pervasive worry, others experience subtle emotional changes such as :

  • Feeling โ€œkeyed upโ€
  • Feeling on edge
  • Irritability
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Restlessness
  • Unexplained outbursts

2. Social Changes

Anxiety can negatively affect friendships. If your once social teen suddenly avoids his favourite activities or stops making plans with friends, think twice. You might notice that he/she is :

  • Avoiding social interactions with usual friends
  • Avoiding extracurricular activities
  • Isolating from peer group
  • Spending increased time alone

3. Physical Changes

Many of the physical complaints that can occur with an anxiety disorder mimic average teen complaint, which tend to increase as they get older. Pay attention to patterns. A couple of headaches here and there shouldnโ€™t be a cause for concern, for example, but frequent headaches are a red flag. Watch for these common psychosomatic complaints :

  • Frequent headaches, including migraines
  • Gastrointestinal problems
  • Unexplained aches and pains
  • Excessive fatigue
  • Complaints of not feeling well with no obvious medical cause
  • Changes in eating habits

4. Sleep Disturbances

Teens aged 13 to 18 get 8 to 10 hours of sleep on a regular basis to promote optimal health. It is also recommend shutting down screens 30 minutes prior to bedtime, and removing all electronics from the bedroom.

Itโ€™s no big secret that homework demands, changing brain structure, extracurricular activities, and screen time can all cut into the sleep habits of teens. Therefore, it can be difficult to know whether fatigue is a product of anxiety or of a busy schedule. Watch for these red flags :

  • Difficulty falling asleep
  • Difficulty staying asleep
  • Frequent nightmares
  • Not feeling refreshed after sleep

5. Poor School Performance

Given that anxiety can affect everything from sleep habits to eating habits to missing school due to physical issues, it should come as no surprise that poor academic performance can also result from untreated anxiety. School avoidance, missed days due to anxiety-related illness, and persistent worry can make it difficult for anxious teens to keep up with their workload. Watch for these changes in your teen :

  • Significant jump in grades (usually downward)
  • Frequently missed assignments
  • Describes feeling overwhelmed by workload
  • Procrastinates on, or has difficulty concentrating on, homework assignments more than usual

6. Panic Attacks : Know the Symptoms

Not all anxious teens experience panic attacks, and some experience mild symptoms of panic without enduring a full panic attack. The following symptoms are common among people with anxiety disorders :

  • Rapid heartbeat
  • Sweating and trembling
  • Dizziness
  • Upset stomach
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Chest pain
  • Feeling like theyโ€™re dying
  • Feeling like theyโ€™re โ€œgoing crazyโ€
  • Numbness or tingling in arms and legs
  • Derealization.

TEA, AROUND THE GLOBE

WOMENโ€™S RIGHTS IN AFGHANISTAN IN PERIL?

By Moksha Grover

Ever since the Taliban has taken control over Afghanistan there is a big threat to the rights of afghan women & girls. Three Afghan women who worked at a media company were gunned down in Jalalabad in early March[1]. In January, unidentified gunmen killed two female Supreme Court judges in Kabul[2]. These are just some of the victims of the long list of assassinations of female activists and political leaders in Afghanistan. These assassinations have increased since the government of Afghanistan established connections with the Taliban.

The period of 1996-2001 when the Taliban ruled the country was the darkest time for afghan women. after Independence from the Taliban in 2001, Afghanistan had grown up a lot in terms of supporting women, educating them, and making them stand up for their feet. We have the famous women activists Sima Samar, Aryana Sayeed, and Roqia Abubakr all of who contributed a lot to the growth of Afghanistan. Today women compose around 27% of the Afghan Parliament, one of the highest rates of womenโ€™s political representation in the region[3].

Presently, as the Taliban have taken control over the country once again these women are at a worry for their safety and peace accord with the Taliban extremists. The oppressive rules of the Taliban for women make it their darkest times. Women are not being allowed to appear in the streets without a blood relative or without wearing a burqa, not allowing womenโ€™s to wear heels, not allowing womenโ€™s to speak or make any sound from their footsteps, depriving the right to education for women, these rules under the Sheria law are just too tyrannical. The fight with the Taliban is not just about womenโ€™s rights but about the basic rights that every human being needs which the afghan women are being disadvantaged under the rule of the Taliban. ย It is a platitude to say that, as the Taliban were expanding their territory in Afghanistan on 15th August 2021 afghan women were facing an uncertain future. On 16th August 2021, this uncertainty was replaced by fear and despair as President Ashraf Ghani fled the country, leaving the country in control of the Taliban[4]. Taliban, coming into power once again would lead to Afghanistan being 200 years back.

Afghan women now find themselves in the untenable position of looking for help from the international community. Today, the whole world is following the turbulent scenario in Afghanistan with a heavy heart and deep disquiet about what lies ahead. There is a need for the global call on this issue. Now is the time to stand as one, it is a call on all the international communities to use all available tools to uphold human rights in Afghanistan.

Power of Meditation

Another much needed and the topic to be discussed -the power of meditation. To lead a stable and peaceful life mediation is important. Meditation enhances our ability to understand and think deeper. Meditation involves focusing. It can be anything a thought or an activity but the main aim is to focus on to focus on yourself.

Meditation is a boon for us and is practiced since old times. A tradition which was present yet lost. Meditation is a practice where an individual uses a technique – such as mindfulness, or focusing the mind of a particular object, thought or activity- to train attention and awareness ,to achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm and stable state. It can also be called as “healing process ” which relaxes and calms the soul of an individual.

These days, with greater need to reduce stress in the midst of our busy schedules and demanding lives, meditation is increasing in popularity. Although there isn’t a right or wrong way to meditate, it’s important to find a practice that meets your needs and complements your personality. There are several types of meditation. Some of them are – Mindfulness meditation, spiritual meditation, focused meditation, mantra meditation, visualized meditation and movement meditation.

Meditation is proved to be a stress buster in our complicated lives. Where there is pressure everywhere, by the practice of meditation we can achieve inner peace and relaxation of mind. This practice increases our ability to think, understand and remember things for future. It also lowers blood pressure, reduces anxiety, decreases pain, ease of symptoms of depression and improve sleep. It is scientifically proven that meditation is beneficial to an individual.

Evils of terrorism

Today’s article discusses about the evils of terrorism. Terrorism is a world wide problem. A terrorist is a person who tries to create fear and panic among the people to gain his own ends. Their aim is to frighten the people and the government. In order to create panic they explode bombs and spread rumours. Terrorists change their hideouts. Sometimes the hard-core terrorists commit suicide or kill their associates when arrested.

Terrorists are usually young and the old behind them. They coordinate and guide the terrorists activities. Terrorists are extremists who act with great zeal. But they are misguided people who sometimes do not know what they are really acting for. Sometimes terrorists are helped by some foreign agencies in order to create disorder inside the country. In such cases, they are trained in the use of sophisticated weapons. They are also supplied with money and arms by agencies.

Terrorism is threatening peace and security all over the world. Many countries in the world have been hit by the cult of violence. As terrorism is an international problem, we can solve it by with the help of international cooperation. The countries of the world should not allow terrorists activity against another country. Terrorists have no religion and no faith in human values. Their only philosophy is bloodshed for political gains.

The genuine grievance of the people must be redressed and justice should be done to all. Terrorism has crossed borders and he developed into a global issue. We hope we could fight the evils and come back with peace and harmony in the near future. Today’s generation don’t want such sort of fear in their minds and want to lead a stable and happy life. It’s the responsibility of the organizations of WHO, UNSC to maintain peace all over the world.

Hope you will support… Thank you!!

A Clock of Atoms

Photo by Maor Attias on Pexels.com

The tickling of the clock always says about the nearing of the time either away from something or close to something, but the same ticking can also show you the whole timeline graph of the past and future just with the perfect tool in hand.

