Most intellectuals and psychologists recommend students to go for the internship because it will increase their knowledge, confidence to face the problem during work. Just as the college experience helps in dealing with the office environment. Such experience helps students in the long run. So students should look for the internship. That will invest your time properly that you can waste here and there in other activities. Especially during summer vacations, you can utilize your time through involving in any internship.

Research shows that those students who indulge in internships are more productive and good at problem-solving than those who are much in academics. Academic knowledge is vital to understand the problem But if you want solutions, you should go for the practical experience that only training and internship can give you. In fact placement cells in the colleges also look for students who have practical experience. During the internship, you will learn some vital skills as well like confidence and body language. Internships and training also make your financial security. Some internship provides stipend also for the work. Also, expertise in work during the internship can lead you to get a permanent job. As some agencies provide regular or permanent jobs to their best employers during the work. Many students receive jobs while doing the internship. Especially look at the intens for hire. Therefore internship and training have a significant place in a student’s life. Even Doctors and Engineers have to go through technical training before beginning their work.

mental illness during pandemic

Mental Illness during Pandemic.
Covid19 pandemic hit the masses most severely mentally. The trauma from looking for the medicine, hospital beds to dealing with the mass of dead bodies, from being left jobless to mass migration and suffering. These all circumstances severely impacted our mental state. A tremendous number of people have lost their dear ones. And some are fighting for their life. While their loved ones and family are busy in the constant search of medicines and oxygen cylinders. Those who are safe are also suffering from mental illness by looking at their environment. Full of grief, devastation. This time is very hard. And financial crisis makes this problem. So many families especially of the lower class. Left without money and aid. Those who earn daily and labor are struggling a lot. These financial bottlenecks resulted in mental illness. Especially those students who are handling the digital divide. Faces stress and mental illness. All students couldn’t afford online education due to a lack of digital gadgets. That acts as a hindrance to the growth and education of unprivileged students. The cost of academic education and institution creates a financial burden for the students and the family. some can deal with it. But those who couldn’t eventually end up dropping out there college and institute. That leads to mental stress among the students. Recently, the cases of suicide by students increase manifold. That shows how mentally covid have impacted the students. Therefore cases of suicides are reported manifold. Students who are privilege enough. Also facing mental trauma. Online education also created an additional problem, technical glitches, electricity problems, access to devices, are major problems related to online education. That cause mental stress, headache as well as eyesight problems. This problem can be overcome through everyone’s participation. All need to contribute. By providing financial aid to the needy. And by including in the conversation as much as possible with our friends and family in this hard time. Chatting with each other acts as a medicine to cure the ailment of mental stress.

Students misery

The covid pandemic not only impacted adults but students also. At one place the children lost their childhood and on the other hand, students are concerned about their career, future that seem bleak to them due to covid devastating impact on the economy.

one of the most significant reasons is finance and the need for funds. Students are concerned because the global pandemic has created havoc in the employment sector. This resulted in many job losses in the informal sector. As the country is closed so those earning money daily and business have to suffer. The question of school, college, and tuition fees is another issue. This, in turn, has been magnified in the lives of the students and the youth of the country. The financial crisis within the family has bothered almost the majority of the population, especially the students.

The very first concern is the digital divide. Accessibility of digital gadgets especially among the lower economic classes. Eventually, which means withdrawing from school to some students. Being already distorted by financial emergencies, the necessity of digital devices acts as a hindrance in the way of student learning. leading to many students dropping out from formal courses and institutes. increasingly pitted against the highly competitive labor market with most being trapped in the vicious cycle of underpaid labor or disguised unemployment.

The government too is not in a position to solve this problem of digital devices because of treatment and aid expenses.

this economic crisis has an unfortunate effect on the mind of the students. The financial dependence on the family, often severe, mostly reduces them as isolated victims. It also hinders the access to academic opportunities of the student. . Many family members getting affected and the huge expense occurs on treatment, amidst the acute scarcity of oxygen cylinders and other medical pieces of equipment.

The students are facing the problem of academic costs at the same time when a lump sum amount is required for admission failing which the seat might get canceled.

Further, the debt trap will lead to a greater burden in the future for repayment with interest, leading to more psychological suffering. The hostility between maintaining academic costs as well as fending for health expenditure has had severe effects on the young minds, putting their future and aspirations at stake. In this situation, a and well-planned approach is needed to address the issue of financial crisis which can be aided by the government.

Is it a Happy New Year?

The Year 2021, this year seems like giant waves of oceans going down and down. Our country gets badly downtrodden due to the social, political, and economic issues that continue to prevail, due to an invisible enemy in the form of the deadly virus.

This virus shows no mercy to anyone doesn’t matter which class, culture, and religion person belongs to; it spares no one. As the cases went up, so did the false WhatsApp forwards, chaos, panic-buying, and fear among people. The increased cases and dilemma is frightful people. As people taking hurt over their mental health, too.

From the news of unknown viruses to fearing even a slight increase in body temperature, to look for medicines and oxygen cylinders, people have experienced it all. In the beginning. To ‘deal with a spontaneous and devastating situation the Indian government announced an out-and-out 40-day lockdown. Everything came to a standstill—except divisive journalism and discrimination.

While most people don’t have the privilege and luxury to stay home, quarantine isn’t a blessing for many. it lead rise in mental illness since the coronavirus outbreak. The level of stress and anxiety has heightened.

The apprehension about job security, draining of savings, or unavailability of basic things for survival, ambiguity. People who were already suffering from mental illnesses looked upon engaging themselves in outdoor activities and meeting their dear ones as the only coping mechanism. Now they have no option but to dive into the same misery they were battling. along with that crimes such as theft, murder, extortion, molestation, etc., are increasing at an unpredicted rate

COVID-19 is just not another death-dealing health hazard. It has more profound implications that society would have to bear post lockdown too.

Enlightenment as a mass betrayal

The radio, newspaper, and TV. All are mediums of communication. They all were invented to enlighten human beings. Every creation has its purpose So they have. It’s true that for daily information we depend on this medium but does this products assisting us. Or it’s just deception. The reality is they are a tool in hands of cooperation to earn profit. And increase their business. Providing information is just a business. we get only that much information that cooperates giants want. As half of the media is dominated by politicians and giant cooperates. That influences their credibility. Hard to believe but this is a bitter truth. this invention acts like a tool in those hand who have money. consumerism is created intentionally through media in the form of advertisement. Advertisement creates a desire in human beings. This desire resulted in more consumption thus adding profit to the big giants. That shows how people are betrayed. Today content is created in such a way that doesn’t make a person intellectual. But merely a passive consumer.
In this gamble and deception, along with corporate giants, politicians are also involved. They use the mediums to propagate their message. Thus people consider the propagated message as truth. Start believing it and thus there ideology and perspective got to change. These tactics can be a hindrance to the democracy and sovereignty of the country. The enlightenment that media promise somehow vanishes because of the huge enrollment of money. People themself need to enlighten. By becoming the active audience by actively analyzing, understanding every message. We can be saved from this mass deception through the mass medium. Just we need to be vigilant in our approach whenever we encounter a media product. we need to understand the hidden motive behind that content. We need to know who is the creator of the content. And what purpose the content fulfills for the creator. Thus content by media or medium of communication needs to be observed. To better understand them. To save ourselves from enlightenment as mass deception.

“Online Education and Digital Divide”

Recently our Union minister Prakash Javadekar said in the Lok Sabha, “No child was deprived of online education during the pandemic as the government had taken several steps in that direction.” Such a statement is nothing but a mere lie when we encounter reality.

A majority of Indian school students do not have the means or privilege for online education. Some face network and technical glitches. Some face electricity problem. The non-availability of gadgets is another problem. Accessible and compulsory education has always been a challenge in India. Right to education is something that is written merely on paper not exist in the real world. The pandemic broadened the pre-existing gap making online education a commodity of sheer privilege. During the lockdown, thousands of students have suffered due to the digital divide. Taking the example of the Indian state with the highest literacy rate, Kerala witnessed numerous cases where students took away their lives due to a lack of accessibility to digital tools. sometimes Internet accessibility act as a hindrance.

the obvious failure of the system and concerned authorities witnessed from the devastating act of suicide by the students. Not just that; for powering devices, access to electricity is crucial for digital education. Some states such as Bihar and Uttar Pradesh have a severe problem with electricity.

In the rural area, the houses received electricity for less than 12 hours a day. most of India’s population lives in villages where only 15% of rural households have access to internet services. Whereas in urban areas, it’s 42%. Moreover, India witnessed a spike in unemployment during the lockdown affecting the livelihood of millions.

Especially compulsion of electronic gadgets for online education became a severe problem as in rural areas subsistence is very difficult. Not every rural person could afford expensive gadgets. In most households with a meager income, eating three meals a day was not guaranteed, purchasing costly internet plans or devices cost them a fortune. From mortgaging assets to cutting off on essential household expenses, families have done it all to make online education a possibility when the government schemes failed to reach the neediest.

Although several NGOs, social groups, and individuals rose to link this digital gap by sponsoring smartphones and laptops, the negligence by the authorities can’t be overlooked. An ordinary Indian citizen expects its government is to at least acknowledge the problem. After all, how will one solve the problem if one does not acknowledge it!

Nepotism in today’s Bollywood

we are living in a feudal society, but still, nepotism permeates everyone. however, the film industry is trapped in nepotism.
Nepotism can be defined as an act of using power or position in an unethical manner to get the dear ones in the same field. It not only exists in business but also in the Bollywood industry. this topic has been raised many times in the Bollywood industry and unfortunately having a negative impact rather than a positive impact on the lives of celebrities. Before the incident of Sushant Singh Rajput, this topic was not discussed seriously. But after his death, Bollywood was trapped in nepotism and many celebrities were interrogated. many celebrities talked about nepotism openly. Some talked positively and some in a negative manner.
Kangana Ranaut came into the industry in 2006 with the movie Gangster. She was the one to raise this topic negatively as she labelled filmmaker Karan Johar as the flag bearer of nepotism in the show Koffee with Karan. Due to this, she gained prominence. She also called Tapsee Panu and Swara Bhaser outsider. After Sushant Singh Rajput death many actors were trolled and questioned on nepotism . Because of this, many celebrities also lost fan following.
We often say that some star kids are excellent actors and done their work very well. But we said some not all because some star kids don’t take their work seriously and due to the lack of seriousness films get flopped. Nothing is wrong with exercising power based on one’s family background/star kids, but at least chance should be given to the newcomers or outsiders and even to those who don’t have any connections or godfather in Bollywood. So, they can make their names and show their talent to the public.

