Continuation of: boy with striped pajamas; chapter 5

Bruno couldn’t stop thinking about the children. He kept on peeping through the window to check what the children were doing. Bruno found the people disturbing and he wanted to know more about them.On the other side, Gretel would also notice the people far away. Even Though Bruno managed to live in Out-with for a week and 3 days, he couldn’t be there any more. He totally missed Berlin and his friends, Karl, Daniel and Martin. A few days later, Bruno decided to talk with Maria about the ridiculous children and this terrible house.

In the evening, someone knocked on the door. It was a polite knock, it was Maria. โ€œ Come in! โ€œ, Bruno gave permission. โ€œI need to clean the floor. Can I turn off the fan? โ€œ โ€œ Okay, sure! Please turn on the air conditioner.โ€ Bruno spoke kindly. He knew this was the right time to speak. He was sure Maria would understand. Maria switched off the fans and turned on the air conditioner, and started to vacuum. Bruno started, โ€œ Maria? Don’t you want to go back to Berlin? You are just staying here for your sake. You don’t feel comfortable here right?โ€ Bruno wanted Maria to accept with him. But she didn’t.

โ€œ Of Course not. I just be wherever your parents tell me to be. Well, Bruno, are you still not settled here yet? I feel this house is very pleasant and niceโ€ Maria answered. Bruno didn’t accept this. He burst into angriness and shouted โ€œ No! How can this house be a pleasant house? How? How will it be a good house with weird children wearing the same clothes and laughing, far away? Berlin was better! Totally better.โ€ he knew he wasn’t supposed to shout at anyone. He felt a little guilt inside him. There was a moment of silence. Maria stared at Bruno, and Bruno was about to burst out into tears. Suddenly someone banged the door open. โ€œ Bruno! What was that noise?โ€ It was Gretel. โ€œ i couldn’t even concentrateโ€ฆโ€ Gretel saw Brunoโ€™s eyes, the tears were floating. She knew it was not the right time to shout at him.

She went near Bruno and sat on the bed next to him. Maria left the room, to give some personal space. โ€œ Hey, you okay?โ€ asked Maria. โ€œ the kid. He disturbs me. What is he doing?โ€ โ€œ You saw him too? I know, he is pretty weird. He doesn’t even sleep. โ€œ answered Maria. โ€œ What are they doing in there? Is it a jail? Are they locked in there? Questioned Bruno with curiosity. โ€œ I think so, or they just live there. ” But, why are they dirty, wearing the same clothes and why aren’t they moving around? Bruno moved on. โ€œ They are just poor Bruno, and it’s their home. But, I don’t know why they are all wearing the same dress. Especially that kid. Why doesn’t he sleep? He always walks around like he is thinking something seriously.โ€ Answered Maria by doubting herself.

โ€œ Okay, time to eat Bruno, let’s go. โ€œ Maria left expecting Bruno to join her. Bruno followed her downstairs and had dinner. Bruno couldn’t stop thinking about the people who live there. And especially that kid. That kid who used to stare at bruno sometimes. The kid who doesn’t sleep. He was weird, but he did look upset and pitiful. The kid’s face would strike through Brunoโ€™s head every minute. The kid was bald, a little fair, short and dirty.

Bruno went to bed. But he didn’t sleep. He wanted to know more about the people, about the kid. It was 9:30 at night. He should have been asleep by now, according to the rules. But he couldn’t. Suddenly someone opened Brunoโ€™s door slightly. Bruno jerked and tried looking for who it was. Someone peeped in. It was Maria. She came in slowly and checked if Bruno was sleeping. She came closer and realised Bruno wasn’t asleep yet. โ€œ Why aren’t you asleep? โ€œ โ€œ . I was going to sleep, but you freaked me out for a second. โ€œ Bruno lied even though it was against the rules. He didn’t want to make Maria upset by knowing that Bruno was still thinking about the kid.

โ€œBruno, you are just thinking about unnecessary things now. If you are talking about the people far away, they are just poor people. Don’t think too farโ€ said Maria โ€œ but, why are they dressed the same? โ€œ asked Bruno. Maria took a deep breath and answered, โ€œ Bruno, please don’t complicate it. They are locked in there. That’s all!โ€ โ€œ So are they in jail?โ€ Bruno asked out of curiosity. โ€œ Yes, they are trapped but in an open space. They all are under control. Bruno, your mother might come anytime, so now please go to sleepโ€

โ€œ Wait! Why are they even trapped? If they are trapped, then why don’t anyone go help them?โ€ questioned Bruno. โ€œ Ahhh too many questions Bruno. Now, it’s time to sleep. Like I told you, they are trapped because they are under controlโ€
Bruno thought for a while โ€œ And why doesn’t anybody help them?โ€ Maria totally lost it, she went back to the door like she was going to leave โ€œ Please no more questions. I came here to make sure you were asleep, not answer questions. Come on, close your eyes. Good night! โ€œ Maria left with a smile.
โ€˜ why doesn’t anyone want to help them?โ€™ wondered Bruno

A Thriller Piece: The Maze

Photo by Tucu0103 Bianca on Pexels.com

The maze was dark. He could see a huge fire torch lit up in the distance. It was large enough to see that he was in a maze. He was in a different world. Somewhere totally different. Louis wanted to go back home, but some curiosity inside, pulled him to go further. He thought the end would be soon, but it wasn’tโ€ฆ

He took a few steps, and then โ€˜ oops! โ€˜. he tripped on something rocky. He bent down to take a closer look. He was able to smell something different and cheesy. He felt strange. It was covered with mud. He used his hands to remove the mud. When he saw it, it was white and bony. Yes, it was a skeleton. A dead body. Louis was now shaking.

He slowly stood up, and looked around. He saw torned clothes, bones, insects, tools, blood stains and fire burns around him. He realised that the whole place is now filled with dead bodies. Something has happened here. Something totally strange. He went near the walls, they were burnt too. He slowly touched the walls, it felt rough. He was not really sure of what the walls were made of. But, it just felt rough. Was this whole maze burnt? And that is why the people died? Did someone take over this place? Did anyone know that there is a place like this? These questions were fighting against each other in Louis’ mind. Will he get an answer for his questions?

He went further and further by trying to get out of the maze and observing everything around him. Then he stopped. He saw a torn t- shirt on the ground. It looked familiar. He has seen it somewhere. He tried looking more sharper. The smell was now stronger. He held his breath, went closer and took it up. He shook it a little, when he saw a letter inside the t-shirt. It was not clear. It looked like someone scratched the letter in a rough wall. He slowly tried to find out what the letter was about. All he got was this.

Get out Not safe.

Reli

Louis was shakingโ€ฆ he knew it. It was relic. But how? Did relic come here before me? the writing was not completed. It looked like someone grabbed relic away before he could finish. There were blood drops in the letter. Did a war take place?

Louis couldn’t stop thinking about relicโ€ฆ he was still. Forcing himself not to drop a tear. He couldn’t help it. Tears jumped out of his eyes. โ€œ You were the one who wanted us to come here. You were the one. But now you’re not here with me?!What am I doing?I was selfish! Why am I here! No! โ€œ he was now showering with tears. He frustratedly looked around searching for the doorkeeper. โ€œ where are you? You coward! Where are you? Just let me go! Where is relic? Give him back to me!โ€ Louis cried.

Someone laughed, the voice echoed. Louis looked around surprised. Someone was coming closer. He could hear the footsteps coming closer and closer. Louis moved back a little. The shadow appeared. It was a man. An old man.

The old man looked at Louis and said,โ€œ Get out of here as soon as possible. You might be dead soon. I am the only one who is still alive here. Nobody knows. Don’t tell him. Shhโ€ฆโ€ the old man warned. โ€œ Dont tell who? questioned louis. โ€œ you will know soon. Get out of here safely to reach home. Figure out how to escape from the maze. There is a secret way to escape, but I don’t know where it is. Figure it out. I wanted to help you. But nobody cared. Now I am telling you. ESCAPE. Just escape.โ€

Louis had infinite questions. But he had no time. โ€œ I am sorry. Thank you. Come with me. Let’s go!โ€ The old man smirked and said, โ€œ IMPOSSIBLE. Just run son. Just run. โ€œ
Louis hesitated, and had no choice, but to run. He ran wherever he could go. He never stopped. Louis realised the maze never ended.

It went on and on, or maybe he was running around and around. Louis stopped. He walked for a while, and then again stopped. He jumped on where he was. The sound was different compared to the ground. It was a huge โ€˜ THUD โ€˜. louis bent down and placed his ears near the ground. His eyes widened. He knew this particular area was different from others. He looked around for any tool that he could find to dig in. There was a rusted rod tangled with blood stained clothing. Louis quickly got up and pushed himself to take out the rod from the cloth.
He tried beating it hard to the ground. It made a greater echoing sound. Then, Louis tried digging with the rod, while his hands helped him too. Finally there he was. There was a round steel door like thing. Louis knew this was the escape route and he used his full power to open the door. The door creaked and louis opened itโ€ฆ

His eyes widened. there was a long creepy path, it looked like no one ever lived there. There was nothing inside. Louis saw a light source in the distance. He closed the door to make sure no one would see. This place was under this ground and nobody knew?Louis was so scared but he had to escape. He slowly moved on, totally terrifiedโ€ฆ

He went near the light source as soon as possible, so that his fear level would be reduced. As Louis was in the middle of his terrifying journey, he couldn’t hear a single sound.Nobody was around. Now, he was near the light source. It was a fire torch attached to the wall. He took the torch in his hands and moved on. It felt like the path never ended. He couldn’t see the beginning and the end. He was in the MIDDLE of the path, confused.

Louis decided to move on, he knew there would be an end. But his legs were hurting a lot as he roamed around too much. He didn’t give up. He rested in the middle and boosted himself up to go on. Finally he saw the same door again at the other end. Louis felt relieved as he pushed the door openโ€ฆ

He was there. As expected, he was back into his own world. But it looked like he was in a shop. Louis took a long breath and checked around to make sure where he was. He has already seen this shop. He realised he was in a milkshake shop that he used to come after school sometimes. But no one was there in the shop. He looked back, and noticed the door. It vanishedโ€ฆ Louis couldn’t believe it. But he didnโ€™t care, he BELIEVED that he was back to his own world. Louis slowly came out of the shop.

It was a normal day with people around. Louis was now the happiest person in the world. He amazingly looked around like he had never seen the real world before. Louis didn’t know where to go, and he remembered that relicโ€™s house was behind the shop. Louis walked 2 streets and was now in front of his friends house. His dead friend’s houseโ€ฆ
Louis hesitated. He didn’t know how to inform his parents about relicโ€™s death, but he had to. Louis rang the bell. It was relicโ€™s mom who opened the door. Louis wanted to cry and apologize to her.Louis didn’t see relics mom’s face. He didn’t want to. He couldn’t face her. He held his tears, and with a broken voice Louis started, โ€œ I am sorry, I am really sorryโ€ฆ” Louis started to break down in tears. โ€œ It was not my mistake. Relic was the one. He wanted to go there. I escaped, but relicโ€ฆ I am sorry.โ€

No one made a noise for a minute. Louis looked up. He was surprised. Relicโ€™s mom had a normal kind face. โ€œ Honey. I think you have mistaken the door. But, it looks like you lost someone. Don’t worry, it will be alright. โ€œ Louis looked confused. โ€œ No! No! I am right. You are relicโ€™s mom. It’s your son! It’s RELIC!! โ€œ

She looked worried. โ€œ Is everything okay there, hon? โ€œ It was her husband. Relicโ€™s father. โ€œ There is some kid here. I think he is mistaken.โ€ she replied. โ€œ no! It’s me! Louis, relicโ€™s friend!โ€ Relicโ€™s dad came near the door. โ€œHey kid, please dont disturb us. We don’t know anything you are saying. Please leave. โ€œ Louis had no choice, but to leave, with tears.
Louis was very confused. He walked a long way. He didn’t know where he was going. All his thoughts were about relic and his parents. He couldn’t believe that his own parents forgot him. That was not possible. Is it maybe that the ones who died in the other world have totally vanished from here?

Louis quickly thought that going back to the maze is the only way he can save relic. His only buddyโ€ฆ Louis bravely ran back to the tunnel. He was tired. He was exhausted. He was in pain. But he ran. He ran, for his only dead friend. He will be back, he believed. He purely believed. He will be back. He will be back for me.

CONFIDENCE : THE KEY TO SUCCESS

Woman Wearing Blue Shawl Lapel Suit Jacket

In today’s day and age, confidence works as an important factor in determining our place within the various social, political and cultural arenas of the society we all live in. With the right mindset and a good confidence, we can achieve really great things in life that would not be otherwise possible to acquire with a low confident mindset. It ca aid people in achieving their highest of dreams. Like the saying goes. “Rome was not built in day”, great speakers too take years of hard work and practice in order to inculcate confidence that is worthy of mentioning. No one is born confidence. However, some people, unfortunately, fail to realize this and as a result of it, their confidence levels go even down. While everyone has their own strengths and weakness, low confidence can influence the daily lives of people who deal with self esteem issues and are extremely anxious and nervous in public meetings. While everyone learns to garner their confidence overtime, it requires an active and actual effort to fully flourish and grow.

Now, let’s discuss some of the ways in which can develop our confidence. Firstly, Focus on the positive: Identifying and nit-picking positive aspects of our everyday lives is an extremely hectic job indeed. However, it is in our hands to have a positive outlook towards various arenas comprising our point of view. Doing the things you love, surrounding yourself with people that love and cherish you as well as developing habits that promote positivity can have a significant impact on your self confidence, as you will only focus on the good things instead of automatically drawing not-so-positive conclusion.

Secondly, Take care of yourself :One of the sure shot ways through which you can instantly improve your self-confidence is through self-grooming and cleanliness. In fact, hygiene plays an important role in bettering our overall mood and mindset. Just taking a cold shower early in the morning can help you work on your confidence, making you feel refreshed as you become ready to seize the day and make it yours!

Furthermore, as we require cleanliness externally, we need to also focus on the cleanliness from within; eating good foods that promote our health and well-being of your body. Eating healthy foods like vegetables, fruits and whole grains instead of processed foods, helps our body to get rid of any toxins present within it. Another point worth mentioning is the significance of meditation and how it further cleanses our mind. It can help us promote positive and impactful thinking that may have a great affect on our overall mental health.

Thirdly, Be kind: while it is not possible for us to act kind and generous in every circumstance that we come across, but it certainly does not hurt to try. Being kind ca have major impact on our outlook towards the world. Kindness only attracts more kindness. Being kind gives you a satisfactory feeling of warmth within your heart makes you feel good about yourself. So, be kind to everyone and to yourself too.

In conclusion, developing confidence is a skill that requires major hard work of years to polish. However once it has developed,we have a tool that can take us places!

3 Must-learn programming languages for developers in 2021

Photo by Kevin Ku on Pexels.com

Amidst the pandemic, it is essential to understand the major skills and a quick peep into the most in demand tech jobs that may help professionals to grow and explore various career prospects.

Especially with the evolving technology, which is offering innumerable job opportunities, for fresh graduates and even experienced programmers who are willing to learn the innovative trends that are emerging into the world of programming.

For a few the chances might be minimum in the growing tech market due to skills being mismatched. Therefore, to supersede this obstacle, we tailored 3 top programming skills which have high demand in the tech world today:

1. C++
The post-pandemic work that has forced people to work from home has seen an enormous rise in demand for cloud adoption. Various problems of data breaches have forced companies to come up with a greater budget for security purposes. The day-to-day cybersecurity threat is getting worse. So, if one wants to prosper in the said field, should be highly fascinated with IT not just that, sometimes it is even required more than that. Having command over various programming languages like C++ will make it easier. The demand for cybersecurity professionals with C++ skills has been rising especially with the rising cybersecurity cases globally.

2. Python
AI and ML are rising unexpectedly, mostly during pandemic times as businesses have been stuck in the digital world having no other way out than opting for AI and ML. For an AI engineer, it requires both the knowledge of technical and non-technical skills. A fastest-growing industry like this needs an ample amount of people with proper skills and knowledge. Well, Python is considered by experts the most suitable programming language for Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Natural Language Processing.