So to tackle the navigation problem of many light-years from our home earth in the web of space a new technology has been introduced and to name it we call it Deep Space Atomic Clock, a new navigation device which can help us in exploring many untouched parts of the space with quick and precise calculations.

The error percentage of this atomic clock is just 1sec in a span of 100 million years and thatโ€™s what makes it the best in the whole of human civilization.

But to know what and why makes it this strong of the contender in the game of at least time calculations we need to know everything about it, so to know it letโ€™s get this reading on with the whoop.

Working

To know any device and its diversity among the unity with another we need to know how does it work.

The working of this clock is based on the time it takes for a resonating frequency of atoms to keep up with the higher and extreme frequency by noticing the time it will take in changing the energy level of the atoms present.

It is the same as when a spacecraft is situated somewhere outside the earth in space we just going the send the radiation or the signal with the speed of the light which can make a two-way journey from the earth to that spacecraft and then we can calculate the distance with speed and the time taken by the wave to return to us.

Now repeat this same process we can locate the whole trajectory of the object with the knowledge of where it is going and from where it might come.

Yes, we get it but the connection between the atom and clock?

The connection, and how the concept explained above could make this atomic watch worthwhile?

If you have the same wondering questions then I guess we need to find the missing dots and try once again to catch the concept.

Our clock uses the quartz crystal to measure the accurate time from our wrist band to the clock on the satellites by counting the number of the vibration they make in the unit of time because the quartz can vibrate at the precise frequency when given the required volt of energy.

The vibration of the quartz shows the lapse of the time but to calculate the exact location of the spacecraft we need something which can count even the zillionth fraction of the time and does producing the error of just 1 sec in the large period.

The clock need for this purpose should be consistent and stable as if measured over the long span of different timelines it should not show any difference.

Conclusion

Nasa has yet again found something which we can use to be more correct about the upcoming threats to the earth and its whole surrounding.

Why Qatar shouldn’t organize football world cup

Football world cup will be organized in 2022 in Qatar. When FIFA announced Qatar as host of 2022 world cup, questions started rising on suitability of Qatar as host country. Many media outlets, sports experts and human rights groups criticized FIFA for this decision and even alleged of them being bribed. Former UEFA president was also arrested in 2019 in relation to bribing case.

In addition of bribing scandal there are several reasons why world at Qatar is a disgrace. Let’s discuss them one by one:

Human rights

FILE PHOTO: Soccer Football – World Cup Qualifiers Europe – Group J – Germany v Iceland – MSV-Arena, Duisburg, Germany – March 25, 2021 Germany players pose for a photo displaying a Human Rights message on their t-shirts before the match Pool via REUTERS/Tobias Schwarz/File Photo

Violation of human rights is the biggest criticism of Qatar as world cup host. Treatment of workers hired to build infrastructure like stadium, hotels etc. was miserable. Kafala system left migrant workers vulnerable to systemic abuse. Workers may not change their job or even leave country. They were literally used as slaves in the process of building infrastructure. In 2013, Amnesty international reported serious exploitation of labors.

Due to heavy criticism, Qatar govt. stepped up and promised reforms in labor laws in 2014, But a little progress was made. The Nepalese ambassador to Qatar said that Qatar had become an open jail for migrant workers of south Asia. Companies forced workers to stay and work in poor conditions by denying them promised salaries and withholding worker ID permits. They faced exploitation to extent of modern day slavery. The Guardian did a investigation and found out horrible situations. Labors were forced to live in unsanitary conditions. Workers told the guardian that they were promised higher wages but their contracts were destroyed upon their arrival in Qatar. Some were not paid from months. They described having to beg for food and being beaten. Minimum monthly wage system was announced in 2020 , 10 years after announcement of hosting world cup. But this was also not sufficient to meet needs of workers as standard of living in Qatar is high.

Another problem is legal status of homosexuality in Qatar. Homosexuality is banned in Qatar with offenders facing fines and 7 years of imprisonment. LGBT fans may face problems. Many LGBT activists asked FIFA to cancel world cup but FIFA ensured that everyone will have right to watch the game in stadiums.

Climate

In addition to human rights violation climate is also a major problem as the world cup usually occurs during the northern hemisphere’s summer. Summer in Qatar sometimes become unbearable as temperature reaches 50 degree Celsius. It will affect the performance level of footballers and they will also need longer recovery time. Also lots of money will be required to create infrastructure of stadiums with cooling system

Solution of this problem is winter world world cup which is also a problem itself. World cup can’t be staged in January and February as it will clash with winter Olympics. Staging it in November December is also not feasible as it might clash with Christmas season. The Premier league also raised issues over moving world cup to winter as it will interfere with European domestic leagues and players from all over the world participates in these leagues. Broadcasters also raised voice as clash of world cup with major European leagues will be not profitable for them.

There are also some minor problems like transpiration, ban on use of alcohol in Qatar, huge cost etc. Qatar govt. is also taking some steps but they are not enough. So Qatar as a world cup hosting nation is a disgrace to football.

MUSIC : THE WONDER OF THE BEATS

Woman Wearing Black Sleeveless Dress Holding White Headphone at Daytime

In the world that we live in today, we are always surrounded by music everywhere. From slow to fast, calm to upbeat, from rock to hip-hop to metal and country, people all over the world appreciate the music in all its different forms, style and distinctiveness. Music connects people all over the world, whatever language or genre that it may have. It carries a universal message of love and togetherness that unites people from different parts of the globe, as they find a common hobby to bond over amidst all the differences and diversity they may have among themselves. We do not overexaggerate when people claim that “Music has saved them”. It is like a boat in the middle of the storm of life that helps them sail through the difficult time with ease and offers them a place to relax and unwind, allowing them time to reflect and introspect to understand themselves a little better. Music is a remedy for all of us and it accepts us with open arms wherever we go.

Some of the ways in which music is beneficial are mentioned below. They are as follows:-

#1 IT HELPS YOU CALM DOWN

Amidst the race and chaos we call life, we may not always get the time to relax and take out time for ourselves. In such situations, music can be our savior. A number of studies have suggested that listening to slow music for a minimum of 15 minutes a day can really help us ease down a bit, allowing our bodies to relax and live in the moment.

So, whenever you feel stressed, make sure to put your favorite tunes on and just relax!

#2 MUSIC MAY HELP YOU IMPROVE YOUR PERFORMANCE WHILE EXERCISING

Plant

Gooseberry is a fast growing, small to medium-sized, low, deciduous tree, 5โ€“25 m tall; trunk often crooked and gnarled, up to 35 cm in diameter; bark thin, smooth, grey, peeling in patches, with numerous knobs, main branches angular and densely pubescent. The plant has sharp thorns all along its woody branches. It is normally found growing in tropical and subtropical regions from near sea-level. It grows equally well in arid and wet or humid conditions. It is light demanding plant, common in grassy areas, brush and village groves. The plant is not fastidious of soil type and grows on a wide range of soil types ranging from sandy loam to clay, light or heavy, and slightly acidic to slightly alkaline. It flourishes in deep, fertile soil. It is moderately drought resistant but some cultivars may be sensitive to drought and frost. It is fire-resistant and is one of the first trees to recover after a fire. Branchlets are glabrous or finely pubescent, 10โ€“20 cm long, usually deciduous.

Leaves

The buds perk up early in the spring, dotting the stems with green when most other plants are still tawny. Leaves are alternate, single, deeply lobed, and glossy dark green (European types), or pale to gray-green and sometimes finely pubescent (American types). The stems are thin, becoming woody, with a large thorn at each axil. American gooseberry stems are densely bristly, with one or more additional thorns at each axil. Leaf size and number are reduced under heat or light stress, and are easily burned by intense sunlight. Plants that have been subject to drought may make a new growth flush after deep irrigation. If the roots are lost, regrowth will wait until the following spring.