Real Happiness

Today in this consumerist world, the actual meaning and definition of happiness got changed. Earlier the happiness lies within the relations between the people. But growing industrialization and materialistic nature. Change the meaning of happiness for common people. today’s happiness is not the smile of the people. But the luxury became the source of joy and happiness. Social media and the internet managed to make human beings individualistic. Relation and ties among the masses are just a matter of messages. The real happiness now lies in materials and luxuries. Humans want more and more. The never-ending demand and grief of the human have wiped the concept of the real happiness. It changed its meaning. It alters its values. The early tradition, rituals, and get together don’t matter anymore. Today rituals are just a matter of fun. People don’t believe in meeting with each other. Humans today happy in the isolation. With all the materialistic objects and comfort. But if material and luxury are not happiness. Then what is happiness? It is something that we get after seeing someone happy. It is something we get after helping someone else. By looking after anyone else than yourself. It means keeping aside the greed and doing generous work. It means sidelining your sorrow, ego for someone else happiness. The sad fact is that today humans do not look after happiness. Now the happiness doesn’t matter to humans. Human is lost somewhere in the consumerist world. And so human happiness also lost.
The need of the time is to look for the real happiness. To realize that real happiness comes when you do something for someone else. Materialistic things can give you comfort and luxurious life. But it can’t give you that warmth that happiness that feeling that a real human being can give you. Human being need to understand his/her role as a human And need to look after other people to there dearest one. So that along with happiness ,humanity can be saved.

Biden Rules begins

President Joe Biden has baited office in a country looking prominently different than it did on his forefather’s inauguration Day.Covid19 has killed more than 4,00,000 Americans, with a big part of socio-economic toll impute to federal Mismanagement, The US has also renounced its role as leader of the free world, squabbled with democratic allies while keeping authority populist’s everywhere, snicker at its post-truth misadventures. This month’s attack on the capital represented the domestic broadcast has poisoned the polity. In the short, the new administration has its work cut out invent correctives at multiple levels. It is a mighty challenge. But democracy is hypothetical on elections making a difference.

The promise of a new dawn is both powerful and credible. The diversity, temperance, and experience of the incoming cabinet strongly suggest that they have a good measure of the problems at hand, and the ambition to attempt solutions one clear aspirational target is 100 million doses of covid19 vaccines n the first 100 days. Then, Janet L Yellen, who will be the new treasury secretary and America’s top economic diplomat, has verbalized as priorities both addressing the economic damage of the pandemic at home and repairing relationships with various allies abroad to take on china’s (illegal, unfair and abusive practices) collectively.
After the vain of institutions and Clutter or flailing seen in the Trump years, it will indeed take solid international cooperation to revitalize the global rules-based order. The incoming secretary of state Antony Blinking has shown a welcome so be saying,(We’ll engage the world, not as it was, but as it is)Pragmatically speaking, rebukes on human rights issues for India may be part and parcel of Washington’ liberal festival alongside the many Indian and American in the Biden Team.

Women empowerment

Amongst covid-19 pandemic, 2021 budget has potential to increase women labor force participation up to 2 percent this year.

Nirmala Sitaraman, Minister of finance, the government of

India shared that budget 2021 has the potential to increase the employment of

women. COVID-19 pandemic had disproportionately impacted women

forcing them to drop out of the workforce. The women labor force participation according to the center comes down from 25 percent to 21 percent, due to job loss by women. In urban India only 12 out of every 100 still employed are women, a shocking

statistic, down from the already low 18. No doubt the covid 19 pandemics have resulted in many challenges such as pay disparities and expensive child care is an economic downturn that hit women workers measurably harder than men. Whenever the economy shrinks people lose jobs, then look for another job but women aren’t sitting it out so much as being pushed out by disproportionate job loss,

lack of child care, pay disparities, and lack of public policy to support working women. women with children are much more likely to report that working from home has hurt their productivity and affected their careers  .there are three drivers of increased women labor force participation 1.Jobs that exist in locations where the woman has family support.2) Contemporary and new skilling (like digital marketing, for instance) that allows for marketability3) A government mandate that enables small businesses to be rewarded for hiring more women. The allowance of women to work in all shifts is a move towards reducing the gender divide brought in by COVID-19. This will help industries such as IT and BPO in Special Economic Zone’s, manufacturing companies in sectors such as Textiles, Pharma- as well as large organizations with a national presence. The textile industry, one of India’s ancient industries that employ the largest numbers of women has received a big stimulus with the announcement of seven Textile Parks. The third aspect which would allow small businesses to be rewarded for hiring women has not seen any pull in any of the budgets presented in the few last years. Large organizations in metropolitan cities have already bought the business case for both genders that led to women’s employment being enhanced. It is the 2 and 3 level metropolitan cities and towns that need the influence of involvement. And this is where there is a large population of women – educated, career-seeking, and yet unable to earn

reasonable money due to the non-availability of jobs matching their aspirations. As per data, young women in the age group of 20-24 across urban locales, are more interested in being employed than similar-aged women in rural India. As such, this is a very important talent pool, waiting to be engaged. The BPO and micro-enterprises in these locations will require a stimulus to engage women more proactively. Had the budget addressed this, by providing a bit small, yet encouraging a sum of money to employers of women, India would have seen a jump in women’s job creation to almost double-digit increases, which will have a multiplier effect on the economy.

WhatsApp’s new privacy policy.

Identifiable living individual and includes names, email Ids, ID
card numbers, physical and IP addresses. Data is the large
collection of information that is stored in a computer or on a
network. Data is collected and handled by entities called data
fiduciaries. The processing of this data has become an
important source of profits for big corporations. Companies,
governments, and political parties find it valuable because
they can use it to find the most convincing ways to advertise
online. The physical attributes of data where data is stored,
where it is sent, where it is turned into something useful are
called data flows.

WhatsApp’s decision to delay the update of its privacy policy,
following a backlash from its users, is an implicit
acknowledgement of the increasing role played by
perceptions about privacy in the continued well-being of a
popular service. Problems for the Facebook-owned app
started earlier this January when it announced an update to
its terms of service and privacy policy, according to which users would no longer be able to opt out of sharing data with
Facebook.

February 8 was kept as the deadline for the new terms to be
accepted. This triggered a mass withdrawal from WhatsApp,
the likes of which it has never encountered, not even in the
aftermath of the Cambridge Analytical scandal, which did
bring a lot of bad press to its parent, or when the messaging
app’s co-founders called it quits a few years ago. The
WhatsApp policy update has clearly spooked many users,
who, concerned about their privacy getting compromised,
have shifted to alternative platforms such as Signal and
Telegram. WhatsApp has asked for data which contains your account
information such as Phone number, the name attached to
the account, the profile photo you currently have for
WhatsApp, the device you are using, the time when you have

constitutes legitimate uses of data and how businesses,
governments and political parties can and cannot use data .A

Media mere puppet for politicians and giant corporations.

Media, the fourth pillar of democracy act like a puppet in front of politicians lately. With many toolkits, cases highlight. Excessive paid news reporting during Election. Exhibits how media is governed by political parties. Today massive advertisement by the political parties shows the nexus between media and political parties. Showcase their close economic connections. Media also alleged for running agenda and propaganda for their allied politician during elections. Which hampered the credibility of the media. Many journalists appear to favor their alleged political parties openly in their text, report, and debate. Even the questions asked in interviews are biased one sustaining only one side or party. Its been observed during elections, this funding increase manifold. To dominate media investment partnership, toolkit, gifts, privileges are some tactics that political parties used without coming into suspicion. Such malpractice is performed by political parties to bribe the Media. To use it as a weapon during election campaigns. witnessed in the way media seems divided in their message. They showcase only the positive side of their party, their positive work shaping the idea and ideology of the common people. Media runs agenda and propaganda to deviate audience from the basic problem of the society and shift towards the direction their funders want. media propagates only those messages there supportive parties want. Maximum paid news reports are linked with political parties. Many politician leaders names are highlighted and summoned by the election campaign. But lack of proof and unwillingness lead to no fruitful result. And no severe action was taken place. Now media listen and write only what there investor wants. The incomplete, partial and biased information shared by the news channel became a hindrance for the sovereignty of the country. Severe actions and identification of the political parties became the necessity of time. the large number of manipulation on the part of the media shows that it has lost the credibility and trust that people have in them prior. Passive audience are consuming the biased or manufactured message that can hamper the autonomy and sovereignty of the country. Nowadays, Beside politicians many private institutions and cooperate giants seem to invest their large chunks in the media .For example, Mukesh Ambani, his family and friends owned INX Media recently. That show media became a puppet now.

How to write Advertisement Scripts?

For every business to prosper it is important that people are aware about the product existing. For this the advertisement becomes very important, but there are also thousands and millions of advertisement existing in the market. Thus it becomes very crucial for the company to produce an advertisement which stands out among these thousands and also attract the audience towards the product. This then comes to the hiring of Advertisement Script Writer. But how can we learn to write out-of-the-box script? Here are a few things to be learnt for the same:

First, let us understand what are the basics of Advertisement writing:

Primarily written for visual mediums:

While writing the advertisement script we must keep in my mind that it is been written for the visual medium. People don’t read something which doesn’t attract them at once. And for the primary attention of the people the visual portrayal must be outstanding.

Brevity is the key:

Because of the short time, it becomes a crucial task for the writer to use simple and exact words which also captivate the eye of the reader.

Needs planning and creativity:

Writer must be aware of the lack of time and thus plan the advertisement in a manner which outsources everything regarding the product in a minimal time. For this author must generate his creative cells in the brain.

Recognize the Target audience:

It is really important to plan the advertisement according to the target audience. If the advertisement is about a tractor then it becomes necessary to create an advertisement which suits their needs.

good Appeal:

For the best appeal a writer can use the cultural sentiments of the targeted audience or may even use multiple daily routine slangs of the audience. This will draw the audience towards the product.

Duration:

We all have seen various new advertisements on the television. One thing to notice among those advertisements is that with time the duration of same advertisement gets short with the passage of time. Thus it is necessary that writer employs his writing skills in a manner that even the duration is reduced, the essence of the advertisement must remain exact.