3. Rust
If one is starting a career in the world of programming they should be highly equipped with the knowledge of Python and JavaScript which forms the very base of it the reason being as they have a wide number of applications and have been used for many years. However, 2021, which is full of different things has something new to offer for people who aspire to be a programmer. In a survey, it was found that Rust was the most loved programming language which has been gaining prominence for the past few years.

Acting as an alternative for C++. Useful mostly for people who are looking for problem-solving techniques when they are working on large-scale applications. Offering a new atmosphere to programmers is highly functional helping developers remove bugs caused by C++.

Various courses are available with projects for hands-on experience.

Programming Languages: Choose Wisely?

languages cybersecurity

Weโ€™ve got decades of experience in programming and language adoption under our belt at this point, and there are a few things we can say definitively that developers in general (and DevOps engineers specifically) should be aware of.

First, it doesnโ€™t matter as much as you think. It really doesnโ€™t. Most developers donโ€™t choose programming languages based on important things like optimization or general applicability. They choose a language based on ease of use, availability of third-party libraries and simplification of things like UI. Open source version availability helps, but only insofar as it spawns more third-party libraries. So, use the language that works best for the project, and donโ€™t get too hung up on whether or not itโ€™s the newest shiny one.

Second, the changes in use and adoption that matterโ€“the top five to 10 languages that make up the vast majority of all professional programming activityโ€“donโ€™t happen overnight. Both JavaScript and Python are considered โ€œrapid ascentโ€ in terms of uptake when they took off โ€ฆ but both were around for years before that spike in adoption occurred. So, learning any of the top few languages is a far better long-term investment than learning the hottest new language.

Third, those top languages actually donโ€™t change much. They were written to fulfill a need, and that doesnโ€™t change much over time. Indeed, the only language I can think of that has fundamentally changed in its lifetime is C++, which seems to want to keep up with the times rather than keep serving its original niche. Python? Java? Still pretty much the same as when they became popular back in the day. And thatโ€™s a good thing. But that means if you want to try something new and engaging, you need to look to up-and-coming languages. At the time of this writing, specialist languages like R and Kafka are having their day, and thatโ€™s a good thing. After all, we know that different applications have different needs and different platforms have different needsโ€“and have been trying to address that second one forever, currently with languages like Flutter. All of these will offer new ways of doing things, which is good exposure.

Fourth, (though we briefly toyed with eliminating this one) organizations do determine the pool of available languages. Frankly, allowing each team to build a separate architecture was never a good idea from a long-term maintenance point of view โ€ฆ but a fairly large number of organizations played with the idea and learned the lessons about technical debt all over again. Now weโ€™re back to โ€œWe use these languages, pick one,โ€ which is better than โ€œWeโ€™re an X shop,โ€ and offers maintainability over time without burning a ton of man-hours.

And finally, you can do anything with those languages your organization makes available. Iโ€™ve seen object-oriented assembler, Iโ€™ve seen entire websites served in C; the list goes on. The language you choose makes certain things easier or harder, but if you need to get it done, youโ€™ll either get an exception to the language list, or youโ€™ll figure out how to get it done with whatโ€™s available. But you can โ€ฆ But as my father used to love to say, โ€œJust because you can, doesnโ€™t mean you should.โ€ He had nothing to do with programming and as little as possible to do with computers, but his logic still applies perfectly.

So, grab an approved language, and crank out solutions. Just keep driving it home; youโ€™re rocking it. Donโ€™t stop, and donโ€™t worry too much about which language youโ€™re using, just focus on the language and do what needs doingโ€“like youโ€™ve done all along.  And spin us up even more cool apps.

Advantages of Digital India

The Government of India began the Digital India initiative to ensure that residents can access government services electronically through enhanced online infrastructure and increased Internet connectivity, or by making the country digitally empowered in the field of technology. Rural communities will be connected to high-speed internet networks as part of the effort. The construction of a safe and robust digital infrastructure, the delivery of government services online, and universal digital literacy are the three main components of Digital India. BharatNet, Make in India, Startup India, and Standup India, industrial corridors, Bharatmala, Sagarmala, dedicated freight corridors, UDAN-RCS, and E-Kranti were all launched on July 1, 2015, by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In this article, letโ€™s see the advantages of the Digital India Campaign.

Benefits of Digital India

  • Removal of the black economy all internet transactions can be easily monitored, and every payment made by a customer to any business will be logged, ensuring that no unlawful transactions occur and that people cannot hide their money. The government can effectively evict the underground economy by prohibiting cash-based transactions and requiring solely digital payments.
  • Payment without cash you won’t need to hold cash if you use cashless payment. Cash theft will be reduced, and when you make an online payment, all of your payments will be saved in the Record Bank. Customers can still get discounts on cashless payments and cashback through apps like Paytm, Phone Pe, and Freecharge. There are also shopping websites such as Flipkart and Amazon that offer discounts when making online bank payments.
  • Revenues Increasing another significant benefit of digital India is that as transactions become more digitized, monitoring sales and taxes becomes much easier. Because transactions are recorded, customers will now receive a bill for each purchase they make, and merchants will no longer be able to avoid paying tax to the government, resulting in increased government revenue โ€“ and thus growth of the economy.
  • The Economy has improved Digital India has made the most significant contribution to India’s Internet connectivity. The cashless economy is completely reliant on the Internet, allowing all types of information to be received solely through the Internet; the Digital India program will also considerably boost the country’s economy.
  • New jobs are being created there have been several ways to expand job opportunities in new markets as well as increase employment prospects in existing markets as a result of the Digital India program. New markets have begun hiring individuals, thereby raising the employment rate.
  • Establishes a foundation for e-governance. E-government is a great advantage for all citizens since it is easier, faster, and safer than traditional governance. With e-governance, you can now receive anything from a birth certificate to a death certificate in seconds, making it handy for individuals to get the information they need on the go.
  • People’s empowerment is a term used to describe the process of empowering people. One of the most significant benefits of Digital India is that it empowers citizens. When payments go digital, everyone will need a bank account, a phone, and other electronic devices. The government may quickly send subsidies to people’s Aadhaar-linked bank accounts in this way. In other words, people no longer have to wait for the government to provide them with the incentives and subsidies that they are entitled to. In most cities, this feature is already in place. The government provides LPG subsidies to the general public as an example of this feature. These days, the payment of the subsidy is done through bank transfers.

INTRODUCTION TO THE KNEE DISORDERS

When there are some imbalances within the knee then it can lead to disorders which can be indicated by deviation of the knee in terms of function. Most of these disorders occur due to some conditions imposed onto the structures present inside the knee.

BURSITIS: – inflammation (burning sensation) of the bursa causes pain.

(TIP- a word ending with itis refers to inflammation)

FAT PAD IMPINGEMENT: – the fat pad gets swollen heavily and can burst due to over-expansion.

TENDINITIS: – inflammation of a tendon

TORN MENISCUS: – a sudden twist of the knee can tear the rubbery cartilage leading to serious issues.

FRACTURE: – the bones surrounding the joint may get broken especially the patella is viable to damage in the case of accidents.

DISLOCATION: – the knee bone slips and comes out from its original location leading to excruciating pain.

ACL AND PCL INJURY: – the anterior and posterior cruciate ligament gets torn which may occur when there are a lot of instantaneous turns. However, this occurs rarely since these are very strong ligaments naturally.ย

OSGOOD-SCHLATTER DISEASE: – this is the swelling of the tendon between the tibia and patellar muscles.

STRAIN AND SPRAIN: – both are injuries but strain occurs in ligaments whereas sprain occurs in tendons.

These are some of the common disorders occurring to the knee. All of these disorders have something in commonโ€ฆ.PAIN but the intensity can vary based on time and severity of the disorder

ARTHRITIS

Arthritis is a commonly used word referring to the inflammation of joints. In fact, many people have an intuition that severe pain in the knee corresponds to arthritis mainly in old age groups. This is potentially a dreadful disease and can mainly affect the old aged. Most arthritis occurs over time but some can occur suddenly. Old-aged persons are more prone to this disease. This disease is likely to affect all age groups. This disease is more prevalent in women rather than men since their joints are weaker and more susceptible to motion when compared to men.

differences between normal and arthritic knee joint

ย ย

In the case of arthritis, the bones start to wear down, the ligaments can tear, inflammation and swelling can occur, and also lead to internal bleeding (hematoma). There are about 100+ types of arthritis with different causes and symptoms.

comparisons between some of the arthritis

The different types of arthritis have symptoms different from each other. But arthritis, in general, shows some symptoms irrespective of the type.

Joint pain, stiffness in joints, red swollen mass, deranged and irregular motion is some of the common symptoms exhibited during arthritis. These symptoms are easy to identify by a common man and hence one can consult a medical practitioner known as a rheumatologist. The study of joints is known as arthrology and it is recommended to consult such a person.

As mentioned earlier cartilage is the one that protects the bones and also acts as a shock absorber. In the case of Osteoarthritis, this cartilage starts to vanish slowly. In the case of rheumatoid arthritis, the synovial fluid gets attacked by its own antibodies!!! This phenomenon in medicine is known as autoimmune disease and occurs due to error in the programming of these cells leading to the attack on their own cells.

In the case of gouty arthritis, there is a deposition of sodium urate crystals in the joints. It can lead to redness, pain, and heat around the joint. Uric acid which is generated in our body gets converted to purines (an essential component in DNA). Increased uric acid levels can lead to its deposition in the form of crystals. The best way is to remove the synovial fluid.

So these are the different types of disorders that can be seen in the knee. Proper diet and exercise and a healthy lifestyle can prevent most of them. So it is essential to be healthy to prevent the occurrence of these diseases.

Coordination & Cooperation: The Essential Tools in Management!

Difference Between Coordination and Cooperation (with Comparison Chart) - Key Differences

Cooperation is not always an easy thing to achieve in the workplace, but the effort is worth it because it leads to a harmonious and productive space. Cooperation can make the difference between success and failure for many businesses. When employees dedicate more time to their duties in a cooperative workplace, they are more productive and things get done more quickly and efficiently. Valuable time is not lost resolving bickering and conflict between employees and management when there is cooperation at the workplace. Teamwork is a mark of cooperation at the workplace. โ€˜Teamwork makes the dream workโ€ says author John C. Maxwell. In a cooperation-rich workplace, individuals will voluntarily engage in open discussion. Management and employees work together and try to keep arguments to a minimum.

It takes empathy and skill, to bring a group of employees to cooperate and come together as a team. The basic role of a leader is to inspire. If you are a leader, in any sense, never forget the influence you have on others. As a boss, supervisor or leader, your attitude affects your employees and co-workers. Remember, that as your attitude affects your employees, in turn their attitudes affect your customers. And, as we all know, your customers are the lifeblood of your business.

A lot of people donโ€™t know how to build a highly effective team. It is cooperation which is the pillar of teamwork. It has to be a part of any team that hopes to be successful. So what does it mean? And how do you get it? Cooperation means a group of employees working together for everyoneโ€™s benefit.

Techniques of Co-Ordination (How to Achieve Co-Ordination?):

(i) Clearly Defined Goals:

The goals of the enterprise should be laid down clearly. Every individual in the enterprise should understand the overall objectives and the contribution of his job to these objectives.

(ii) Precise and Comprehensive Programmes and Policies:

Laying down well defined programmes and policies is another measure for achieving effective coordination. This brings uniformity of action because everybody understands the programmes and policies which act as guides for taking decisions.

(iii) Clear Lines of Authority and Responsibility:

An enterprise is composed of several vertical and horizontal authority relationships. Authority flows from top through various positions down to the level of operative workers. There is a line of authority in every enterprise which indicates that who is accountable to whom. This line of authority and responsibility should be clearly defined to achieve coยญordination.

(iv) Effective Communication:

Effective communication is key to proper coordination. The channel of communication used in the enterprise should be reliable so that they are able to create proper understanding in the mind of the receiver. As advised by Mary Follett, personal contacts should be encouraged as it is the most effective means of communications for achieving coordination.

(v) Effective Leadership and Supervision:

Management can achieve better coordination through effective leadership and supervision. Effective leadership ensures coordination both at the planning and the implementing stage. Effective supervision is also necessary to guide the activities of individuals in the proper direction. This will bring unity of action which is essential to co-ordination.

Ways to Gain Cooperation and Increase Engagement

If you want to increase your employeesโ€™ engagement and commitment and encourage teamwork there are a few things you can do to make them feel valuable which will lead to committed employees.

It is easy for workers to feel like cogs in a big machine and having no real impact when they are not shown recognition. In cooperative workplaces, where employees are treated like a valuable part of the organization, management commonly reaches out to lower-leval employees seeking their input as to what should be done or how a task should be completed.

Engaging Your Employees

If you want employee engagement you have to find a way to make them part of the process. There is a difference between commitment and compliance. Compliant employees do what is required and no more. Committed employees become part of a team, looking for ways to benefit the company with their expertise, their ideas and their energy. Employees buy in to what they help to create. Once you have built a platform of trust with them, you can go to the next level and get their active participation.

Showing Respect

If you ever had a boss who did not show much respect, but, now being on the other side of the fence, perhaps you do understand that leaders get tired of employee complaints, and frequently talk about how drama in the workplace hampers productivity. As a leader, you must set the tone of how complaints are registered, and you must develop the wisdom to respond appropriately instead of reacting to an employeeโ€™s negativity.

Listening to your Employees

The worst thing that a manager can do when an employee comes to him/her with a problem is to criticize or ignore. Do not make your employee feel insignificant. Pretending to listen or be sympathetic is even worse. Even if you hear what is being said, if you are distracted by checking e-mail, or looking at a message on your phone, you are unintentionally communicating that the person in front of you is not important enough to give your full attention.

Magnifying the Strengths-

The benefits of developing existing staff more than outweigh the cost of the time and money required to find new workers.  The best companies make their employees even better and the least of them become better than what they thought they would ever be! In todayโ€™s competitive business economy, Managers are pushed towards minimizing labour costs rather than developing the long terms goal of increasing employeesโ€™ potential.

Conclusion:-

Co-ordination results in creation of a true whole that is larger than the sum total of its parts. The analogy of the conductor of a symphony orchestra is appropriate here. The conductor by his coordinating skills of vision, leadership and simultaneous attention to totality of the orchestra group and its individual instrument players, creates a living musical performance and not mere noise.

In any case, management has no alternative but to perform mediating, moderating and motivating roles in securing coordinated action. Mediation with external environment, moderation while controlling internal environment and motivation of individual organisational members are integral coordinating functions of management.

INTRODUCTION TO THE BONES AND JOINTS

Our human body can be compared to a machine in terms of its functioning, but the magnanimous human can perform extremely better than a machine. As there are many nuts and bolts to connect many parts in a machine, there are too some bolts and nuts in our body which join several parts of the body like arms and legs. The so-called nuts and bolts of the human body are known as JOINTS. A joint in general is the articulation that is present in between two bones. This sounds a bit complex. So joint in the English language refers to the association. So the joints in the human body associate something. The something defined previously is bones. In order to understand this, we have to know about the structure of bone in detail.

Fig 1.1- structure of a bone

The above image depicts the structure of a bone in general. Important information to be known is that the unit of a bone is called an osteon. Many osteons combine together to form a bone. Bone-destroying cells are known as osteoclasts and bone-forming cells are known as osteoblasts. The external structure of a bone has two parts namely epiphysis and diaphysis. Physis refers to the growing plate. An increase in the boneโ€™s height corresponding to bone growth. Epi means above and dia means through. Hence diaphysis is found in between two epiphysis which acts as the head and tail to the bone. The point of attachment of muscle in this bone is known as the trochanter. Everything present in the human body has some kind of protection. In the case of bone, that protection is offered by the periosteum. The inner layers can be visualized by peeling off those previous layers hindering them. Next, we have the cartilage which is a rubbery kind of protection to the bone. Hyaline cartilage present in bone is rather glassy in nature. The bone also has nerves and blood vessels since the bone requires nourishment and a proper message for its functioning. Bone marrow is the spongy tissue inside the bones. It contains stem cells. The stem cells can develop into the red blood cells that carry oxygen through your body, the white blood cells that fight infections, and the platelets that help with blood clotting. Bone marrow can be considered the mother of blood cells. This table provides insights on the types.