Flowers

Flowers are greenish-yellow, fascicled in axils of leaves or fallen leaves, unisexual. The male flowers are numerous at base of young twigs, the female flowers solitary and higher up the twig. Male flowers are shortly pedicellate, with six pale green perianth lobes 1.5โ€“2.5 mm long and three entirely connate stamens, six disk glands alternating with the perianth lobes; female flowers sessile, with six somewhat larger perianth lobes, a cup-like six-angular disk, and a superior three celled, glabrous ovary crowned by three styles, connate for more than half of their length and deeply bifid at apex. The flowers are self-fertile and pollinated by wind and insects, including bees. Each flower bud opens to yield from one to four flowers, depending on cultivar.

Fruit

Fruit, borne singly or in pairs at the axils, is a berry with many minute seeds at the center. A gooseberry is depressed globose drupe 2โ€“4 cm in diameter; with six vertical striations. The color of the berries is usually green, but there are red (to purple), yellow, and white variants. (Ribes hirtellum fruit can be green or dark purple to black. Fruits of the European gooseberry may be very large, like a small plum, but are usually 1 inch long, less in width. American gooseberry fruits are smaller (to 1/2 inch), perfectly round, all becoming pink to wine-red at maturity. In general, the berries weigh about 4 g to 10 g. The fruit skin is thin, translucent and adherent to the very crisp, juicy, concolorous flesh. Inside, a berry may hold 15-30 tiny edible seeds. Skin color is most intense in full sunlight. Berries generally drop when overripe. The fruit has a flavor all its own, the best dessert cultivars as luscious as the best apple,ย strawberry ย orย grape.

By decreasing excess cholesterol buildup, the chromium can reduce the chances of atherosclerosis, or plaque buildup in the vessels and arteries. This reduces the chances of strokes and heart attacks. The iron content encourages the creation of new red blood cells, increasing circulation and the oxygenation of organs and cells to maximize growth and regeneration of tissue, while keeping the blood vessels and arteries clean.

13. Diuretic Activity

Besides being a fruit that is very high in water, Gooseberry is slightly diuretic in nature. This means that it increases the frequency as well as volume of urination. Urination helps to eliminate unwanted toxins and excess levels of water, salts, and uric acid from the body. Additionally, it can help you lose weight, since up to 4% of urine is actually composed of fat. Thus, a diuretic substance is always essential for keeping our kidneys healthy, and also preventing urinary infections and uterine infections. Gooseberry is a great way to do this.

14. Infection

Gooseberries have antibacterial and astringent attributes; so it protects the body against infection and improves the bodyโ€™s immune response. They are also a very good source of vitamin C, which is eminent for its impressive antioxidant abilities and its stimulation of the immune system. It increases the white blood cell count in the body, which is the main line of defense for the immune system, since white blood cells attack and remove foreign toxins and substances in the bloodstream and throughout the body.

15. Metabolic Activity

Regular consumption of protein rich foods is one of the most significant ways to stay healthy, since proteins are an essential part of our bodyโ€™s metabolic activities. Our enzymes can breakdown plant proteins into amino acids and reunite them into usable proteins for our body. Protein is essential for cellular growth; muscle development, organ health, and a wide range of other metabolic activities that we need to remain healthy and happy!

Growing Up Is Fun But Really Stressful By An Adolescent

College is one of the most important phases in any personโ€™s life. There are some who enjoy these days by going to parties and watching movies and simply enjoy themselves, there are others who have to work and provide for to a family at the same time. This period, like any other period, in a personโ€™s life goes through in phases and with each phase comes an increasing level of stress. Some stress is good and is necessary, it is termed as Eustress. It is the minimum level of stress that keeps us motivated to do our best and thus is positive in nature. Some stress is negative and its constancy can cause us much harm, this kind of stress is known as Distress.

The first change that occurs with college is the absolute freedom we receive, and we are not always use to it and get carried away in the process. Important decisions are to be made, like what courses to choose and what career to follow? Whether to live at home or in a hostel? Students have to develop an ethical value system that is best suited to them. Once the courses are chosen, the most common reason for stress is grades. The students put themselves under a lot of pressure to perform better, the professors often tend to side

the ones who score high marks rather than focusing on how much the students learn, the pressure to perform together with the pressure to impress could lead to a lot of stress. Students who enter college on scholarship programs or those from low socio economic status who have the responsibility of caring and providing for the family, suffer the most. Some of them even take up part time jobs that leave them no time to relax.

Next in line are friends. Friends are the most important part of any ones life. Friends give our life meaning and to some extent help us find our inner self. Making new friends and adjusting with their lifestyles is never easy. Sometimes it may lead to change in the value system. In the shoes of a non-smoker, โ€œDo I really need to smoke to fit in the group?โ€ Sometimes individuals change their entire perspective on life. Deciding on giving in to peer pressure or to stick with your own values and judgments often lead to conflict and stress.

Love is another important change in an adolescentโ€™s life. There are different kinds of lovers. There are some who feel love is a game. Some feel it is something which would make them cool. Some are just flirting and then there are those who think love is eternal and forever. With these different perspectives sometimes different kinds of lovers get together. This could lead to a lot of stress. From one of my heart broken friends I got this, โ€œMy boyfriend

thinks love is just another game in life. If you are strong enough you will win the game or else you are a looser. Sex is just another parameter just like cloths or shoes in life.โ€ Many times sex is misunderstood and misused as love. Sometimes girls feel pressurized into being physical on the demand of their boyfriends. Sometimes it can lead to date rape or sexual harassment also. Most girls get too embarrassed to talk about it or seek much needed help; this resistance is very harmful to their mental and physical health.

With love and relationships come break-ups. Breakups are never easy. It can lead to self doubt, feeling depressed, and can sometimes also lead to a negative and poor self image. By the age of 17, most of the college students have had their heart broken and fallen in love all over again. By the time they are 18, they face different kind of stressors. Now they are official adults and have far more responsibilities. There is a conflict inside of them, as they

are not children and not totally adults. They have to find socially accepted ways to express themselves.

This is a period where adolescents usually face identity confusion. They are in the process of making an individual identity based on their on values. Sometimes these values go against the values of their parents and family systems. In a typical Indian society, there are a lot of gender related stressors. Adolescent girls are under the pressure of getting married, and many times against their will. She is expected to perform all the house hold functions

and duties and has to manage her education and homely duties which can be very stressful. She is expected to be humble and respectful and is many times not allowed to speak her mind. She is dominated by the wishes of her father and is given very little freedom. On the other hand the male child is encouraged to go out, and make a living. They are given more freedom than women.

These are few stressors that my surveys conclusively indicated. There are far too many that are faced by the adolescents of today. The stressors faces by adolescents today are far more different from the ones faces by their parents or even their elder siblings. The adolescents in our modern world are aware and willing to make a difference.

NATIONAL EDUCATION POLICY 2021- SALIENT FEATURES

BY DAKSHITA NAITHANI

Who created NEP (National Education Policy)?

The challenges that would occur in the Indian education system โ€“ from school to college to work โ€“ were examined by a panel of experts chaired by former ISRO chairman K Kasturirangan.

NEP- National Education Policy

The โ€œNew Education Policy 2020-2021โ€ was recently adopted by the Central Government Cabinet Committee. 2 crore schoolchildren would be reintegrated into the mainstream under the NEP 2020. With 12 years of schooling and 3 years of Anganwadi/Preschool, a new 5 + 3 + 3 + 4 curriculum was launched.

Anganwadi will provide pre-school education to children for the first three years. The students will then be educated in first and second grades for the following two years. First five years of study will be completed by a new curriculum which will be developed. Activity-based learning will be the main focus. It will be available to youngsters aged three to eight.