Composition:

Last but not the least is the composition of the advertisement. After taking care of all the above elements, The composition is the element which is the most important one. If the composition of advertisement is not good enough then the advertisement will lack audience’s attention. It is the job of the writer to thoroughly look at the composition of the advertisement. For this he even might consider taking help of Script Doctors.

Let us now look at the stages to write an advertisement script.

The FORMAT of an advertisement script is as follows:

  1. Font: Preferred font is courier, but there is nothing specific about fonts in Advertisement Scripts as it is in the Scripts for Movies, Plays, Web etc.
  2. Structure: Usually two columns are used for the advertisement script, rarely three. The first is about the video, the second describing the dialogues and the third is about the duration (if the column exists)
  3. Size: The script must never exceed the length of a page because the advertisements are just a minute long.
Here is an example of the advertisement script:

Some of the KEY POINTS to remember while writing an advertisement script are:

  1. Understand the Product: The writer must be aware about the Features and the Unique Selling Point (USP) of the product.
  2. Understand the Target Audience: Who is this product for? Young or Old? Men or Women? Rich or Middle working class?
  3. Do research: Understand the product and your competition. Mention the key features of the product which are different from others.
  4. Think out of the box: Emotion is the hook. Humour adds an extra punch to the script, thus cleverly employ them for the task.
  5. Writing: Don’t write to impress, write to communicate the core message clearly. Also focus on the language which is used by the target audience.
  6. Emphasize the need: Allow your audience to realize the worth of the product and also why do they need it.

Learn it all about Editing here.

When you write a book, you spend day after day scanning and identifying the trees. When you’re done you have to stay back and look at the forest.

STEPHEN KING, Author of ‘It’, ‘Misery’ and many other horror fiction novels.

For a writer, Editing is one of the most important elements in their article. It revises the article and makes it accurate. While writing, the author may not be able to focus on the grammar or correctly using the punctuation marks, which makes editing an almost inevitable activity for the writer. But how can editing be done properly? Let’s find the solution from the following questions.

Before we start the first question which arises is ‘What is Editing?’ Editing is a preparation of written material for publication by correcting, condensing, and modifying it. It follows the principle of 3 Cs i.e., Complete, Correct, and Consistent. It ensures that the work is complete, it does not contain any type of typographical errors or grammatical errors, and it also makes sure that the pace, narration, and the flow of the subject are consistent.

After understanding the meaning of editing, another question we find ourselves asking is, Why is Editing so much Important?’ Many times when we write, we are unable to detect grammatical mistakes. We continue writing with our flow without identifying the basic mistakes we are producing in our work. Here by ‘our work’ I do not point towards our daily journal, Instead, I’m talking about the work that is supposed to be read by a third person. No one is going to read our daily journal and thus we don’t have to be grammatically correct in it. But when we are writing for another pair of eyes then it becomes necessary for the writer to be precise with every letter he types/writes. It is also necessary that the work must be without errors because errors are those enemies of the writer who divert the attention of the reader, which may end up with the reader losing his interest to read further.

I am writing a first draft and reminding myself that I am simply shoveling sand into a box so that later I can build castles

SHANNON HALE, Author of ‘Princess Academy’, ‘The Goose Girl’, etc.

How can we start editing? There are two stages of editing. One, When the author edits his work himself. Two, When a second person edits the work. We may wonder that when the editing has been done by the author then why does it become necessary for the work to be edited by a second person? The answer to this question is many a time our eyes can’t detect errors in our work because of the flow our brain follows. Therefore it becomes really necessary for the work to be analyzed by a second person. For Editing, many authors even hire freelancers as a second person who can edit their work.

If your budget is low (like mine) and can’t hire a freelancer then here are some following tools and tricks I like to use before publishing my article:

  1. Keep on checking the punctuation marks and other basic grammars while writing the article.
  2. Make sure that there are no typographical errors.
  3. Checking the correctness and accuracy on Grammarly App.
  4. To find if the pace and narration in the article are consistent, I like to re-read my article at least 4 times.
  5. Sometimes the hard words may distract the reader and so I make sure to use an easily understood and exact word. For this, I sometimes take the help of OneLook Dictionary.
  6. After completing the above steps, I let my work settle for at least one day before publishing it.
  7. On the day of publishing, I read the article once again.
  8. After being fully assured of its correctness, I publish it.

This article which you are reading currently is written by me on 9 May 2021. Let’s see for how many days will it cool down before I publish it.

On Dec 24,1986,the Consumer Protection Act 1986 received the approval of the President of India and came into force. It was enforced so that consumers can be more aware of their entitled rights.

The rights recognized under the Consumer Protection Act,1986,provided in the UN Charter are Right to protection,Right of Information, Right of Choice,Right of Hearing,Right of Redressal and Right of Education.

The theme of National Consumer Day 2020 is “The Sustainable Consumer”.Acknowleding the sustainability of the customer in these critical times is the most important thing to do to sustain Indian economy.

The consumer movement will highlight the changes in lifestyles of consumers so that it gets easy for the government and businesses to make sustainability the easy choice for consumers.

Bad or Not: Cristiano Ronaldo’s Decision is still a Question for All

                                                                                                  -SHUBHANKAR

Just after the 2018 FIFA World Cup came to an end, the big news came from Turin, Italy that Cristiano Ronaldo has signed for the Italian giants Juventus, leaving Real Madrid after an illustrious career with the Spanish giants. The news came as a surprise for many of his fans and everybody thought that he was now on another brilliant journey with Juventus. Before joining Juventus, Juventus had already won the domestic Seriea title 7 times in a row. So, the main motive of Juventus was to win the Champions League, that’s what the fans expected when Cristiano Ronaldo arrived to Juventus. But the journey hasn’t been that pleasing for Cristiano Ronaldo so far it seems.

Yes, Juventus have won 9 titles in a row now, but they are too overly dependent on Ronaldo, and that dependence doesn’t always help win a tournament as big and massive as Champions League rather than Seriea. The 2018/19 Champions league saw Juventus being knocked out by a young Ajax team. The reason wasn’t Ronaldo, but the form of other players. Ronaldo was the one who made Juventus reach the Quarter Finals with his amazing 1 man show against Atletico Madrid but how long can a 1 man show win matches regularly. What the fans believe is that Ronaldo has made a big mistake going from Real Madrid to Juventus, basically wasting his talent. The form he has been, particularly at this stage of his career, where other players at this usually go to small leagues around the world and then retire, he has gone to one of the best teams to perform his level best their and bring the Champions League back to Italy. But for it to happen, the whole team needs to perform with a great enthusiasm which is shown by Cristiano Ronaldo himself. If at this age, he can perform like a beast, why can’t the other players of Juventus. If the Italian giants want to win the Champions League this season, they need to support Cristiano Ronaldo equally and then work as a team and win the Champions League.

The problem with Juventus is the fact that the players don’t really show the intent of scoring goals, rather they keep on defending and defending, and with their some what weak defence they concede and put even more pressure on Ronaldo to score. If it wasn’t for Ronaldo’s 30+ goals this season, Juventus might have lost the domestic title also, the way they have been playing. The mid field just doesn’t look that dominating and with the likes of Ronaldo and Dybala at the top for Juventus, the mid field needs to be more competent to make sure that they supply the right ball to the forwards, creating more chances. The form of Juventus after lockdown hasn’t been that great at all. Not for Ronaldo, it would’ve been a last day battle for the Seriea title also. Now, with the Champions league Round of 16 match with Lyon coming after just a week, the team needs to make sure that they put this all behind and start rejuvenated, so more enthusiastic so that they can atleast fight for a place in the Quarter Finals of the Champions League. With Juventus trailing Lyon 1-0 in the 1st leg, the 2nd leg will be a very crucial match for the Juventus team in general.

In the end, I want to say that the decision taken by Cristiano seems not very good, but we shouldn’t under estimate the Juventus team and players at all, because this team is counted as one of the best in business in European football. So, lets see how it goes on when the Champions League starts in just 1 weeks time.

Arctic’s Ice is Melting: Nature is in Serious Danger

                                                                                                  -SHUBHANKAR

The obvious news has been confirmed by a group of scientists, that the Arctic is melting. Not only is it melting, its melting at a faster rate now. Around 100 climate scientists went to the arctic and have claimed that they’ve probably witnessed the Arctic’s final summer with ice. Now, that’s a big claim which is very terrifying in the near future for humans. The magnitude of melting of the ice is happening at a very rapid rate. With this rapid development, the major issue is the melting which is now happening at a very large scale. The melting of arctic has raised some serious questions on the environment policy employed by the various powerhouses of the world.

In my opinion, the common people have to understand that their day to day activities are making the earth’s temperature rise at a faster rate, leading to the melting of ice at arctic and leading to the rise in natural calamities all over the world at a very large scale. The use of vehicles at a large scale by people, the use of refrigerators and air conditioners, etc. by people on an increasingly large scale has given rise to the emission of greenhouse gases in the environment. The greenhouse gases make the temperature of the earth rise to seriously high levels. With the rise in temperature, its obvious that the ice would melt and result in natural calamities like floods, tsunamis, etc. What the people need to know that the activities of them have made the earth’s temperature rise. Be it the overuse of air conditioners on an unprecedented scale or the omission of harmful gases from the factories all over the world.

One thing is for certain that, if countries don’t focus on saving the environment, it could haunt the people really badly. With the rise in the cases of natural calamities over the years, the main factor has been the climate change. The governments should make sure that policies are made for saving the environment, making it a topic for discussion in public domain. The government needs to give this topic utmost importance, because the time is very less before everything destroys and we have no option left. The use of the top brains need to be made efficiently so that some solution is found out for this big problem. See, with the rise in sea level, the situation of flooding will definitely increase, resulting in loss of lives of people. But who is to blame? It’s the people themselves. Don’t people think that the overuse they do of air conditioners, it could lead to death of somebody innocent. Yes, it is from natural calamity, but its not that natural. It’s the human made calamity, made from the wrong doings of people, be it the industries omitting harmful gases day in and day out.

In the end, I want to say that the people as well as the government of all nations need to understand that if the environment is harmed at this pace, it will not be long before natural calamities be a part and parcel of the daily routine of the future generation. And if this happens, Earth will surely not remain a place for survival of humans.

