Kindness Comes at a Cost

Naomi Shihab Nyeโ€™s poem โ€˜Kindnessโ€™ portrays the abstract feeling in a different light. We live our lives by being kind and by receiving kindness. But, is kindness all elegant, brighter and a beautiful emotion? Brighter the light is, the darker the shadow will be. In the same way, the journey to appreciate kindness is painful.

The first stanza of the poem starts by stating that unless we go through hardships, difficulties and excruciating pain, we can never feel kindness. We should feel our future melting away and dissolving like salt in a broth. We should feel every single block we had built falling apart one by one and should see things go crazy and beyond control. We should be wrecked and hopeless to feel and see kindness between the regions of dreary and forsaken landscape. When life feels needlessly long and dull, when everyone seems to be busy and no one really cares about what happens to us, the relief that rushes over by one extending hand causes kindness.ย ย

How you ride and ride

thinking the bus will never stop,

the passengers eating maize and chicken

will stare out the window forever.

To understand how valuable and serious the emotion of kindness is, we must see a man lying dead on the road. We must realise that such a death can occur to us too and we can also be abandoned like that man. We must see how the man was the same breathing living thing with plans and dreams before he could die.

You must see how this could be you,

how he too was someone

who journeyed through the night with plans

and the simple breath that kept him alive.

Just as the lines below say, we must wake up everyday heavy with sorrow and talk with it to understand what kindness really is. We should confront our sadness and separate each of its strings and weave it into a sorrowful clothing to see how big our sorrow really is.ย

Before you know kindness as the deepest thing inside,

you must know sorrow as the other deepest thing.ย

If we do so, then we will see only kindness in every little thing and every little action. It will be kindness which ties our shoes and gives us strength to step into the outside world and do our work. Even among the ocean of bodies and faces, we will spot kindness rising its head and calling to us, โ€œIt is I you have been looking forโ€ and following us everywhere โ€œlike a shadow or a friendโ€.

Then it is only kindness that makes sense anymore,
only kindness that ties your shoes
and sends you out into the day to gaze at bread,

These lines make us realize how we take kindness for granted most of the time. The kindness of the mother hidden in the packed lunch box, the kindness of the friend embedded in a lent pen, the kindness of a stranger who says โ€˜Have a beautiful dayโ€™ are slept on by us. Our mother might have lost her good sleep to pack lunch, our friend might have not even had a pen to lend or the stranger would have had a really bad morning. Thus kindness comes at a cost. When it comes, learn to appreciate it and give it back.ย ย

Cottage Industries

Cottage industries have an essential role to play in the economies of all Asian countries. These are known to constitute major manufacturing activities and create employment opportunities in the rural areas and are therefore are important for developing economies.

Cottage industries are generally small-scale industries which generally observed to be unorganized and labour intensive as the goods are not mass-produced like the ones from factories. These can be started with a low amount of capital as the goods are made in the houses of the makers using conventional methods of production. One of the reasons why the goods are not mass-produced in such industries is because these are rural-based and focus to meet the local need.

The most important advantage that a country gets out of cottage industries is the ability to create jobs. It not only provides employment options to numerous families throughout the year but gives give economic independence to women in rural areas who are a part of such industry.

How do cottage industries operate?

A cottage industry can produce anything like clothing items, arts, and handicrafts, shoe-making, handmade jewellery pieces, furnishings, home dรฉcor articles, etc. These can be established by the members of a family, group, or community and are likely to produce labour-intensive goods. The production mainly includes conventional methods like using traditional tools which require the use of hands. A cottage industry paves the way for various supporting services in trading and logistics. It connects the traders to the manufacturers which lead to the growth of rural economies. Hence, the cottage industry is usually categorized as a small-scale industry since in most cases, there is no mass production of goods.

Well-known cottage industries in India

India is well-known for various kinds of cottage industries like:

  • Handloom and Power loom
  • Milk-based industryย
  • Handicraft industry
  • Stone-cutting
  • Carpet makingย
  • Cotton weaving
  • Silk weaving
  • Leatherworks
  • Metalworks

ย

What are the challenges faced by cottage industries in India?

There several problems faced by the cottage industries in India such as the unavailability of modern equipment and technology. The magnificent craftsmanship and talent are not enough for the productivity of good but there is an urgent need for technology to get involved to enhance productivity in less time.

There is limited availability of raw materials as there is continuous competition with the industrial houses. This doesnโ€™t go well when a large company moves into the neighbourhood and begins to mass-produce the same goods at lower prices.ย

There is a lack of logistics and banking services to support such small-scale industries.

Skilled and hard-working labours have started to move to cities to work for bigger industrial houses which in turn results in less productivity.

Since cottage industries are not tech-driven, they are unable to invest in advertising on e-commerce and online platforms. With the growing online shopping culture, small-scale enterprises are unable to market their goods efficiently.

Conclusionย

The cottage industry is essential for the economic development of any locality, region, or country and needs the support of modern technology and proper machinery to produce exquisite artifacts and does not remain limited to only rural areas.

Once we put our trust, we follow it or itโ€™ll be our driving force. When we trust, it is believing totally no matter what.

World food safety day

World Food Safety Day (WFSD) celebrated on 7 June 2021 aims to draw attention and inspire action to help prevent, detect and manage foodborne risks, contributing to food security, human health, economic prosperity, agriculture, market access, tourism and sustainable development.

This yearโ€™s theme, โ€˜Safe food today for a healthy tomorrowโ€™, stresses that production and consumption of safe food has immediate and long-term benefits for people, the planet and the economy. Recognizing the systemic connections between the health of people, animals, plants, the environment and the economy will help us meet the needs of the future.

Recognizing the global burden of foodborne diseases, which affect individuals of all ages, in particular children under-5 and persons living in low-income countries, the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed in 2018 that every 7 June would be World Food Safety Day. In 2020, the World Health Assembly further passed a resolution to strengthen global efforts for food safety to reduce the burden of foodborne disease. WHO and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) jointly facilitate the observance of World Food Safety Day, in collaboration with Member States and other relevant organizations.

Food safety is a shared responsibility between governments, producers and consumers. Everyone has a role to play from farm to table to ensure the food we consume is safe and healthy. Through the World Food Safety Day, WHO works to mainstream food safety in the public agenda and reduce the burden of foodborne diseases globally. Food safety is everyone’s business.

Importance of Investing

In India, the working class is majorly divided in two sections.

First , are the one’s that believe in spending whatever they earn and enjoy the present at most.

The other group of people believes in saving a part of their income for the unforeseen circumstances and with a hope to fulfil future goals like buying a house, car or retirement planning.

Now the people who spend all of their earnings find themselves in a difficult spot at the time of any unforeseen circumstance and regrets not saving.

What about the group of people who save a major part of their earnings? Are they able to fulfil their goals? The answer is “NO”.

Here comes the role of inflation. Inflation is the rate at which price of commodities increases and value of money decreases. So, instead of just saving, we should start investing in order to fulfil our financial goals and be financially independent.

Saving is important but more important is that we invest because money will not grow unless we will invest more and more . Also one investing should be in different schemes as well as plans .ย

“If you do not make money while you sleep then you will have to earn till you die ” . These are the most true words said by some great expert . But it would be better if we practice the same in our daily lives .ย

Second earthquake in china

On Friday night, another strong, shallow earthquake shook an area of southwestern China near Myanmar, causing at least one death.

The two quakes were not related, Tytell said.

The US Geological Survey said that the magnitude 6.1 quake was centered 10 kilometers (6 miles) below the surface northwest of the city of Dali, a scenic area in Yunnan province.

Shallow quakes often cause more damage on the Earth’s surface, especially in populated areas.

The earthquake caused strong shaking around Dali but Chinese news reports showed relatively little damage.

The Yunnan seismological bureau said it received a report of one death and six injuries in the Dali area. It gave the magnitude of the quake as 6.4 and said it struck 8 kilometers (5 miles) below the surface.

The area experiences frequent seismic activity. In 2020, a magnitude 5 earthquake in Yunnan killed four people and injured 23, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.

China’s worst earthquake in recent years struck the mountainous western portion of Sichuan province to the north of Yunnan in 2008, killing nearly 90,000 people

IRON DOME THE SHIELD OF ISRAEL

IRON DOME PROTECTING ISRAEL LIKE WAKANDA-

Iron Dome is an effective, truck-towed, multi-mission mobile air defence system developed by Rafael Advanced Defence Systems. The system has been developed to counter very short-range rockets and 155mm artillery shell threats with ranges of up to 70km. It can be operated in all weather conditions including fog, dust storm, low clouds and rain.

The all-weather air defence system protects the population and critical assets and can be strategically placed to reduce collateral damage.ย Iron Domeย detects, analyses and intercepts a range of incoming threats, including C-RAM, precise guided missiles, cruise missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles and air-breathing threats.

The system has so far intercepted more than 2,500 incoming targets with a success rate of over 90%.

Selected by the Israel Defence Ministry, Iron Dome provides defence against short-range missiles and rockets which pose a threat to the civilian population of Israelโ€™s northern and southern border.

โ€œIn July 2010, the US House of Representatives approved $205m in funding to speed up the production and deployment of Iron Dome.โ€

The system was deployed by the Israeli Air Force (IAF) in March 2011.

In November 2012, Israel installed the fifth Iron Dome battery at Gush Dan in response to the rocket attacks on the Tel Aviv area. The Iron Dome air defence system is being used to intercept and shoot down hundreds of rockets from Gaza as the latest round of escalations between Israel and Palestine in May 2021 engulfed the region. The violent clashes saw Hamas launch a barrage of rockets targeting Tel Aviv in Israel in response to an alleged Israeli airstrike in Gaza. The death toll in the Gaza Strip as a result of the Israeli airstrikes stood at more than 60 people.

I-DOME is a mobile version of the system, which can be deployed on a single truck, while C-DOME is a naval version.

Iron Dome mobile air defence system background and development details

The firing of rockets by Hezbollah during 2006โ€™s Second Lebanon War led to the development of Iron Dome. Nearly 4,000 rockets, mostly of the short-range Katyusha type, were fired on Haifa and other northern regions of Israel.

About 44 Israeli civilians were killed in the attack and approximately 250,000 citizens were evacuated and relocated to other parts of Israel.

Between 2000 and 2008, more than 4,000 mortars and 4,000 rockets (mostly Qassams) were fired from Gaza into southern Israel. As the range of the Qassam has been expanded due to the introduction of 122mm Grad launchers, nearly one million southern Israelis came within the range.

To counter the rocket threats, the Israel Defence Ministry decided in February 2007 to develop a mobile air defence system.

The missile defence system was successfully tested in March 2009. The testing was carried out without physically intercepting a missile or rocket. In July 2009, during a defence ministry test, the system successfully intercepted a number of rockets.

A new battalion was established by the IAF in August 2009 to operate the Iron Dome system. Multiple rocket bombardments mimicking Qassams and Katyushas were intercepted successfully in a test carried out in January 2010.

The final testing of the Iron Dome was undertaken in July 2010. The system successfully determined and intercepted only incoming missile threats, while other missiles which were headed toward open fields were not intercepted.

Raytheon collaborated with Rafael for the commercialisation of the Iron Dome weapon system in the US in August 2011. Raytheon secured a $149m contract from Rafael for the supply of Tamir interceptor components used in the system, in September 2014. It was formed as a new joint venture between Raytheon and Rafael in August 2020 to establish an Iron Dome production facility in the US.