Type namePrevalenceContent
RedChildrenBlood
YellowAdultsFat

So now we move onto how a joint connects two bones. Consider this situation where there are two pipes and we want to connect them. The best way to connect so as to minimize their loss is by using a junction. There may be other options also, but there is no need to make a fuss about it.

Fig 1.2- the structure of a healthy joint

Hence from all these, we can come to an understanding of the importance of joints in the human body. To be short, the human body is meaningless and fragmented as the face, trunk, hands, and legs are separated without the joints.

The invention that change the world!

INTERNET (1969):

In 1963, the Advanced Research project Agency (APRA) unit, set up by the the US defence department began to build a computer network. Driven by fear of the Soviet nuclear threat, it aimed to link computers at different locations, so researchers could share data electronically without having fixit routes between them, making the system less vulnerable to attacks- even nuclear ones.

Data was converted into telephone signal using a modem (modulator- demodulator), developed at AT&T in the late 1950 s. In the 1960s, key advances where made, including “packet switching” – the system of packaging, labelling and routing data that enables it to be delivered across the network between machines. Paul Baran (b. 1926) proposed this system, which broke each message down into tiny chunks. This would be fired into the network which would then route switch the various pieces to the desired destination.

“Getting information off the Internet is like taking a drink from a fire hydrant”.

Mitchell Kapoor, software designer

So, if chunks of a message where travelling from Seattle to New York via Dallas, but Dallas suddenly went offline, the network would automatically route via Denver instead. Different Parts or packets of a message would go by different routes, before being reassembled back into the original message at their destination, even if they arrived in  the wrong order. Baran published his concept in 1964, and five years later the new network- called APRANET – went live.

As the threat of nuclear war receded in the early 1970s, APRANET was renamed the Internet and effectively opened to all users. Since then, the development of e-mail, the creation of the World Wide Web ( WWW) , and browser technology has enabled the Internet to become a rich communications facility.

ETHERNET ( 1973):

In 1973, Bob Metcalfe Xerox Palo Alto Research centre (PARC) faced a problem. Increasing numbers of computers were bringing up around him all of which needed to be connected to each other. Just down the hallway the world’s first laser printer invented at PARC in 1971 was hungry for documents. Computer networking was in its infancy. The hardware was expensive and wiring at PARC looked like an explosion in a spaghetti factory. Any glitch in the computers or the cabling would bring down the whole system.

Today, Ethernet stands as the dominant networking technology…

The Economist (2003)

Metcalfe was given the job of building a simpler more reliable computer network. Desperate for inspiration from any source he stumbled across the university of Hawaii’s ALOHAnet radio network. Unlike most computer networks which were carefully regulated so only one computer could talk to another at any given moment, ALOHAnet was a free for all. If several computers tried to talk at the same time each computer would back off for a little while before trying again. Constantly developed ever since, Ethernet is now the most popular standard for local networks, if you send a document to your officer printer today, it is likely to travel down the wires of an Ethernet based network, directly descended from Metcalfe’s work.

Introvert Zone

There are four types of introverts Social, Thinking, Anxious and Restrained.

Social Introversion is what’s commonly accepted and understood as the stereotypical definition of introversion social introverts prefer solitude or small groups of people over gatherings. They rather stay home with a book or laptop or hangout with close friends, then go to parties with many unfamiliar faces. Social Introversion is different however from shyness because there’s no anxiety attached to their need for solitude.

Thinking Introversion is a newer concept. Thinking introverts are introspective thoughtful and self reflective. Unlike social introverts, they don’t feel a need to avoid large social scenes instead they like to daydream using their rich imaginations and creative capacities.

Anxious Introverts on the other hand seek time alone because they feel awkward and self conscious. Unlike social introverts they experience painful shyness around new people and the anxiety doesn’t necessarily go away when they are alone because they let situations play over and over in their heads. Contemplating what might have gone wrong?

Restrain Introverts on a slower pace and prefer to think before they speak or act they’re also known for being reserved. They like to take their time preventing impulse from affecting their decision-making.

Introverts react quickly to new information, but are slow to monitor change. Introverts brain become more excited when they analyze what steps they must take in the future but hesitate when they need to prepare for action whereas extroverts need to minimize the thoughts in their heads to make a decision but act quickly afterwards.

Introverts dread small talk. Introverts might seem disinterested in other people because they dislike small talk however they only dislike it because he creates barrier between them and others. Instead introverts want to feel authentically connected, so they crave deep meaningful conversations that help lower social walls.

With the modern world, the youth has all the elements to showcase their respective interest in different fields. Itโ€™s an unimaginable moment for the athlete who wins on a global level among 206 countries, Olympics truly gives so many of opportunities to the citizens, to earn through their hard work and desire without getting judged or discriminated in any form.

โ€œHISTORY OF OLYMPICSโ€

The Olympic Games, which originated in ancient Greece, 3,000 years ago, were revived in the late 19th century and have become the worldโ€™s prominent sporting competition. From the 8th century B.C. to the 4th century A.D., the Games were held every four years in Olympia, located in the western Peloponnese peninsula, in honor of the god Zeus. The first modern Olympics took place in 1896 in Athens, and featured 280 participants from 12 nations, competing in 43 events. Since 1994, the Summer and Winter Olympic Games have been held separately and have alternated every two years. The 2020 Summer Olympics, delayed one year because of the COVID-19 pandemic, will be held from July 23 to August 8, 2021 in Tokyo, Japan.

INDIA IN OLYMPICS

India has been participating in Olympics since 1900. Being the most diversified and culturally active country, it has been the most commendable and honoured country in the platform of Olympics as well. No doubt, India in the race of Olympics is not so graceful as compared to other countries, but India being the 2nd most populated country gives cultural competition to many other countries, it has gained prosperity in each and every sector, but in Olympics, India has a little disgraceful exhibition among the several countries.

WHERE INDIA LACKS?

  • Excess importance to cricket

We, as a country, are obsessed with a singular sport and that is cricket. It is only during major events like Olympics when other sports are given a part of the limelight and fan cheering. For the rest of the year, we stay ignorant of whoโ€™s who of other sports. They are promoted less, there are fewer sponsors for the other sports, there are even less fans hooting and cheering them to do better and then we go about complaining and trolling athletes when we do not get enough medals.

  • Lack of encouragement

The foremost factor right from the very beginning, youth in India are discouraged from pursuing a career in sports. Our parents are obsessed with the likes of medical and engineering. And for girls, the scenario is even worse with list of drawbacks and hindrances they have to face before they could persuade their parents to allow them to play. Most of them are forced to quit sports in order to do something that would give them better job security. Our success as an academically-oriented people proves that we are excellent at pursuing something that pays well, so does Indiaโ€™s obsession with cricket.

  • Poor administration

There is no proper governing of Administrative issues is the prime concern with Indian sports. Non-Involvement of ex-sportsman in administrative staff is also a major reason why India lacks in this sector. Our economy has been prospering and allotment of funds to different fields of development has been improvising with each yearโ€™s budget. However, there is still relatively very less allotment of funds for sports given the sheer number of youths who are willing to take up sports seriously. Enough of IITs and IIMs, when will we get a dedicated sports university?

As the word says- Personal Development undoubtedly arises a way of improving yourself to achieve your desired goal in life. It’s a way of recognizing your strengths and how to work better on them. It not only allows you to achieve your goals but also encourages you to carefully search for many of your skills and interests to make yourself better. Of course, it’s not a short process. Improving yourself and rising to greater heights isn’t a cup of tea. As learning has no end, developing yourself too doesn’t have.

PERSONAL GROWTH IS ESSENTIAL.

You are at a satisfaction that you have started achieving your key objective. Let’s take an example to see how you tend to find new skills and interests in you. Imagine you are visiting the place, say Delhi. After exploring every place, you feel to go to Agra to witness one of the Seven Wonders of the World-TAJ MAHAL. Therefore, isn’t there an interest coming within you to visit many in and around places to gain certain experiences that probably you may not get? Clearly, you won’t allow it to go. You take advantage of the decision and the rare opportunity you have. Similarly, you are on a journey to discover your skills and how to mold them well. At this point, you might find something very different and engrossing and you end up willing to attempt it. It’s basically to make you understand that you have so much to learn in your life. You have to take an advantage of it and use the chance to your fullest.

THREE FEATURES OF PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT:

1.SELF-INTROSPECTION

  • Calmly sit down and find out what are your strengths, weaknesses.
  • Don’t ever forget to remember your success and failure because these two can totally change the whole dynamics of development.
  • Success makes you realize you are learning different qualities and actions. It inspires you to learn more and strive for bigger success.
  • Once a failure doesn’t always indicate a failure. You learn from your mistakes and warn your inner self to not repeat them.
  • Certain minor changes encourage you to shape your personal growth better day by day.
  • There is no person in this world who hasn’t faced a failure. It is evident that when you are on a tour of accomplishing something extremely big, you fall. But at the same time, you should rise like the sun.

2. BUILDING YOUR OWN IDENTITY

  • It’s very essential to note no one knows you better than you. Think what makes you, YOU.
  • Identity is all about questioning you on what you are.
  • Your identity shouldn’t be defined by others, because you live for yourself.
  • It is also important you don’t go and ask others to tell you how you are. You will undoubtedly be lost in a place where maybe it’s difficult to come back. You are transforming yourself for your good.
  • In the same time, when you are socializing with people, you find certain qualities interesting, you should give a try to inculcate them.
  • Construct your own identity. Let people know you are unique.

3. DEVELOPING YOUR TALENTS

  • Each person is god-gifted with a bunch of talents.
  • Try to improve on those rather than jumping directly into discovering others.
  • Just because you like other’s talent doesn’t mean you forget yours and put a lot of time into it.
  • When you find others talent very eye-catching, include that in your personal growth.

WAYS TO IMPROVE PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

  1. COMMUNICATION: This helps you pour out the feelings in you and helps you share your thoughts. This in return builds confidence in you.
  2. SOCIALIZING WITH PEOPLE: Build connections with people, try to understand how they are. Find out what skills and qualities you can acquire.
  3. PROBLEM SOLVING: Help people with their issues by providing solutions to them. This encourages you to indulge yourself more in it and causes you to realize what you are good at.
  4. ADAPTING: Wherever you go you should be in a stage of adjusting yourself there. It’s not you stay in the same place surrounded by the same people.

IMPORTANCE OF PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

  1. SELF- MOTIVATION: Motivate yourself to strive hard to achieve your goal.
  2. BIGGER ACHIEVEMENTS: Success and failures teach you and show your capabilities on how potential you are to achieve something bigger.

Never stop yourself from accomplishing something you desire for just because others don’t like it. Remember, it’s personal development. You are living and improving for yourself. Many people come your way to either stop you or push you forward. Take it positively and step forward.

WANDERLUST

In this pandemic, what is the thing that we miss the most? Ofcourse, it’s getting out of our homes and socializing. Travel! Who doesn’t like traveling? Exploring new places, getting to know new people and their culture sounds pretty exciting to me! It’s fascinating to watch their lifestyle and understand it during the time of staying.

LIVE IN THE MOMENT!

I, myself, have traveled a lot of places during my summer breaks and have learnt a great amount during those travel. Traveling isn’t just always about the fun elements, but also studies have shown that exploring new places can do wonders for both physical and mental health.

HOW DOES TRAVELLING BOOST OUR MENTAL HEALTH?

  • IT’S SUCH A GREAT STRESS BUSTER :

From working at home and working at the office to students focusing on their studies, can create a lot of tension and stress.

Doing workouts might be one of the best ways for stress release, but I’m sure most of us are either just too tired or lazy to do so! So what’s the best alternative? Just pull out your car or bike and go out for a long drive! Traveling need not mean going on international trips or vacations, but sometimes, going to your favorite place or spot can help a great deal too!

  • A NEW WAY TO REINVENT YOURSELF :

People talk about new starts and beginnings and everyone likes to be independent but honestly it’s easy to love others but harder to love yourself. You might be surprised when you travel to a new destination and find out what might be your insecurity is just a way of living of people there.

These days many of us have become so subconscious regarding all the diet and fitness. They calculate the amount of calorie intake and avoid oily foods, but I remember when I traveled to Punjab, India, and there people eating oily foods and were never once insecure about gaining weight and just enjoying their life, so apparently when you travel north, the temperature drops, and you need to take more calories in order to have a normal body temperature and sustain. Traveling widens your horizons of possibilities of life.

  • A GREAT SOURCE OF HAPPINESS :

What is better than traveling with your friends and family? It gives us so much joy and excitement. We forget all about our personal life and drama, and just live in the moment!

Your emotions are directly or indirectly linked with the people you are close with. So when you travel with them, your mental state elevates and you feel a great amount of love and happiness. Emotions are a very powerful thing. Once under its influence, you do things that you normally would never dream of. Happiness is one such emotion, it can give you a great deal of self-confidence.

  • IT MAKES YOU RESILIENT :

Every one of us likes to be in our comfort zone, and keep things under control, so when faced with some strange and peculiar situations, we tend to panic and lose control!

With traveling to new places, where you know nothing about the people or their culture, basically diving into an unfamiliar place will help you get resistance to panic and once you master your emotion and become confident, you also try to push yourself out of your comfort zone. So believe me when I say ‘Normal is Boring‘! Be creative and push your limits, it’s never too late to learn new things!

How to boost your self-esteem?

Self-esteem is basically the overall opinion about yourself, how you feel about yourself which includes your abilities and limitations. Everyone lack confidence at some point of time in different situations which is temporary but having low self-esteem leads to unsatisfied and unhappy with themselves for most of the time. Generally people who are having low self-esteem are:-

  • Critical about their own personality
  • Ignores their positive qualities or aspects
  • Uses negative or cuss words to describe themselves
  • While having self-talk with themselves, they are always negative or self-blaming.
  • Doesnโ€™t believe if someone compliments them.
  • When things go wrong they always blame themselves for the failure instead of considering other things in account such as actions of other Individual or some crisis externally.

With these things in low self-esteem person, it reduces the quality of life which often leads to:-

Fear of Trying – The person who has low self-esteem will always doubt themselves in terms of their abilities, worth and challenges to experience something new in their life.

Fear of getting judged โ€“ People with low self-esteem may avoid the social gathering or some activity based on a group of people, just because they are afraid of being judged on negative basis.

Self-care โ€“ People with low self-esteem lacks in taking care of their self as they neglect themselves.

Negativity โ€“ Person with low self-esteem constantly abuses or neglects themselves which leads to attracting negative feeling which eventually causes anxiety, sadness, depression, shame or guilt.

Self-harming behaviors โ€“ Person with low self-esteem always puts themselves in a situations where they are at increased risk of harming themselves. For e.g. โ€“ Drug abuse, eating disorder or suicide.

There are many causes of low self-esteem like unhappy childhood, relationship break ups, low performance in academics, ongoing medical problem or Mental illness. But there are simple ways to boost your self-esteem and that are:-

recording your life story is a fun and therapeutic strategy that countless people have used not only does it help you remember what you love about yourself but telling your story also motivates you to maintain that positivity in the future but it’s not just about reflection the fact that you’re writing down your story plays an important role because when you write something down you have to be clear you have to be concrete you’re forcing yourself to be specific about who you are so if you’re feeling confused your story can give you the clarity that you’re looking for.

A Point to Pride

Instead of looking back in time you can also boost your self-esteem by setting goals for the future for example, you’re an aspiring author but you’ve never actually written a book before you’ve written plenty of short stories but you’ve always been too scared to try something bigger maybe you’re worried you’re going to fail or you’re just feeling overwhelmed and you don’t have enough faith in yourself to take on the challenge how can you build the self-esteem you need to accomplish your dreams try setting something called a point of pride a point of pride is one specific goal that you accomplish in order to prove something to yourself.