Following the Footsteps of Google: Work from Home is the new Modal -SHUBHANKAR

The pandemic has been an unprecedented situation not only for a few countries but for the whole world. But the most impacted country of all has been the United States of America. The situation hasn’t improved at all in the US as it looks to reopen after nearly 4 months in lockdown. But as far as experts claim, the Trump administration has failed to make sure that the crisis doesn’t affect one of the largest economies of the world. Yesterday, tech giants Google announced that it is letting its employees work from home for at least another year until July 2021. This decision has been taken in terms of the situation in the United States prevailing because of the Coronavirus.

The US administration and in particular the US President Donald Trump since the start of the coronavirus have always blamed the Chinese government for the outbreak of the virus in not only the US, but around the world. But what the US hasn’t been able to do so far with one of the best healthcare facilities in the world, is to contain the virus spread. The sole reason behind it is the lack of strict restrictions imposed and the willingness of the Trump administration to open the economy back again. The utter eagerness for the economy to be opened back quickly has risked many a lives in the US already and is risking many more. But the appreciation needs to be given to the tech giants google for taking this step, keeping their employees health as a priority over anything else.

What google has done is set an example, that yes we know that these are unprecedented times, but work can be done from home as well. The feeling that work can’t be done from home isn’t the best at all. I know that work should be done at office only, but risking one’s life for the work to be done is the utmost disrespect to one’s work also. The companies need to understand that work can be done from home as enthusiastically as it can be done at the work place physically. With the advancement in technology, working from the comforts of home is the easiest way to work as well as stay safe from the virus which has impacted the whole world, be it the powerhouses of the world or the developing nations. What I want to convey through this article is the fact that companies should make sure that their employees don’t suffer and the work is also not impacted.

In the end, I want to say that what Google did is the best thing to do right now, to make sure that the work is also not compromised and also that safety is established. The thing is to make sure that companies follow the footsteps of google and let its employees work from home for atleast a year from now on until the vaccine is given to each and every person around the world.

OLE is at the Wheel: The Success of Manchester United

                                                                                                  -SHUBHANKAR

What a dramatic turnaround it has been. The 2019/20 season saw the Premier League table turn dramatically at the end of the season. The halted 2019/20 Premier League season, which was halted due to the Covid 19 pandemic came to an end yesterday. This season can be surely termed as one of the best in many years for the Red Devils- Manchester United. Yes, Ole is surely at the wheel right now. The way Manchester United started the season, with the selling of their outright strikers Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez, a top 6 finish was going to be termed as a very good season for Manchester United. But when yesterday the league got over, Manchester United finished 3rd on the overall table, finishing above the likes of Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal and Leicester City. This table showed the grit and determination with which the whole squad played this whole season of ups and downs. The start of the season saw Manchester United at one stage being 14 points behind Leicester City and completed the season with 4 points more than Leicester City.

What made this turnaround possible for a struggling Manchester United team midway through the season? The answer is the signing of the Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes in the January transfer window. The change brought in by the midfield maestro has helped Manchester United perform better than before and helped them have a steady team, building a steady team around him and enjoying the fruitful results. Not only Bruno Fernandes, but all the other players from the squad need to be congratulated as they never gave up and till the end fought like a strong team, which never gives up. With rumours going strong of Paul Pogba not happy, wanting to leave, the club was under pressure. But with the introduction of Ole as the permanent manager of Manchester United, the fortunes have really turned around quite significantly. Yes, Manchester United haven’t won any silverware under him, but he has obviously built a team which in the future can challenge not only for the Premier League but also for the all important Champions League.

What Ole has done, is shown faith in the youth and brought in players from both the academy as well as from the transfer window. He has brought in the young players, building a squad for the future who could challenge for any tournament. Look at the names they have in the starting line up, be it the young English striker Marcus Rashford, French striker Anthony Martial and the teen sensation Mason Greenwood. The midfield also has the mixture of both young and experienced talent like Pogba, Bruno Fernandes, Matic, Scott Mctominay, etc. The major problem what United will face over the next few seasons, which Ole has to focus on and fill the gap as soon as possible is the defence. With the experienced goalkeeper David Degea making way to many mistakes this season, he has to come up with the quality performances again before the criticism increases, leading him to be axed by the club in the near future. The young defenders like Lindelöf and Harry Maguire have to make sure that their mistakes are less going into the new season and that they hold a tight backline. These are things which Ole needs to focus upon in the future, with Champions League football coming up the net season.

What I feel after Ole’s performance this season as a manager and the team he has built is that it wouldn’t be long before Manchester United are back again dominating the footballing world. The main focus for him should be to nurture the young talent into world class players who can dominate the likes of current English champions Liverpool or the ever dominating Manchester City. This team which Ole has played over the course of this season has looked just going on the right track and I feel what the fans of Manchester United have been waiting for, the domination of Manchester United over other football clubs is very very close and the man who could do it is, none other than Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Lessons we learned from the coronavirus pandemic

Do face masks really reduce coronavirus spread? Experts have mixed answers. | Live Science

Coronavirus has already created a havoc in the world by taking the lives of around 571,574 people. Where as till now almost 13,036,587 people have been infected by COVID-19. This is the first mega pandemic which has caused so much panic among the people. This virus doesn’t know how to discriminate people and has ended up infecting all kinds of people from all sides of the world. It successfully forced some powerful countries with the largest economy to impose shutdown. many people in their lifetime might have never witnessed something like this, which can force the world to shutdown.

But don’t you think this pandemic happened because of we people only ? Can we say that this is the karma we are facing for destroying our environment and killing poor animals ? We people have always taken our environment for granted. some scientists think that corona virus originated in bats and could have been transmitted from that. Also huge amount of corona virus traces were found in the meat market of wuhan and the city had to stop the trade of live animal sales because that’s where COVID-19 started. So basically people like us are the reason behind this pandemic. By considering the brightest part of this situation we have rediscovered some values, because we realized that everyone in the world is vulnerable to crises, irrespective of religion, wealth and economy. So let’s know what are the lessons we learned from corona virus pandemic.

SOME MAJOR LESSONS LEARNED :

How to wash your hands and how long it takes to get clean - Insider
  • Hygiene habits : A habit which we are well aware of now. We have all been taught to wash our hands everytime we have been to a place. Earlier we didn’t wash our hands from time to time but now this pandemic has forced us to get few of our good habits back. Rather on today’s date washing hands is a game changer habit to keep the virus away from you. Washing hands with just water in not just enough rather we learned to wash our hands more often with soap, which plays a vital role in killing germs and viruses. Hence we rediscovered the value of washing hands again!
Health Report
  • focus on personal health : Before pandemic we never bothered about our health, we were more into junk foods and less into healthy foods. This pandemic has made us realized the importance of our own health. The more careless we are towards our health the more problems we invite. During this pandemic we have started living a healthy life. people now exercise more often and go for healthy drinks and foods. Because now we understand the importance of having a strong immune system and therefore now we are more conscious about our health. Now we understand the real meaning of “Health Is Wealth” , because money might not save you but a strong immune system can.
Before-and-after photos that show how lockdowns reduced air pollution - Insider
  • Responsibility towards environment : We all can see how our environment is healing during this pandemic. We people are the reason behind the calamities that take place in our earth. Our irresponsibility and carelessness are the only reason for what we are facing today. But the shutdown has given our environment ample time to heal and ample time to we people to think about the destruction we have caused to our planet. The sky and water bodies are more cleaner now, animals and birds are roaming freely without getting scared because there are less cars in the streets, yes the nature is healing as there is less pollution now.

We have taken extreme measures and have changed the way we live our lives to fight for the survival. All these changes have created a positive chain of reaction and it is definitely saving lives. The coronavirus has changed our perception toward’s life.

We might all pay for it unless we take this NEW state of the world as a lesson! A lesson we are capable of taking extreme steps to save lives, A lesson we are capable of reversing our environmental mistake. Once we win against COVID-19, we should not forget the lessons we learned during this pandemic then only we will be in our way to a safer future.

Tourism Industry: Survival of the Fittest is the New Normal

                                                                                                  -SHUBHANKAR

Will the tourism industry ever be the same? The question seems to be unanswerable at the moment in this kind of a situation. Tourism plays a very vital as well as important role in determining the economy of a country. Tourism, especially in India constitutes a major part of the economy. But after the Covid 19 pandemic hit the world, tourism has been shut ever since. And more over if it even starts eventually slowly opening up, people would rather prefer to not travel at this stage when the world is being caught by a pandemic. The only the tourism industry could again start and flourish is with the help of a bit of innovation and technology being used in the tourism industry.

Be it the use of Artificial Intelligence or the use of any other means, but innovation is needed. What the tourism industry could use is the power of advertisement, to advertise about the tourist places, the hotels, the places and also adding a dimension of safety initiatives they would provide, so that the tourists are attracted. Be it the use of robots in hotels to welcome the guests rather than people welcoming the guests. This would be innovative as well as use of technology would mean less chances of transmission of infections. The tourist should be offered good offers or attractive discounts so that tourists can’t resist but plan for going for a holiday. The offers could be like giving heavy discounts or giving relaxation on air fare for tourist destinations. One thing which could be done by hotels could be the assurance of safety measures being provided by them to their customers and also about the food they are providing to the customers, is it properly cooked and is it hygienic or not.

See, nowadays customers would be looking more for hygiene rather than the prices of hotels and tourist packages prices. They would be making sure that if the city or country they are visiting for a holiday isn’t well equipped with their health facilities, then they wouldn’t travel there. So, the tourist destinations should also focus now upon improving the health conditions of the destination by a fair and better margin than it was before. Yes, tourism industries profits would take a toll, but as we know this world is a globalised world, travel can’t stop and the world will be back to normal once again. But till then, the tourism industry has to make a well laid down plan with regards to how they will use the technology available in the world to the fullest use so that customers can be attracted towards these holiday destinations back and tourism starts flourishing again. With the use of innovative ideas, the main aim of the tourism industry now should be to focus more on the marketing aspect, much more than they previously did. Because this time it’s not the customers who would come on their own to holiday destinations, but they would have to be lured towards these destinations through aggressive use of advertisements and marketing techniques, which also includes promotions.