NEED FOR BIODIVERSITY CONSERVATION

Biodiversity is a significant element for the subsistence of life on earth. It maintains the ecological stability and assists the functioning of the ecosystem, which is necessary to provide support and regulation to the environment. Basically, Biodiversity is the variation among the living organisms, including plants, animals, fungi as well as bacteria from different sources including terrestrial, marine and desert ecosystems; it describes the richness and diversity of life on earth. The term biodiversity was coined in 1985, it includes both the natural as well as artificial ecosystems. Thus, it is of immense ecological and economic significance, biodiversity is an important feature of the planet and there will be no life without it. It provides us with necessary nourishment, fulfills our needs of housing, fuel, clothing, etc. and also help the nation to extract monetary benefits through tourist activities.

E11G - Awareness Campaign for Biodiversity - Home | Facebook

The research studies highlight that there are around 8.7 million species of plants and animals that are currently existing on the earth, however, we have been able to identify only 1.2 million species so far. It is an astonishing discovery that a number of species are found co-existing in a single ecosystem, it includes smallest creatures to the largest that can be seen through naked eyes. All these species work in a chain to ensure their survival, maintain the ecosystem and also provide certain benefits to the human begins.

However, the increasing human population and rapid rise in the consumption and other activities has disturbed and even destroyed the ecosystem. The pollution, climate changes, continuous changes in the consumption patters has threatened the ecological balance and also affected the biodiversity of the planet. It is predicted by the expert scientists and researchers that, with this pace, half of the species will go extinct with the next century and this is adversely affect the interrelation between the different creatures. Over the last years, Australis has witnessed the largest decline in the biodiversity of the continent. The worldโ€™s biodiversity is facing the threat and pressure of fragmentation and degradation, spread of invasive species, climate change, inappropriate fire regimes, etc. Therefore, it becomes necessary to conserve and preserve the biodiversity and protect the endangered species.

Biodiversity: Conservation of Biodiversity in India

The Biodiversity Conservation refers to the protection, preservation and management of the ecosystem and natural habits to ensure the health functioning. The basic aims of biodiversity conservation are to protect and preserve species diversity, to ensure the sustainable management of the species and to prevent the ecological imbalance. Given below is a list of some general steps that can be taken towards the conservation of the biodiversity and maintenance of the ecological balance:

  • Government Legislation

Government is the regulatory body of the nation and has the supreme power to control the activities that can be a threat to the biodiversity. Thus, the government should understand its responsibility and distribute its power with the other authorities to adopt measures to conserve the biodiversity. Also, the government can enforce lays and regulations to regulate the activities in a manner that is doesnโ€™t cause any harm to the environment.

For the same, several bills and action plans have been passed by the Parliament in India as well as the need for biodiversity conservation has been understood and the National Mission on Biodiversity and Human Well-Being has been set to bring the societyโ€™s attention to the biodiversity conservation. The efforts can be made in setting up the nature preserves, i.e., national parks to protect the regions and the organisms living there. It can be also economically beneficial by allowing the tourists to visit these areas and understand the ecosystems from nearby.

  • Reducing the amount of Invasive Species

Invasive species are sometimes introduced to an area on purpose, but also sometimes by accident. To limit the number of invasive species moved by accident planes, ships, and cargo must be thoroughly checked before it is offloaded in a new country. Additionally, people should not bring new species of animals or plants to an area without consulting ecologists knowledgeable on the region.

  • Habitat Restoration

The human lifestyle and their expansion activities have affected the area available for other living organisms on the earth. Thus, the improvement can be made by returning or retransformation of an area into its natural state. This means the plants and animals that have being naturally found and lived there, are provided back with their homes. This can be a great way to restore the harm done to the biodiversity and also help in reducing the further threat. These projects can be undertaking by government authorities or the local NGOs along with the assistance to the citizens.

  • Sustainability and Sustainable Development

The society should adopt the habit to consume naturally made eco-friendly products and avoid the usage of harmful chemically made products and goods. This will be beneficial for the biodiversity as well as ensure good health to the human begins. Thus, the individuals should promote the consumption of the eco-friendly products, so that it can support its production at a large scale. ย

Development and expansion are necessary; however, the present development should be planned in such a manner that it doesnโ€™t affect the future living standard, it is called sustainable development. The development done with keeping in mind the availability of sufficient resources for the future generation, is the best form of development.

Thus, it can be concluded that the need for Biodiversity Conservation is necessary and it can be done only through the collective efforts of every member of the society. It is not the sole responsibility of the government or governmental authorities and demands complete support and cooperation of the citizens of the nation.

The series subverts the heist genre by being told from the perspective of a woman, Tokyo (รšrsula Corberรณ), and having a strong Spanish identity, where emotional dynamics offset the perfect strategic crime.

Impact of Covid 19 on Environment

How does COVID-19 impact the environment?

COVID 19โ€™s impact on the environment has been mixed. Although the pandemic resulted in improved environmental conditions, there have been other negative effects, some of which are obvious, others less so.

In brief, the positive effects have been reduced GHG (greenhouse gas) emissions, improved water quality, reduced noise pollution, improved air quality and in some cases, wildlife restoration. Negative effects have been increased medical waste, haphazard disposal of PPE, increased municipal waste and reduced recycling efforts.

Whilst the world has agreed on an international inquiry into the origins, handling and response of the virus, of which the results are likely to be years away, many have reached the conclusion that the cause of the global pandemic is the result of human activity, such as deforestation, animal trades and increased urbanisation. Whilst advances in medicine have kept many epidemics managed, many speculated that it was only a matter of time before a global pandemic of this magnitude was to occur.

COVID-19 became one of the most widespread zoonoses, which led to 1,5 million deaths in less than one yearย

COVID-19 is the latest of several recent zoonotic diseases1 in humans and demonstrates how human health and nature are closely intertwined. Interaction with nature could expose humans to a range of animal diseases. In fact, about three to four new infectious diseases occur every year, most of which originate from wild animals. Over the past 30 years, approximately 60-70% of new human diseases have been of zoonotic origin. The growth of zoonotic disease outbreaks is a sign of a breakdown in the relationship between humans and nature and is likely to worsen.

The drastically increasing amount of domestic and medical waste is one of the key negative outcomes of COVID-19. Coronavirus waste became a new form of global pollution. The adopted quarantine, isolation, and social distancing led to a corresponding increase in the amount of solid household waste (15-25%) and a significant increase in the generation of medical waste in healthcare institutions (from 10 to 20 times).

From the beginning of 2020, a huge amount of disinfectants has been applied to roads, commercial, and residential areas to exterminate the COVID-19 virus. These disinfectants can kill non-targeted beneficial species and create ecological imbalance. Much of the disinfectants and antiseptics, such as hand soap which contains a high percentage of the hormone-disrupting pesticide Triclosan (TSC – Triclosan converts to dioxin, a highly toxic compound when exposed to sunlight), is naturally finding its way into our water systems.

COVID-19โ€™s increased waste also affected waste management (WM) systems. Reduced employment / workers reduced recycling efforts which further compounded challenges in the collection and disposal of general waste. Municipal budgets were weakened as a result of increased healthcare costs and implemented social security regulations. Several governments introduced limitations to the volume of recycling activities in order to reduce the risk of virus infection.

There have been so many more direct and indirect consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, of which will be realised in the months and even years to come, but what is evident even in the short-term, is the urgency for all us all to stand up and work out how we can play a part in protecting and rehabilitating the earthโ€™s biodiversity which is currently balancing on a knife-edge.

MENTAL HEALTH

Mental health is a state of well-being in which an individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community.Mental health refers to cognitive, behavioral, and emotional well-being. It is all about how people think, feel, and behave. People sometimes use the term โ€œmental healthโ€ to mean the absence of a mental disorder.
Mental health can affect daily living, relationships, and physical health.Conditions such as stress, depression, and anxiety can all affect mental health and disrupt a personโ€™s routine.Although the term mental health is in common use, many conditions that doctors recognize as psychological disorders have physical roots.
The WHO stress that mental health is โ€œmore than just the absence of mental disorders or disabilities.โ€ Peak mental health is about not only avoiding active conditions but also looking after ongoing wellness and happiness.Social and financial circumstances, biological factors, and lifestyle choices can all shape a personโ€™s mental health.
A large proportion of people with a mental health disorder have more than one condition at a time.It is important to note that good mental health depends on a delicate balance of factors and that several elements of life and the world at large can work together to contribute to disorders.A mental illness is a mental health condition that gets in the way of thinking, relating to others, and day-to-day function.
Mental and physical health are equally important components of overall health. Mental illness, especially depression, increases the risk for many types of physical health problems, particularly long-lasting conditions like stroke, type 2 diabetes, and heart disease.

Mental Health Concept. Chart with keywords and icons. The meeting at the white office table

Signs and symptoms of mental illness depend in part on the illness. Common symptoms include:
Feeling down for a while
Extreme swings in mood
Withdrawing from family, friends, or activities
Low energy or problems sleeping, often feeling angry, hostile, or violent
Feeling paranoid, hearing voices, or having hallucinations
Often thinking about death or suicide.

How to look after your mental health:
Talk about your feelings- Talk to your loved ones about your feelings so that you will be somewhat free from it.
Keep active-Regular exercise can boost your self-esteem and can help you concentrate, sleep, and feel better.
Eat well-Your brain needs a mix of nutrients in order to stay healthy
Drink sensibly- Some people drink to deal with fear or loneliness, but the effect is only temporary. It also affect our health
Keep in touch-Thereโ€™s nothing better than catching up with someone face to face, but thatโ€™s not always possible. You can also give them a call, drop them a note, or chat to them online instead. Keep the lines of communication open: itโ€™s good for you!
Do something youโ€™re good at- Do something which makes you feel happy so that your mental health will be good.
Accept who you are-Weโ€™re all different. Itโ€™s much healthier to accept that youโ€™re unique than to wish you were more like someone else.
Care for others- Caring for others is often an important part of keeping up relationships with people close to you.

USA looking for its 400 dead soldiers

The USA wants to find the remains of its soldiers who lost their lives in india during world war II. US and India together have started a huge program for the same. World war II was fought from 1939 to 1945 between Axis powers and allied powers. WW2 is considered to be the biggest war fought in human history and it’s considered that almost 720 million people died in WW2 which is 3% of the population of the world of that time. More Indians died in WW2 than Americans. The total of Indian civilian and military deaths is considered to be between 1.5 to 2.5 million whereas total deaths on the US side were around 418k.

The USA was primarily against Japan in WW2 because Japan was taking control over Indo-pacific very rapidly which became concerning for the US and Japan also attacked pearl harbour in which the US suffered many casualties. Japan took control of the Philippines and many other Asian countries. Japan planned to enter India from Myanmar. In ww2 china, Russia India US were on the same side with many other allies together fighting Japan Germany and Italy on the other side which is very different from today’s world order. Japan was also supporting subash Chandra bose and his ‘Azad hind fauj’. A most important aspect for the USA and Britain was to protect India from going into the control of the Japanese.

So US and UK soldiers fought many wars in northeast India against the Japanese. In March 1944 Japan launched operation U-Go against forces of the British empire in the northeast Indian regions of Manipur and Naga hills ( then administered as Assam). Battle of Imphal was one of the most important wars in the history of world war II. According to the US, many US soldiers died in India and 400 of them were not found. The US also said there are over 81,800 defence personnel of the US who are still unaccounted from the Vietnam war, the Korean war, the cold war and world war II. Recovery mission by the US has been conducted in India since 2008 in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Nagaland and Tripura. In 2016, a team of DPAA and the anthropological survey of India found some evidence of remains of US Army personnel. Recently the US Department of defence joins with the National Forensic Science University (NFSU) in search of 400 personnel missing since WW2.

which is better google meet or zoom?