Self-evaluation

You can boost your self-esteem by changing basic things like the way you speak for example you might be using self-critical language you undercut your own success you belittle your own accomplishments and you overrate the value of the people around you. The problem is you probably don’t even realize that you’re doing it it’s become almost automatic for you so how do you change something that you don’t even think about try studying the way you speak every time you undermine your own achievements go and write it down that way you can focus your attention on your harmful language and gradually change it for the better you may not notice a difference at first but over time this simple strategy you can use it to make a huge impact on your self-esteem.

Self-compassion

One of the hardest things of building self-esteem is learning how to forgive your own mistakes you want to be perfect, you want to be respected and successful so whenever that doesn’t happen you either pretend that nothing happened or you become your own worst enemy you criticize yourself and you hold a grudge but both of these approaches have the same fundamental problem they’re focused on preserving the good you’re trying to maintain this fragile image of yourself you expect to be that perfect successful person so you react negatively every time that doesn’t happen you either ignore your mistakes or you tear yourself down and slowly but surely you chip away at your self-esteem so what should you do instead the real secret behind your self-esteem has nothing to do with preserving the good it’s about forgiving the bad you’ll spend the rest of your life making mistakes we all do there’s just no way around it so before you can believe in yourself you have to learn to live with those failures little by little you can boost your self-esteem by actively forgiving yourself each time you say something stupid or make a careless error just take a minute to acknowledge what you did wrong.

When a person is having a high self-esteem then they appreciate themselves and others too, they see the world from the positive light and also understands other peopleโ€™s problem. Their relationships are loving and calm full and also they speak up calmly and tell other their opinion towards and topic freely.

From Salem to Sydney , Natarajan’s cricketing journey is nothing but full of inspiration

โ€œ If you travel deep inside some 340 +km  from Chennai, you get to see a small village called Chinnappampatti. With barely any transportation available you would only find buses that will take you there. If you happen to visit the place , ask for Natarajan , the whole village loves to talk about their humble chella paiyan, which loosely  translates into  go boy ,โ€ says a local resident .

And rightly said . Cricket has no limits. It doesnโ€™t have the foggiest idea where and which place you are .  In India , people are so determined  by cricket that each and everyone wants to break into the national  team as if it is super easy and then you will find strict mothers who chase you  for playing the game and breaking the windows. Having said that , nobody believes in you as they do.

In Tamil Nadu, cricket was never a career option but a pass time . however , with hard work , proper path and determination some do make it . And one of them is  Thangarasu Natarajan .

Natarajanโ€™s family wasnโ€™t monetarily wealthy. While his dad functioned as a coolie at a railroad station , his mother ran a road side snack stall. being the eldest child  , Natarajan was constantly stressed  about his family , but cricket has been a friend in need for the Natarajan family .

In an interview with Times of India ,the left arm quick recalled his early  days of struggle , โ€œ We didnโ€™t had enough food on the table, it was truly a struggle .โ€

โ€œ we all studied in a government school and there were no facilities or mentors who could help me with my cricketing ambitions ,โ€  says Natarajan.

At a time when basic necessities  like food and water were hard to come by  let alone cricket gear , the bowler sharpened his skills  by playing tennis ball cricket .

His fortunes started changing after his breakthrough performances in Tamil Nadu premier league (  TNPL) , first with dindigul dragons and then with lyca kovai kings that caught the attention  of former kings XI Punjab ( now Punjab kings ) coach , Virender Sehwag , and was bought for a Whooping 3 crore,  making  him the highest unpaid Indian uncapped player in the auction .

However , his dream came true when he was selected for the Indian national team , after some stellar performances for the  Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian premier league 2020.

The left arm quick picked up two wickets in his ODI debut and three wickets for 30 runs in his T20 Debut , helping the team win on each occasions . Upon his return from Australia , the Yorker king was taken  on a chariot in his village in Salem district of Tamil Nadu.

Natarajanโ€™s cricketing journey is full of inspiration. It teaches us that with hard work and dedication , anything can be accomplished . We , as Indian cricket fans , wish Natarajan carries his good form for  team India in the foreseeable future and keep on making his fans and his loved ones proud .

โ€œLife without a Fatherโ€

The title itself is horrible to even think about. โ€™Fatherโ€™- this 6- word letter has a lot of emotions vested in it. Losing a father is something tremendous which happens to the child, no matter what the age is, losing a father breaks you in piecesโ€ It is an indescribable experience, it permanently alters children of any age. Nothing is the same, you start a new life without your well- wisher, it is a whole transformative event for a child. Since we all know that death is inevitable, no one can stop that, but this doesnโ€™t minimize the grief, the pain that a child experiences after losing a parent. The two main persons of our life to whom we call -โ€œ mumma and papaโ€ even thinking about a life without them gives goosebumps. For me, it is something from which I will never move on, I mean, how could I move on? He was the person who made me, who gave me a life, how can I forget him? Daddies & daughters have a very precious bond that nobody can ever replace. I lost him at the age of 20, where he was supposed to guide me, to cheer me up,ย  to enjoy my earnings, but everything went upside down. That night has taught me everything, for which I wasnโ€™t ready at all. I didnโ€™t even know that I could write down my feelings,ย  but since I lost him, writing my feelings on a piece of paper has become my go – to best friend. The realisation that I keep getting is that I will not be able to see him or hear his voice for the rest of my life, I will not ever see him or talk to him againโ€ which always breaks me whenever I think of this, this is something dreadful. We are never really ready to lose a loved one no matter how ill they are. They had made our heart, they made us and now there is a hole where they once were and nothing can fill it in or cover it.ย I am the daughter who lost her father too soon, too much to process. Writing my feelings is my way of missing him, other than I can do nothing,ย  nobody can ease my pain or can understand through which Iโ€™m going, this is something so excruciating, that I am unable to even write.ย

Father- the most powerful word connected with millions of sentiments. Nobody can ever replace those laughs, smiles, those secrets between a father and a daughter, itโ€™s something so precious that I wish I could make a montage from my head to see those moments again and cherish them once again. I wish I could relive those moments, to see him once again, to laugh with him, to do every possible thing that Iโ€™ve missed. The man behind me is no more, and it breaks me to pieces, and I am left with zero energy to even pick those pieces to make it again. It shatters me whenever I think of those last moments of him taking his last breath beside me. I wish I could take all of his painโ€ฆ.I wishโ€ฆ..

P.S. I LOVE YOU – book review

About the book

Author: Cecelia Ahern

Genre:ย  Romance, Womens Fiction chick- lit

Published: September 1st 2003

Pages: 470

PS, I Love You was a number-one bestseller in the United States, Ireland, and several other countries. It was made into a hit movie in 2007 starring Hillary Swank as Holly and Gerard Butler as Gerry. Ahern wrote a sequel, titled Postscript, released in the United Kingdom in 2020.

Summary

PS, I Love You (2004), a novel by Irish author Cecelia Ahern, tells the story of a young widow who receives a series of letters written by her late husband before his death; these letters help her through her grief, compelling her to embark on a series of funโ€”and often funnyโ€”adventures. PS, I Love You is ultimately a tale of love and marriage, death and survival, loss and recovery, and the eternal bond that can unite two people, even after one of them has passed away. It is also about the very human and awkward experience of moving forward alone after the death of a soulmate.

Holly Kennedy holds the sweater of her husband, Gerry Clark. Gerry has just died at the age of thirty from a brain tumor. Holly smells his sweater to remind her of his scent and presence. But as soon as she does, the reality of her loss hits her, and she feels as if she is going to be sick. Holly cannot imagine a life without Gerry, who had been her junior high sweetheart and her one constant source of love and strength for more than fifteen years.

Holly spends her days alone, wandering from room to room inside the home she had shared with Gerry. Consumed with loss, her sleep is fitful, and she rarely leaves the house. One day, her mother, Elizabeth, calls her to check in. Elizabeth has received a large envelope addressed to Holly; Holly assumes it is just another sympathy card. Her mother’s comment that the words The List are written on the top of the envelope shocks Holly. She suddenly knows what the envelope contains and who it is from.

She flashes back to a scene from her past with Gerry. When he jokes that someday he might not be around to do the little things like turn off the bedroom light before bed, Holly laughingly suggests he write her a list of things to do and leave it in his will. It started as a joke, but now, Holly knows, he followed through, sending the list to her mother before he passed away.

After a visit with her best friend, Sharon McCarthy, Holly decides to retrieve the envelope from her mother. She discovers that it is not really an envelope, but a package with no return address. Above the main address are the wordsย The List. She opens the package. On top is a letter in which Gerry assures Holly that she will be able to go on after his death and that she should open and follow the directions inside each small envelope only on the date written on the front of each one. The package contains ten small envelopes labeled with the months March through December. This month’s envelope tells her to buy a bedside lamp so she doesn’t have to get out of her cozy bed every night to shut off the bedroom light-switch. This letter, like all subsequent ones, ends with the words, “PS, I love you.”

For the next nine months, Holly looks forward to opening Gerry’s letters. She, Sharon, and Sharon’s husband, John, marvel at Gerry’s ability to put this project together. He had been so weak and ill toward the end of his life, it must have required a herculean effort.

In April, Gerry instructs Holly to buy a smart new outfit because she will need it in time for next month’s letter. In May, he tells her to put on her new outfit to face one of her biggest fears: singing karaoke live onstage. In June, he asks her to get rid of his belongings; “Iโ€™m already hereโ€ฆalways wrapping my arms around you,” he writes. In July, he wishes her a “good Holly day,” which she interprets as an order to get ready to go on vacation. In August, he sends her on vacation to Spain for a week with her friends. In September, Gerry advises Hollyโ€”who has a hard time finding a job she likesโ€”to get a career she finds fulfilling. In October, he sends her sunflowers with the instructions to plant more, in order “to brighten the dark October days you hate most.” In November, he encourages her to start dating. Finally, in December, he gives his permission for her to fall in love again.

Throughout these letters, buoyed by Gerry’s love and guidance, Holly emerges from the shell she has built around herself. She starts gradually by shopping for an outfit that will get her out of the blue-jeans-and-Gerry’s-shirts combination she’s been living in. The letters introduce more and more action and engagement, providing the springboard for Holly to reenter life once again. In the end, she doesn’t feel abandoned by Gerry or alone and single at a vulnerable time. She feels reconnected to all the amazing things in her life: her friends, her family, her newfound career in magazine advertisingโ€”and the eternal memory of one incredible man.

My Review

It is a very interesting read and very emotional one too. Love is the central theme of the book and it is presented in such a beautiful way. Dealing with the death of the beloved can be devastating but life goes on. You have to be keep on living and learn to be happy again for the sake of your family and friends but most importantly, for the same of your lost love who would never have wanted to see you unhappy.

A beautiful well written story which will make you cry for sure and also make you appreciate your loved ones. Cecilia Ahern has created some compelling characters. Her style of writing is simple and sometimes amateurish but the beauty of the story covers all the flaws. The poignancy of loss, letting go and rediscovery is beautifully captured in this story. Its a touching and emotional story about the long road of healing and finding yourself again after losing a loved one. I will definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves to read chick-lit.

How to improve Personality

Photo by John Diez on Pexels.com

A research study by psychologists at the University of Illinois suggests that we can change our traits provided we want to change them.

We can become the best version of ourselves if we want to. So, if you are willing to become the most terrific version of you, here are some personality development tips to your aid:

We are taught to be kind to others. Yet, many of us fail to be kind to ourselves. Studies show that self-compassion brings positive traits like optimism, extroversion, wisdom, happiness, positivity and resilience. According to Emma Seppala, research psychologist at Stanford University, self-compassion involves three steps:

  • Recognize that you deserve care and concern like anyone else and that is why you must be kind and understanding with oneself.
  • Recognize that making mistakes and failing is part of life. So, do not be hard on yourself when you commit a mistake or fail and indulge in self-critical thoughts.
  • Be aware of oneโ€™s emotions and feelings.

Contrary to popular belief, self-compassion does not mean letting yourself off the hook. Rather, it means taking corrective action, albeit without being too self-critical.

Donโ€™t overthink and overanalyze. Neither let any negativity like shame, anger, jealousy or greed stay in your consciousness for too long. Instead, learn to take it easy; forgive easily and drop grudges against people as soon as they pop up. Being light in mind and heart makes you truly happy from within. And who does not like happy people?

We all like people with whom we can easily mingle and talk to. No one likes a person who responds with a straight face. So, learn to be warm. Flash that smile more often. Be friendly and be ready to share and help.

Doing things with style adds zing to your personality. The secret to doing things with style lies in working with passion and a relaxed mind. So, while you work at something, donโ€™t let anything distract you from putting all your energy into it. At the same time, stay relaxed.

It is vital not just to pretend to be a helpful person; you genuinely have to do that to be that person. For instance, you realized that someone is in need, you can guide and say that I feel if you go to that person, he can be of help to you. Or you can give small piece of advice. Satisfactions that you get after helping someone is amazing, and believe me that will reflect on your face and personality development.

ย Today is the age of networking, be social with people, you should often go for outings with friends, you will have self-knowledge about things and develop confidence to travel independently. Secondly, with your network, you know how to speak and interact, when to take credit of yourself and when to share and help. When and how to say no without hurting, you will learn all these basic things when you are with people around.

You can only learn when you are adaptive, if you are rigid with your though process than it is next to impossible to learn new things and personality development.

Gently Falls the Bakula

By SUDHA MURTHY

Hello readers.

In the small town of Hubli, Shrikant discovers that he is attracted to his plain-looking but charming neighbour Shrimati, who always does better than him in the school exams. Shrimati too falls in love with the amiable and handsome Shrikant and the two get married. Shrikant joins an IT company and starts rapidly climbing the corporate ladder. He works relentlessly and reaches the pinnacle of his industry, while Shrimati abandons her academic aspirations and becomes his uncomplaining shadow, silently fulfilling her duties as a corporate leaderโ€™s wife. But one day, while talking to an old professor, she starts examining what she has done with her life and realizes it is dismally empty…

The way characters and their lives are described is wonderful. Sudha Murthy uses simple language and makes the plot so effective. The story is relevant to Indian society. It gives you a lesson on importance of standing on our own legs, being independent.

At the beginning you may feel it a bit dull but the way it gains the plot keeps us hooked up.All the Indian girls are taught to sacrifice something for everyone either itโ€™s her parents, brother or husband. It’s time we learn to sacrifice some time to ourselves. Learn to become independent and strong (both physically and mentally). It makes you clear about your choices between career and marriage life.

It was made a proper holiday around 1660 but was still quite disreputable. Around the early 1900s, the Oxford movement of the Anglican Communion church started and this led to the revival of Christmas.

PROCRASTINATION

What exactly is procrastination?

Procrastination is the action of unnecessarily and voluntarily delaying or postponing something despite knowing that there will be negative consequences for doing so.  It could be further stated as a habitual or intentional delay of starting or finishing a task despite knowing it might have negative consequences. It is a common human experience involving delay in everyday chores or even putting off salient tasks such as attending an appointment, submitting a job report or academic assignment, or broaching a stressful issue with a partner. Although typically perceived as a negative trait due to its hindering effect on oneโ€™s productivity often associated with depression, low self-esteem, guilt and inadequacy, it can also be considered a wise response to certain demands that could present risky or negative outcomes or require waiting for new information to arrive.

According to Joseph Ferrari, a professor of psychology at DePaul University in Chicago and author of โ€œStill Procrastinating: The No Regret Guide to Getting It Done,โ€ around 20% of U.S. adults are chronic procrastinators. No matter how well-organized and committed you are, chances are that you have found yourself frittering away hours on trivial pursuits (watching TV, updating your Facebook status, shopping online) when you should have been spending that time on work or school-related projects. Whether youโ€™re putting off finishing a project for work, avoiding homework assignments, or ignoring household chores, procrastination can have a major impact on your job, your grades, and your life.

How to overcome procrastination?

  • Make Written To-Do Lists

To-Do Lists are a tried-and-true way of getting your bearings and keeping yourself from getting overwhelmed. They also help you organize your thoughts and can prevent confusion. Itโ€™s ideal to make a new list at the end of each day to prepare for the next day. Keep in mind, however, this tip wonโ€™t help much if you over-plan or set actionable tasks that cannot be completed in less than half an hour. If a task takes longer than thirty minutes, break it up into smaller tasks.