Well, yes the pandemic isn’t going anywhere now, but as is said that tough times also go away and a new beginning is always there, so a new beginning for the tourism industry is always there, just a little bit of effort is required.

Was The Line Really Crossed: The Tale of the Infamous Test Series

                                                                                                  -SHUBHANKAR

Was the punishment really justified? Well, I suppose it was a bit too harsh and involving politics into it became a matter of great concern, highlighting the need for the International Cricket Council (ICC) to have a relook on the rules laid out by them. When the ICC announced the punishments to be imposed on Steve Smith and Camron Bancroft, they were only fines on the match fees of both players and a 1 match ban for Steve Smith. Well, this punishment by ICC didn’t went well with Cricket Australia and Australian public who wanted a more severe ban on the players involved in this misconduct or the prime word could be “Cheating”.

Hasn’t ball tampering been done before by players? Yes, it has been. Yes, not to the extent to which Australia went in that game against South Africa. Camron Bancroft was guilty of using a sandpaper for tampering with the ball. Before we have seen players using sugar or even their nails, but never using a sandpaper, that too with so many cameras focusing on you and with all these latest cameras and with the game evolving so much that nothing can be hided on a cricket field anymore. But the punishment I feel wasn’t justified on the 3 players. Who said that the leadership group only contained David Warner along with Steve Smith, the Captain. Weren’t the senior bowlers like Starc or Nathan Lyon involved. Don’t tell me that the ball is being tampered with or maybe the planning has been done to tamper with the ball without your main bowlers knowing anything of it. It was clearly stated by Steve Smith in his press conference that the leadership group had discussed about this at Tea time in Cape Town test. And knowing the size of the Cape Town dressing room being very small, how come when Steve Smith, David Warner and Camron Bancroft were chatting about tampering the ball, no one knew about it. These are the details which weren’t told out in public and the major players of the team were held accountable, not all those who were involved. Was Steve Smith or David Warner going to ball or even for say Camron Bancroft? No, the bowlers had to ball, so why didn’t they know of this plan. Isn’t Starc so senior a bowler to be part of the leadership group, so why wasn’t he handed over the punishment or why didn’t he come out and justified that Yes, I knew about what was going on. Even if he had told no to what the plan was and was against it, but he knew that something of that sort was about to happen. So, why didn’t he come out in open, in front of the media and let them know of what all transpired in the dressing room that day.

My only question is why was time not taken to investigate the whole matter, rather than just sacking the three from not only their positions, but from the team as well. Why was the prime minister of the country involved? Yes, I know it is a matter of pride, cricket being such a hugely popular sport in Australia, but making a decision so quickly without any investigation and on the basis of political pressure, that’s cruel in my opinion. Why I say cruel is aftermath of the sandpaper gate, what the whole controversy was popularly known as. Before the 4th test match started, Darren Lehman, the then coach of the Australian team called a press conference stating that he will coach the Australian team for the one last time, that being the 4th test. The decision was taken because his family were receiving threats after the 3rd test, and he choose his family first and resigned from the coaching position. But who the hell gave permission to threaten someone’s family. Mistakes do happen, we all are humans, but to go to that extent isn’t fair at all.

Well, giving the backdrop of what happened before the whole sandpaper gate controversy, you would get a sense that this was coming. So, this was another highly anticipated test series between Australia and South Africa. Australian team had dominated the South African’s in their own backyard for quite a while now. But this series was going to be another thriller between these top two teams with brilliant or should I say one of the best pace attacks in world cricket at that moment. Australia came to South Africa on the back of the Ashes series win, with full confidence. South Africa had also beaten the world number one test team at that moment in South Africa itself, the Indian cricket team. So, South Africa were also full of confidence going into the series against Australia. The 1st test between the two sides saw an ugly banter emerge between the Australian’s and the young South African batsman Aiden Markram. The young batsman was targeted and was bantered all over by the Aussies, to the extent that few of the commentators had to switch of their stump mics because it was so ugly a banter. But the things didn’t stop here, it was just the start or we could say just the spark before the actual fire started. The 1st test saw Nathan Lyon, the Australian offie, after running out AB Devilliers throwing the ball upon the batsman, with ICC getting involved and punishing Lyon with a certain amount of match fee deduction terming the action by Nathan Lyon out of the spirit of the game. The banter had gone too far that test match, but it wasn’t over yet. An off field incident between Australian Vice captain David Warner and South African wicketkeeper Quinton De Kock had taken the limelight away from the test match which was still going on. At tea time, de Kock and Warner were indulged in a war of words when players were going back into the dressing room, with the Australian Vice Captain being taken away by his teammates before the things heated up. The 2nd test saw South African pace bowler Kagiso Rabada being banned for the next two tests of the series for having a contact with the Australian captain after taking his wicket and in celebrating the wicket touched the Australian captain. However, Cricket South Africa fought the case, hence over turning the ban on Rabada. So, this was the whole situation before the 3rd and the most infamous test match in Australian cricketing history.

Well, I feel the line was crossed but not to an extent to ban the three cricketers for almost a year. And why only these players, why not the others who I feel according to the circumstantial evidence were definitely involved. However, the bans are over and now all the three are back playing and representing the Australians once again, with all three performing really well. Hope this situation never happens again.

Unprecedented Times: Best Times for Students Learning

                                                                                                  -SHUBHANKAR

When the world has faced such an adverse condition, the change was needed and change has been brought upon with utmost carefulness. Yes, I’m talking about the change in the education system brought about by this pandemic situation, not only in India but around the world. Online classes and education have taken over from the regular classes. Students are now studying from their own homes with their parents and family with them. Many students went back to their homes when schools and colleges were closed by this pandemic, and now are studying through online platforms. Well, the new dimension is not only new for students, but also for various educational institutes as well as teachers. With digital platforms taking over, the main question arises is the fact that are students ready for online classes or is it still early to call.

Well, I feel the students should now be first trained thoroughly about how to best use the online platforms for thoroughly studying and making sure that while sitting at home their education doesn’t take a toll. So, how can they be trained properly. First of all, students should be told about how much screen time is beneficial and how much screen time is harmful for them. Secondly, the educational institutes should make sure that they train students wisely so that the students are comfortable with the platforms being used for providing education. One more thing which the students could do is the use of online courses which could help them enhance their skills in this time of pandemic.

But all said and done, the most important thing is the effective use of time. Students shouldn’t be forced by educational institutes to use laptops and devices all the day. Students should indulge in physical activities so that their health isn’t affected at all. The students should make use of this time to enhance both their physical as well as educational skills. Students at home should also follow a time table which will have a great impact on the well being of the students. Students should develop a habit of being able to adapt to various conditions. Learning is appreciated every time, but education shouldn’t be mixed with creating panic among students. Educational institutes make sure that panic doesn’t stricken students, because for them also this is a rare situation which everyone needs to handle with full carefulness.

In the end, I want to say that, yes these are unprecedented times but these are times where children are with their families, in their homes. This is the best way I feel children can develop skills with enjoyment. Having fun time with family, and with that having education is the best way to learn. This will enhance their learning as well as the family time will mean they are in a great mod always as nothing comes better than studying in an environment which is very useful for their overall development. This is what means the overall development of a student. In this time, this is the best environment to learn for the students.

The Game has Changed a Lot: The IPL has made itself announced Aloud

                                                                                                  -SHUBHANKAR

When in 2008, the 1st season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) started, nobody had thought that this glamourous cricket tournament of 20 overs a side could be one of the most important leagues after almost 12 successful seasons of IPL so far. The league has seen its’s ups and downs, from making unknown players shine with the biggest stars from all around the world or be it the downfall of the league after match fixing was done, banning teams like Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals for 2 years. IPL has seen it all. For me, IPL has helped Indian cricket to grow in many ways by finding talents from all over the country and giving them the exposure to play in front of huge crowds as well as with cricketers from all around the world, making these young talents grow into mature cricketers.

Well, people have their opinions that glamour has overshadowed the cricket, but I don’t think so. Yes, glamour is there, but the quality of cricket is the same as in international cricket. How about taking the example of Jasprit Bumrah, India’s premier pace bowler from the past 2-3 years. How did he came to be known as one of the best fast bowlers the world has ever produced, let alone in India. Its because he got an opportunity to play for the Mumbai Indians in IPL where he developed his skills, played in games where his team were under pressure and performed to his fullest. Got to play with legendary Sri Lankan fast bowler Lasith Malinga, learned a lot from him and gained in his skill set as well as confidence. This is the biggest gain from IPL. That’s what is the biggest pro for this glamourous league. IPL has given many superstars and now they are performing rather well for their respective countries. Many countries boards select players on the basis of there form in the IPL, which is a huge compliment for the IPL, as a cricket league.

But as is said, with pros come cons as well. When the match fixing scandal arose in IPL, it defamed the whole tournament, but the teams and the players took this whole controversy head on and went on playing and making IPL the best twenty-twenty league in the world. Well, another con of IPL could be that selection on the basis of IPL performance can be sometimes unfair, as players performing well in IPL doesn’t mean they would perform well in International cricket also, especially in the toughest format of the game, i.e., Test cricket. For playing or even doing well in test cricket, individuals need to play first class cricket, in India’s case that’s playing the Ranji Trophy. So, I think the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) should also give more emphasis on India’s premier domestic tournament, Ranji Trophy. The improvement in Ranji trophy tournament will mean the overall development of Indian cricket to its fullest.

Well everything said and done, I feel that IPL has added a great dimension, not only to Indian cricket, but to world cricket and given fans a way to enjoy this beautiful game, known as the Gentlemen’s Game- Cricket.

LIVES MATTER A LOT: WAR ISN’T THE SOLUTION TO BE AT THE TOP

                                                                                                  -SHUBHANKAR

Attrocities, destruction, damage and what not, War brings with it all the sadness and destruction at one go on the whole world. But, do the people of this generation understand the intricacies which war could bring with it. I don’t think so they do. We have seen that in matter of no time if there’s a political dilemma between two nations, the first thing what people want is to have a war. But they don’t understand that the level of damage which a war could cause to both the countries engaging in war. The loss of life is the biggest damage one can face everytime war happens. Loss of property can be compensated for, but not the loss of life.