Two of the most popular video communication tools for remote work and learning are Google Meet and Zoom. The two services are used by workplaces and classrooms around the world. both provide the ability to interact with other participants through video conferencing, enabling businesses and schools to conduct remote meetings and lessons through a variety of apps and devices. Google Meet and Zoom are both video conferencing services and they offer a lot of the same features. But one service may be better fit for your needs depending on the size of your team and what other applications you plan to use. When it comes purely to video conferencing features, zoom has a slight edge over Google Meet, offering a comprehensive assortment of options at various price points. Zoom’s most expensive plan provides support for the largest number of participants. That said, if you’re looking for a bigger collection of application to use in tandem with your video conferencing service, them Google Meet might be a better fit. The platform, formerly known as Google Hangouts Meet, comes bundled with other helpful Google services as a part of a Google Workspace subscription.

EXTRA FEATURES :

Zoom is a dedicated video conferencing service build by a company that is mainly focused on that platform. As such, Zoom is a little more comprehensive than Google Meet. Sure, Meet scores points thanks to its seamless integration with other Google apps, and the fact that it comes bundled with the host of other services, but if you’re really only looking for a video conferencing platform, those other apps won’t matter at all that much. Google Meet caps out at 250 participants and 24 hours, but Zoom can support up to 30 hours and has an option to add support for up yo 1,000 participants for an extra fee. Most teams won’t need the expanded support that Zoom provides but for some businesses, this ability could be the deciding factor. When it comes to general features, Meet and Zoom both offer many of the same basic functions, like call encryption, support for up to 720p HD video, and presentation models that allow for screen sharing to other participants. Google Meet has also made some big improvements over the lat few months by adding additional options that were initially only found on Zoom, like polls, a tiled gallery layout for larger calls, and video filters so you can change your background. both Zoom and Meet will let you split up calls into breakout rooms as well. You can go further with both video conferencing services by hosting a session with a whiteboard. Participants in Meet and Zoom can also raise their hands if they have to say something in the class or company meetings.

BOTTOM LINE :

Zoom offers support for the most amount of people and the longest meeting times, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s right option for everyone. Zoom’s edge over Meet has diminished greatly over the last few months as Google added a lot of new features. Still, if you just want a service purely for the video conferencing, then Zoom has a slight edge.

That said, if you want to use other Google services that come included with a Google Workspace subscription, then Meet will be more than good enough for your remote work or learning needs.

You can get Google Meet from the Google Workspace website, or sign up for Zoom at the Zoom website.

Water Sources Management

Major treats:

  • A weed is a plant considered undesirable in a particular situation, “a     plant in the wrong place”. Examples commonly are plants unwanted in human-controlled settings, such as farm fieldsgardenslawns, and parksTaxonomically, the term “weed” has no botanical significance,

In this recent years this river is overcrowded by the growth of weeds which cannot be destroyed easily .This weeds also served as a home to the mosquitoes which in turn invited the diseases in our home.

 Types of lake weeds

They are rooted in the bottom, but stems, foliage and flowers extend above the water surface like Cattail (Typha spp.), Besharam (Ipomea carnea), Common reed (Phragmites communis), American lotus (Nelumbo lutea), Water lily (Nymphaea odorata), Pickerel weed (Pontederia cordata), Arrowhead (Sagittaria spp.), Purple

Negative effects of weeds in water systems:

The plants cause tremendous loss of water from water bodies like lakes and dams through evapotranspiration. Aquatic weeds have been found to severely reduce the flow capacity of drainage and irrigation canals thereby reducing the availability of water to the farmer’s field.

A few examples of broadleaf weeds are clover, dandelion, and purslane. Some examples of grassy type weeds are nutsedge, pampas grass, and bermuda grass. Weeds can be further divided into annuals, biennials, and perennials.

 Sustainable methods:

         Chemicals:

Herbicide spray or granules that are applied to the water or area following specific instructions.

      Effective at targeting specific weeds

    Less labor intensive

DREDGING:

A machine that displaces (and depending on the type, can remove) sediment layers.

Moves the sediment thereby removing seeds, roots, and plants

   Removes a mucky bottom

   Can increase water depth

Deweeding Organization:

To save the river from being polluted and being harmed there are methods that can be followed

The de-weeding drive undertaken by the public works department (PWD) recently at the Uyyakondan canal in the city to prevent mosquito menace, has escalated the maintenance cost by 12% than last year, with officials attributing it to the rapid growth of water hyacinth and waste water being let into the canal.

To overcome such a situation the young volunteers can come front and organize a team to help to save the river from being lost off.

  • Garbage disposal:

River of garbage:

Trash can travel throughout the world’s rivers and oceans, accumulating on beaches and within gyres. … It is transported by rivers to the ocean, where it moves with the currents, and is often eaten by birds and fish, concentrating toxic chemicals in their tissues, and filling their stomachs, causing them to starve.

And also this river is now polluted by throwing garbage into it. This once again paves way for diseases and also affects the organisms that lives in it and fed with it.

The effects of illegal dumping:

A common method of illegal dumping is throwing garbage directly into a river or stream, this causes oceanic pollution and leads to the death of marine life. Waste that is dumped illegally often contains dangerous and toxic substances, which soak in all the oceanic oxygen.

โ€œPlastic can have a damaging impact on underwater life. Large pieces can trap animals but smaller pieces can be in advertently eaten. “Once digested, plastic can release toxic chemicals which are then passed through the food chain. These toxic chemicals, in high doses, could harm the health of wildlife.โ€

Sewage treatment:

NOWADAYS this river is flowing along with the garbage in it which makes it more badly and useless for this the people in my locality can come up in collecting funds and help in promoting and restoring it. And also they can associate a team to clean up the river in order to save our resource.

WHO IS RESPONSIBLE?

If no government agency has the responsibility or resources to clean up the banks of a stream or its littered streambed, then it is the responsibility of nongovernmental organizations and private citizens to do so. There are many opportunities for private citizens to participate in river and stream cleanups. For example, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency sponsors an “Adopt-a-Watershed” program. Many states have “green team” or “stream team” opportunities, such as Vermont’s Green-Up Day and Northern California’s Riverwat.

Volunteers who participate in stream cleanups often report a rewarding experience. In addition to providing an aesthetic and environmental benefit, cleanups reconnect citizens and the community to the waterways that have been a vital part of the nation’s history and culture.

Research has shown than people are more likely to behave in ways that preserve our waterways if they are clean in the first place. If a stream bank or shoreline already has litter, people are more likely to continue littering. Individuals can take the initiative by cleaning up streamside trash and by disposing of trash properly.

Success measured by Money or Mental Strength?

Is Success measured by money or mental strength?

Success can be said as the outcome of our efforts in simple terms. If a person is Successful he will be at a stage where he cannot replace such feeling. Many persons used to surf to become successful rather finding his/her   own way to become successful and now let me say it in brief.

  • To become successful first choose your passion or the field in which you wanted to be successful.
  • Then think of the ways to achieve it.
  • Now prioritize your works.
  • Time Management is one of the keys to become Successful.
  • Set your goal.
  • Work hard until you achieve it.
  • Overcome your fears, Obstacles and everything that stops you.
  • And Now the most important thing NEVER EVER GIVE UP

  Success measured by Money:

What is money for?

Money is the basic commodity that helps you to run a life. So each and everyone should remember that money is only to satisfy your needs not your feelings.Everytime when you are successful you will experience a sort of feeling that money cannot repay it. So if a person is Successful with his/her money he will not get the happiness of Success.

How hard is Success?

Success is tough no matter how you slice it. With so many people vying and competing in what many label as a zero-sum game, achieving any semblance of grand-scale success has become monumentally difficult. And it will only get harder as the years wear on.

why isn’t it easy?

Success is knowing what to do and actually doing it. Failure is knowing what to do and not doing it. Most of us actually know what to do but for some reason, fear perhaps or whatever, we just don’t do itWhat makes achieving success difficult? Answer: Achieving academic success is difficult for me because of a lack of self-discipline. I need to change my study habits to overcome my lack of self-discipline. Achieving academic success needs organization, time management, prioritization, concentration, and motivatio

  Success by Mental Strength:

If a person desires to be successful and goes to any extent for it he is a person of strong mental strength. Itโ€™s because only such person with mental strength will work for it and only such person explores its pleasure .Thus Money cannot replace your feelings and only Success is measured by mental strength.

To be a person of strong mental strength a person should be him/her self and must be concerned about his mind and soul because these keep you strong. Also yogaโ€™s, Meditation can be done to improve it.

Unlike others we must be unique in finding a way for our success. Most of the successful people say that Time Management is very important to become successful. Itโ€™s because when you manage your time you can improve yourself rather running behind the clock. The teenagers must also be energetic and active instead of being lazy. To become successful to must work and go for any positive extent to achieve it.

โ€œSuccess depends less on strength of Body than upon Mind and Characterโ€

The Epic Of Gilgamesh

Abridgement:

Literary history-Character Analysis-Two versions of this epic- Similarities between this epic and the bible-Symbols-Moral Themes-Contribution-Conclusion

Literary history:

The Epic of Gilgamesh ( is an epic poem from ancient Mesopotamia, regarded as the earliest surviving notable literature and the second oldest religious text, after the Pyramid Texts. The literary history of Gilgamesh begins with five Sumerian poems about Bilgamesh (Sumerian for “Gilgamesh”), king of Uruk, The first surviving version of this combined epic, is known as the “Old Babylonian” version dates to the 18th century BCE and is titled after its incipit, The later Standard Babylonian version compiled

Character Analysis:

The Major characters in this epic areโ€ฆ

  • Gilgamesh
  • Enkidu
  • Humbaba
  • shamath
  • Ishtar

GILGAMESH

King of Uruk, the strongest of men, Two-thirds god and one-third mortal, and the perfect example of all human virtues. He is A brave warrior, fair judge, ambitious builder

ENKIDU

Companion and friend of Gilgamesh. Hairy-bodied and muscular, Enkidu was raised by animals. Enkidu looks much like Gilgamesh and is almost his physical equal. He aspires to be Gilgameshโ€™s rival but instead becomes his soul mate. he gods punish Gilgamesh and Enkidu by giving Enkidu a slow, painful, inglorious death for killing the demon Humbaba and the Bull of Heaven.

HUMBABA

The fearsome demon who guards the Cedar Forest forbidden to mortals. He is the prime example of awesome natural power and danger. His mouth is fire, he roars like a flood, and he breathes death, much like an erupting volcano

ISHTAR

The goddess of love and fertility, as well as the goddess of war. Ishtar is frequently called the Queen of Heaven. Though she can be unpredictable at times, she is a nurturing mother figure, and other times she is spiteful and cruel. She is the patroness of Uruk, where she has a temple.

SHAMHAT

Shamhat   is a temple prostitute. By sleeping with Enkidu, she begins the process of bringing him into civilization.

UTNAPISHTIM,

Utnapishtim, also called the Distant One, is the only man to attain immortality. It was a gift from the gods in exchange for his obedience during the Great Flood. Although he’s old and wise, Utnapishtim is also demanding and impatient of Gilgamesh’s quest.

Two versions

From the diverse sources found, two main versions of the epic have been partially reconstructed: the Standard Babylonian version, or He who saw the deep, and the Old Babylonian version, or Surpassing all other kings.