  • Deal with Your Fear

Fear is one factor that contributes to procrastination. This can involve a fear of failure, a fear of making mistakes, or even a fear of success. If you are afraid of success because you secretly believe that you donโ€™t deserve it, it is important to realize that your self-handicapping might be keeping you from achieving your goals. By addressing the fear that is keeping you from getting started, you can begin to overcome your procrastination habit.

  • Create an Ideal Environment

Distractions arise when your environment is imperfect for your work. If distractions are a real issue for you and organizing your tasks does not relieve the impulse to procrastinate, it is vital that you take a look around and find out what is blocking your productivity. Distractions can range from background noise to a stiff chair, from a cluttered desk to Facebook. Do what you need to do in order to remove or avoid these elements. Many of us are distracted by the Internet. (โ€œIโ€™ll watch just one more cat video.โ€ Yeah, right.) Develop the discipline to work in a space without Internet connectivity or build idle Internet browsing into your schedule (see tip three).

  • Final Thoughts

Breaking the procrastination habit isnโ€™t easy. After all, if it was simple there wouldnโ€™t be an estimated 80% to 95% of students engaging in procrastination on a regular basis. The urge to put things off can be strong, especially when there are so many things around us to provide fun and entertaining distractions.

While procrastination might not be something you can avoid entirely, becoming cognizant of the reasons why you procrastinate and how to overcome those tendencies can help. By implementing these strategies, you might find that it is easier to put your nose to the grindstone and get started on those important tasks.

Cricket Match

Saturdays are a holiday in school for us. but last Saturday the entire school was present. We were to have a cricket match with the Sardar Patel boys, starting at 10 in the morning. While the home team as well as the guest team were getting ready, the stands filled up with students, teachers and even a number of enthusiastic parents.

Exactly at 10 am, Mr Bakshi, our cricket coach along with the coach of the visiting team came to the pitch. They were accompanied by the two captains. The SP captain won the toss and he chose to bat first. As our home team came on to the field and took their positions, there was loud cheering from the stands. Then entered the two batsmen with the captain of SP facing the first ball. Ranjeet, our top bowler was known for his spins.

The captain barely managed to hit the first onslaught. The first over ended as a maiden over. However all our hopes began to dampen when in the second over the first ball was hit to the boundary. It was followed by a quick succession of runs that made us cross our fingers.

Then suddenly OUT! The middle stump was flung back and the umpire raised his right handรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs index finger. By lunch time the SP team had garnered a good 260 runs. It being a 20 overs match our team was faced with a herculean task to match their score.

After lunch, amidst loud cheering, Sunil our sports captain and Prakash our schools top athlete came in as the opening batsmen. From the very first ball they showed their mettle. Runs came pouring in as both of them sent the balls flying to the boundary. Just as we were sure of winning the match Prakash hit the ball for a six, but was caught out. A loud exclamation of disappointment went up from the crowd. Then followed some of our middle order batsmen. Except for one who was run out at zero all the others managed to add on a decent amount of runs.

As the day began to come to a close the two team fought on. With only the last over remaining the home team was still short of 10 runs. Any thing could happen. Our captain Sunil was still standing and as he faced the ball, we could see the determination on his face. But the SP team were no greenhorns. They had set the field in a manner that would make it difficult for him to score a boundary. The three players at slip would prevent him from taking the singles. We watched with bated breath. All our hopes pinned on our captain. The first ball he just stopped but the second he sent flying over the stands. We still could win! The SP team closed in around the batsmen who looked around desperately for a gap. Then on the second last ball, Abhay the other batsman hit a resounding 4. Yes! the home team had scored a total of 261 runs and won the match.

As the two teams returned to the stands everyone stood up to cheer and applaud. It had been an exciting match and our team captain retained his title as the most popular student. I shall remember this match for a long time to come.

Beggars

Beggars are the people who restore to begging for alms from other people. Beggars can be seen at various places. But the main areas of their operations are the places of pilgrimage and worship. They squat on the banks of the rivers, in front of temples, churches, mosques, gurudwaras, and other places of hectic activity. They roam from street to street, from one locality to another begging for alms. Though they usually accept whatever is given to them, some beggars can get very irritating and aggressive.

Some people give alms to beggars in order to ward them off and not due to pity. Many beggars are so young and healthy that they do not deserve charity at all. The deserving cases are very few; those who are crippled, lame, deaf, dumb, blind or handicapped and cannot earn their living. Some are in such a pathetic state as to evoke pity and compassion. Such crippled beggars are well versed in the art of singing religious songs. Some beggars have a very melodious voice. Their sweet voice attracts the passers-by. Such beggars are found in trains and buses and they enthral the travellers through their religious and devotional songs.

Sometimes, one comes across a deaf and dumb beggar, carrying another blind or lame beggar on his back and begging for alms. It is also usual to see a leper Seated in a manually driven cart and carried from place to place. These beggars know human psyche and beg by touching the feelings of the people.

Most beggars thrive due to the generosity of soft hearted people. These beggars never miss religious gatherings and festivals. Some wear only a loin-cloth. Some beggars besmear themselves with ash while others have long hair and carry a pair of tongs. Some meditate under trees. But many are cheats and charlatans. These beggars deceive the innocent people and at times even rob them.

These beggars live on the earnings of others. It is a great shame that even a number of healthy persons resort to begging. They are often involved with criminal gangs and wait for an opportunity to prey upon innocent victims. Government and many non-government organisations are working towards the betterment of beggars by helping the deserving ones and punishing and employing, the lazy and cheats.

Street begging is really a bane for any society. Nowadays, people are not swayed by any religious feeling. Hence, beggars are not treated in the manner in which they hope to be treated. It is good so that future generations do not restore to begging.

Nationalism

A country is run by its people. And to maintain unity in diversity for the country, there should be a sense of belonging inculcated amongst the citizens towards their country, and nationalism does exactly that. There is no one particular definition of nationalism, but the popular discourse is that nationalism is an ideology or set of beliefs that the people of the country follow to promote the interest of the nation above anything else. Usually, nationalism and patriotism are used as synonyms.

While both the terms help in developing a sense of love towards the nation, they both are fundamentally different. Nationalism is about the interest of the country, from economic development to cultural and social status, but patriotism, on the other hand, is more towards the love and affection for the country in terms of military power and defensive capabilities. While there is no prescribed definition for both the terms, the context with which nationalism and patriotism are used is quite different.

On the other hand, aggressive nationalism, usually called as jingoism, defeats the whole purpose of nationalistic feelings. Jingoism is less about developing a sense of belonging towards the nation among its citizens, but more about war-mongering and propagating hate towards enemy countries. Aggressive nationalism does not entertain critics and dissent. It is a one-sided sentiment, which does not, and more importantly, should not have a place in a democratic and a secular country.

Nationalism is at the core of Indian values and the democratic and the secular fabric of the nation. Indian freedom fighters who fought the mighty Britsh for more than 100 years were nationalistic and patriotic in nature. Nationalism is at the heart of India and its independence movement. It was because of nationalism that India could snatch freedom from the British and finally gain independence on August 15th, 1947. But the nationalism that existed during the freedom movement is quite different from the nationalism that we are witnessing in the 21st century.

The nationalism during the early 19th century was about gaining independence from the British. Nationalism then didnโ€™t divide Indians into any lines. It developed a true sense of patriotism amongst the people and motivated them to come out on the streets and fight against the Britishโ€™s atrocities on Indian soil. But the nationalism that we witness now is different from the previous one and not is a good way. Nationalism, due to misunderstanding by certain sections of the population, has made it a synonym for hate-mongering and communism. Nationalism now is being compared with religious and ethnic sentiments of people.

Nationalism has absolutely nothing to do with culture, religion or ethnicity of the people. Unfortunately, nationalism, instead of developing a sense of belonging in the people, has developed fear in the crowds, especially for the ones with dissenting and critical voices.

Nationalism has been turned into a tool and litmus test for peopleโ€™ patriotism. This form of nationalism is sowing seeds for diving the country on ethnic and religious lines. Such type of nationalism, which create hate and animosity amongst the people against the ruling dispensation can no more be called nationalism. Its pure jingoism, which is harmful to the unit of the country.

Elections are fought in many counties in the name of nationalism. Leaders like Donald Trump, Vladamir Putin and Narendra Modi are proud nationalists who have propagated nationalistic feeling amongst the people to win their support. While this is good for the nation, but it is the responsibility of these leaders to make sure that nationalism is not turned into jingoism.

The Communication Barriers!

THE SINGLE BIGGEST PROBLEM IN COMMUNICATION IS THE ILLUSION THAT IT HAS TAKEN PLACE.โ€ -GEORGE BERNARD SHAW

The first one is physical barriers are such things as inadequate equipment such as outdated computers, phones with poor signals, bad hearing, poor eyesight, background noise, poor lightening, poor impediments,  temperatures that are too hot or to cold, tangible items that may interfere with communication efforts.

The second is attitudes. Some times the strong emotions like anger, fear or sadness and attitudes (having to be right all the time, believing oneself to be superior or inferior to others) can taint your objectivity being extremely nervous having a personal agenda or asserting a need to win the argument can make communications less than effective such interfering emotions are also known as emotional noise.

The third one is Language. This may seem like a minor obstacle but even people who speak the same native language can have difficulty understanding each other. If they are from different generations or Different regions of the same country. Slang, professional jargon and regional colloquialisms Can hurt or frustrate communicators with even the best intentions.

The fourth is Physiological health. Ill health, poor eyesight, hearing difficulties and pain are all physiological obstacles to effective communication. The fifth barrier is problems with structure design companies or institutions can have unclear organizational structures making communications difficult. Bad information system lack of supervision and employee training are also to blame for faulty Communications.

The sixth one is cultural noise. People sometimes make assumptions about others based on their cultural background and associated stereotypes. not making eye contact is a sure way of raising doubt in listeners and losing their attention and making them fell suspicious of you not to mention invisible.

The seventh is lack of common experience. It is a great idea to use examples or stories and anecdotes to explain or enhance a point across however if others cannot relate to these examples. Because they do not have the knowledge or shared common experiences this tool will be ineffective.

The eighth is ambiguity and overuse of abstractions leaving things has said or using too many generalizations. Proverbs or sayings can lead to lack of clarity which in turn lends itself to misinterpretation. When you talk, youโ€™re not listening, and you need to listen to the people youโ€™re attempting to persuade.

The ninth is information overload. It takes time to process large quantities of information and too many details can overwhelm and distract the audience from the important topics. When you try too hard to persuade someone, you may seem desperate, and desperation smells like manipulation and turns people off before you can utter your next desperate word.

The tenth one is Jumping to conclusions. Making assumptions before listening to all the  facts can be problematic in the least and catastrophic at worst. If you donโ€™t believe in your position, product, service, or whatever youโ€™re trying to sell, they wonโ€™t believe in it either.

How to overcome these communication barriers?

checking whether it is a good time and place to communicate with the person. Use of simple and clear words should be emphasized. Use of ambiguous words and jargons should be avoided. Noise is the main communication barrier which must be overcome on priority basis. It is essential to identify the source of noise and then eliminate that source. Listen attentively and carefully. There is a difference between โ€œlisteningโ€ and โ€œhearingโ€. Active listening means hearing with proper understanding of the message that is heard. By asking questions the speaker can ensure whether his/her message is understood or not by the receiver in the same terms as intended by the speaker. Avoid giving negative feedback. The contents of the feedback might be negative, but it should be delivered constructively. The managers should properly select the medium of communication. Simple messages should be conveyed orally, like: face to face interaction or meetings.

Copying In The Examination

The students who do not study well look for short cuts like copying in examination, but not to much use. Some students use every method to cheat the invigilator and if they are caught, they shed crocodile tears. They beg before the supervisors but some aggressive students threaten the authorities of dire consequences.

Their shrewd brain can be admired in the new methods they devise. Sometimes, copying is organised on a mass scale. As soon as the students receive the question paper, they note down the questions on a piece of paper and throw it out of the window. Their friends who are outside, write down the answers and try to smuggle them back to the students. They bribe the peon and the sweeper who bring these slips for them. They also go to the bathroom and collect the material from there. When they are caught, at first, they try to beg with an apology. If this method fails, then they try to threaten the invigilator.

Some states have passed very strict laws to punish such students. This habit should stop otherwise it would bring about a total collapse of the education system. Students should well understand and keep in mind that copying serves no purpose, as said, โ€œThere is no short cut to successโ€ and โ€œHard work is the only key to success.โ€

INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY

International Youth Day was enforced by united nation in 1999 with the adoption of resolution 54/120. Every year this day is commemorated on 12th of August. The day is celebrated to spread awareness about the cultural and legal issues surrounding youth and try to resolve it. Numerous workshops, cultural gathering, concerts and meeting involving national and local government officials and different organizations takes place around the globe.

Every year UN comes up with different ideas to celebrate , this yearโ€™s the theme is โ€˜TRANSFORMING
FOOD SYSTEM-YOUTH INNOVATION FOR HUMAN AND PLANETORY HEALTHโ€™ , the main objective behind this theme is to highlight the hard work and efforts put by the young people in the transformation of food system and aim to collectively save our planet.

โ€œYOUTHS ARE THE BUILDING BLOCKS OF COMING FURTUREโ€.
Coming future stands on a strong foundation of the budding youthโ€™s creative and collective power. The youth should be well refined with education and global exposure . To stand in the society and face the wordly challenges bravely and efficiently. They are the treasure to be preserved and valued.

Donโ€™t say something you regret out of anger

There once was a little boy who had a very bad temper. His father decided to hand him a bag of nails and said that every time the boy lost his temper, he had to hammer a nail into the fence.

On the first day, the boy hammered 37 nails into that fence.

The boy gradually began to control his temper over the next few weeks, and the number of nails he was hammering into the fence slowly decreased. He discovered it was easier to control his temper than to hammer those nails into the fence.
Finally, the day came when the boy didnโ€™t lose his temper at all. He told his father the news and the father suggested that the boy should now pull out a nail every day he kept his temper under control.

The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone. The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence.

You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. You can put a knife in a man and draw it out. It wonโ€™t matter how many times you say Iโ€™m sorry, the wound is still there.’โ€

Speak when you are angry and youโ€™ll make the best speech youโ€™ll ever regret. โ€“ Ambrose Brierce

Retirement age extension

The Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council has advocated raising the retirement age, citing increased life expectancy as a result of improved health infrastructure, which will allow older people to work longer than earlier generations. The Council stated in a report released on Wednesday that because India is a young country with a large working population, the retirement age should be gradually increased. According to the report provided by the Council’s chairman, Bibek Debroy, “raising retirement ages leads to employment creation for old people without compromising the demands and availability of jobs for the present workforce.”

Values

Values are the positive teachings provided to help us and tread the right path in life. Every parent wants his child to imbibe these. These can even be referred to as good qualities. A person who imbibes good values grows on to become a responsible individual and he is capable of demarcating right and wrong. Also, he is able to make wiser decisions in life.

Importance of Values

For an individual, values are most important. An individual with good values is loved by everyone around as he is compassionate about others and also he behaves ethically.

Values Help in Decision Making

A person is able to judge what is right and what is wrong based on the values he imbibes. In life at various steps, it makes the decision-making process easier. A person with good values is always likely to make better decisions than others.

Values Can Give Direction to Our Life

In life, Values give us clear goals. They always tell us how we should behave and act in different situations and give the right direction to our life. In life, a person with good values can take better charge.

Values Can Build Character

If a person wants a strong character, then he has to possesses good values such as honesty, loyalty, reliability, efficiency, consistency, compassion, determination, and courage. Values always help in building our character.

Values Can Help in Building a Society

If u want a better society then people need to bear good values. Values play an important role in society. They only need to do their hard work, with compassion, honesty, and other values. Such people will help in the growth of society and make it a much better place to live.