Well, people should understand that its not always war that will determine a solution to a problem. War is one such solution which would result in so much of pain and sacrifice. Have people ever understood the pain one goes through when they lose someone close to them. War isn’t the solution one should look for. There are many other things one can do other than indulging in war, be it diplomatic talks or some other solution. Some wars are fought for the greed of the people in power, which doesn’t result in them being having any sort of pain or grief, but the common people and the soldiers who fight the war, they as well as their families suffer the most. The greed maybe of more resources, more land under their control, etc. but the cost of gaining these greedy needs is the life of someone, life of an innocent, which isn’t right at all.

Why for the greed of power of the so called powerful people, the soldiers and its families suffer? Why can’t a solution without a war been fought can be found out? These are some of the questions which need to be answered because someone’s life is more important or I say very important than the mere greed for which powerful people use their armies for intriguing into a war. It’s not just the armies who get affected, it’s the whole nation which is indulging in a war. Be it the destruction of property or the loss of life of common people, the destruction is irrepairable. This destruction needs to be stopped and the time is running out I suppose. With all the nations having greedy needs, its high time we try to stop this before we get onto a point where war can’t be stopped. If the world has to stop war and erase the word ‘War’ from the dictionary, the time is now. I would just suggest don’t be greedy because greed can sometimes take lives of people which can’t be replaced by any monetary or property gains.

In the end, I want to say that lives of people matter, don’t make people suffer just because of the greed of people in power, because its all about caring for each other rather than fighting against each other. Yes, there can be differences between opinions, but never ever make war the ultimate solution.

Passion and Emotion: Sports has it all

                                                                                       -SHUBHANKAR

Well, call it passion or emotion, sports brings it all out of a person. People say sports is like entertainment, watch it for entertainment, get entertained and leave it there. But ask people who follow sports passionately, who have a special place for a team in their hearts, for them, sports brings out the real emotion and passion. And those people I’m talking about are millions in numbers. People get attached with a team so much that they feel that a team’s victory is theirs victory and losses hurt them hard. I’m not just talking about Indian fans, but fans from around the world. Be it any sport, cricket or football or lawn tennis, passion remains the same, intensity remains the same.

Why do we often see players give their 200% for the team, get their bodies on the line for the team, this is because they play for their fans, those passionate fans which are behind them even when the team or player doesn’t play well. When Dhoni got runout in the 2019 Cricket World Cup, not only his fans cried, the whole nation cried. What I mean by cried is literally, they cried. That’s the emotion a game brings, a player brings into fans. People might find it crazy when someone who doesn’t have any connection with the team, no connection at all, still cries when his favourite teams loses, because of the emotional connection the fan has with that team. Sports has a huge fanbase and the fanbase is what makes sports a worth while thing to watch and play. Without fans, no sport is even worth playing. Players play for the very fact that their fans are watching them and they want to win for their fans, their country and make their fans as well as their whole nation feel proud.

In India, people don’t have that much craze for football, but ask those fans who watch the Indian Super League (ISL), they will tell you how much they pray for the fact that their team wins and how they feel when their team loses. Sports has a different feeling altogether, ask those who breathe sports, obviously metaphorically but that passion and emotion tells us all that. There are times when stakes ae high in a game, but your favourite teams plays pathetically bad, they lose without even giving a tough fight, that’s when the fans emotions play a very crucial role. Some fans are so angry after those performances that they make their team so weakened by claiming that they are bad and they don’t know how to play and stuff like that, but that isn’t what true fans do. True fans are those who are behind their teams even in situations when they are losing and not winning. That’s the time passion comes into play, when you as a fan are behind your team supporting them, be it any situation.

Yes, losses hurt, yes getting and cheering for the team when they are losing in an important game is very hard and difficult, but if you have that emotion and passion for the game, for your favourite team, then you will always be the 12th man for your team, be it on the ground or watching from home. The best example of it could be the game played yesterday between Manchester United and Chelsea in the FA Cup semifinal. Chelsea won the game emphatically by 3-1, and the team they beat were the favourites to win, on a 19-game unbeaten streak, but they lost, quite convincingly they were beaten. All over Manchester United fans were angry, they were frustrated and this is the time they have to be behind their team because when hard times comes, that’s when true supporters remain behind their teams. That’s the passion and emotion I was talking about, which sports brings out of people.

Here or There: Opportunities are Everywhere

                                                                                                  -SHUBHANKAR

Opportunities are everywhere, everytime and every moment, the thing is one just doesn’t need to identify them, but needs to grab them as quickly as possible before someone else does. That’s what the big billionaires of the world have done, not only before but in this deadly pandemic as well. When businesses all around the world have shutdown, many have filed in for bankruptcy, many have lost their jobs, but these people have used their mind or we can say the business mind so well that they made this moment of a deadly pandemic turn into a fruitful period of wealth and power.

The billionaires I’m talking about are Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, etc. They were the ones who’ve gained the most during these unprecedented times. Be it the historic space mission launched by Elon’s SpaceX company or the ever dominating Amazon company of Jeff Bezos, the richest man on the planet right now. Its not that they did it overnight. The hardwork and time they’ve put in to make their dreams realise is absolutely amazing. What this article would focus on is the full use of opportunities in life and that nothing in life can put you down on your knees forever if you have the right determination and passion. If not, this cruel world will keep you at your knees forever.

These were unprecedented times, hard times, losses would hit everyone, nobody’s business would survive, but people with determination and plan ‘B’ and ‘C’ did what they know best, never give up and take opportunities lashing at you with both hands. How about I telling you that Jeff Bezos’s wealth increased by a whooping $56.7 billion in the year 2020. Didn’t pandemic hit Amazon Company? It did, but he never was jaded away by it. The opportunity was that people wouldn’t venture out in these times with coronavirus taking its toll, so how would they buy things, be it grocery or other essential items. That’s when, people started using the benefits of online shopping. But, what about the delivery boys delivering those parcels, they could infect the customers unintentionally, of course. For that, came the concept of no touch delivery. Talking about opportunities, the amazon founder, didn’t just stop there over the past few years. He knew that to earn success in this dynamic world, changing within even seconds, you need to be a little bit diverse. He saw the opportunity in the online streaming industry, had very fierce competitors in the business, be it Hotstar or Netflix, but he was determined and brought in a new platform for online streaming, Amazon Prime Videos, and the gamble paid off. This is what I’m trying to say, the use of opportunity available in the whole market arena.

How about the opportunity seized by the Tesla CEO, Elon Musk. Knew the resources are getting depleted, knew that electronic cars will be the new normal in the future, invested in the project, formed Tesla and is earning in billions. How many of us knew about this resource depleting problem, I suppose almost all of us, but did we think like he did? No, we didn’t and that’s what is called opportunity missed. That’s what he didn’t do and that’s what I’m trying to say through my article. Why did he form SpaceX? He saw the opportunity in the field of astronomy and found out that it was one of his dreams, he pursued it, rather than just wasting the opportunity.

I want the young generation to understand that there is no time, when opportunities aren’t there. Opportunities are there, anytime, anywhere, but you need to grab it. Yes, I won’t say you will succeed everytime. You won’t. Failure will accompany you more than success does. But if you continue to be determined, be true to yourself and your goals, you would definitely achieve success. And for achieving those goals, the opportunity must be seized and taken.

BE SMART AND INNOVATE YOUR SELF TO THE FULLEST POWER

                                                                                                  -SHUBHANKAR

Well innovation is the need of the hour. But how to get the right innovative idea for the right product/service, is the most important question to answer. See, marketing a product or service is as important as say, giving a life to a product. Without proper marketing techniques, a product or service, be it very very good won’t succeed in a consumer-oriented market, which is in place nowadays. Consumer is the king of the market, whatever he/she demands needs to be provided, if not the consumers can shift from one seller to another in no time. So, now the question arises, how can one be innovative in a right way.

The answer to this question is the fact that marketers should be open to analysing the market in frequent intervals. What I mean by analysing the market is, the marketers need to know about what is the target market for their product or service, how will they manage to get their attention, what’s the best means of communication through which they can communicate about their product to the customer in a very effective way. Innovation comes to play in this area of work for the marketer. Marketer after making sure that he/she has selected the best medium of communication, has to now decide the innovative feature he/she can add to make the advertisement of the product or service stand out among the competitors in the market in the eyes of the consumers.

Now talking about innovation, innovative means are very different for any individual. Some marketers might innovate with the distribution strategy, put into perspective different schemes for their customers to increase sales, some might look for product innovation, creating a unique product for the consumers, which would let them earn higher profits in the future. What marketers can use is the psychological aspect. Psychological aspect in branding can be very well used through the use of colours.

Now let me explain you the use of colours in branding in a very effective way:

COLOURS        EMOTIONSBRAND (Using this in logo)
BlueStrength, TrustHP, Twitter
GreenPeaceful, HealthMonster
DiversifiedMixed FeelingsMicrosoft, eBay
YellowWarmth, ClarityBest Buy
RedBold, PowerExxon

Now, see this is one of the innovative ways through which various companies can design their logo’s in a very different and attractive way.

The 2nd innovative thing which a company can do is the use of innovative names. According to a survey, the company with the most innovative names in the 21st century is Apple Inc. and the 2nd position is taken by Alphabet company. And look at the performances of these companies, these are the top companies of the world, and one of the factors besides their unique and technology bounded products is the uniqueness of their names. Now, having said so much about marketing and stuff, what about the uniqueness in the advertising displayed through various communication modes.

The 3rd and the most important thing is the innovativeness shown in the advertisements. Advertisements are the one’s which show the product or service to the end consumers. So, if the advertisement is unique, so will the sales ultimately increase. One of the most important aspect in advertisement is the use of emotional aspect in advertisement. If the advertisement is emotionally appealing, them it has the most positive impact on the consumers. This is a kind of mind game which the marketer needs to play and sell his product.

EDUCATION v EXAMINATION- The Blame Game Needs to Stop

                                                                                                  -SHUBHANKAR

Is it the education system to be blamed or the examination system? The blame will go on and on. But who’s suffering? It’s the students and their careers. The student life in India mostly revolves around the number of marks or percentages they get in their exams, especially in their higher classes exams. But seeing the capability of a student on the basis of marks they receive or percentages they receive is right? I think its partially right and partially wrong. Exams are the way through which students understanding capability can be checked, but not their intelligence. According to me, there are many factors which influence one’s performance in exams. It clearly doesn’t mean that the person hasn’t studied and that’s why they didn’t perform well in the exams. Yes, obviously there are few students who don’t do well in exams because they themselves don’t study, but their ratio is very less.