Preparatory stage โ€“ Classes three through five will be covered at this time. Children will be taught science, mathematics, the arts, and other subjects through experiments during this period. Children between the ages of 8 to 11 will be covered.

Middle Stage โ€“ These subject-based workshops will include grades 6-8, as well as students aged 11-14. Courses in skill development will begin in sixth grade.

The secondary stage- From ninth through twelfth grade, students will be divided into two groups for intense study of the topics. There will also be the option of picking and choosing subjects. Previously, this system did not exist in government pre-schools. From first grade through tenth grade, there was a general education programme.

With no clear distinction between academic streams, schools will focus a greater emphasis on extracurricular activities, professional development, reading, and numeracy. In accordance with the new policy 2020, vocational education will begin in the sixth grade. It will be mandatory to teach in the mother tongue / regional language till the fifth grade. Improvement of evaluation and tracking progress of students to accomplish learning goals, among other things, is covered with a full 360-degree progress card.

Other important changes in school education โ€“ Salient Features of #NEP2020

According to Dr. Kasturirangan, vocational education, led the committee created to approve the new education policy, and now the kid will get vocational education and skills beginning in the sixth grade. Internships will be available on a local level as well. Vocational education and skill development will be prioritised.

There will be no job losses as a result of the new education approach. The youngsters will receive the essential education in school for professional environment. The 10th and 12th grade Board examinations will be straightforward. The Board examinations for classes 10th and 12th will undergo modifications.

Exams conducted by the council will be undervalued. There are a lot of good ideas in this article. Exams, for example, should be given twice a year and divided into two portions, one objective and the other explanatory. When it comes to council examinations, students are always under pressure and rely on training to improve their grades. According to the education strategy, various councils will create a realistic model for board exams in the near future. Exams and units at the yearly and quarterly levels, for instance.

Changes will be made to children’s report cards, which will be used to evaluate their school achievement and performance. They will be graded on three different levels. The first will be a student, the second will be a classmate, and the third will be his teacher.

In 2019, the rough draft of NEP was introduced, and it received much praise as well as harsh criticism. The idea to declare Hindi one of the essential languages was quickly shot down. After that, the document was made public, and individuals and other stakeholders were asked to submit policy ideas for improvement.

Changes Made in Higher Education

50% Increase in GER

By 2035, the NEP intends to raise the existing GER (Gross Enrolment Ratio) from 26.3 – 50 percent. 3.5 Crore additional places in higher education would be added.

Interdisciplinary general education

The strategy aims to provide a complete, multidisciplinary, and broad-based college education with flexible plans, additional topic options, a greater emphasis on vocational education, and the ability to enrol and exit the programme with a recognised degree. For example, Certificate after 1 year, Advanced Diploma after 2 years, Degree after 3 years, License for research after 4 years.

India’s educational system is at a critical crossroads. On the one hand, it is expected to replace an out-of-date paradigm with the NEP 2020. New digital learning platforms and creative teaching approaches, on the other hand, are driving it to global standards and setting new milestones.

Any country’s education is judged by the quality of its human capital. A well-educated population with a high literacy rate is better prepared to take on social, economic, and political responsibilities responsibly while maintaining a broad understanding of global concerns. This is the goal embodied in the NEP 2020, which, if implemented well, would make education more comprehensive and enjoyable.

With the announcement to qualitatively improve 15,000 schools across India to adopt NEP in the Union Budget 2021-22 and these will act as role models for other schools to emulate. To maximise the benefits of the NEP, the education sector must harness the powers of technology in the future. This will result in a rising curve in the standard of education in India.

As we emerge from the coronavirus epidemic and begin a new academic year, it is critical to recognise the potential for change in Indian education as a consequence of these 3 forces: the National Education Policy (NEP) and the accompanying new platforms and teaching and learning methodologies.

CREATING A ROUTINE IN COVID: WHY IS IT SO IMPORTANT?

White Notebook With Black Pen

Owing the advent of Covid-19 pandemic last year, the entire world has turned upsideโ€”down. Almost everyone has been impacted by the pandemic after being forced to isolate and pursue their lives within the four walls of their house, till this trouble dies.

Unfortunately, not everyone has been able to deal with these times of crises in a healthy manner. With the entire foundation of everyoneโ€™s lives being shaken, the structure has collapsed; the routines have been destroyed. There is constant state of confusion that prevails in the minds of people as they have to constantly worry about what to do next, while trying to stay as productive as possible  and not waste away their days.

Here comes the role of routines; as humans thrive off of routines, forming an easy-to-follow routine can really help those feeling miserable in such confusing times.

Routines can be efficiently incorporated in our lives in pandemic in a number of ways:-

#1 CREATE A LIST

As our lives have been frazzled with a constant need to answer the question: โ€œwhat to do next?โ€ , forming a list of goals that can be achieved smoothly in a day helps us feel more fulfilled and productive. This ensures that when we go to bed at night, we sleep with a feeling of accomplishment.

#2 STAY HEALTHY

Whether it is to lose weight or a means of escapism from being cooped up within your house, exercising can provide us ease and peace as exercising produces endorphins or the โ€˜happy hormonesโ€™ in your body. Also, try to have meals 3 times a day in order to prevent binging on unhealthy snacks.

#3 EXPAND YOUR HORIZONS

With a major portion of our commute time to work/school being cut down, we surprisingly have a lot of time on our hands. Instead of wasting away the precious time, try to learn something new. It can be anything; picking up your once favourite past time of playing piano or learning a new language that could really help develop your CV.

#4 GET ADEQUATE SLEEP

A healthy sleep of 7 to 8 hours is necessary for our bodies to perform our best in our routinely tasks and stay on top of our game. However, with the beginning of the pandemic, people have really messed up their sleep schedules, which is quite unhealthy for them in the long run.

Hence, make sure to go to bed at the same time every night and get a good nightโ€™s rest to stay refreshed.

#5 TAKE BREAKS

While we set targets that have to be achieved everyday in order to be as active as possible, it quite essential to take short breaks between work. Play with your dog or try to make a cup of coffee for yourself. These breaks ensure a higher productivity in the various tasks that we execute throughout the day and at the same time, really enjoy the things that we do so life does not appear monotonous to us.

So, make sure to stay active but at the same time, take care of yourself!

Story of MBA Chaiwala

It’s sound very funny but when I watched the video and the journey of him I was inspired. Like what a deal and what an inspiration one could get from him.

He was planning and decided to MBA like any other individual would go with giving the entrance exams and clearing it with good marks. But the idea was struck into his mind if starting his own business and then opened a roadside thela in Ahemdabad along with the utensils of chai that he bought in 45 days. He dropped from his college and started his business with his job also. He worked at a restaurant where he served burgers and that’s where he got the inspiration of his own food business.

DOLPHINS ๐Ÿฌ

Dolphins are known for being smart, playful creatures that can learn to perform impressive tricks. But you might not know that dolphins are also champion nappers who have helped the U.S. Navy protect nuclear warheads.

DOLPHINS ARE EXCELLENT NAPPERS.

Since dolphins can’t breathe underwater, they need to swim up to the ocean’s surface to get air. So how do they sleep without drowning? Essentially, dolphins are champion power nappers. Rather than sleep for several hours at a time, they rest one hemisphere  of their brain for 15 to 20 minutes at a time, and they take these “naps” several times each day. By resting one hemisphere of their brain at a time, dolphins can continue swimming, breathing, and watching for predators 24/7.

DOLPHINS COMMUNICATE WITH CLICKS AND WHISTLES

Dolphins communicate with one another underwater by making a variety of vocalizations. To find prey and navigate the ocean, they make clicking sounds, and they “speak” to other dolphins by whistling. Dolphins also produce loud burst-pulse sounds when they feel excited or aggressive, such as when they need to scare off a nearby shark. Some female dolphins also produce a burst-pulse to reprimand their offspring, called calves, for bad behavior.