Characteristics of Values

Values are always based on various things. While the basic values remain the same across cultures and are intact since centuries some values may vary. Values may be specific to a society or age. In the past, it was considered that women with good moral values must stay at home and not voice their opinion on anything but however, this has changed over time. Our culture and society determine the values to a large extent. We imbibe values during our childhood years and they remain with us throughout our life.

Family always plays the most important role in rendering values to us. Decisions in life are largely based on the values we possess. Values are permanent and seldom change. A person is always known by the values he possesses. The values of a person always reflect on his attitude and overall personality.

The Decline of Values in the Modern Times

While values are of great importance and we are all aware of the same unfortunately people these days are so engrossed in making money and building a good lifestyle that they often overlook the importance of values. At the age when children must be taught good values, they are taught to fight and survive in this competitive world. Their academics and performance in other activities are given importance over their values.

Parents, as well as teachers, teach them how to take on each other and win by any means instead of inculcating good sportsman spirit in them and teaching them values such as integrity, compassion, and patience. Children always look up to their elders as their role models and it is unfortunate that elders these days have a lack of values. Therefore the children learn the same.

Conclusion

In order to help him grow into a responsible and wise human being, it is important for people to realize that values must be given topmost priority in a childโ€™s life because children are the future of the society. There can be nothing better in a society where a majority of people have good values and they follow the ethical norms.

“VALUES ARE LIKE FINGERPRINTS. NOBODY’S ARE THE SAME, BUT YOU LEAVE THEM ALL OVER EVERYTHING YOU DO.”

Elon Musk: The Most Successful & Debated Man Of The Tech World

Elon Musk, a sensational name in the tech world, has stepped into multiple ventures and everything seems attainable by the business magnate. Musk was born on 28th June 1971 in South Africa, and at the age of 17, he immigrated to Canada. As a transfer student to the University of Pennsylvania, he finally landed in the United States.

Musk is a well-known tech mogul who is widely recognized as the CEO of Tesla Inc., and as the Founder and CEO of SpaceX. Currently, with a net worth of more than $199.9 billion, Teslaโ€™s CEO is one of theย wealthiest persons in the world.

โ€œCompany Possessions of Elon Muskโ€

  • Tesla Inc:ย The Electric Car Manufacturing Company.
  • SpaceX:ย Muskโ€™s Aerospace Manufacturing Company.
  • Neuralink:ย Research company trying to build devices that can be implanted into the human brain.
  • OpenAI:ย AI researching not-for-profit company ensuring it doesnโ€™t destroy humanity.
  • The Boring Company:ย Focused to dig a network of tunnels in cities for high-speed and no-traffic driving.ย

The Early Life
Elon Musk demonstrated entrepreneurship traits from an early age. His Engineer father and Dietician mother, who understood his sonโ€™s technology penchant and nurtured his interest, embraced him remarkably. He obtained his first computer at the age of 10, teaching himself how to write code. And at the age of 12, the young boy constructed a completely functional video game, named โ€œBlastarโ€ that was reportedly sold for $500.

In 1988, Elon Musk graduated from Pretoria Boys High School. In 1989, he moved to Canada and joined Queenโ€™s University in Ontario to escape the compulsory military service of South Africa. After that, he attended the University of Pretoria for merely five months. Musk later pursued a Bachelor in Economics degree at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Further, he resigned after two days, to fulfil his entrepreneurial aspirations when he was admitted to the Physics Graduate Program at the University of Stanford.

Success story of The Tech Buff
In 1995, Musk joined his brother Kimbal in inaugurating Zip2, an IT company that licenced newspaper software for online city guides. The Company didnโ€™t attract many in its first few years, but afterwards, the local and domestic newspapers finally started using Zip2 to sell their respective customers additional services. In 1999, Zip2 was bought for a whopping $340 million by Compaqโ€™s AltaVista web search engine.

Musk then founded X.com, online financial services and email payment firm, with its business partners Peter Thiel and Max Levchin. X.com joined the American software corporation Confinity in 2000, which is best known for developing PayPal. Shortly before eBay bought PayPal at $1.5 billion in 2001, Musk was named President and CEO of PayPal. Here, Musk eventually had the funds to put the Internet business behind to channel his attention to engineering business as an equity investor with nearly 180 million dollars in shares.

Struggling and Rising Years
In 2004, Musk played an instrumental role in designing the first electric car of Tesla named โ€œThe Tesla Roadsterโ€. Under the leadership of such a big billionaire, Tesla emerged out to become the worldโ€™s most popular and desirable car brands. Musk claims 2008 as the worst year of his life. With the financial crisis, Musk was broke, and he also had to pull out Tesla from the massive debt, and along with that, he was undergoing a divorce procedure.

In January 2018, Tesla revealed that Musk would not collect an annual payment but that it would instead raise money depending on the rising market cap that it wanted to achieve in the next ten years.

With SpaceX, Elon Musk has signed several high-profile contracts to develop rockets and perform military missions with NASA and the United States Air Force. Musk was outspoken about his hopes for a joint project with NASA to send an Astronaut to Mars by the year 2025.

Elon Musk has always pushed all varieties of space-age technologies, but it was not still a perfect ride for him. He went on from being bullied in school to becoming a small entrepreneur and finally became the leader of twoย innovativeย companies. But from there, he decided to rise and never settle down for anything less.

โ€œWhen something is important enough, you do it even if the odds are not in your favour.โ€- Elon Musk

AQUAPONICS:

Aquaponicsย is a food production system that couplesย aquacultureย (raisingย aquatic animalsย such asย fish,ย crayfish, snails orย prawnsย in tanks) withย hydroponicsย (cultivating plants in water) whereby the nutrient rich aquaculture water is fed to hydroponic grown plant, involvingย nitrifying bacteriaย for converting ammonia into nitrates.

As existing hydroponic and aquaculture farming techniques form the basis for all aquaponic systems, the size, complexity, and types of foods grown in an aquaponic system can vary as much as any system found in either distinct farming discipline.

History

Further information:ย Historical hydroculture Woodcut from the 13th century Chinese agricultural manualย Wang Zhen’s Book on Farming showing rice grown in a floating raft planter system in a pond.

Aquaponics has ancient roots, although there is some debate on its first occurrence:

  • Aztecย cultivated agricultural islands known asย chinampasย in a system considered by some to be an early form of aquaponics for agricultural use, where plants were raised on stationary (or sometime movable) islands in lake shallows and waste materials dredged from the Chinampa canals and surrounding cities were used to manually irrigate the plants.
  • South Chinaย and the whole of Southeast Asia, where rice was cultivated and farmed inย paddy fieldsย in combination with fish, are cited as examples of early aquaponics systems, although the technology had been brought by Chinese settlers who had migrated from Yunnan around 5 AD.ย Theseย polyculturalย farming systems existed in manyย Far Easternย countries and raised fish such as theย oriental loachย , swamp eel,ย common carpย  andย crucian carpย ย as well asย pond snailsย in the paddies.
  • The 13th century Chinese agricultural manualย Wang Zhen’s Book on Farmingย described floating wooden rafts which were piled with mud and dirt and which were used for growingย rice,ย wild rice, and fodder. Such floating planters were employed in regions constituting the modern provinces ofย Jiangsu,ย Zhejiang, andย Fujian. These floating planters are known as eitherย jiatianย  orย fengtianย , which translates to “framed paddy” and “brassicaย paddy”, respectively. The agricultural work also references earlier Chinese texts, which indicated that floating raft rice cultivation was being used as early as theย Tang Dynastyย (6th century) andย Northern Song Dynastyย (8th century) periods of Chinese history.

Floating aquaponics systems on polycultural fish ponds have been installed in China in more recent years on a large scale. They are used to grow rice, wheat and canna lily and other crops,ย with some installations exceeding 2.5 acres (10,000ย m2). Diagram of the University of the Virgin Islands commercial aquaponics system designed to yield 5 metric tons ofย Tilapiaย per year.

The development of modern aquaponics is often attributed to the various works of theย New Alchemy Instituteย and the works of Dr. Mark McMurtry et al. at theย North Carolina State University, who devised an “Integrated Aqua-Vegeculture System” (iAVs) based on the combination of aquaculture and sand-based grow beds.Inspired by the successes of the New Alchemy Institute and McMurtry’s iAVs, other institutes soon followed suit. Starting in 1979, Dr. James Rakocy and his colleagues at theย University of the Virgin Islandsย researched and developed the use ofย deep water cultureย hydroponic grow beds in a large-scale aquaponics systemOther institutes focused their research on “ebb and flow” systems (also known as “flood and drain”), which were partially based on the original ideas developed atย North Carolina State University, but where coarse media (such as gravel or expanded clay) replaced sand, while bell syphons allowed an ebb-and-flow irrigation cycle,ย such systems are also known as “Speraneo Systems” because they are based on ideas developed in the 1990s by Tom and Paula Speraneo, owners of an aquaponics farm in Missouri.

The first aquaponics research inย Canadaย was a small system added onto existing aquaculture research at a research station inย Lethbridge,ย Alberta. Canada saw a rise in aquaponics setups throughout the ’90s, predominantly as commercial installations raising high-value crops such as trout and lettuce. A setup based on the deepwater system developed at the University of Virgin Islands was built in a greenhouse atย Brooks, Albertaย where Dr. Nick Savidov and colleagues researched aquaponics from a background of plant science. The team made findings on rapid root growth in aquaponics systems and on closing the solid-waste loop and found that, owing to certain advantages in the system over traditional aquaculture, the system can run well at a low pH level, which is favored by plants but not fish.

Parts of an aquaponic system

A commercial aquaponics system. An electric pump moves nutrient-rich water from the fish tank through a solids filter to remove particles the plants above cannot absorb. The water then provides nutrients for the plants and is cleansed before returning to the fish tank below.

Aquaponics consists of two main parts, with the aquaculture part for raising aquatic animals and the hydroponics part for growing plants. Aquatic effluents, resulting from uneaten feed or raising animals like fish, accumulate in water due to the closed-system recirculation of most aquaculture systems. The effluent-rich water becomes toxic to the aquatic animal in high concentrations but this containsย nutrientsย essential for plant growth. ย Although consisting primarily of these two parts, aquaponics systems are usually grouped into several components or subsystems responsible for the effective removal of solid wastes, for addingย basesย to neutralizeย acids, or for maintainingย water oxygenation.ย Typical components include:

  • Rearing tank: the tanks for raising and feeding theย fish;
  • Settling basin: a unit for catching uneaten food and detachedย biofilms, and for settling out fine particulates;
  • Biofilter: a place where theย nitrificationย bacteriaย can grow and convertย ammoniaย intoย nitrates, which are usable by the plants;
  • Hydroponics subsystem: the portion of the system where plants are grown by absorbing excess nutrients from the water;
  • Sump: the lowest point in the system where the water flows to and from which it is pumped back to the rearing tanks.

Depending on the sophistication and cost of the aquaponics system, the units for solids removal, biofiltration, and/or the hydroponics subsystem may be combined into one unit or subsystem,ย which prevents the water from flowing directly from the aquaculture part of the system to the hydroponics part. By utilizing gravel or sand as plant supporting medium, solids are captured and the medium has enough surface area for fixed-film nitrification. The ability to combine biofiltration and hydroponics allows for aquaponic system, in many cases, to eliminate the need for an expensive, separate biofilter.

Live components

An aquaponic system depends on different live components to work successfully. The three main live components are plants, fish (or other aquatic creatures) and bacteria. Some systems also include additional live components like worms.

Plants

Further information: RhizofiltrationA Deep Water Culture hydroponics system where plant grow directly into the effluent rich water without a soil medium. Plants can be spaced closer together because the roots do not need to expand outwards to support the weight of the plant.Plant placed into a nutrient rich water channel in a Nutrient film technique (NFT) system

Many plants are suitable for aquaponic systems, though which ones work for a specific system depends on the maturity and stocking density of the fish. These factors influence the concentration of nutrients from the fish effluent and how much of those nutrients are made available to the plant roots via bacteria. Greenย leaf vegetablesย with low to medium nutrient requirements are well adapted to aquaponic systems, includingย chinese cabbage,ย lettuce,ย basil,ย spinach,ย chives,ย herbs, andย watercress. Spinach seedlings, 5 days old, by aquaponics

Other plants, such as tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers, have higher nutrient requirements and will do well only in mature aquaponic systems with high stocking densities of fish.

Plants that are common in salads have some of the greatest success in aquaponics, includingย cucumbers,ย shallots,ย tomatoes,ย lettuce,ย capsicum,ย red salad onionsย andย snow peas.

Some profitable plants for aquaponic systems includeย chinese cabbage,ย lettuce,ย basil,ย roses,ย tomatoes,ย okra,ย cantaloupeย andย bell peppers.

Other species of vegetables that grow well in an aquaponic system includeย watercress,ย basil,ย coriander,ย parsley,ย lemongrass,ย sage,ย beans,ย peas,ย kohlrabi,ย taro,ย radishes,ย strawberries,ย melons,ย onions,ย turnips,ย parsnips,ย sweet potato,ย cauliflower,ย cabbage,ย broccoli, andย eggplantย as well as theย choysย that are used for stir fries.

Fish (or other aquatic creatures)

Filtered water from the hydroponics system drains into a catfish tank for re-circulation.Main article: Aquaculture

Freshwater fish are the most common aquatic animal raised using aquaponics due to their ability to tolerate crowding, although freshwater crayfish and prawns are also sometimes used. There is a branch of aquaponics using saltwater fish, calledย saltwater aquaponics. There are many species of warm water and cold water fish that adapt well to aquaculture systems.

In practice,ย tilapiaย are the most popular fish for home and commercial projects that are intended to raise edible fish because it is a warmwater fish species that can tolerate crowding and changing water conditions. Barramundi,ย silver perch,ย eel-tailed catfishย or tandanus catfish,ย jade perchย andย Murray codย are also used.ย For temperate climates when there isn’t ability or desire to maintain water temperature,ย bluegillย andย catfishย are suitable fish species for home systems.

Koi and goldfish may also be used, if the fish in the system need not be edible.

Other suitable fish includeย channel catfish,ย rainbow trout,ย perch,ย common carp,ย Arctic char,ย largemouth bassย andย striped bass.

Bacteria

Further information: Nitrogen Cycle

Nitrification, theย aerobicย conversion of ammonia into nitrates, is one of the most important functions in an aquaponic system as it reduces the toxicity of the water for fish, and allows the resulting nitrate compounds to be removed by the plants for nourishment. ย Ammonia is steadily released into the water through theย excretaย andย gillsย of fish as a product of their metabolism, but must be filtered out of the water since higher concentrations of ammonia (commonly between 0.5 and 1ย ppm)[citation needed]ย can impair growth, cause widespread damage to tissues, decrease resistance to disease and even kill the fish. Although plants can absorb ammonia from the water to some degree, nitrates are assimilated more easily,ย thereby efficiently reducing the toxicity of the water for fish. ย Ammonia can be converted into safer nitrogenous compounds through combined healthy populations of 2 types of bacteria:ย Nitrosomonasย which convert ammonia intoย nitrites, andย Nitrobacterย which then convert nitrites into nitrates. While nitrite is still harmful to fish due to its ability to create methemoglobin, which cannot bind oxygen, by attaching to hemoglobin, nitrates are able to be tolerated at high levels by fish.ย High surface area provides more space for the growth of nitrifying bacteria. Grow bed material choices require careful analysis of the surface area, price and maintainability considerations.