Standard Babylonian version

The Standard Babylonian version has different opening words, or incipit, from the older version. The older version begins with the words “Surpassing all other kings”, while the Standard Babylonian version has “He who saw the deep” (“deep” referring to the mysteries of the information brought back by Gilgamesh from his meeting with Utnapishtim) about Ea, the fountain of wisdom. Gilgamesh was given knowledge of how to worship the gods, why death was ordained for human beings, what makes a good king, and how to live a good life. The story of Utnapishtim, the hero of the flood myth, can also be found in the Babylonian epic

Old Babylonian versions

This version of the epic, called in some fragments surpassing all other kings, is composed of tablets and fragments from diverse origins and states of conservation. It remains incomplete in its majority, with several tablets missing and big lacunae in those found. They are named after their current location or the place where they were found.

Similarities between this epic and the bible:

In this Epic, the gods create Enkidu, who runs wild with the animals in the open country, as a companion for Gilgamesh.  There are particularly interesting similarities between the Garden of Eden story in Genesis and the story of Enkiduโ€™s movement from nature to culture and civilization. In both stories, a woman is responsible for the transition of a man who had once eaten and drunk with the animals to a state of estrangement from nature. Once Enkidu is rejected by the animal world, the woman Shamhat gives him clothing and teaches him to drink beer and eat breadโ€”all technological developments that separate humans from animals.

Symbols:

Gilgamesh is rich in religious symbolism. Religious rituals in Mesopotamia involved sacrifices, festivals, sex, dream interpretation, and shamanic magic, all of which appear in the story. Enkidu’s hirsuteness symbolizes the natural, uncivilized state.

Moral themes:

The Epic of Gilgamesh has several moral themes, but the main theme is that love is a motivating force. Other moral themes in this epic are the inevitability of death and the danger of dealing with the gods. The love within the friendship of Enkidu and Gilgamesh inspires both of them to be better men in different ways

Fear, not grief, is the reason why Gilgamesh seeks immortality. Enkidu’s death thrusts Gilgamesh into the depths of despair but more importantly it forces him to acknowledge his own mortality.

Contribution:

Through his struggle to find meaning in life, Gilgamesh defied death and, in doing so, becomes the first epic hero in world literature. The grief of Gilgamesh, and the questions his friend’s death evoke, resonate with every human being who has wrestled with the meaning of life in the face of death

โ€œWhat you seek you shall never find. For when the Gods made man, they kept immortality to themselvesโ€. A penny for your thoughtsโ€ฆ.

36500 DAYS

I’d like to begin with a Chinese proverb. And the way this proverb goes like this: “It is better to light the candle than curse the darkness. “

And the reason why I said this is because it’s not obvious to us that we have become masters of cursing the darkness. We have become really good at cursing darkness.

What is our experience of being alive? We’ve had some good days , We’ve had some bad days. Some challenges, some good memories. Some things we would change, some things we wouldn’t change.

But , do you know that every day that you have in this earth , that you have been alive on this earth, this earth has been in motion. And everything, everything is in motion.

All this time there has been a motion, there has been a sequence of events taking shape, people coming onto this planet Earth, things coming onto this planet Earth, things leaving this planet Earth. I mean , it’s actually a drama that you can’t imagine that has been taking place.

And you have been alive! And you’ve looked at your problems. You’ve had a plan and whenever things do not go according to your plan , you had a problem!

And you’ve been alive all those days! How many days do you actually get to live? It’s a shocking reality. Even if you live for a hundred years, that’s only thirty six thousand, five hundred days.

I wish I were missing a zero. I am not. That’s all there is.

This is the time you get. You get those 36500 days only to get all the things right.

GLOBAL MINIMUM TAX

Base Erosion and Profit Shifting

Group of seven (G7) countries reached a consensus on increasing the global taxation on multinational giants. Global minimum tax will disincentivise multinational companies from tax base erosion and profit shifting (BEPS). BEPS are a set of techniques employed by private companies who have an international presence. It helps them to shift to low tax countries, otherwise called as tax havens, regardless of where they provide services. Tech giants like Amazon and Facebook are usually accused of engaging in BEPS. This leads to heavy losses specially for developing countries like India. Valuable revenue is lost and this affects directly affects development of a country.
Convention on BEPS is an initiative led by OECD and G20 countries. This will prevent private companies from exploiting the loopholes that exist in cross border taxation systems. BEPS convention will work alongside presently functional tax treaties but it will modify their application. It will provide a level playing field for domestic companies. It will also have a dispute resolution mechanism.
Like every law it will have a flip side as well. It will benefit many developing countries but will adversely affect low tax countries who were enjoying the benefits of a booming economy lead by investment. Many economies therefore oppose the convention. The lack of consensus thus stalls the progress of the convention. The organisation for Economic Cooperation and development (OECD) is engaged in negotiations with 140 countries on rules for taxing multinational digital services and eliminating tax base erosion. These long deliberations have not reached any conclusion.
Recent G7 meet is a ray of hope. Global minimum tax rate, decided at 15%, is a mechanism applicable to cross border profits. Governments would have the freedom to impose local corporate tax rate but if companies pay lower rates in a particular country, their home governments could โ€˜top-upโ€™ their taxes to the minimum rate, eliminating the advantage of shifting profits.
G7 countries have done their bit by agreeing to a minimum global corporate tax rate of at least 15% apart from the tax a company will pay to the country where they make sales. Now G20 meeting in July 2021 scheduled for Venice will have to show support to the proposal by G7. This will be the first step against tax base erosion. Although many countries will get the benefit from the agreement, there will be negative effect on low tax countries as they might bleed white. Ireland for example made huge profits from multinational companies. Hence Dublin resisted changes in tax rules in European Union. 15% global minimum tax which is decided by G7 is thought as too low according to many experts. Albeit it is a welcome first step. It promises a level playing field for businesses and a positive competition.

India and BEPS
India is an important player in BEPS project and has already amended few domestic laws to tackle the problems related to it. These laws include country-by-country reporting (CbCR), patent box tax regime, amendments to income tax rules amongst other such moves.ย India can reap the benefits of the convention if all the members adopt the the anti-abuse outcomes of BEPS. The recent developments make India sanguine about BEPS convention.

Types of Interviews

Before knowing the types of interviews we should know the definition of interview. The interview is a conversation between two people where one person will ask questions and the other person will answer.

There are 6 types of interview

1. Telephonic interview

In a telephonic interview, the person will call you by informing you prior about the timings, and the interview can last for about 10-15 minutes. He/ she will ask some basic questions and will explain the purpose of the job if they find you interesting. A telephonic interview is easy as it is like an open book test. During the telephonic interviews be aware of the basic questions and if you want you can write them on a piece of paper beforehand.

2. Informational interview

This interview is about learning more about a particular job or employer. This will help you to network and can add it to your contacts. If you gain more about this information you are ready for the interview to perform well.

3. Individual interview

This is the most common interview as it is held in the office. In this interview, the person will ask questions straight to your face and you are expected to answer them in a bold, calm, and crisp manner. Make sure you give genuine answers. And your body language will play an important role in this interview. This interview can range from 20-30 minutes. If the interview goes short try to deliver precise answers. On the other hand, if it goes fast you can answer many questions.

4. Group or Committee interview

This interview involves a group of panel members and they will ask questions one by one. This type of interview generally happens in college. This means each person will have a perspective and will find you to answer in different ways. Make sure you make strong eye contact and face them with a bold attitude. These interviews seem difficult but practicing it will help you to succeed.

5. Second interview

Some interview committee members will sometimes conduct a second round of interviews to select candidates. Once you complete your first round of interviews successfully you will get shortlisted for this second round of interviews. Your second round of interviews may be longer as it is the last process of selecting you and make sure you answer them in a polite manner.

6. Behavioural interview

This kind of interview will happen for the investigation department. Make sure you have prior experience and a strong resume so that your application will outstand and you will get selected for the interview. Be bold and answer the questions they ask as it will reflect your previous work experiences and how well you are prepared.

Trying to ace an interview and getting selected is not an easy task. You should have a good resume, past working experiences, and good communication skills. Practicing will make you successful. Don’t overestimate or underestimate your talent and skills. You are born with success. Love yourself and participate well and pass out with flying colors.

REMINISCING THOSE DAYS

School days have always had a special place in our hearts.

"Can we go back when we were young
And didn't care if we messed up?
We have forever so we got lost in each other
'Cause time wasn't catching, time wasn't catching us
Back when we were young
And didn't care if we messed up
We have forever so we got lost in each other
'Cause time wasn't catching, time wasn't catching us"
~~When we were young by Lost Kings~~

Though the process of going through it may have thrown us off track, the memories always makes us smile fondly whenever we think of it. The children of these days, the modern Gen Z or the zoomers, the ones who are born after 2000 the ones who have missed out a year or two due to this pandemic donโ€™t realize what they are missing out.

If you ask the millennials, the ones who are born roughly between 1980-1999, they would give you stories of them crossing seven seas and seven mountains to reach their schools, whereas the next generation conveniently reach by flying it seems. Being a Gen Z, these are the stories that we have grown up listening to.

But, does that mean that our school days has become lesser in quality somehow? Not at all, everybodyโ€™s school experience is different. The good old days of getting group punishments, stealing the chalk pieces from the teacherโ€™s table, fighting with the class monitor because they wrote the name of the โ€œTalkingโ€ in the board. At that time, that was the most terrible betrayal the class monitor could do to us, especially if they were our friend.

The longing to go to PT period and if it comes as a substitution for Mathematics period, the joy would know no bounds. The best news a student could hear is that the teacher is absent, but it might get crushed when science teacher takes over. The bee line we make to the ground, and come back covered in dirt, earning us scolding from our mothers. The way we wondered why to even polish the shoes when it was eventually going to get dirty.

The lunch period cannot be explained in words. There would be a studious group, ingesting the syllabus along with the food, the talkative group whose noise level would make the in-charge teacher wonder where the hell zoo animals came from, the touch up group which would spend the entire break in, well, touch up. The sports players, who eat less than a baby, would eat and run to the playground. A special mention to the group who treat all the periods as lunch period.

All these group would have one thing in common. Happiness. That, and the illegal sharing of Maggi, from the runt of the group. But there would be no hard feelings, because it was all very normal. Imagine sharing food from a single box now. Everyone would run hither-tither.

The morning assembly needs a special mention because that is the only place where we donโ€™t pay attention to what is happening in the stage and think of all the existential crisis we might be having. That would also be the only time we are totally clean. Nails neatly trimmed, neat two plaits for the girls, neatly combed hair for the boys, polished shoes, ID card check, etc. We all know the punishments for the defaulters by the PT Teacher.

We would all have the one late-comer who would come at the half of first period and save us from the morning โ€œstrictโ€ classes, because that is when teachers will be at the best and there would be no cutting slack. The class tests and exams are another level of creativity, not in writing the exam per se, but in communicating with our friends without the invigilator seeing. Even if we get caught, if the teacher acts like they see us, they would be our role model for the next month.

All this beautiful memories have sculptured us to what we are today and that is the major missing nowadays. Staring at the screen for hours together in the name of online classes would never even compare to what the real school experience was. As we donโ€™t know when the situation would be safe enough even for the tiny-tots to attend the school, all we can do is hope the days come by soon.

Digital divide in vaccination

The second wave of Covid-19 has unleashed carnage in many states of India. As of the end of May 2021, India registered nearly 25.2 million cases and 2,83,248 deaths. Infections first grew in urban areas and then spread to rural areas. This pattern was mapped in both, the first as well as the second wave.

India’s rural areas cover 66.5 percent of the country’s population. However, nearly 60 percent of hospitals, 80 percent of doctors, and 75 percent of medical facilities are situated in urban areas. This shows the lack of medical infrastructure in the rural areas. The cause for concern is the fact that surge in registered cases and infections did not see a parallel rise of vaccination in these rural regions. This will result in rapid spread of this virus, and lesser number of inoculations to prevent the spread.