BUT DOLPHIN LANGUAGE REMAINS A MYSTERY.

Although marine scientists have studied and recorded dolphin vocalizations for decades, many aspects of the animalsโ€™ language and how they communicate are still unknown. Scientists have not yet broken down the individual units  of dolphin sounds, and they’re still searching for a Rosetta Stone that links the animals’ vocalizations to their behavior. By using new technologiesโ€”including algorithms and high-frequency recorders that work underwaterโ€”scientists hope to finally unlock the mystery of the dolphin language.

DOLPHINS USE ECHOLOCATION TO NAVIGATE.

To know where they are in relation to other objects and animals, dolphins use echolocation (a.k.a. biological sonar). After emitting a series of high-pitched clicks, they listen for the echoes to bounce off their surroundings. Based on these echoes, dolphins can judge where they are in space and determine the size and shape of nearby objects. Besides helping dolphins evade predators, echolocation allows them to trap, catch, and eat fish and squid.

DOLPHINS MAKE FRIENDS WITH OTHER DOLPHINS.

Dolphins are highly social, and scientists are still discovering fascinating details about how the aquatic mammals socialize with one another. In 2015, scientists at Florida Atlantic University’s Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute published research in the Marine Mammal Science journal about the social networks of dolphins. After spending over six years tracking 200 bottlenose dolphins in Florida’s Indian River Lagoon, the scientists discovered that dolphins have friends. Instead of spending equal time with the dolphins around them, the animals actually segregate themselves into friend groups. Just like humans, dolphins seem to prefer the company of certain peers more than others.

EACH DOLPHIN RESPONDS TO ITS OWN NAME.

Dolphins aren’t swimming around with name tags, but every dolphin has its own unique whistle. Scientists believe that dolphins use these signature whistles  for life, and female dolphins may even teach their calves their whistles before they’re born. Dolphins use their signature whistles to call out to one another and may be able to remember other dolphins’ whistles after decades apart.

THERE ARE 44 DIFFERENT DOLPHIN SPECIES.

Although bottlenose dolphins are the most well-known and recognizable, there are 43 other  dolphin species. Most species live in temperate and tropical oceans, but a few live in colder oceans or rivers. Depending on their species, dolphins can vary considerably in their physical attributes and behavior. For example, the largest dolphin species, the Orca (also called Killer Whale), can be 30 feet longโ€”10 times longer than the smallest dolphins.

DOLPHINS DON’T USE THEIR TEETH TO CHEW FOOD.

Dolphins have teeth, but they don’t use their chompers to chew food. Instead, dolphins use their teeth to catch prey (fish, crustaceans, and squid) and swallow it whole. Since they forgo-chewing , digestion occurs in their stomachโ€”or, more precisely, in part of their stomach. Dolphins have multiple stomach chambers, one of which is devoted to digestion, while the other chambers store food before it’s digested.

DOLPHINS TYPICALLY GIVE BIRTH TO JUST ONE CALF.

Depending on their species, most female dolphins (called cows) carry their babies for nine to 17 months before giving birth to a calf. Interestingly, calves are born tail first, rather than head first, so they don’t drown during the birthing process. After nursing for one to two years, a calf typically stays with its mother for the next one to seven years, before mating and having its own calves.

A DOLPHIN’S SKIN CAN BE REGENERATED EVERY TWO HOURS.

If you’ve ever swum with dolphins, you know their skin looks and feels super smooth and sleek. There’s a reason for thatโ€”a dolphin’s epidermis (outer layer of skin) can be sloughed off and replaced with new skin cells as often as every two hours. Because their skin regenerates so often, it stays smooth and, as most scientists believe, reduces drag as they swim.

DOLPHINS ARE NOT THE SAME AS PORPOISES.

To the untrained eye, dolphins and porpoises look nearly identical, and many people mistakenly think that porpoises are a type of dolphin. But the two species belong to completely different families and differ in their physical attributes. So how can you tell them apart? Dolphins, which are usually bigger than porpoises, typically haveย longer breaks ย and curved dorsal fins. Porpoises, on the other hand, have more triangular dorsal fins as well as spade-shaped (rather than conical) teeth.

HUNTING, OVERFISHING, AND RISING OCEAN TEMPERATURES THREATEN DOLPHINS.

Some dolphin species are endangered or functionally extinct (like China’sย baiji dolphin) due to hunting, overfishing, and pollution. Although dolphin meat is high in mercury, the animals are still hunted for their meat and eaten in parts of Japan and the Faroe Islands of Denmark. Overfishing means that dolphins’ food sources are shrinking, and some dolphins get caught up in fishing nets and die. Additionally, climate change and rising ocean temperatures are driving some fish and squid away from their natural habitats, putting dolphins’ main food sourceย at risk.

A SUPERPOD CAN CONSIST OF MORE THAN 1000 DOLPHINS.

Dolphins live in groups, called pods, that typically contain dozens or hundreds of dolphins. By swimming in aย pod, dolphins work together to hunt prey, evade predators, andย care for ย sick or injured members. But different pods can also merge, forming a superpod of more than 1000 dolphins. Superpods are typically temporary and occur in parts of the ocean with plentiful food (and less competition for tasty squid).

THE OLDEST DOLPHIN IN CAPTIVITY LIVED TO THE AGE OF 61.

Dolphin lifespan varies greatly by species. Most dolphins in the wild live for a few decades, while those in captivity have a drastically reduced lifespan and may live for only a few years. So it’s all the more shocking that the oldest dolphin in captivity lived to be a sexagenarian. Nellie, a bottlenose dolphin who lived in a marine entertainmentย park ย in Florida, was born in 1953. She appeared on TV shows and commercials andย performed tricksย for the park’s attendees before passing away in 2014.

A Journal a year

Photo by Jess Bailey Designs on Pexels.com

Journal, a record of the official statement or the record of the personal activity of the day or the entry of business details for the transaction or the news sheet according to the 17th century.

Even though most of us think that keeping a record of something you do every day is a lot to do, many of us by adapting this method have found out the secret it holds.

Journaling is something quite creative and yet it is so basic of whatever you are thinking, you are doing or you want to do.

Writing a journal is all about finding the right motivation and the push so that whatever you are writing you are enjoying as the journal is not about the diary or not about the decoration though it may act as a plus, it is surely all about the thought and facts you are choosing to write down or the information you are mentioning about each passing day or yours or anything else.

Journaling is the habit that can make you just believe more in whatever you trust on it is the drive that can keep you up when you are down in the driving force of life.

But it is not that easy to keep writing or recording the day-to-day deed so to tip it off for you guys this article is here.

A few minutes a day

We think writing and organizing your though in a particular format and manner is going to take a lot of time from your busy schedule right?

But, no it wonโ€™t as even when you are riding in the bus or switching the train with few hour gaps in between or stuck in the subway you just have to scribble the keyword which can sum up that particular dayโ€™s activity and for that, you donโ€™t even need to have the journal paper even your mobileโ€™s note will do and yup you did it and when you will be looking back then you will understand what and why you wrote it that way which is a helpful tool in making and tracking some of your important decision of life.

Not a pressure

Writing a journal seems like pressure to you? Then donโ€™t as itโ€™s not important to write it if you donโ€™t find peace with it.

Writing a journal is a way for some of us to cope with our thought storms resulting in way out of control Hollywood 2012โ€™s conclusion.

So. yeah write it when you want it but again some of us dodge this writing down process just because we think we going to write everything correctly if we are recording it but whom do you need to show for it to be all perfect?

No one right? As journaling is for you to track every day of your life not for others to get more reasons to judge you based on your thought process.