What I want to focus on in this article is the fact that exams shouldn’t be the only criteria for which the students should be made ready. What if a person scoring 99% marks doesn’t know the basics but just through cramming got those marks. The education system should focus on skill development rather than cramming development. Look, yes exams are key and nobody should run away from them, but they can’t be the only criteria. Maybe a person would’ve been unwell before an exam and couldn’t perform well, or maybe due to any emergency, he/she wasn’t able to write the exams properly, that doesn’t mean they performed below par or aren’t good in studies. Situational causes are very much there when students write exams, but nothing of this sort is mentioned in the report cards, when provided to the students. Why don’t the educational institutes in India understands that students shouldn’t be pressurised to score well in exams and if they don’t, don’t provide them with opportunities.

We’ve seen many a times that major educational institutes like colleges and universities provide admissions to students while keeping a base percentage as one of the selection criteria. But what about those individuals or students having less percentage? Why can’t they sit for the selection process for admissions in these so-called big colleges or educational institutes. In my view great colleges or universities are those which can convert a below average student into a great student. Why colleges call themselves top colleges if they only want students with high percentages and marks, so that they don’t have to teach them very hard, just make them know the concept and they would understand easily. My point only is why not give all the students opportunity rather than fixing a percentage criteria? Is only percentage and marks that matter? I think that shouldn’t be, as I’ve explained earlier, percentages are affected by a multiplicity of causes, not just preparation and intelligence.

The thing I want to state is that education system in India needs a change, a change very quickly. Why can’t educational institutes evaluate or judge students on the basis of other criteria’s. It could be some kind of educational projects, live projects, which not only provides students with marks but also knowledge. Now let’s assume, students study a subject of marketing. Now, rather than taking their written or viva exam, tell students to build a project by giving them a live situation. Give them some product and tell them to use all their knowledge they gained from this subject to market that product. Isn’t it a great way to evaluate a student’s understanding of the concept.

Through this article in the end I want to urge the government to look at the education system in our country and change for the betterment of the students. No always are grades and marks based on written examination a true evaluation of a student’s capability. The future generations of India shouldn’t be deprived of quality education just because they don’t do well in their written examinations. Change is needed and its high time change is implemented.

#STAND FOR CHANGE

Women Empowerment

Women empowerment refers to making women powerful to make them capable of deciding for themselves. Women have suffered a lot through the years at the hands of men. In earlier centuries, they were treated as almost non-existent. As if all the rights belonged to men even something as basic as voting. As the times evolved, women realized their power. There on began the revolution for women empowerment. As women were not allowed to make decisions for them, women empowerment came in like a breath of fresh air. It made them aware of their rights and how they must make their own place in society rather than depending on a man. It recognized the fact that things cannot simply work in someone’s favor because of their gender. However, we still have a long way to go when we talk about the reasons why we need it.

Almost every country, no matter how progressive has a history of ill-treating women. In other words, women from all over the world have been rebellious to reach the status they have today. While the western countries are still making progress, third world countries like India still lack behind in Women Empowerment.

In India, women empowerment is needed more than ever. India is amongst the countries which are not safe for women. There are various reasons for this. Firstly, women in India are in danger of honor killings. Their family thinks its right to take their lives if they bring shame to the reputation of their legacy.

the education and freedom scenario is very regressive here. Women are not allowed to pursue higher education, they are married off early. The men are still dominating women in some regions like it’s the woman’s duty to work for him endlessly. They do not let them go out or have freedom of any kind.

In addition, domestic violence is a major problem in India. The men beat up their wife and abuse them as they think women are their property. More so, because women are afraid to speak up. Similarly, the women who do actually work get paid less than their male counterparts. It is downright unfair and sexist to pay someone less for the same work because of their gender. Thus, we see how women empowerment is the need of the hour. We need to empower these women to speak up for themselves and never be a victim of injustice.

There are various ways in how one can empower women. The individuals and government must both come together to make it happen. Education for girls must be made compulsory so that women can become illiterate to make a life for themselves.

Women must be given equal opportunities in every field, irrespective of gender. Moreover, they must also be given equal pay. We can empower women by abolishing child marriage. Various programs must be held where they can be taught skills to fend for themselves in case they face financial crisis.

Most importantly, the shame of divorce and abuse must be thrown out of the window. Many women stay in abusive relationships because of the fear of society. Parents must teach their daughters it is okay to come home divorced rather than in a coffin.

Our Common Goal: Let Nature Heal with Flow

                                                                                                  -SHUBHANKAR

Environment is healing, its healing fast. But has it really healed or is it just a myth revolving around? Well, in my opinion the deterioration of environment has happened so much over the past few decades that this healing isn’t enough. And as we all think we are healing, the fact is another new problem has emerged out. The problem of Medical waste concerns, the disposal of masks, etc. is the real big problem now. With the rising number of coronavirus cases in the world, the rise in the number of medical waste has raised a major problem in the whole world. People weren’t at all aware of what was going to hit the world in the start of the new decade, the pandemic which changed the whole world, and is still changing. With the rise in the masks and other medical waste and with people not aware about what to do with this waste, they dump it with the other wastes and then there’s whole lot of problems prevailing.

Now, let’s talk about the real situation prevailing in the world. People have taken nature and environment for granted. I meet people often wasting water and when I ask them why are you wasting water, around 98% of the people say that by them wasting water will not impact anybody. Well, they are in some ways right. It will not impact anybody, but themselves only in the near future and their future generations. Well, with the inhuman activities going on in the world, people don’t even think of their own generation, let alone the future one’s. Through this article, I want to make people aware of what could happen to them only, if they don’t respect and care for the nature and environment they are living in. See, the fact is that the nature is now what we say in sporting terms ‘on a roll’ and that too for many years now but the people weren’t able to see it or we can say ignored the fact. Be it the fire in Amazon Forest and the Australian Bush fires or floods and earthquakes whose frequency increased in the past few years. The below graph would actually help you understand the fact that how these natural disasters which aren’t natural for me, because I feel they are human disasters have increased over the years:

Look at the above graph, see how the disasters have risen from 2007 to 2020, this shows the plight people have faced from nature but it’s their own fault. But the people kept on ignoring it and now when the world is being hit by a pandemic, people are saying its nature healing. Well irony and irony, nothing else can be said. The pandemic is another major attack by mother nature on humans who have continued to destroy environment on and on. My question to the readers of this article is why don’t people know the importance of nature. Because of greed for money, we are destroying nature where we want to live. Don’t people understand playing with nature could result in devastation. According to a survey, in the year 2050, most of the coastal areas around the world would be submerged. Do we want this situation to ever arise? No, we don’t. So, why not protect nature rather than just destroying it.

Now, my opinion is that people should be told to not do things which they have become habitual of. This will be very difficult, but the governments need to implement these changes. The 1st thing is letting people know that wastage of water could result in devastation at a large scale. Building illegal or maybe legal swimming pools should be banned. Because people die because they don’t receive one single drop of water, families of many people die because they don’t receive one drop of water and here people are wasting water as if water will be available to them for their whole life. Mind you when nature strikes back and time changes, nobody knows it and nobody has ever known it. The next step is the less use of air conditioners in homes, offices and when its not necessary. People must be aware of the fact that air conditioners produce greenhouse gases which in turn is damaging the ozone layer resulting in devastation on earth.

I’ve seen people turning on their air conditioners even when they aren’t in their rooms and that is the worst one can do. Not only its contributing to the increase in greenhouse gases but also the wastage of electricity is done. I can’t understand why people want to use air conditioners. Didn’t our ancestors live without air conditioners? Okay I understand that time was different in the fact that earth’s temperature wasn’t that high, but why has the earth’s temperature increased? Its because of the rise in greenhouse gases. So, use of air conditioners is because we used air conditioners over and above how much we should’ve used. In the end I want to say that, yes, we’ve deteriorated the nature very much but still we have a little hope left. I would urge people to aware other people of how we can save nature, and also with the current situation learn how medical waste can be dumped and not let this pandemic emerge another problem of disposal of medical waste.

Cometh the Hour: Black Lives Matter is what has to Trend Far

                                                                                                  -SHUBHANKAR

Black lives matter, black lives matter and on and on these chants go, but why only now? Why not 40-50 years back or even 2-3 years back. Why people and society only wake up when some innocent person loses his/her life? Is it death of a person when we realise that he/she should be provided with justice? Why don’t we understand the suffering one faces when they lose their close one. Have we become so inhuman that we can’t even see one’s suffering, let alone feeling their suffering or pain. All lives matter, we know that. But oppression faced by the black people is which is alarming, not only for the past few years, but few decades for now.

The main reason the black lives matter movement has gained global impact is because of the death of George Floyd by a policeman in the United States of America. This gained widespread protests not only in the US but worldwide. The sporting community also joined hands and supported the moment as over the years many top footballers and cricketers have faced racism and still do. People should understand that nobody is born with a choice of choosing their skin colour, so why discriminate people on the basis of their skin colour. Why is it that people favour white skinned people in jobs, or in schools or elsewhere. Is it written in any religious scripture that people’s intelligence is determined by their skin colour. No, it isn’t but people’s stigmatised mind won’t change until real action is taken against them. Why don’t people understand that someone’s heart or nature should be good rather than their appearance or skin colour. But these talks are baseless because this movement of black lives matter didn’t start because of these talks, but because of the killing of an innocent man just because his skin colour was black. The below graph shows the percentage of black CEO’s in the Fortune 500:

The graph clearly shows the story, just 1% black CEO’s in the entire Fortune 500 companies. I don’t intend to ever say that give jobs or education based on any category, be it racism or on the basis of caste. I only say give jobs on the basis of skills, on the basis of knowledge. But don’t oppress a person who has the skills and knowledge just because he is black or from a lower caste.

Now, I will talk about the Indian society in particular and the racism prevailing in the country over the past very many decades. The Indian society is very stigmatised on the fact that white people are the one’s who are very good in all aspects and blacks need to be oppressed. But why this stigmatisation? Why do people don’t understand that skin colour isn’t everything. Every time we see in Indian newspapers, in the column of matrimonial we find people wanting grooms/brides with skin colour fair. But why? Don’t people understand how this can have a impact on the mind of people facing racism. This is the very fact that people nowadays are committing suicide because of problems like racism, etc.