Many factors have contributed towards this divide between rural and urban areas when it comes to vaccination. One of the most important one being digital divide. Here are some statistics to show the wide disparity between the 2 regions in issues pertaining to digital knowledge.

When India has 450 million smartphone users as of 2019, only 25percent of it’s rural citizens had a device. Only 4 percent of Indians in rural areas has access to computers. Internet connections were not prevalent in all regions, in fact, only 34 percent of Indians have one.

Hence, it is understandable to assume that many people in rural areas do now know or cannot access the digital portal systems like Co-WIN and Aarogya Setu, which helps citizens of this country book vaccination slots and complete the entire procedure online. The inoculation drive is being pushed backwards.

This platform favors internet-savvy urban population with access to the advanced technology, further excluding less aware rural people with lack of digital know-how, out of the safety net. Such a digital divide has forced digitally illiterate people to either visit registration centers or book vaccinations on the app with the help of some facilitator or be left out of the vaccination process.

The requirements of this app are a phone or a laptop to open the particular website which is not available with all. Even if they do have a digital device, many people do not have data packages to browse and book the slots. Hence there are many obstacles for rural people in the inoculation procedure.

Further, the portal requires uploading the identification proof. For certain people-street vendors; dwellers of urban slums, and remotely inaccessible areas; people engaged in begging and the like-identification proof is hard to come by even during normal times, where they struggle to avail benefits from the social protection schemes introduced by the government.ย  Also, a few months back, the portal only published all the information in English language without taking into account the people who did not know this language,.

Also, for the informal work force, where every day’s wage is important for providing food and resources to their family on a daily basis, taking a day off is very difficult. The entire procedure of vaccination for people having all the resources may be considered pretty simple. But for the poor households, this is not possible. They cannot afford to forgo a day’s wage in such times, and perhaps even more if they are responsible for the vaccination of all the family members.

The Supreme Court states that India’s vaccine policy was against the rights of the poor and marginalized. They considered the policy as extremely disproportionate and not in terms with societal realities. Such problems should be addressed so that no more lives are lost at the cost of digital disparity.

FOREIGN EXCHANGE MARKET

The market or a platform in which the national currencies of various countries are exchanged or converted for each other is called the foreign exchange market. This market covers various institutions such as banks, official government agencies, dealers in foreign exchange etc.

The foreign exchange market is bifurcated-Spot market and Forward market.

A spot market handles spot or current transactions in foreign exchange. The exchange rate is Spot rate. The transactions are affected by the prevailing rates at the point of time and delivery of foreign exchange is thus affected.

A market where the foreign exchange is bought and sold for future delivery is called forward market. It deals with foreign exchange transactions that are contracted today but are implemented in future. The exchange rate prevailing in this market is Forward rate.

REASONS FOR RISING DEMAND FOR FOREIGN EXCHANGE

  • In a situation of fall in foreign exchange rates, the imports from that foreign country becomes cheaper and thus, there will demand for higher imports. Hence the demand for that foreign currency increases.
  • The price fall in foreign exchange rate also implies foreign currency becomes cheaper than domestic currency and promotes tourism to that country. This increases demand for foreign currencies.

The situation is just opposite for falling demand for foreign currencies where imports become costly and thus its demand falls.

REASONS FOR RISING SUPPLY OF FOR FOREIGN EXCHANGE

  • In a situation of rise in foreign exchange rates, then the home country’s goods are cheaper to the foreign countries and thus, it increases the flow of foreign currency into home country by way of exports.
  • A rise in foreign exchange rates also attract foreigners to visit home country as the home country’s currency becomes cheaper. This also increases supply of foreign currencies.

The situation is just opposite for falling supply of foreign exchange as investment in goods and services become costly for foreigners.

DETERMINATION OF FOREIGN EXCHANGE RATE

The exchange rate is determined at that point where demand for foreign exchange equates supply of foreign exchange which is nothing but the equilibrium exchange rate of foreign currency.

In the diagram above, there are two currencies US dollars(foreign country) and Indian rupees (home country) taken in X- axis and Y-axis respectively.

In the diagram, the demand curve is downward sloping. The reason of demand curve being negatively sloped, any graph for that matter, is because in general demand for a commodity increases when there is a decrease in its price. Thus, demand and price of that commodity are inversely related to each other. However, supply curve is positively sloped because supply and price have a direct relationship. In the context of foreign exchange market, demand (DD) is negatively sloped which implies less foreign exchange is demanded when exchange rate rises. Supply (SS) is upward sloping which mans that supply of foreign exchange rises with increase in exchange rate.

In the diagram , both curves intersect at point E which is the equilibrium point. OR is the equilibrium rate and the equilibrium quantity is OQ.

There are changes in the exchange rate only when there are changes in demand and supply. Suppose, if there is an increase in the demand for US dollars in India, it shifts the demand curve from DD to D’D’. The demand will increase the exchange rate shifting it from OR to OR1. It represents depreciation of Indian currency in terms of US dollars.

Similarly, a rise in the supply of US dollars will cause supply curve to shift from SS to S’S’ and the exchange rate would also shift from OR to OR2. This leads to appreciation of Indian rupees in terms of US dollars.

This is the process by which the exchange rate between various currencies take place.

The importance of self awareness in oneโ€™s life

What is self awareness?

In layman terms, self awareness can be defined as ability to see oneโ€™s own self in a third person perspective

To be self-aware means to have knowledge of

  • how others perceive you
  • how you affect people around you
  • how and why you react to certain situations in certain ways

There are three major types of awareness that we as SELVES can have:

  1. Exteriorceptive Awareness
    1. Vision – the awareness of a visual field of view outside of our own bodies and all that we can recognize as either familiar or unfamiliar gestalten. Sight uses a projection area in the posterior brain where the interpretations of images are made.
    2. Hearing – the awareness of vibrations, words, noise, music and random sounds that come through our ears in recognizable or unrecognizable ways. Hearing has a computation apparatus as does sight .
    3. Smell – the most primitive awareness type that goes straight to the rhinencephalon without any projection area in between. It is the most precise of the senses in that a single smell of spices can make us feel like we are sitting in the kitchen while mommy puts these spices in the container on burning stove. Smell gives us the true sense of taste of food because taste is quite limited in the variety it can contemplate.
    4. Taste – taste only has 5 of all gustatory sensations…..Sweet, Salt, Sour, Bitter, Umami (a flavor which appears in meats)
    5. Touch – not only everything we touch with our fingers give us tactile awareness but also skin along with its derivatives is the largest organ of our body. Everything that impacts or grazes or rests against the skin must be sensed to be aware of our immediate surroundings.
  2. Interiorceptive Awareness:
    1. All thinking and contemplation
    2. All paranoid thoughts and anxiety
    3. All beliefs, in including Religion, faith, all the way to Atheism, are parts of mental awareness
    4. Subconscious drivers about which we have almost none awareness, have to be brought into awareness through psychotherapy or hypnotherapy.
    5. Fantasies/imaginations
    6. Imagined things regarding others or about a sensory input (like a creak in the floor boards is a ghost). Imagining is the most frequent thing our brain does and the problem with it is that we accept it for truth many times. Right now, I’m imagining that you wanted all this detail but that could just be my tendency to give as much information as possible.
  3. Proprioceptive Awareness
    1. The primary feelings are:
      1. Love
      2. Sadness
      3. Anger
      4. Fear
      5. Guilt
    2. All subdermal and physical pain is found in proprioceptive awareness.
    3. All pleasure is also a part of proprioceptive awareness.

Now these basic zones of awareness relates to SELF AWARENESS only and not to the larger awareness of the self in the contextual surroundings or how we perceive (theoretically imagine others) or correctly perceive physiognomic Isomorphism.

What self awareness is not and what is?

Self-awareness should not be confused with permanent enlightenment or a state of bliss (and similar terms suggestive of having an out of body experience on either ones or on constant basis).

Being self-aware is the result of intense observation and contemplation of both the self and the environment.

Sustaining the self-aware state while being aware of one’s environment is a necessity. A certain state of remoteness from both the state of self-awareness and the awareness of one’s environment is part of the training gone through by those wishing to learn self-awareness

Intuition in its truest is a congruent internal awareness in all three zones about a person or action in any environment. When People say, “Think about it!” But what it this really means is, “Fantasize and imagine what is happening.” When People say, “Trust your senses!!” which basically means, “Even if it is an optical illusion you should head toward that oasis.” also, when people say, “Trust your feelings!!!” But this means, “No matter how paranoid or delusional or untrusting or suspicious or jealous or hurt you are feeling that your feelings are 100% trustworthy.” But, trusting our feelings during a fight is something we rarely can do. Sense is awareness. But, INTUITION is the King of Self Awareness.

Is being self aware good

The deeper the understanding and comprehension, the higher the level of self awareness. Everyone can be at different stages at different ages and in different environments. As long as one keeps asking questions and searching for answers he/she will always move up levels. But being aware ,going up levels is not always a good thing.

Sometimes self awareness can bring about great sadness and dissatisfaction. The realization of our petty pleasures, our materialistic desires, our lonely existence, our hypocrisies, our illusory , our beliefs and all those things that one should not realize, contemplate, can be very dangerous and do not always lead to happy endings.

Ignorance is as necessary as self awareness but self awareness is more important than not being ignorant and unaware.

FORGIVENESS

Forgiveness doesn’t mean accepting mediocrity, accepting the other person’s mistake. That’s not forgiveness. You know what forgiveness is?

The day you decide to move on. That’s forgiveness. You’re not going to be victimized by this person’s actions, but you want to move on- no more struggle, no more fighting.

Forgiveness is the day you say, “No, I’m not going to have the struggle. I want to move on.” This is your strength. This is your real strength. And that’s the day you have forgiven. That’s the day you have forgiven.

China’s ‘strategy of encirclement’

China's Maritime Ambitions: a Sinister String of Pearls or a Benevolent Silk Road (or Both)?

The ‘strategy of encirclement’ is a political and military strategy using which a country can encompass its rival nation with the help of its military bases and friendly territories and isolate its rival nation during the time of war. The encirclement of India by China is said to be originated in 2004 when the ‘ string of pearls ‘ hypothesis emerged for the first time. Under the ‘string of pearls’ hypothesis, china has been building a network of Chinese military and commercial facilities in the Indian Ocean region and trying to improve its relation such that it can be used against India when needed. These facilities stretch from the ‘horn of Africa’ to ‘China’s mainland port’. Many analysts believe that string of pearls, belt and road initiative and debt-trap diplomacy together completes china’s ‘encirclement strategy’. But this strategy of china is only to trap India from all four sides, there are also other ways by which China is trying to counter India one of which is its ‘ three warfare strategy’. Many countries use ‘three warfare strategy’ except India.

China in east africa

The most important Chinese asset in east Africa is Djibouti where China has built a military support base. This base came into existence in 2017. Djibouti is a strategic piece of land located in bab- el-Mandeb, which separates the Gulf of Aden from the red sea and is also a crucial chokepoint that guards the Suez canal. Due to Somalia based piracy problem, other than China, the US France Japan also maintained their respective military base in Djibouti. Other than this there is no official Chinese base in eastern Africa but analyst suspects that China is taking benefit of the economic compulsion of the East African countries and by using its debt-trap diplomacy china is investing a large amount of money in infrastructure projects in East Africa. A report from the centre for strategic and international studies (CSIS) points out that China is involved in 46 seaports in Africa and there is a certainty that Beijing will use these investments in future to enhance its military and political reach.

The Chinese naval activities have been seen at least in 6 seaports in Africa. The most important port in the red sea is Sudan’s ‘port Sudan’ and Eritrea’s port Massawa which are being built by China and operation of port Sudan is in control of China. Other than this Kenya’s port Lamu and Mombasa, and Tanzania’s port dar-es-salaam, maruhubi and mtwara port are also included in this list of ports with increasing Chinese presence.