Conclusion

Concluding my article with saying that the importance of journaling is well explained by the Mystic Falls squad which is based on journaling only even though the entire thing has nothing to do with the reality it still is a fun way of getting inspired and bangs, writing everything out.

Positive Thinking And Your Creative Mind: 7 Steps To Success

You have a bright idea hidden somewhere in the back of your mind that you just canโ€™t wait to test out. The question is, do you really want to bring it out into the light? What could motivate you to churn your creative, inspiring juices to their utmost flavor?

Did you know that it always helps to set a time limit to your personal goals? Set yourself up so you can accomplish the most tasks in record time. For example, mowing the lawn in an hour before the big game on TV. A correct and positive attitude in whatever you do will make things easier, and even enjoyable.

Itโ€™s simple. If you begin to allow yourself a bit of positive thinking then you will begin to realize things that you never thought possible. Thinking big is indeed the American Way and that what made our country prosperous. You can follow other great Americans who tapped into their creative mind and began to thing big..

Discover some tips to make it through your first week of possibility thinking even if youโ€™re just sitting in your favorite couch. Your mind is constantly at work for you. Tap into itโ€™s great resource while doing everyday activities.

1. Act. You must take passionate action towards living your life by design. Talk is cheap. Action = deposits in the bank of a passionately authentic future. My mother (probably quoting someone else) always said, โ€œAction speaks louder than wordsโ€. Without action, passion is void.

Dreams become reality when you simply start by tinkering with your mind, then with your hands. And if the idea weakens or falters you can always go back to it later until you finish it. Thomas Edison and his Dream Team had to go back to the idea of a light bulb and recalculate it over 1,000 times before the first working light bulb begin to light the world.

2. Love. Commit to yourself. Then commit to those you love to powerfully create a life you can love. Instead of reacting, commit to creating from your heart and soul, out of love rather than fear. The American Dream will always be there, but a dream will still be a dream without motion. Be amazed as the transformation begins.

3. Live. Embrace moments and opportunities. Recognize and embrace the thought that each moment is perfect regardless of its outcome. Every time you hit on something that may appear too extreme why not give it a shot anyway. See if it will work. You may be surprised with the results. If you are not then decide to use that moment to learn from it and make the appropriate shift. Learning and growing from mistakes and failures is a part of living.

4. Be grateful. Dwell completely in a place of gratitude. Learn to utilize what you have in your hands and make use of it in the most constructive way. Necessity is the mother of invention. Have you ever been stuck without something you needed and had to make do with something else? (MacGyver, from the famous tv show, was famous for that!) How grateful were you that you had the means to solve your situation? Slipping into neediness will become less of a habit when you repeatedly shift towards gratitude and away from poverty consciousness.

5. Be Passionate. Use a Passion Formula of Recognize/Reevaluate/Restore in place of the Shoulda/Woulda/Coulda whirlwind. The former is based on increased knowledge and abundance while the latter focuses on scarcity and lack. As you face people or tasks that may seem harder than scaling the summit of the Himalayas, allow yourself to realize that the task is just as important as giving out orders to your subordinates. You would rather be richly passionate!

6. Laugh. Keep humor at the forefront of thought, laughing at and with yourself whenever possible. You may find yourself quite entertaining when you loosen up! I have yet to see a comedian ever go hungry even though his jokes are as โ€˜old as great-grandmaโ€™. Life has too much to offer to allow yourself to mope around in self pity. Humor is very attractive, very passionate: life-giving.

7. Discover Your Purpose. Believe that you are the architect of your destiny. Realizing how you wish to be remembered when you pass from this life is a truly driving force. Your purpose for being can be a seemingly simple as being a great parent to as elaborate as discovering miraculous cures.

When you have a strong purpose no one can take your passionate future from you except for you! Truly, as long as thereโ€™s still breath in your body, there is no end to how much you can accomplish in a lifetime. Discovering and following your purpose will enable you to enjoy your work. Celebrate in the discovery that acting on your creative mindโ€™s thoughts is fulfilling your purpose. Watch everything flow into place with perfect, passionate precision.

Activate your positive thinking. Stretch your imagination. Think bigger than you feel comfortable. Act on your thoughts. The number one tip here is action. You want to start practicing these steps.

Think about this: It is unfortunate that so many people still do not use a computer because it appears too complicated to begin using. Or maybe they just keep putting it off till a more convenient time. These are just a couple of limitations one can set up for themselves. Limitations and failure to act on ideas and opportunities leave many as a dim bulb in a dark corner.

Alert! You are not doomed to darkness. You are interested in living a life of purpose and love. The wonderful, creative idea in you is about to be released. You are interested in doing this because you are reading this article. Fortunately if you truly desire something, the will to attain it will open your creative mind to find a way.

Now you need only to begin to act on your desire to create. Act now! Make your path to creativity and follow your purpose. Take your first step today with a positive attitude.

Book review: “War and peace” by Leo Tolstoy

This is the second time I’ve read this book. The first was a copy I borrowed a few years ago, and now I’ve purchased one for my own library. I try to collect good books I really loved reading, and “War an peace” easily falls into this category.

It is an epic novel in the truest sense of “epic”. Stretching over a period of several decades, it masterfully describes the history of Russia from the end of the 18th century and into the first third of the 1800s. At more than 1600 pages, it is definitely one of the longest novels out there, but unlike many much shorter books, its length is well justified. I can barely count on the fingers of one hand the amount of times I felt some section is too long. Although Tolstoy is very thorough, his writing is easily readable and the pages just fly.

The books focuses on two main topics. One is the Russian-French wars of 1805 and 1812. Tolstoy describes the wars, and in particular the battles of Austerlitz (1805) and Borodino (1812) in vivid detail and apparently very accurately from a historic point of view. The characters of Napoleon and Kutuzov (the Russian army leader) take active part in the narration, with the lesser leaders (Bagration, de Tolli, Davoux) also getting enough attention to build a complete and interesting story. Specific events of the war are highlighted with the participation of the book’s main characters, like Andrey Bolkonsky, Nikolay Rostov and Pierre Bezoukhov.

The other is the high Russian society of that time. The book provides a very interesting and in-depth glimpse into this unusual society by today’s standards, somewhat modeled after, and thus similar to, other European societies (French, British, etc.). Tolstoy also presents the life in rural Russia a little, and the interrelations between the rich and the serfs, although he doesn’t spend on this topic nearly as much as in Anna Karenina.

The characters in the book are various and present the different ideas Tolstoy tries to infuse into his narration. They are all, without exception, extremely believable and well developed. I can’t think of many authors who know how to present and develop their characters as well as Tolstoy.

Additionally, the book presents plenty of interesting philosophical and scientific (“science of history”) ideas. The chief one is undoubtedly the question “What causes and shapes historical events?”. Contrary to the popular dogma that historical events are the result of actions of single notable persons (such as Napoleon or king Alexander), Tolstoy believes that such persons don’t really cause events, but rather can only affect them in some ways once they are already in existence. He claims that what really changes history is the amalgam of human actions, built from thousands, nay, millions of small decisions, desires and ambitions of the people. A historical version of chaos theory.

Well, this review can be arbitrarily long, and I have to wrap up at some point. I just want to address one important issue – the book’s name. In Russian, the book’s name is “Voina i mir”, which may mean “War and peace” but may also mean “War and society”, since “peace” and “society” are homonyms in Russian. There are differences of opinion as to which Tolstoy actually meant when he authored the book, as you can readย hereย or more at lengthย hereย (Russian). Personally, I firmly believe that the “War and society” translation is more correct. It is very obvious that Tolstoy places a lot of emphasis on society in the book. Pierre compares his experiences in the society with his war adventures to form philosophical opinions. The same for Andrey. I can barely see any mention of peace in its “non-war” sense in the book.