And the problem doesn’t end here. Top celebrities in India endorse brands which encourage racism in a way by saying that by applying those products skin colour can be changed to a better skin colour. This is the worst impact as these celebrities have a huge fanbase. But my question is why? Is money so much more important than humanity that these so called celebrities endorse these brands. I mean a celebrity is a person who by his/her actions build a better society, not a society with racism.

In the end I want to state that people understand only when some innocent person dies but why people don’t understand losing someone is something which is worse than anything in this world. And losing someone over pitty things like racism, over skin colour killing someone, this is the worst thing one can do. Hope the world after this movement changes their thinking, and hope the world becomes a peaceful place to live again. SAY NO TO RACISM

What’s Going to Happen Next: Speculations and Rumours about MS Dhoni

The most successful captain, finisher and wicket keeper, all said, and very well said. MS Dhoni has been on the forefront of Indian cricket for quite sometime now. The legendary keeper batsman is one of the few captains to achieve such success at international level or let’s say he is the only one till now. What not the Indian legend has won, the 50 over world cup, T20 world cup as well as the Champions Trophy. He was the one who even took India to the number 1 ranking in the test format. But as the game goes on, so does the players form and their age. Mahi has turned 39 this year and many believe this might be the last year of his international career. And the rumours are getting stronger and stronger since Mahi hasn’t appeared in any international game since the 2019 World Cup semifinal game against the Kiwis.

Mahi was all set to return to playing competitive cricket as the IPL was scheduled from 29th March, 2020. But as is very well said, everything doesn’t go according to plan. That’s what happened in the case of Mahi, as his planned return to competitive cricket was stopped by the outbreak of coronavirus in the world. All sporting events from across disciplines have been cancelled and the IPL has been postponed till any further notice. Also, the coronavirus threat is looming upon the scheduled World T20, 2020 to be held in Australia which supposedly was going to be Mahi’s last world cup event in his illustrious career.

But with the sporting calendar most likely to be postponed for the rest of the year, future of India’s most successful captain is under scanner again. So, now we would analyse various aspects which would help us know if Mahi could be part of India’s world T20 squad if it is postponed for 1 year. Mahi hasn’t played competitive cricket for almost 1 year now. And his replacement still hasn’t been found in the Indian team. The Indian team gave chances to Rishab Pant but the young dasher from Delhi hasn’t performed up to the standard expected from him. But when KL Rahul was given the role of a keeper batsman in the team, the youngster from Karnataka has impressed one and all with his performances in India as well as overseas. So, if India go with youth over experience for the T20 World Cup, looking at the next 2023 World Cup to be held in India. So, below I would be listing the possible wicket keeping options for India ahead of the T20 World Cup:

The above fig. clearly points out the fact that India would be having around 4 wicket keeping choices to go with. Looking at the type of format, wicket keeper is an essential part of the team as he provides the balance needed to the team. As of now, the most likely to go for the world cup is KL Rahul but he can play in the team as a specialist batsman also. So, there is a three-way race for the remaining spot. The selectors now have to choose whom to go with, be it the experience of MS Dhoni or the youngster from Delhi. Dinesh Karthik comes into the picture only if he has a good IPL with KKR as he has helped India always with his batting as well as his wicket keeping skills. Remember the Nidhas trophy final, how can any Indian forget that innings. So, will the Indian management go for Dhoni or not?

Dhoni’s fitness level isn’t a question at all, the Indian legend is fit as ever and not even a youngster can challenge him at this moment in relation to his fitness. The concerning point is his form with the bat which has dipped a little bit over the years. But it can’t be the only factor dependent upon his selection. If Mahi performs extremely well in the IPL if it happens, then the doors are clearly open for him in the T20 World cup team. But the problem is if the IPL is cancelled this year and the T20 World Cup goes on as scheduled, will the Indian team management take the risk of including Mahi in the team as he hasn’t played professional cricket for over a year now. This is the question the team management has to answer and answer fast as the T20 World Cup is approaching.

No doubt that MS Dhoni is a legend of the game but has the time come that MS Dhoni bids farewell to the game or is cricket still left in him? This is the question everybody is waiting to get an answer and only MSD has the answer to all these questions but the speculations would continue on and on.

Child Labour

An innocent child, whose age is to enjoy the best days of his childhood, He/she should see big dreams about his/her future, should be learning new things and grow freely and play carefreely, should be going to school everyday. Is going to work everyday whose shoulders should be carrying a School bag but instead of carrying school bag carrying heavy burden of responsibility. That burden is spoiling his mental and physical health and opportunity to build a better future.

Child labours are exploited, exposed to hazardous work conditions and paid a pittance for their long hours of work. Child labour is very common in many developing countries due to severe poverty and poor schooling. High rate of child labour is still more than 50 percent in which children of 5 to 14 years are working in developing countries. Child lobour are cheap and easily available in developing countries, that’s why they are preferable which is an offence, under Child labour (prohibition and regulation) Act 1986.

The Constitution says that :- a) No child below the age of 14 shall be employed to work in any hazardous employment (Article 24) b) Childhood and youth are to be protected against exploitation and against moral and material abandonment (Article 39 (f)) c) The State shall endeavour to provide within a period of 10 year from the commencement of Constitution free and compulsory education for all children until they have completed the age of 14 years (Article 45)

Child labour is becoming a big social issue in India which should be resolved on regular basis. This is not only the responsibility of the government, but it also be reconciled by all the social organizations, bosses and guardians. This issue is for everyone which needs to be sorted out personally because it can be with any child of anybody.

‘The New Normal’

Lockdown In India: India has been in a complete lockdown system due to the global pandemic issue since March 2020. It was the only way of staying safe at our homes and maintaining social distancing. However, all essential services, essential commodities and medicines were available. Banks, ATMs, grocery shops, petrol pumps, hospitals were not included in the lockdown. The night curfew was initiated by the Government that no movement of people from 7pm to 7am shall take place except for essential items.

The global pandemic changed the daily lifestyles of people, the work scenarios, the Indian economy, the Entertainment Industry, and so on.

Nothing like this was expected that the world would be in such a dilemma. The entire world has been affected by the global pandemic issue. Be it the economy, the business and industry sectors, the health sectors, the agriculture and law sectors, small scale and large scale sectors, railways and metros, aviations, etc.

The poor and daily wages workers have been hit tremendously by this pandemic. They are the ones suffering a lot today. Even the unemployed are facing problems and a number of employees have lost their jobs already. The ones still working in their work spaces are constantly in fear of the safety of themselves and the others.

This pandemic has changed a lot of things over the past few months. Each and every person is suffering due to the sudden issue be it through mentally or financially.

Even after the complete lockdown system initiated by the Govt. of India for literally three months, the number of cases of covid-19 has been going on tremendously increasing day by day. There is no number of decrease in the cases till date.

The nation followed complete lockdown for more than two months except for essential items. Initially, the domestic flights were resumed from May 25th with guidelines that has to be followed for travelling. The Railways then decided to start to operate the Shramik Special trains from May 1st to transport the stranded migrant workers, students, pilgrims and tourists.

The centre then decided to start lifting few restrictions on things in lockdown as Unlock 1.0 phase from the 8th of June. The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi Ji however gave the authorities to the States and Union Territories to decide about what should be made opened and not in their respective states.

In the Unlock 1.0 phase malls, hotels and restaurants for takeaway and home delivery, and places of worship for the public were made opened. However, social distancing and proper safety measures had to be followed. The containment zones were in complete lockdown as earlier. People stepped out of the houses as soon as they heard about the Unlock 1.0 phase thus increasing the risk of themselves and others.

Amid the rise in the cases of the coronavirus after the Unlock 1.0 phase, the Government directed the State & Union Territories to ensure mandatory basis that no movement of people except for essential things would be allowed from 9pm to 5am throughout the whole nation. Indian Railways decided to operate 15 pairs of Special AC trains from 12th of May and 200 time-tabled trains from the 1st of June.

On July 1st, the nation entered into the Unlock 2.0 Phase with relaxations in night curfew, provision for more domestic flights and trains and clearance for more than five people in a shop. However, schools, colleges and other educational institutions are closed till July 31st. At present, offices are too opened with all the safety measures that has to be followed. Some offices still prefer work from home (wfh) for their safety. Works which can’t be done from wfh are resumed.

Shootings have also been resumed for daily soaps and TV Stars are practicing all the social distancing and are following safety measures while they are on the sets and all the reality shows would be getting back with new episodes from 13th of july.

Looking at the increasing number in the cases day by day, the nation would be entering in the Unlock 3.0 phase from July 31st.

The fact:

Currently, as we have entered unlock phases of lockdown people have accepted and are trying to make it a habit of wearing masks and scarfs before stepping out of their homes. Maintaining social distancing and using a hand sanitizer as and when required. All the precautions and safety measures have been followed by every person.

Markets have realised that masks are now an essentials things and also trendy and therefore, producing different brands and patterns of masks to the customers. This is an amazing business which is in actual demand and has already started making profits.

People are trying to accept ‘the new normal’ or you can say ‘the new usual.’ Earlier hand sanitizers were not in much demand the way it is now. Without masks, its impossible to think of going out right now today. And you think we have to follow this only for some months?

No, we have to follow and adapt this new normal not only till the number of cases gets reduced to ‘0’ which we all are hoping but also for some years for future prevention. It is true that we are not safe anymore. We can’t freely go out or hang out like earlier we used to do. We can’t do social gatherings or get together at some one’s home. We can’t chill with our friends or spend time with them at our homes. We can’t go to theatres for watching movies or go shopping with our friends. We can’t chill at the malls, or public places like earlier. This is the reality. We can’t touch anywhere or anyone without having the fear of risk right now or for few years till everything settles down completely.

I am just stating the facts. No one knows when exactly we all will be free and will be back to our normal life. Everyone is waiting for that one day when we hear the news that coronavirus (covid-19) is reduced and no more cases have been detected.

Hence, today looking at the current situation I do feel its not safe to step out of the houses without wearing our masks for coming years. This is the new normal that we have to abide by and just like we can’t leave our smartphones at homes, the same way we can’t leave our masks today before stepping out of our homes for anything.

Well, who imagined a world full of people wearing masks one day? But here we are today.

Masks are the new normal.