China in the Persian gulf

Middle East Weekly Roundup: November 16th-20th, 2015 - Journal of Middle Eastern Politics and Policy

The Strait of Hormuz located in the Persian Gulf is the next chokepoint of trade in the Indian ocean. In this area, Strategically located Oman is also been a nation accepting Chinese investment for a long time. It’s one of the examples here is ‘duqm port’ which earlier was a fishing village, now china is helping oman to make duqm port an industrial city and is planning to invest around $10 billion there. Other than this Yemen, China has signed several important deals in 2012 and 2013 which includes china national corporation for overseas economic cooperation (CCOEC), 3 natural gas-fired power plants and 2 container ports at Aden and Mokha worth $508 million. There is a major power in this region, Iran. After US sanctions on Iran, it has been in search of new economic partners in the region. Meanwhile, China has committed a 400 billion dollar investment in Iran in the next 25 years. It is believed that this deal will bring a positive push to China in middle east.

Role of Pakistan

Pakistan-China flags (File)

Pakistan is considered the biggest security threat to India as it has been a substantial exporter of terrorism in India. Pakistan’s relations with China has been rapidly transformed in the last few years due to its increasing distance from the USA. Pakistan’s most strategic and important point is the port of Gwadar who’s construction rights had been allotted to China for 40 years.

Gwadar port in Pakistan is located near the Indian invested port chabahar in Iran. Gwadar becomes more important because it acts as a crucial link between China’s ambitious belt and road initiative and the maritime silk route.

maritime silk road - INSIGHTSIAS

Under BRI, China Pakistan economic corridor (CPEC) will provide direct access to Gwadar port to China. CPEC is already resented by India since it passes through Pakistan occupied Kashmir (pok). On the other hand, China and Pakistan’s increasing and improving military ties are also a concern to India. SIPRI report underscores that China is Pakistan’s largest arms partner country. The arms import to Pakistan from China has increased from 58.42% in 2009-18 to 69.12% in 2014-18.

China’s influence in Maldives

India's loss in the Maldives is China's gain, and it is showing

The CSIS’s ‘Asia maritime transparency initiative’ report claims that China has also been active in the Maldives for year’s now. Most important here are China’s island development projects in feydhoo finothu, kunaavashi and hulhumalรฉ (which is located near Maldives capital ‘malรฉ’). The Maldives became a cause of concern when the Maldives went through a political crisis in 2018 because of pro china president Abdulla Yameen. But later India felt relieved when in 2019 Maldives elections Ibrahim Mohamed Salih returned to power and Maldives politics was stabalised.

China’s influence in Sri Lanka

China’s debt-trap policy seems most pronounced in Sri Lanka where China has taken over the Hambantota port on lease for 99 years. Recently Sri Lankan parliaments had also passed a controversial Colombo port city bill. This bill will increase the hold of China on Colombo port city. China has also been working on two-hybrid renewable energy plants at ‘nainativu’ and ‘analaitivu’ islands which are located near Indian territory.

China in Bangladesh

After an agreement with Bangladesh in 2017, Chinese companies have purchased three natural gas fields in the country. China would also help Bangladesh to lay down a 220 km pipeline for importing oil to the Chittagong refinery. Bangladesh also granted access to Chittagong and Mongla ports to china in 2019. The Chinese plan to help Bangladesh financially in erecting embarkment for management of the waters of the Teesta river is concerning for India.

But massiveย protestsย were heldย onย Friday inย Bangladeshย to mark the 32nd anniversary of Tiananmen Massacre in Beijing.ย Protestersย at Baitul Mukarram Mosque in Dhaka wear blue masks representing Uighur repression and human rights violations byย the Chineseย Communist Party. These protests can work as a downfall between the relation of both countries as China doesn’t like any nation criticising the human rights violations done by the chinese. The importance of these protests increases as they were held on a very sensitive occasion, on the anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre which is the deadliest massacre ever performed by a country on its citizens and China wants to remove every aspect of this massacre from the history.

China in Myanmar

COCO ISLANDS IN BAY OF BENGAL

Coco island in Myanmar is strategically most important for China. It is located in the Bay of Bengal around 300kms south of Myanmar. This can be a serious threat to india as gives china a door in the bay of Bengal. The most shocking thing here is ‘coco island’ was a gift from india to Myanmar. It acts as a Chinese electronic intelligence installation in Myanmar. PLA is also been building a military base on Alexandra channel in coco island north of Andaman islands. China has been using the islands since 1994 when Myanmar leased the islands to China. These islands are also very close to the ‘strait of malacca’ which act as a major choke point in the region. It’s an ideal location from where china can monitor India’s naval and missile launch facilities. The development of a deep water port kyaukpyu by China in 2020/has worried india the most. China’s veto in the UNSC on the recent military coup in Myanmar reflects China’s will to strengthen its relationship with Myanmar.

China’s influence in Nepal

China Nepal railway line

After all those areas China’s most important engagement is in Nepal. The pro china PM K.P Oli has encouraged Chinese investment to reduce dependency on India. The most important project is the strategic railway line which connects Tibet’s Lhasa to Nepal’s Kathmandu and further extends to Lumbini, which is very close to India Nepal border. Plus China has started construction of China Nepal friendship industrial park. Which is located in Nepal’s eastern Jhapa district. Recently there is a rumour on the streets of Nepal that K.P Oli( pm of Nepal) is a Chinese agent and he’s been honey-trapped by the Chinese. The brain behind these rumours is of the Chinese ambassador in Nepal. She guided the Chinese secret service to trap PM Oli. This shows the grip of China on Nepal. One of the examples of the hold of China on PM Oli is when china took several villages of Nepal under its control, PM Oli didn’t comment a word against China.ย

Tajikistan & wakhan corridor

According to the reports of the ‘Washington Post’, China has set up its second foreign military base 12kms off the Wakhan corridor in the north of India. Wakhan corridor is located on the trijunction of India china and Afghanistan. Currently, it’s connected to pok which is illegally occupied by Pakistan. India’s only foreign military is located at Farkhor in Tajikistan which makes the Chinese base more concerning for India.

India’s counter encirclement

India’s necklace of diamond strategy has been in the news recently. For its success, some Indian ports are important. First of them is the Changi Naval Base of Singapore. Indian navy does have access to this naval base of Singapore since the 2018 agreement which it uses for refuelling. Indonesia has granted access to Sabang port to India for military purposes in 2018. These ports can help in countering Chinese assets in Myanmar. India is also improving its relations with Myanmar and is developing Sittwe port in Myanmar. Indias access to the Duqm port in Oman can be proved crucial go countering Chinese ports located at Persian gulf, the horn of Africa and Pakistan. Indian got access to its Indian air force and the Indian navy here in 2018. Chabahar port of Iran is also being developed by India, but its benefit to India is debatable because of changing political equations. India already has military access to Seychelles and assumption islands in eastern Africa and also operate a coastal surveillance radar system here. It can be used to counter china if in case it gets a military base with a dual facility in east Africa. Other than this India has taken many steps in economic fields like increasing engagement with QUAD. In 2016 the Japanese PM Shinzo Abe has launched an ” expanded partnership for quality infrastructure” ( EPQI) which was supposed to counter China’s belt and road initiative. India has convinced Japan for the Asia Africa growth corridor (AAGC) in 2017 as an alternative to the china maritime Silkroad. With the existence of the USA, Japan, Australia led blue dot network (BDN), EPQI can become a massive project. To counter China’s ambitions against India’s encirclement strategy, india needs to expand its counter encirclement policy rapidly.

Pollution in India

Pollution is the largest environmental cause of disease and premature death. Pollution of air, land, and water cause more than 9 million premature deaths (16% of all deaths worldwide). Thatโ€™s three times more deaths than from AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria combined and 15 times more than from all wars and other forms of violence. Global health crises, such as the current COVID-19 pandemic further highlight the need for continued action in addressing environmental pollution. Ongoing research is finding close links between air pollution and incidence of illness and death due to COVID-19.
It is critical to address pollution because of its unacceptable toll on health and human capital, as well as associated GDP losses. Pollution management offers no-regrets options that can alleviate poverty, boost shared prosperity, and address the vital demands of millions of people for healthier and more productive lives. In addition, pollution management can enhance competitiveness, for example, through job creation, better energy efficiency, improved transport, and sustainable urban and rural development. Pollution management can also make substantial contributions to climate change mitigation through actions, such as reduction of black carbon emissions, which contribute to both air pollution and global warming.
Industrialization and urbanization have intensified environmental health risks and pollution, especially in developing countries. Air pollution, lead poisoning, inadequate water supply, sanitation and hygiene, and hazardous wastes cause debilitating and fatal illnesses, create harmful living conditions, and destroy ecosystems. Pollution stunts economic growth and exacerbates poverty and inequality in both urban and rural areas. Poor people, who cannot afford to protect themselves from the negative impacts of pollution, end up suffering the most.

INDIA BORDERS ARE AT ANXIETY

In India there are many beautiful places and there are many different people, languages, culture etcโ€ฆ Near India there are China and Pakistan who are willing to capture some main part of the India but they cannot capture. India is giving tough fight for both the countries even though they are becoming stronger and stronger. In the before time also Pakistan is waiting eagerly to capture Jammu and Kashmir in India but the military in India is giving a tough fight to them. In Pakistan there are some terrorist who attacked the small villages near the Jammu and Kashmir and some peoples died and some have injured. Pakistan is attacking always in the borders of India and Pakistan. There was big attack it is called as Pulwama attack on 14thfeburary 2019 morning 5:30 am 40 soldiers were died at a time plus one bomber this had happened at Lethapora (near Awantipora) in the Pulwama district of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir. The whole country was in tears that day it was a terrific death because while they were sleeping in car and some places surrounded by them they kept the bomb. India knew it is made by Pakistan government took actions even though it not coming to an end. So the Indian government took action that there working under the ground as a tunnel to safeguard the people from the bomb blast they are planning to construct 14,460 but where the Pakistan is attacking much there they are constructing extra 4,000 tunnels in that 7,923 were constructed in that some tunnels only one person can hide and in other many people can hide under the tunnels during attack. In Ladakh border china has kept their soldiers ready to attack India they have made tents and staying. As Ladakh is near Himalayas it is a cooling place so many soldiers of their country could not bear the cold so many have fallen so they are changing soldiers as a routine process. Before itself they were keeping their force to attack so India to kept the soldiers as much as china kept the forces the afterwards both the chief commander talked not to make war. There was no satisfaction in both the side so it continued to ten times and both were agreed to return from the place, but china didnโ€™t so India blocked 10 apps from the play store to India and they stopped import and export from their country. China is asking help from other countries and it is making all the neighbouring countries like Pakistan and Srilanka to attack all around problem was there for India but it was all solved china is again going to start the attack. India military and chief all are seeing the movements of the china and they are also getting ready. Even though India has done so much to china they are not getting back why if china fights, we should also fight there is any rule can we change as the father of our nation did being quite. We can fight in words not in action and bomb blast because of that many people are died so we can do by this method to win the battle. War and all things many people are died and many have lost their lives so letโ€™s not be fight and be friendly with others.

Water Sources Management

Major treats:

  • A weedย is aย plantย considered undesirable in a particular situation, “a ย ย ย ย plant in the wrong place”. Examples commonly are plants unwanted in human-controlled settings, such asย farm fields,ย gardens,ย lawns, andย parks.ย Taxonomically, the term “weed” has no botanical significance,

In this recent years this river is overcrowded by the growth of weeds which cannot be destroyed easily .This weeds also served as a home to the mosquitoes which in turn invited the diseases in our home.