Hydroponic subsystem

Plants are grown as in hydroponics systems, with their roots immersed in the nutrient-rich effluent water. This enables them to filter out the ammonia that is toxic to the aquatic animals, or its metabolites. After the water has passed through the hydroponic subsystem, it is cleaned and oxygenated, and can return to the aquaculture vessels. This cycle is continuous. Common aquaponic applications of hydroponic systems include:

  • Deep-water raftย aquaponics:ย styrofoamย rafts floating in a relatively deep aquaculture basin in troughs. Raft tanks can be constructed to be quite large, and enable seedlings to be transplanted at one end of the tank while fully grown plants are harvested at the other, thus ensuring optimal floor space usage.
  • Recirculating aquaponics: solid media such asย gravelย orย clayย beads, held in a container that is flooded with water from the aquaculture. This type of aquaponics is also known asย closed-loop aquaponics.[citation needed]
  • Reciprocating aquaponics: solid media in a container that is alternately flooded and drained utilizing different types of siphon drains. This type of aquaponics is also known asย flood-and-drain aquaponicsย orย ebb-and-flow aquaponics.
  • Nutrient film techniqueย channels:ย plants are grown in lengthy narrow channels, with a film of nutrient-filled water constantly flowing past the plant roots. Due to the small amount of water and narrow channels, helpful bacteria cannot live there and therefore a bio filter is required for this method.
  • Other systems use towers that are trickle-fed from the top, horizontalย PVCย pipes with holes for the pots, plastic barrels cut in half with gravel or rafts in them. Each approach has its own benefits.

Since plants at different growth stages require different amounts of minerals and nutrients, plant harvesting is staggered with seedlings growing at the same time as mature plants. This ensures stable nutrient content in the water because of continuous symbiotic cleansing of toxins from the water.

Biofilter

In an aquaponics system, the bacteria responsible for the conversion of ammonia to usable nitrates for plants form aย biofilmย on all solid surfaces throughout the system that are in constant contact with the water. The submerged roots of the vegetables combined have a large surface area where many bacteria can accumulate. Together with the concentrations of ammonia and nitrites in the water, the surface area determines the speed with which nitrification takes place. Care for these bacterial colonies is important as to regulate the full assimilation of ammonia and nitrite. This is why most aquaponics systems include a biofiltering unit, which helps facilitate growth of theseย microorganisms. Typically, after a system has stabilizedย ammoniaย levels range from 0.25 to .50 ppm; nitrite levels range from 0.0 to 0.25 ppm, and nitrate levels range from 5 to 150 ppm.ย During system startup, spikes may occur in the levels of ammonia (up to 6.0 ppm) and nitrite (up to 15 ppm), with nitrate levels peaking later in the startup phase.ย In the nitrification process ammonia is oxidized into nitrite, which releases hydrogen ions into the water. Overtime a person’s pH will slowly drop, so they can use non-sodiumย bases such asย potassium hydroxideย orย calcium hydroxideย to neutralize the water’sย pH if insufficient quantities are naturally present in the water to provide a buffer against acidification. In addition, selected minerals or nutrients such as iron can be added in addition to the fish waste that serves as the main source of nutrients to plants.

A good way to deal with solids buildup in aquaponics is the use of worms, which liquefy the solid organic matter so that it can be utilized by the plants and/or other animals in the system. For a worm-only growing method, please seeย Vermiponics.

Operation

The five main inputs to the system are water, oxygen, light, feed given to the aquatic animals, and electricity to pump, filter, and oxygenate the water.ย Spawnย orย fryย may be added to replace grown fish that are taken out from the system to retain a stable system. In terms of outputs, an aquaponics system may continually yield plants such as vegetables grown in hydroponics, and edible aquatic species raised in an aquaculture. Typical build ratios are .5 to 1ย square footย of grow space for every 1ย U.S.ย gal (3.8ย L) of aquaculture water in the system. 1ย U.S.ย gal (3.8ย L) of water can support between .5ย lb (0.23ย kg) and 1ย lb (0.45ย kg) of fish stock depending onย aerationย and filtration.

Ten primary guiding principles for creating successful aquaponics systems were issued by Dr. James Rakocy, the director of the aquaponics research team at theย University of the Virgin Islands, based on extensive research done as part of theย Agricultural Experiment Stationย aquaculture program.

Feed source

As in most aquaculture based systems, stock feed often consists of fish meal derived from lower-value species. Ongoing depletion of wild fish stocks makes this practice unsustainable. Organic fish feeds may prove to be a viable alternative that relieves this concern. Other alternatives include growingย duckweedย with an aquaponics system that feeds the same fish grown on the system,ย excess worms grown fromย vermicultureย composting, using prepared kitchen scraps, as well as growingย black soldier flyย larvae to feed to the fish using composting grub growers.

Aquaponic installations rely in varying degrees on man-made energy, technological solutions, and environmental control to achieve recirculation and water/ambient temperatures. However, if a system is designed with energy conservation in mind, usingย alternative energyย and a reduced number of pumps by letting the water flow downwards as much as possible, it can be highly energy efficient. While careful design can minimize the risk, aquaponics systems can have multiple ‘single points of failure’ where problems such as an electrical failure or a pipe blockage can lead to a complete loss of fish stock.

Role of science in making india

New green pasture beckons

In the last few years, science has helped a lot in the development of India. Science has contributed to all the sectors. Science has improved the global economy, increased employment opportunities, saved millions of lives and has played a major role in a lot of industries. Science is very important for the growth and development of India. It even plays a key role in our daily lives. Every country should invest as much as possible in research and development for scientific technologies. In this essay on the role of science in making India we will see how science has helped India to grow in different sectors.

How Indian Scientists have Helped India Grow?

When it comes to Indian Scientists, the first name comes to my mind is CV Raman. CV Raman was the first Asian who won the Nobel Prize. His work was related to light and sound. He investigated that when light passes through a transparent material, some of the deflected light waves see the change in its amplitude and wavelength.

APJ Abdul Kalam is the second name that comes in my mind in Indian Scientists. APJ Abdul Kalam worked as an Aerospace engineer with ISRO and DRDO. He was also president of India from 2002 to 2007. Abdul Kalam contributed a lot to Aerospace. One of the contributions is deploying Rohini Satellite near Earthโ€™s orbit. A few more names are Homi Bhabha, Visvesvaraya, V Radhakrishnan, Satyendra Nath Bose and many moreโ€ฆย

Seven Defining S&T Contributions That Have Impacted Every Indian - The India Saga

How has Science Increased Employment Opportunities?

Whenever any new technology is discovered it leads to new industries. For example, if any new scientific device is invented it will require eligible professionals to control the device. Such inventions help in increasing employment opportunities. This also helps in growth in many businesses which in turn develops the Indian economy.

Curing Diseases and Saving Lives

In the last few years, medical science has evolved so much and saved billions of lives. New technologies like wireless brain sensors, artificial organs, smart inhalers, robotic surgery, virtual reality are making work easier for thousands of doctors around the world. And also these technologies are saving millions of lives and curing diseases.ย

Role in Agriculture Sector

Science has played a very major role in the Agriculture sector. Food is one of the basic needs of our lives. And science has now invented so many new agriculture techniques which have increased production drastically. The old mundane techniques farmers used to follow was very slow, expensive, and required too much effort.

National Technology Day 2021: Science and technology for a sustainable future - The Financial Express

Science has made everything a lot easier for farmers. Improved facilities in irrigation, modern fertilizers, advanced equipment, and pesticides are all helping farmers to work faster, and save more money.

Conclusion

Science has helped us a lot in many ways and it will keep helping. Everyone should not only invest as much as possible in science and technology but also should stay aware of all new technologies developed around the world.ย

Online Classes : Boon or Bane?

Coronavirus is changing the world in unprecedented ways. COVID-19 has its impact on all segments of life. It has also strongly affected whole education system. The sudden impact of corona pandemic in our country not only affects the global economy but harshly damaged our physical, social and mental well-being. The whole education system has been suddenly shifted digitally which is a huge challenge for both the students and teachers. The education system has been turned upside down. Students tend to lose their interest in online learning and itโ€™s very challenging for the engagement of students.

Online education has also proven to be a boon for people who were craving for some ‘me time’ amidst this hustle of life. This could be a great time to work on getting regular sleep, regular exercise, healthy nutrition, and getting regular work hours. We can finally enjoy that hobby that we never got around to. Online classes can often be more cost-effective than traditional classes and can be done at a pace the student is comfortable with.

Advantages of Online Classes

  1.  Online classes are convenient.

The biggest advantage of an online classes is that your classroom and instructor (theoretically) are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Your only excuse for missing class is not getting online. Otherwise, everything is available to you. You can get announcements, access notes, review assignments, take practice quizzes, discuss questions, chat with fellow students and study any time you want. Other than certain due dates, you make your own schedule for completing the requirements of the course.

2. Online classes offer flexibility.

You can study any time you want. You can study with whomever you want. You can study wearing anything you want. Online courses give you the flexibility to spend time with work, family, friends, significant others or any other activity you like.

3. Online classes offer flexibility.

You can study any time you want. You can study with whomever you want. You can study wearing anything you want. Online courses give you the flexibility to spend time with work, family, friends, significant others or any other activity you like.

4. Online classes have financial benefits.

Although you may think that buying a computer and paying for Internet access is pretty expensive, consider what it would cost you to reach to the campus. Consider the costs of eating out versus eating at home. These are very tangible benefits of having access to education at home.

5. Online courses teach you to be self-disciplined.

Most of us put off the things we need to do until the very last moment. When it comes to education, the last moment is the worst possible moment to learn. Sometimes that lesson is learned the hard way in the form of poor performance on an exam or assignment. But ultimately, you succeed because you realize the importance of doing things on time or even ahead of time. That self-realization propels your success in an online course. No one is there looking over your shoulder to tell you to go online and study. No one is there to make you ask questions or post responses. The motivation to study in an online course comes from you. It’s something we call student-centered or active learning. The online student takes responsibility for their course of studies and matures into an individual for whom learning and accomplishment are highly valued. In short, your success depends on you.

Disadvantages of Online Classes

  1. Online classes make it easier to procrastinate.

Procrastination will chop you to bits in an online course. There is no one to tell you to get to class on time. There is no one reminding you that assignments are due or that exams are coming. It’s easy to put off reading and assignments in the online environment. Before you know it, weeks have gone by, you haven’t done any homework and its exam time.

2. Online classes require you to be responsible for your own learning.

Only you are responsible for your learning. No one can force it on you. No one can make you study. Teachers can share a little knowledge and experience, show you a few tools and hope you get it. The spark and desire to pursue your dreams must be yours. So, the real disadvantage is that you might not own up to it. You might not take responsibility for your studies and your goals. You might get way behind and never catch up.

3. Online classes require more time than on-campus classes.

Believe it or not, you will spend more time studying and completing assignments in the online environment than you will in an on-campus course. If you are sitting in a classroom, it’s likely that you’ll miss a good percentage of what the teacher says, no matter how focused you are. It’s human nature to zone out for brief periods of time. When you are reading, you will have a tendency to go back over the notes if you miss something and that takes more time. The point is that you will likely learn more in an online environment, but you will have to make a greater effort to accomplish that learning.

4. Online classes may create a sense of isolation.

In an online class, no one can hear you scream. And that causes discomfort for some online students. Studying alone with only the computer as your companion can be terrifying. There’s no whispering in the back of the room, no commanding presence at the front of the classroom pleading for everyone to listen. The online environment is a much different atmosphere that takes some getting used to.

5. Lack of communicational skill development in online students

E-Learning methods are proven to be highly effective at improving the academic knowledge of the students. However, developing the communicational skills of the students is an area often neglected during online lessons. Due to the lack of face-to-face communication between peers, students and teachers in an online setting, the students might find that they are unable to work effectively in a team setting. Neglecting the communicational skills of the students will inevitably lead to many graduates who excel in theoretical knowledge, but who fail to pass their knowledge on to others.

BENEFITS AND LIMITATIONS: Mobile Banking

Advantages

On these days we do our daily stuff with the help of our mobile phones, that also includes banking. Mobile banking is a free, convenient way to keep up with your finances.

A comprehensive mobile banking will reduce errors that users make. There hasnโ€™t been a better time to get familiar with mobile banking as indeed, this is the only way forward.

DISADVANTAGES

OPERATING EXPENSES

It tends to be high in traditional banking, since in addition to having administrative offices, they also have offices to serve their clients in person. Among its main operating expenses are:

  • Paying rents from the premises where they operate
  • Payment of public services and security
  • Expenses in stationary and issuance of the plastics (for making debit and credit cards)

MOVE TO OFFICES AT CERTAIN TIMES

In case of making a transfer or other type of management, in many cases physical presence must be made in the bankโ€™s office and within the business hours established by the bank, which is considered as a great disadvantage.

SLOW PROCESSES

Another disadvantage is the slowest process held in the organization. Another demonstration of the slow process time that transactions between different banks usually take.

HIGH COMMISSIONS

In general, traditional banking commissions are high due to higher operating expenses, which makes many of their products or services more expensive compared to other products or fintech companies.

LOW STIMULUS TO SAVINGS

Due to lower interest rates that traditional banks usually pay their savings to the clients if there is a low saving stimulus. This is because traditional banking promotes more bank loans and they are the ones that generate more interest and collection fees, which allows them to create more fiat money and have more profits.

LIMITATION IN ONLINE BANKING

Although traditional banking is using some functions of online banking, the latter is still limited. For example, in many cases this service is conditioned to the use of some of its product. There is also the problem of limits on amount to be transferred in addition to difficulties or restriction in transferring money to other countrie

CONCLUSION

As smartphones become more commonly used, and their capabilities expand, they may increasingly be the means consumers use to access financial services and manage their finances. Their constant presence also makes them a potentially useful tool for the delivery of just in time financial information or as in decision making.

Given the prevalence of mobile phones, particularly smartphones among minorities, low-income individuals, and younger generations, mobile technology has the potential to empower consumers and expand access to financial services for underserved populations.

The use of mobile banking has increased by more than a third in the past year, and it appears likely to continue to increase as more and more consumers use smartphones. While still small, the use of mobile phones to make payments at the point of sale has increased even more rapidly. Over a quarter of mobile phone users express some interest in using their phones to make payments at the point of sale, giving mobile payments substantial growth potential as the ability to make these payments becomes more widespread.

The two factors limiting consumer adoption of mobile banking and payments are concerns about the security of the technology and a sense that they don’t offer any real benefits to the user over existing methods for banking or making payments. With regards to security, consumers have actually become more likely in the past year to report that they simply don’t know how safe it is to use mobile banking, suggesting that consumers need to be provided with reliable and accurate information on the level of security associated with the various means of accessing mobile banking. In terms of the value proposition to consumers, the significant number of mobile users who reported an interest in using their phones to receive discounts, coupons, and promotions or to track rewards and loyalty points suggests that tying these services to a mobile payment service would increase the attractiveness of mobile phones as a means of payment.

Challenges Facedย : Mobile Banking

Challenges Faced

  • Customer awareness: because of lack of data and awareness regarding mobile banking is  a reason for less trust in mobile banking services and it’s conjointly one more reason for risk and security issue in mobile banking which is a result of this can be new technology in banking and financial set-up therefore all banking client aren’t aware of it and feel risk to adopt it therefore it’s conjointly a big challenge before of mobile banking services in India.
  • Security problems & privacy: there’s security of mobile banking services is massive issue and challenges. In mobile banking for the safety purpose PIN or countersign is employed which can be steal by the offender or unauthorized user if mobile device has loss or steal therefore user got to aware about it. Customers are use sensitive information and data in mobile therefore here risk with pass of a legitimate application as a result of application service are provided by third party it’s going to steal our info and send it to a different third party therefore we’ve to aware of applications used for WAP mobile banking services and transfer a legitimate and authorize application for group action with mobile banking services.
  • Virus & malware attack: there’s conjointly risk with virus and malware attack it’s going to access your account info equivalent to username, countersign and alternative info like in computing system there’s conjointly risk on virus and malware attacks on mobile banking services some  codes are written to default mobile banking like Zeus has used for attacks on SMS banking and Zeus used for steal mobile group action authentication equivalent to password and pin number. therefore it’s a conjointly massive security issue and challenge in mobile banking services.
  • Wireless network: All method of mobile banking service is finished in wireless mode therefore there’s conjointly a security risk in mobile banking services mobile device element contact with cell website and dedicated circuit and microwave for the communication services therefore if there’s any weakness in any a part of this network then risk of attacks is will increase therefore we’ve to secure of these network and network devices for an honest security services.
  • Risk in SMS mobile banking: Format of SMS is in plain text. presently end to finish secret writing isn’t available. The sole encryption is out there in the base station at transceiver and at the SMS server during transmission time. Because of this there’s a risk in SMS banking equivalent to SMS spoofing attack where the offender will send a message on the network by manipulating the userโ€™s number.
  • Authentication issue: In mobile banking there’s authentication risk at the login time or once we access our account through the mobile system as a result of in mobile banking for the authentication PINS numbers are used however PINS authentication technique is associate degree recent method and lots of security problems such as countersign and id thievery were by stealing the password and id unauthorized access is also potential by obtaining the countersign offender might access our account. Another risk regarding authentication in mobile banking as if the mobile has been stolen then the offender may get the countersign through the mobile and might access the account by exploiting your id and password.