A thread to tie

Photo by Erika Pugliese on Pexels.com

It is just a thread, but it can hold so many emotions and feelings representing the unbreakable bond of sister and brother. The ancient root of this festival is deeply rooted in the idea of the all-life protection of sisters from every evil out there by their brothers. The tying thread on the wrist of the brother is the symbol of his blessing and a promise which they service throughout their lives in every up and down of the sisterโ€™s life.

As the auspicious day of Rakhi is celebrated today on this very day of Purnima, letโ€™s find out its importance and a glance at its past.

History

The history of any festival is very enriched and secures great importance in todayโ€™s life. As we are pacing fast with the changing time, we are somewhere just enjoying the festival. We are so not into why and when of their origins.

But donโ€™t worry with few incidents which can show how important the tying of the thread is in our culture I have written them in this article.

Draupadi:

Once when Krishna Ji was using his Sudarshan Chakra on the King Shisupala, during the time he injured his finger which Draupadi Ji tried to treat by wrapping the piece of her cloth around Krishna Jiโ€™s finger and that time Krishna Ji vowed to always protect Draupadi from all the evil.

That is the importance of tying thread around the wrist on the festival of Rakshabandhan nowadays.

A Peace Offering

During the time of the Britishers, they believed in the rule and divide policy which did have many severe effects on the relationship of the mostly Hindu and Muslims,

To overcome this difference between themselves our freedom fighters tried to mend the relationship between the two by saying we are brother and sister of the same mother nation and that is why many women of both sides at the time tied the Raksha thread to ensure and again build the trust and love of brotherhood and sisterhood between two different mindsets.

DEEP LEARNING SERIES- PART 10

This is the last article in this series. This article is about another pre-trained CNN known as the ResNet along with an output visualization parameter known as the confusion matrix.

ResNet

This is also known as a residual network. It has three variations 51,101,151. They used a simple technique to achieve this high number of layers.

Credit – Xiaozhu0429/ Wikimedia Commons / CC-BY-SA-4.0

The problem in using many layers is that the input information gets changed in accordance with each layer and subsequently, the information will become completely morphed. So to prevent this, the input information is sent in again like a recurrent for every two steps so that the layers donโ€™t forget the original information. Using this simple technique they achieved about 100+ layers.

ResNet these are the three fundamentals used throughout the network.

  (conv1): Conv2d (3, 64, kernel_size= (7, 7), stride= (2, 2), padding= (3, 3))

  (relu): ReLU

  (maxpool): MaxPool2d(kernel_size=3, stride=2, padding=1)

These are the layers found within a single bottleneck of the ResNet.

    (0): Bottleneck

  1    (conv1): Conv2d(64, 64, kernel_size=(1, 1), stride=(1, 1))

  2    (conv2): Conv2d(64, 64, kernel_size=(3, 3), stride=(1, 1), padding=(1, 1))

  3    (conv3): Conv2d(64, 256, kernel_size=(1, 1), stride=(1, 1))

      (relu): ReLU(inplace=True)

   Down sampling

   Conv2d(64, 256, kernel_size=(1, 1), stride=(1, 1))

    (1): Bottleneck

  4    (conv1): Conv2d(256, 64, kernel_size=(1, 1), stride=(1, 1))

  5    (conv2): Conv2d(64, 64, kernel_size=(3, 3), stride=(1, 1), padding=(1, 1))

  6   (conv3): Conv2d(64, 256, kernel_size=(1, 1), stride=(1, 1))

      (relu): ReLU(inplace=True)

    )

    (2): Bottleneck

  7    (conv1): Conv2d(256, 64, kernel_size=(1, 1), stride=(1, 1))

  8    (conv2): Conv2d(64, 64, kernel_size=(3, 3), stride=(1, 1), padding=(1, 1))

  9   (conv3): Conv2d(64, 256, kernel_size=(1, 1), stride=(1, 1))

   (relu): ReLU

There are many bottlenecks like these throughout the network. Hence by this, the ResNet is able to perform well and produce good accuracy. As a matter of fact, the ResNet is the model which won the ImageNet task competition.

There are 4 layers in this architecture. Each layer has a bottleneck which comprises convolution followed by relu activation function. There are 46 convolutions, 2 pooling, 2 FC layers.

TypeNo of layers

1*1, k=64 + 3*3, k=64+1*1, k=256 convolution9

There is a particular aspect apart from the accuracy which is used to evaluate the model, especially in research papers. That method is known as the confusion matrix. It is seen in a lot of places and in the medical field it can be seen in test results. The terms used in the confusion matrix have become popularized in the anti-PCR test for COVID.

The four terms used in a confusion matrix are True Positive, True Negative, and False positive, and false negative. This is known as the confusion matrix.

True positive- both the truth and prediction are positive

True negative- both the truth and prediction are negative

False-positive- the truth is negative but the prediction is positive

False-negative- the truth is positive but the prediction is false

Out of these the false positive is dangerous and has to be ensured that this value is minimal.

We have now come to the end of the series. Hope that you have got some knowledge in this field of science. Deep learning is a very interesting field since we can do a variety of projects using the artificial brain which we have with ourselves. Also, the technology present nowadays makes these implementations so easy. So I recommend all to study and do projects using these concepts. Till then,

DEEP LEARNING SERIES- PART 9

This article is about one of the pre-trained CNN models known as the VGG-16. The process of using a pretrained CNN is known as transfer learning. In this case, we need not build a CNN instead we can use this with a modification. The modifications are:-

  • Removing the top (input) and bottom (output) layers
  • Adding input layer with size equal to the dimension of the image
  • Adding output layer with size equal to number of classes
  • Adding additional layers (if needed)

The pre-trained model explained in this article is called the VGGNet. This model was developed by the Oxford University researchers as a solution to the ImageNet task. The ImageNet data consists of 10 classes with 1000 images each leading to 10000 images in total.

VGGNet

This is the architecture for VGGNet. This has been found for the CIFAR-10 dataset, a standard dataset containing 1000 classes. This was used for multiclass classification. Some modifications are made before using it for detecting OA. The output dimension is changed into 1*1*2 and the given images must be reshaped to 224*224 since this dimension is compatible with VGGNet. The dimensions and other terms like padding, stride, number of filters, dimension of filter are chosen by researchers and found optimal. In general, any number can be used in this place.

The numbers given below the figure correspond to the layer number. So the VGGNet is 13 layered and is CNN till layer 10 and the rest are FNN.

As the layer number increases,

  1. The dimension decreases.
  2. The filter number increases.
  3. Filter dimension is constant.

Science and technology : Solar energy

A very much known form of energy nowadays. Today’s article is about solar energy and it’s science and technology. As we all know the fact that Sun is the ultimate source of energy for every organism present on Earth. Sun provides the required energy to all and nourish them in the form of sunlight rays radiated on the Earth. For the balance of life, to make it happen sunlight is the most important part in the ecosystem.

The concept of solar energy evolves around trapping the light and utilising it in the form of energy that can be used by the people. Earth is blessed with biodiversity and the main sources are sun, air and water of this system. To live life every organism need these sources. Energy can be renewable and non renewable. Sunlight is such an example of renewable energy resource.

In context to India we see that India is a country where there is ultimate sunlight present. For understanding this, think on the facts that are as follows – We know that North India receives maximum sunlight in the month of April to June whereas Southern part of India receives sunlight all throughout the year, the desert areas are also an source to this. The conversion of sunlight into the form of electricity will be useful to the population of India as the demand of electricity is increasing day by day and will not harm the environment or increase the global warming.

For this government and environmental activists have given suggestions and a way to generate solar electricity by installing solar panels on the rooftop or on the land wherever they are comfortable with. It not only reduces the cost and demand of electricity but also creates a source of income for them. The implementation of this scheme will create new job opportunities also.