Types of lake weeds

They are rooted in the bottom, but stems, foliage and flowers extend above theย waterย surface like Cattail (Typha spp.), Besharam (Ipomea carnea), Common reed (Phragmites communis), American lotus (Nelumbo lutea),ย Waterย lily (Nymphaea odorata), Pickerelย weedย (Pontederia cordata), Arrowhead (Sagittaria spp.), Purple

Negativeย effects of weedsย in water systems:

The plants cause tremendous loss of water from water bodies like lakes and dams through evapotranspiration. Aquaticย weedsย have been found to severely reduce the flow capacity of drainage and irrigation canals thereby reducing the availability of water to the farmer’s field.

A few examples of broadleaf weeds are clover,ย dandelion, and purslane. Some examples of grassy type weeds are nutsedge, pampas grass, and bermuda grass. Weeds can be further divided into annuals, biennials, and perennials.

ย Sustainable methods:

Chemicals:

Herbicide spray or granules that are applied to the water or area following specific instructions.

Effective at targeting specific weeds

Less labor intensive

ย

Trashย can travel throughout the world’sย riversย and oceans, accumulating on beaches and within gyres. … It is transported byย riversย to the ocean, where it moves with the currents, and is often eaten by birds and fish, concentrating toxic chemicals in their tissues, and filling their stomachs, causing them to starve.

And also this river is now polluted by throwing garbage into it. This once again paves way for diseases and also affects the organisms that lives in it and fed with it.

The effects of illegal dumping:

A common method of illegal dumping is throwing garbage directly into a river or stream, this causes oceanicย pollutionย and leads to the death of marine life. Waste that is dumped illegally often contains dangerous and toxic substances, which soak in all the oceanic oxygen.

โ€œPlastic canย have a damaging impact on underwater life. Large piecesย canย trap animals but smaller piecesย canย be in advertently eaten. “Once digested,ย plastic canย release toxic chemicals which are then passed through the food chain. These toxic chemicals, in high doses,ย couldย harm the health of wildlife.โ€

Many persons used to surf to become successful rather finding his/herย ย  own way to become successful and now let me say it in brief.

ย

Success measured by Money:

What is money for?

Money is the basic commodity that helps you to run a life. So each and everyone should remember that money is only to satisfy your needs not your feelings.Everytime when you are successful you will experience a sort of feeling that money cannot repay it. So if a person is Successful with his/her money he will not get the happiness of Success.

How hard is Success?

Successย isย toughย no matter how you slice it. With so many people vying and competing in what many label as a zero-sum game, achieving any semblance of grand-scaleย successย has become monumentallyย difficult. And it will only get harder as the years wear on.

why isn’t it easy?

Successย is knowing what to do and actually doing it. Failure is knowing what to do and not doing it. Most of us actually know what to do but for some reason, fear perhaps or whatever, we just don’t do it

What makes achieving success difficult?
Answer:ย Achievingย academicย successย isย difficultย for me because of a lack of self-discipline. I need to change my study habits to overcome my lack of self-discipline.ย Achievingย academicย successย needs organization, time management, prioritization, concentration, and motivatio

ย  Success by Mental Strength:

  • Gilgamesh
  • Enkidu
  • Humbaba
  • shamath
  • Ishtar

ย

GILGAMESH

King of Uruk, the strongest of men, Two-thirds god and one-third mortal, and the perfect example of all human virtues. He is A brave warrior, fair judge, ambitious builder

ย

SHAMHAT

Shamhatย ย  is a temple prostitute.

In this Epic, the gods create Enkidu, who runs wild with the animals in the open country, as a companion for Gilgamesh.ย  There are particularly interesting similarities between the Garden of Eden story in Genesis and the story of Enkiduโ€™s movement from nature to culture and civilization.

ย โ€œWhat you seek you shall never find. For when the Gods made man, they kept immortality to themselvesโ€. A penny for your thoughtsโ€ฆ.

Time management

Time management helps youbpertoizee your tasks as that you ensure you have enough time available to complete every project .the quality of your work increase when your not rushing to complete ahead of a fast approaching deadline one of the biggest advantage of time management is that it allow us to more efficient by being in control of how we spent our time .we can focus better on important tasks and better focus leads to better efficiency .effective time management allow student to complete more or less time and they are not wasting tine on distraction such as social media

Time is gold .once waste it cannot be back .use our time in useful way .

GLOBAL WARMING

Global warming refers to the gradual rise in the overall temperature of the atmosphere of the Earth. There are various activities taking place which have been increasing the temperature gradually. Global warming is melting our ice glaciers rapidly. This is extremely harmful to the earth as well as humans.

Global warming has become a grave problem which needs undivided attention. It is not happening because of a single cause but several causes. These causes are both natural as well as manmade. The natural causes include the release of greenhouses gases which are not able to escape from earth, causing the temperature to increase.

After that, the excessive use of automobiles and fossil fuels results in increased levels of carbon dioxide. In addition, activities like mining and cattle rearing are very harmful to the environment . One of the most common issues that are taking place rapidly is Deforestationย

The average temperature is constantly risingย by 1.5 degrees Celsius for the last few years .Glaciers have been melting, many countries have started water shortage, flooding, erosion and all this is because of global warming

The warning bells are tolling to awaken us from the deep slumber of complacency we have slipped into. Humans can fight against nature and it is high time we acknowledged that. With all our scientific progress and technological inventions, fighting off the negative effects of global warming is implausible. We have to remember that we do not inherit the earth from our ancestors but borrow it from our future generation and the responsibility lies on our shoulders to bequeath them a healthy planet for life to exist.ย

Child Marriage

Marriage is the most blessed part of our life. It connects not just two people but also two families. The blissful marriage considered to be one of the most successful events for Indians. Many parts of the country have forgot the real value of marriage. They have manipulated it their way and do their sins by ruining two immature personโ€™s life who doesnโ€™t even know the meaning of Marriage. Child marriage is a crime according to Indian Government. The minimum age decided by the Government for a boy is 21 years and for a girl is 18 years. Even the government is try to do amendment in this law by increasing the minimum age of girl child to be 21 years.
In some parts of the country, It becomes a tradition to do early marriage even before they become an adult. Marriage is not just a word, It is a responsibility which can be fulfilled by two individuals if they know their duties and aware with the benefits and consequences comes with it. Several cases daily used to be reported by the police mostly in rural areas. If a girl is born in their houses, they treat her like a burden and wants to get rid of her as soon as possible. Main reason of child marriage is illiteracy and narrow minded thinking. India is a developing country, It will take many years for India to reach the position where the child marriage and tradition of dowry get fully demolished.
Marriage is a part of our life not an ultimate goal which needs to be fulfilled at any cost. If our children gets proper facilities and an environment to become what they want then there is not limit to reach new heights. Child marriage have been discarded by major section of our society by implementing strict laws and spread awareness about the impacts of heavy responsibilities in early age . It will take more efforts and strict laws to fully discard it and adapt the new laws. In the mean time, Government has introduced several campaigns like โ€œBeti Bachao, Beti Padhaoโ€ and many more which have actually helped parents to think about the future of their children rather than about marriage.
To be independent and stand strong in the competitive world everybody needs to prepare themselves for upcoming challenges and tackling all the problems with grace and pride. Education here plays quite an important role which will help us spreading awareness and putting light on backward tradition which have been followed by our society since very long time. Now , The time has come to move forward and look for brighter future despite looking in backward direction and regretting all the decision we have taken. Child marriage is a crime and Every human being who encourages it should get punished.

Justice tempered with mercy or law.

Justice should be tempered with both mercy and justice, because the offender may have a harsher punishment for small mistakes. But this can be overcome by mercy. For some mistakes like harassing and abusing women should be punished through law. Because all should respect women and give them. They are also human beings, so for such crime justice should be tempered with law. But for most crimes we can give justice through mercy.

We all know Kiran Bedi the Honourable Lieutenant governor of Puducherry and also a retired IPS officer advised the criminals and take care of them. She showed mercy to stop crimes. While justice be done, the punishment has to softened by kindness. When justice is tempered with mercy it can make good public policy. Any justice is untouched by spark of humanity or mercy is savage as justice is not tempered with mercy. Some people know that they are going to do mistake which is against the law. For such people justice should be tempered with law. For example: many people started bribing, they know it is a against the law but they do it because of greediness. This should be overcome by law. So, at last both mercy and law should be there for justice.

Power of Money

Every human being have their basic needs i.e., Food, Shelter and clothes are considered to be top needs among others. Money plays an important role in fulfilling all our needs and wants. The motivation people get to work daily hard is to earn more and more money. Their dedication and passion for their work comes more naturally when they get paid right amount of money for their money. Money plays an important role for us to survive in this planet. Life of an individual is to born, survive, holds responsibility and fullfill their duties, retirement and ultimately death. Materialistic items have started giving us more pleasure and entitlement.
Money can actually buy every item that you want be it comfortable bed, luxurious car, air conditioner, house or anything. The superiority of money has reached to next level where everyone runs after money. If a person is rich, they donโ€™t need to stand in a queue to get their work done. Every one starts respecting you if you have money. Just like our earth, Life is also circled in between money and power. The world is fighting very hard to survive in these tough times to overcome from the pandemic situation, Most of the people are losing their humanity and selling oxygen cylinders or necessary medical equipments at very high cost. It is the time to stand united and work towards helping each other and fighting the virus, not to earn money by putting our countryโ€™s people in danger. The result of our sins are very heavy which no individual can handle it alone.
The people who are most affected are middle class and poor people who are not even able to afford proper food for their families. In this critical situation, Every person who have money and can help others should come forward and perform their duties as a citizen of India. It is true that Money can buy everything but It canโ€™t give you back a life of your loved ones from the heaven.
Situations like COVID-19 have realized us the value of life, money and time. Being a good person who can help the community in any way possible is enough. Money is important but don’t make it everything for that you have to lose your identity, integrity and respect.

Female emancipation a necessity or a curse of the society.

Female emancipation is a necessity thing. Because when women are emancipation everybody in the society will respect women. In olden days women are not much respected but nowadays some people are respecting women for their knowledge and talent. female emancipation is not so improved, nowadays also we can see how women are abused dominated by male.

Even though women are educated they are not much respected. This is because heir right is not fulfilled. In every occupation woman are working there, this is due to female emancipation. Many people worked hard for the equality of woman, the famous known persons are Bharathiyar and Periyar. They struggled for the equality of women. In every home all females are educated and they are working in every fields. This is due to female emancipation.

Success measured by money or mental strength

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  Success is measured by mental strength, because life may contain many struggles. To handle it we must have mental strength. A person who are having mental strength will definitely succeed in life, mental strength means controlling our emotions and thoughts and work with them to choose actions. It looks difficult to control our emotions and thoughts but without struggle we could not succeed in life. It keeps motivated in goals.

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย When we are mentally strong we could control our negative thoughts which are against our goal and work on it to achieve their goal. But when they are in a half- way to achieve their goal, their negative thoughts will stop them to achieve. Mental strength will help us to overcome negativity. It helps us to be a courageous person. Many achievers succeed their goal is due to mental strength. A real talented person will succeed only through mental strength. Stephen Hawking is the best example, like even though he is a paralysed person he didnโ€™t stop his journey for his disease. He had overcome from that negativity and became one of the scientists in the world. He succeeded in his life due to mental strength to succeed in their life.