IMPORTANCE OF MOBILE BANKING

Mobile banking permits customers to be ready to access banking services from anywhere. Businesses and business homeowners are currently ready to save time by creating use of mobile applications to method their payments or maybe receive funds from shoppers on to their phone numbers. it’s significantly popular among tiny to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

With mobile technology, banks are ready to slow down on operational prices whereas still maintaining shopper satisfaction. The actual fact that any shopper of a bank will build use of their app to request a service, equivalent to opening an associate degree account or maybe the power to schedule debit orders or alternative payments from associate degree application, permits for larger transactional volumes, eventually driving business growth.

Benefits of Mobile Banking

  • Perpetually on- mobile are often always or are often portable due to inherent design, enabling users to act in activities equivalent to travel or meeting people, whereas transactions via mobile devices are equipped with Internet.
  • Location-Centric-Not solely is mobile altogether places, world Positioning System (GPS) is also created to acknowledge phones and tries to personalize supported existing services. distinguishing the situation of net users, provides a special advantage for mobile commerce over wired e-commerce. Using this technology, the mobile commerce suppliers can alter to receive and send info to a selected place.
  • Convenience- others aren’t restricted by time or space, access to electronic activities. For example, people that are stuck in traffic or waiting within the queue are going to be able to shop for their favorite Internet-based activities or manage their daily transactions through mobile commerce applications. customers can apprehend a special comfort that may improve their quality of life. By creating a lot of comfort, the client can be a lot more loyal. As a result, Communication facilities with mobile commerce applications produce a comfortable.
  • Customization – mobile is a far higher influence than personal computers. Therefore, mobile commerce producers style a lot of creative and a lot of custom mode tools. For example, exploiting demographic data collected by wireless service providers, and {data} on this location of the mobile users will do a lot of targeted advertising. Advertising messages are often custom supported by the knowledge provided through consultation with the users initial or previous users looking habits.
  • Establish ability – mobile provides to support the secure mobile phone transactions wherever personal computers are nearly unknown (no name). One person perpetually uses mobile devices and it’s ideal for private -based target promoting ,through the technology of worldwide Positioning System (GPS), service suppliers will acknowledge a user rigorously .Personalize chance to deliver messages to totally different components of area and time through sound and look.

Basics of inflation accounting

Inflation accounting is an improvisation of cost accounting in presence of a considerable rate of inflation or deflation.Historical information on financial statements is no longer applicable when a business operates in a country where there is a significant amount of market inflation or deflation. In some cases, companies are allowed to use inflation-adjusted figures to counter this issue, restating the numbers to reflect current economic values.

Advantages of Inflation Accounting

The following are the advantage of Inflation Accounting

  • It reflects the current( market value) and not the historical cost of the balance sheet.
  • It is highly effective in times of general inflation or hyperinflation.
  • Depreciation of the business is valued and cost on the current price and not on the historical or the carrying value of the asset which is the correct method.
  • Profit and loss will be more reliable and true.
  • Financial ratios based on figures, adjusted to the current value, are a good reflection of reliable integrity of the company.

Disadvantages of Inflation Accounting

The following are the disadvantage of Inflation Accounting

  • Changing in price is a never-ending process hence it becomes difficult every time to reinstate the figures of the company and present the financial statements.
  • Inflation accounting is a complicated process and it involves long calculation and the data gathering process thus increased cost incurred

SLEEP HYGIENE

โ€œSleep’s what we need. It produces an emptiness in us into which sooner or later energies flow.โ€
โ€• John Cage.

Almost everyone has encountered a zombie-like feeling after a night of minimal or no sleep. Even after just one night without enough rest, we can feel drowsy during the day with slowed thinking, lack of energy, and an irritable mood.

Sleep deprivation is when you donโ€™t get the sleep you need, and it is Itโ€™s estimated to affect most of the students, a problem that has only worsened in recent years.

Lack of sleep directly affects how we think and feel. While the short-term impacts are more noticeable, chronic sleep deprivation can heighten the long-term risk of physical and mental health problems.

If you eat well and exercise regularly, but donโ€™t get at least seven hours of sleep every night, you may be undermining all of your other efforts.

How much sleep do you actually need?

Everyone feels better after a good nightโ€™s rest.ย  But now, thanks to a report from the National Sleep Foundation, you can aim for a targeted sleep number tailored to your age.

  • Older adults, 65+ years: 7 to 8 hours.
  • Adults, 26 to 64 years: 7 to 9 hours.
  • Young adults, 18 to 25 years: 7 to 9 hours.
  • Teenagers, 14 to 17 years: 8 to 10 hours.
  • School-age children, 6 to 13 years: 9 to 11 hours.
  • Preschool children, 3 to 5 years: 10 to 13 hours.
  • Toddlers, 1 to 2 years: 11 to 14 hours.
  • Infants, 4 to 11 months: 12 to 15 hours.
  • New-born, 0 to 3 months: 14 to 17 hours.

But a minimum of seven hours of sleep is a step in the right direction to improve your health.

What happens when you donโ€™t get enough sleep?

Short-term problems can include:

  • Lack of alertness. Even missing as little as 1.5 hours can have an impact on how you feel.
  • Excessive daytime sleepiness. It can make you very sleepy and tired during the day.
  • Impaired memory. Lack of sleep can affect your ability to think, remember and process information.
  • Relationship stress. It can make you feel moody and you can become more likely to have conflicts with others.
  • Quality of life. You may become less likely to participate in normal daily activities or to exercise.
  • Greater likelihood for car accidents. Drowsy driving accounts for thousands of crashes, injuries and fatalities each year, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Chronic sleep deprivation can even affect your appearance. Over time, it can lead to premature wrinkling and dark circles under the eyes. Thereโ€™s also a link between lack of sleep and an increase in the stress hormone, cortisol, in the body. Cortisol can break down collagen, the protein that keeps skin smooth.

So lack of sleep could mean more wrinkles! Understand why sleep is so important yet?

How to Sleep Better

If youโ€™re experiencing mild, occasional problems with sleep, try these simple strategies to make you better.

1. Treat getting enough sleep as if it is as important as taking medicine.

With all the demands on our time every day, you might put a good nightโ€™s rest at the bottom of your priority list.

2. Keep a consistent wake time.

Wake up at the same time every day, including weekends or days off.  Waking at the same time every day will actually help you to sleep better at night. A fixed wake time helps to build a strong desire for sleep throughout wakefulness. This sleep drive gradually builds, and shortening it by sleeping in will make it harder to fall asleep the next night. Sleeping in on the weekend makes it much more difficult to wake up earlier on Monday morning.

It also is important to do some relaxing activity such as taking a warm bath or reading a book before bedtime. By making these activities part of your bedtime ritual, you can train yourself to associate these activities with sleep. This association will help you to move more easily into slumber.

3. Put away the smart phones and tablets.

Electronic devices keep your mind humming โ€” and far from the relaxed state you need to achieve before bedtime. So, keep away the gadgets at least an hour ago before sleep.

BOTTOM LINE

Getting frequent sunlight exposure during the day supports a healthy circadian rhythm that helps you be alert during the day and sleepy at night. Regular physical activity can also contribute to a normal sleep schedule, so try to engage in at least moderate exercise every day.

Intricacies of war and the way it is normalized in the 21st century

War is not completely about the action, in fact, to execute the fight, there is a vast economical, logistical factor and many budget constrans. Management plays a key role in such situation more than a day to day business, as every decision a person makes is associated with many lives and there is many stakeholder bodies to answer to.

People usually never fail to respect people in the navy, especially social media has been favoring them for their effort, but it is sad that their life in camps and other navy office workers is not completely transparent which leads to many false assumptions which usually underestimates their work portfolio and the work load, this leads to a lot misunderstanding from the reality. Letโ€™s discuss some reality of War,

People die, not as obvious as its sounds, not on a bed or a hospital but in a survival situation where you either die or cut your hurt arm with a Swiss knife slowly feeling your own bone for the first time to live. Soldiers in action experience practical Paranoia, war never happens often but when it happens lot of trainees will on the field facing foreign men trying to kill by all means and act just as higher officials say who would let you die if it is necessary. There will be a lot of confusion despite the training, if you put your head over the barrier will you be seen or shot? Where are the enemy? Are they  behind you? As you are fighting hand to hand, what are the odds you dying instead of him?

Migration(Keki Daruwalla)- Critical appreciation

Migrations are always difficult:
ask any drought,
any plague;
ask the year 1947.
Ask the chronicles themselves:
if there had been no migrations
would there have been enough
history to munch on?

Going back in time is also tough.
Ask anyone back-trekking to Sargodha
or Jhelum or Mianwali and theyโ€™ll tell you.
New faces among old brick;
politeness, sentiment,
dripping from the lips of strangers.
This is still your house, Sir.

And if you meditate on time
that is no longer time โ€“
(the past is frozen, it is stone,
that which doesnโ€™t move
and pulsate is not time) โ€“
if you meditate on that scrap of time,
the mood turns pensive
like the monsoons
gathering in the skies
but not breaking.

Mother used to ask, donโ€™t you remember my mother?
Youโ€™d be in the kitchen all the time
and run with the fries she ladled out,
still sizzling on the plate.
Donโ€™t you remember her at all?
Motherโ€™s fallen face
would fall further
at my impassivity.
Now my dreams ask me
If I remember my mother
And I am not sure how Iโ€™ll handle that.
Migrating across years is also difficult.

The writer Keki Daruwalla, starts right off referring to general crisis to help the readers to relate to his point of view (ask anyโ€ฆ). He continues adding points that evokes a sense of a dramatic event (ask the chronicles). He slowly turns his narrative tone to a descriptive tone in order to deliver the sentiment right (Going back in timeโ€ฆsentiment dripping).

On the very next paragraph the writer talks about how difficult and sad it is to forget their good times in a creative manner with beautiful use of metaphor (like the monsoons gathering)

On the final paragraph, he brings the readers a step closer to his feelings by talking about family, flashing a dull theme on their minds. He explains how hard is to forget how his mother even looks and realizing how his mother would have felt when she asks the writer if he remembers her mother. This sentence also explains how long the entire partition process took. He finishes off his poem with these final words, โ€œmigrating across years is also difficultโ€ where he clarifies all doubt and clearly states that it was all about the psychology effects and issues which trouble the people more than the migration itself.

Overall his poem talks about the leftover side of the โ€œPartitionโ€ and adds weightage to it on the histories of India!

Animals that can go extinct by 2050

Climate change is real and happening rapidly causing our ecosystem to change drastically. As a result of this and poaching many animals can go extinct in next thirty years if we donโ€™t do something about it. Scientists have said that this mass extinction might be the worse one our planet has had since the disappearance of dinosaurs.

Here is a list of few animals which can go extinct by 2050 if changes arenโ€™t made.

Rhinos

All species of Rhinos face a risk now due to illegal poaching as their horns hold great value. Northern white rhino has only three left and Javan Rhino has merely 60. Steps need to be taken to protect them and itโ€™s possible. The white Rhino was also on verge of extinction but due to conservation programs of South Africa their numbers have grown up to over 20,000. So donate and volunteer to make change.

Polar Bears

They may not yet be listed in endangered but their species are the one which is affected by climate change the most. Due to melting of ice they are forced to migrate for food and hence their habitat can soon be completely destroyed if nothing is being done about it. Evidence also states that some of them started mating with grizzly bears after migrating to less tropical zones and hence their pure species might as well go extinct. One important step people can take is participate in programs to reduce emission of greenhouse gases.

Gorillas

Currently four species of gorilla are listed as endangered. Cross river gorilla at less than 300, Eastland lowland gorilla whose population have gone down by 50 percent, and the mountain gorilla whose population is less than 900. The biggest threat to them is considered poaching, and habitat lossโ€” due to mine digging. Western lowland gorillas are considered in critical state of being endangered due to Ebola virus, poaching and habitat loss. WWF organization helps to their cause and you can provide your assistance through donations.

Cheetahs

In over a century the total number of cheetah have gone down from over 100 thousand to less than ten thousand. The main threat to them is habitat loss. Cheetah conservation fund helps to their cause and you can volunteer and donate to give your assistant.

Orangutans

Both the species of Orangutan; Sumatran and Bornean are considered as endangered due to deforestation, hunting for bushmeat and wildlife trade. To support to the cause you can assist Orangutan foundation by donating and volunteering.

Sumatran Tigers

Their number is merely less than 500 now and due to habitat loss they are extremely endangered. They are a common victim of illegal poaching and wildlife trade. To help them Leonardo DiCaprio foundation and WWF came together for combined effort of doubling up the number of tigers by 2022. You can assist the cause by donating and volunteering.

SAVING PRIVATE RYAN- MOVIE REVIEW

Right within the first ten minutes of this movie, you could tell that this wasn’t just going to be another generic war movie with heavy reliance on explosions or the excitement of the protagonist killing some Nazis. This film is meant to truly depict the horrors of wars and not just Hollywoodize the whole experience. Steven Spielberg helms this project beautifully, in the sense of not only accurately depicting what took place on that fateful day but also the mental stature of the soldiers going through it all. I also thoroughly enjoyed some of the artistic elements that Spielberg had to offer. I thought the eerie silence amidst all the explosion and gunfire panning across the casualties added a new degree of morbid realism. Though most of this movie is pretty dreary (as it is meant to be), whenever there is even a glimmer of hope for our protagonist there is just a profound feeling of happiness. This movie just magnifies your emotions that even the simplest laugh or just listening to a song just puts a smile on your face. Tom Hanks puts on a wonderful performance really depicting what a Captain might be going through physically and emotionally, at a time like this, coupled with his interesting character arc and characteristics . I felt the score by John Williams was strategically used, only to add more weight to a scene when it needed it, and not vacuously like so many other movies. The last thing I would like to praise is the masterful camera work and the adroit use of the hand held cam, adding to the realism. My only problems with the movie is that it appeared to drag a bit towards the end and its expandable crew.

REACH TEACHNOLOGY is globally, apparel/fashion is a USD 2.4 trillion market. According to Mckinsey Consulting :” If it were ranked alongside individual countriesโ€™ GDP,the global fashion industry would represent the worldโ€™s seventh largest economy.”

Apparel is also one of the most fragmented sectors with complex supply chains characterized by friction in information exchange and transactions between various stakeholders.

The vast majority of apparel manufacturing organizations are Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises( MSME s).

Quite a lot of technology enablement has happened on the demand side ( eg. online sales catalogues, AI to understand consumer preferences and make recommendations etc.) However,on the supply side, technology enabling millions of apparel MSMEs is work far from done.

Tech enabling millions of apparel manufacturing MSMEs will benefit all stakeholders in the value chain, including big retailers and brands, as no amount of demand forecasting will ensure that the merchandise reaches the store in time if apparel manufacturing firms are not IT enabled.

Carrying out Pattern Engineering, Grading and Marker Planning manually is a notoriously inefficient and cumbersome process. REACH CAD effects significant time and labor savings by automating this process.

REACH CAD streamlines and improves efficiency of the product development team by safeguarding against people turnover, eliminating manual errors, building a knowledge base that can be used to create and re-create patterns and markers and by enabling collaborative team working. Manual patterns get worn-out and torn and cannot be re-used to create even slightly different styles.

REACH CAD uses apparel specific intuitive and user-friendly tools to engineer patterns, grade the base pattern to various other sizes and to tightly pack these patterns to form the most efficient markers. Figuring out optimal layout of patterns to form tight markers needs the application of spatial visualization skills: this is best done on a computer monitor and not by going back and forth on a table.