This concept has also been discussed at national and international conferences and many have supported it. By 2024 we’ll be generating solar energy at huge level. Solar energy is the future in the upcoming years and many have already started working on it. 3 Most important time management techniques

Everyone gets 24 hours a day but those who have ability to get maximum out of these 24 hours are classified as successful. Time management is the key to convert 24 hours into 25 hours. In simple words time management is process of organizing and dividing your time into various activities.

It’s about simplifying how you work and getting things done better and faster. It’s about working smarter. It is a game of choices. You have to make a choice about how you want to use your precious time. So if you are interested in improving your time management skills, check out these cool techniques.

Eat that frog

Brian Tracy says โ€œYou cannot eat every tadpole and frog in the pond. But you can eat the biggest and ugliest one, and that will be enough, at least for the time being.โ€

Identify your most important task of the day, this is your frog. It is the most impactful task of your day so begin your day by tackling this frog. Start this work and do this without any interruptions. This will bring an early win in your day which will build the momentum and sense of accomplishment.

But what if you have multiple frogs? Eat the biggest frog first. So instead of doing easy tasks first, do the difficult ones.

The Pomodoro technique

It is one of the most simple yet effective time management technique. This technique forces you to do single task so that your brain can focus on only one thing at a time as switching between tasks reduces productivity.

According to this technique turn off all distractions and set a timer for 25 minutes. During that time you will only focus on that work. After 25 minutes take a break of 5 minutes. After repeating this process for 4 times, take a long break.

The reason why it is successful is that it creates a sense of urgency as you have only 25 minutes to make as much progress as you can. Also it forces you to take a break which keeps you fresh throughout the day.

The Eisenhower Matrix

Prioritizing your tasks is a crucial part of time management as you may be spending hours doing useless things. The Eisenhower Matrix( urgent-important matrix) helps you in discovering your important tasks.

This matrix divides all your tasks into 4 quadrants:

  1. Urgent and important: These are the most important tasks of your day. You have to do these tasks at any cost. This quadrant include crisis and deadline driven tasks.
  2. Not urgent and important: These are important tasks but can be delegated like business planning, building relationships. As these tasks are not urgent you can schedule them in near future.
  3. Urgent and not important: These are tasks like interruptions, non important email etc. As these tasks are not important delegate them instead of completing them now.
  4. Non important and non urgent: These tasks are distractions and time wasters like playing video games. Just eliminate these tasks and focus on important ones.

To make this matrix, write down all your task and insert each task in respective quadrant. To be more productive spend more time on Not urgent but important activities as these tasks are meaningful to you but not urgent.

So these are some time management techniques, try to implement them every morning and get the best out of your precious time.

The Seven Wonders-Moral Story

Anna was a 9-year-old girl from the small village.  She finished attending elementary school till 4th grade at her village.  For the 5th grade onwards, she will have to get an admission in a school at a city nearby.  She got very happy knowing that she was accepted in a very reputed school in a city.  Today was the first day of her school and she was waiting for her school bus.  Once the bus came, she got in it quickly.  She was very excited.

Once the bus reached to her school, all students started going to their classes.  Anna also made it to her classroom after asking fellow students for direction.  Upon seeing her simple clothing and knowing she is from a small village, other students started making fun of her.  The teacher soon arrived and she asked everyone to keep quiet.  She introduced Anna to the class and told that she will be studying with them only from today.

Then the teacher told the students to be ready for the surprise test now!  She told everyone to write down the 7 wonders of the world.  Everyone started writing the answer quickly.   Anna started to write the answer slowly.

When everyone except Anna had submitted their answer paper, the teacher came and asked Anna, โ€œWhat happened Dear? ย Donโ€™t worry, Just write what you know as other students have learnedย about it just a couple of days backโ€.

Anna replied, โ€œI was thinking that there are so many things, which 7 I can pick to write!โ€   And, then she handed her answer paper to the teacher.  The teacher started reading everyoneโ€™s answers and the majority had answered them correctly such as The Great Wall of China, Colosseum, Stonehedge,  Great Pyramid of Giza, Leaning Tower of Pisa, Tajmahal, Hanging Gardens of Babylon etc.

The teacher was happy as students had remembered what she had taught them.  At last the teacher picked up Annaโ€™s answer paper and started reading.

โ€œThe 7 Wonders are โ€“ To be able to See, To be able to Hear, To be able to Feel, To Laugh, To Think, To be Kind, To Love!โ€

The teacher stood stunned and the whole class was speechless. ย Today, a girl from the small village reminded them about the precious gifts that god has given us, which are truly a wonder.

Moral: ย Value what you have, use what you have, trust what you have. ย You donโ€™t always have to look away to find an inspiration. ย God has given you all the strength to reach your goals.

1. Blockchain & DeFi

Blockchain is probably one of the dearest technologies of today. After all, we badly need a system that is free of middlemen and intermediaries and is fully transparent. And blockchain offers exactly that.

Blockchain is a digital ecosystemย that is managed solely by its users. There are no owners or intermediaries in a blockchain network.

Itโ€™s a distributed, decentralized network that consists of thousands of nodes (computers) that are interconnected.

Each transaction in a blockchain network is processed through and verified by all the nodes in the network, which means the probability of failure or human error is nil.

Also, the blockchain network is public and, therefore, fully transparent. Itโ€™s not governed or managed by any single/centralized entity.

Blockchain technology has potential applications in a variety of sectors, including finance, digital security, voting, cloud computing, medicine, cross-border payments, identity security, cryptocurrency exchange, security tokenization, and more.

Along with blockchain, another system or technology that has emerged as aย winner in the modern times is DeFi, or Decentralized Finance, which refers to the use of decentralized technology such as blockchain in the finance market.

Possible Defi applications include peer-to-peer lending and borrowing, p2p investments, p2p shopping, and others.

As the growth of the internet is apparent, so is the probability of cyber threats. Cyber Security is the technology aspect that deals with the security of users and data from a range of internet threats such as hacking, malware, phishing, DoS attack, and others.

Cybersecurity is as important, or maybe more, as the internet itself. In the last decade or so, we have come across many cases of cybercrimes.

There are even designated police to handle such crimes related to cybersecurity. So, the need for cybersecurity is apparent and so is the need for applications and platforms that deal with cybersecurity.

Whether you are looking to build your business on next-gen technology or planning to learn new technology to upgrade your career, Cyber Security is one of the best options today.

5. 5G Network

5G, which stands for the 5th Generation mobile network technology, is an upcoming technology that will offer the internet at a faster speed with the ability to connect multiple devices at the same time with a single hub.

The 5G technology is almost here, which makes it the best time to start creating applications or next-gen solutions on 5G.

The 5G technology when combined with other state-of-the-art techs such as robotics and IoT can present numerous business opportunities.

It will boost the performance of IoT networks by providing a more stable and high-performance internet connection.

Other possible use cases include 5G cloud robotics, machine remote control, autonomous vehicles, industrial automation, and more.

Depending on your particular expertise or industry, you can start building 5G applications to help your customers and boost your business growth.

6. IoT (Internet Of Things)

Internet of Things (IoT) is a term coined first in 1999, which refers to a network consisting of a variety of physical objects.

In the modern world, that network is often referred to as the internet that connects multiple devices and, therefore, allows different devices in the same network to communicate (for the purpose of exchanging data) with each other.

The best modern example of IoT would be Smart Homes, where multiple objects or devices such as TV, refrigerator, smartphone, AC, etc.

Are connected through the home network (internet) and can be controlled using a common interface, both through physical means and voice guidance.

IoT is one of the biggest technology revolutions of our time. It has numerous applications in a variety of niches. If realized properly, it can make processes more effective and cost-efficient.

Build your next application or business on IoT using our expert IoT development services.