“IMPACT OF ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION ON HEALTH”

“IMPACT OF ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION ON HEALTH”

Environmental pollution is increasing day-by-day around the whole globe and people have to live in a toxic world in this 21st century. Environmental pollution is alarming for the whole world as it has the worst impact on health and it is the big reason for the spike in diseases like cancer, diabetes, heart disease and lung disease among the public. The harmful impact of environmental pollution on health will be discussed here. A report of the World Health Organization (WHO) says that 92% of the worldโ€™s population lives in polluted areas. Environmental pollution is directly effecting the children of such areas and they are at high risk. According to a report of UNICEF, around 600,000 children are dying annually due to diseases caused by air pollution that is the most common type of environmental pollution.Environmental pollution is causing various types of diseases and defects in the human body. Moreover, the most common pollutants in the environment like sulfur dioxide (SO2), ozone (O3), carbon di and monoxide (CO2 & CO), heavy metals, nitrogen oxides (NOx), etc. are causing various diseases like respiratory disorders, heart stroke, mental disorders, etc…When a human takes a breath in the air, the person inhales various chemicals that have a direct impact on health. Further, it increases the risk of asthma and respiratory diseases as respiration is the main function of the body to live. Also, evidence of scientific research shows that Ozone in the air affects the functioning of the lungs in the human body. Therefore, due to the negative effects on the lungs, people suffer from respiratory inflammation.People living in the polluted area are the victim of cancer mostly. As most of the regions are polluted with industrial smoke, coal smoke, fire smoke, and vehicle smoke. Additionally, cancer is also caused by indoor items and office materials. These indoor items are paints, carpets, Split AC, air freshness, stabilizers, and sterilizers. Not only this, but the existence of the organic compounds in the environment is also causing cancer.Environmental pollution is directly affecting the heart. Therefore, the ratio of heart stroke and diseases are increasing. People of the polluted areas are at high risk of high blood pressure and damaged blood vessel functioning. Also, some pollutants like Ozone affects lung nerves that causes an irregular heart rate.More than the above, environmental pollution is also causing wheezing and coughing in people. Also, environmental pollution harms the immune systems of the body. Therefore, the human body will not able to do the daily activities of life with proper health. The impact of environmental pollution on health is not limited as air pollution is the main source that causes insulin resistance and which leads to the occurrence of diabetes in the human body. Many people are also associated with autoimmune diseases due to environmental pollution. Also, chemicals like CO, NO2, O3 in the air are also causing mood disorders. Even, it causes the arising of the symptoms of the migraine and headache. Skin disorder, reproductive issues, thyroid disorder, obesity, and premature aging are also observed due to environmental pollution.

Climate crisis and the pandemic surrounding it

People have a perception that 2020 has brought them in the midst if a pandemic and it to be solely blamed for all the ruckus in their lives. What can I say, we all are humans ultimately, we are designed to blame other things in this universe for our own wrong doings. What most people don’t realize right now that isn’t supposedly just a limited pandemic which can be cured with the help of a vaccine, it is, in fact, a full fledged climate and health crisis. THESE ARE THE REPERCUSSIONS OF OUR OWN DOINGS !!

It comes as no surprise that India is ranked fourth among the list of countries most affected byย climate change and it emits almost 7% of global emissions in the world. As a result, our daily temperatures keep on rising and glaciers keep on melting.

This crisis is being mainly caused by the society’s on-going cut throat competition regarding the limited resources of this planet, and of course, the merciless exploitation of our nature. We are over using our fossil fuels and the government keeps on cutting down trees to showcase the development being brought about by them. In India, all the issues over any crisis, soon goes on to become the puppets of politics.

  1. Population control- According to statistics, India is projected to overtake China in terms of population within forty years. The population of a country is directly linked to the amount of resources required to survive in it. The monopoly behind resources will continue to prevail till we don’t take adequate steps to control the population and curb the climatic crisis. For the same, many population bills were raised in the Indian parliament to they continue to be stuck in the roaring politics.
  2. Pollution control- This is one of the most obvious ones. Our government took many steps for this but they continue to fail because of the lack of dedication regarding them in the citizens and the government of India. Also, pollution can automatically be controlled by population control.
  3. Reuse, Recycle, Reward- The government can introduce certain awards and rewards to encourage people to go green. We all agree that one who misuses our resources shall be punished, but along with it, one who saves it shall also be appreciated. The government can voluntarily, also provide extended support to the producers and small scale shops who take an extra step for ensuring environment safety.
  4. Volunteer at NGO and in real life- Speak up for the right! You can also extend your support towards the cause by working in NGOs. You can also join protests regarding that.
  5. Environment friendly methods- This is where the talk about awareness and action comes in. On the internet, we can find tons of daily life ways on preserving the environment but what about the people who don’t have an access to the social media? Adequate laws and awareness programmes should be released.

I would like to end this with a powerful quote by MARSHALL MCLUHAN-

“There are no passengers on this spaceship earth. We are all crew.”

We already have the solutions to the problems. All we need to do is to wake up and change!

world food safety day

On 20 December 2018 the United Nation General Assembly adopted resolution 73/250 proclaiming a World Food Safety Day. Starting in 2019, every 7 June will be a time to celebrate the benefits of safe food. Food safety is the absence or safe, acceptable levels of hazards in food that may harm the health of consumers. Food borne hazards can be microbiological, chemical or physical in nature and are often invisible to the plain eye: bacteria, viruses or pesticide residues are some examples. Food safety has a critical role in assuring that food stays safe at every stage of the food chain from production to harvest, processing, storage, distribution, all the way to preparation and consumption.

with an estimated 600 million cases of food borne illness annually, unsafe food is a threat to human and health and economies, disproportionally affecting vulnerable and marginalized people, especially woman and children, population affected by conflict, and migrants. An estimate three million people around the world in developing and developed countries die every year from food and water borne diseases. Food is the starting point for our energy, our health and our well-being. We often take granted that it is safe, but in an increasingly complex and interconnected world where food values chains growing longer, standards and regulations are that much more important in keeping us safe.

KEY FACTS:

  • Access to sufficient amounts of safe and nutritious food is the key of sustaining life and promoting good health.
  • Unsafe food containing harmful bacteria, viruses, parasites, or chemical substances, causes more than 200 diseases ranging from diarrhea to cancer.
  • An estimate of 600 million almost 1 out of 10 people in the world fall ill after eating contaminated food and 420000 die every year, resulting in the loss of 33 million healthy lives.
  • Children under 5 years of age carry 40% of the food borne disease burden, with 125000 deaths every year.
  • Diarrhoeal diseases are the most common illness resulting from the consumption of contaminated food, causing 550 million people to fall ill and 230000 deaths every year.
  • Food safety, nutrition and food security are inextricably linked. Unsafe food creates a vicious cycle of diseases and malnutrition, particularly affecting infants, young, elderly and the sick.
  • Food borne diseases impede socio-economic development by straining health care system, and harming natural economies, tourism and trade.
  • Food supply chains now cross multiple national borders. Good collaborations between governments, producers and consumers helps ensure food safety.

2020 THEME :

In 2020, thee second observance of World Food Safety Day, we all have a chance to recognized the people who help keep our food safe. 2020 was about promoting awareness and urging action by highlighting what everyone can do to ensure safe food. whether you grow, process, transport, store, sell, prepare or consume food, you have a role to play in keeping it safe.

With the five steps below you can see how everyone is involved in food systems and has a part to play in keeping food safe:

  1. Ensure it’s safe – Governments must ensure safe and nutritious food for all.
  2. Grow it safe – Agriculture and food producers need to adopt good practices.
  3. Keep it safe – Business operations must make sure food is safe.
  4. Eat it safe – All consumers have the right to safe, healthy and nutritious food.
  5. Team up for safety – Food safety is a shared responsibility.

Importance of Mental Health

Mental health refers to your emotional and psychological well-being. Having good mental means you are leading a good lifestyle. It helps us to realize the individual’s strengths and weaknesses. Mental health should be taken care of us in almost every part of our life. If you think your mental health is affected then visit a psychologist. Visiting a psychologist doesn’t mean you are insane. Just checking things in your early stage will help you more and you can lead a peaceful life.

The main cause of mental health is Depression. There are many reasons for depression. In India, people think that sharing their depression problem with others will lead to a big risk. They fear getting judged by people. So, they never open up to others. It will gradually take a toll on your mental health and will become a big disorder in your life.

Some people get panic attacks when they read some terrific news or students may get panic attacks before their exams. This can be cured at early stages. But, consulting a psychologist is more important. If you are a working professional and your office provides a separate psychiatrist to treat your problems. Feel free to knock on their cabin. They will treat you like “Don’t judge a book by its cover”. They will listen to your problems patiently and will never jump to conclusions.

If you are a student and your school/ college has a counseling room. Approach them if you are getting depressed. They will share some life stories with you. It will motivate you to overcome the struggles or problems being faced by you.

Especially in these covid times, everybody’s mental health is getting affected because of lockdown and quarantine themselves in their homes. In those cases not listening to unwanted news itself will reduce all your stress and depression. Doing breathing exercises are good for mental health and to have a calm peace of mind. Doing breathing exercises once in the morning and evening will reduce your stress level and you will get a good amount of energy to kickstart your day.

We should raise awareness about mental health and let people know about its impacts. So that we can save many lives. Always trust your instincts. You can take advice from others but having a piece of good advice from your heart will be a good cure for your mental health.

Don’t be ashamed or disheartened to share your depression or anxiety problems with others. Share your problems with the person only if you trust them. It is good to share your problems with strangers too. If you get a chance and the stranger is willing to hear from you give a chance and open up.

This mental health and depression if not treated for a long time can cause heart problems. If you feel sudden palpitations without even walking or running. Then kindly consult a doctor. There may be many reasons. But the common reasons are anxiety and depression. So treat them soon with a good specialist.

workout plan for beginners

The most confusing part after we start a great fitness journey is finding the right workout plan.We can ask for our new gym trainer or explore online. But the fact is no one knows more about your body than yourselves.Sticking to the right workout plan can create a great impact on your overall wellness and lifestyle. But as a beginner ,we all fail to do it right in the start. Here I have comprised a few workouts and a workout tips that can help you to start your fitness adventure.

1.Understand your body:

The first and foremost thing about starting your fitness goals is not straight away jump into workouts, instead research about your body how it reacts to certain workouts and to other. Not all sort of workouts will help you achieve you ideal body.We all have our weakness and strengths. So understanding your body is the first step to a long lasting goals.

2.Start small:

Start by having small workout circuits instead of spending hours in gym or workouts. Why not spend a lot of time if you are beginner .Point one, your body is not capable of accepting a sudden body change. So if you start small ,say for one week for five days with rest days in-between and you only do for 20 minute circuits.Your body will adapt to this gradual change and accept whatever it is.But say you workout for 1 hour circuit for five days.Your body couldn’t accept this amount of movements.Instead we force to accept it.So no matter what ,start small.

3.How your workout plan should look like:

It should comprise of three parts(that’s how i like and you might be too).

The three part can be categorised into

1.Cardio/strength(High impact)

2.Pilates/Yoga(Low impact)

3.Rest days(Very important!)

Dividing and adjusting these three factors in your workouts will not only help you make changes according to your body cues but also you will have a sustained routine for very long time.We need a lifestyle change and not for this moment alone. For example, you can have three cardio/strength days with two low impact days may be in the middle of high impact or after followed by rest days.

It is most vital to understand your body cues.If your body is so restless in a particular. Please rest.Don’t go for the results.Result oriented goals,it will never reap you any good.Hope this blog had helped you understand how to start your fitness goals.Stay fit and motivating.

IMPACT OF SOCIAL MEDIA

Social media is a powerful revolution that has changed our lives all round,it has changed the way that we socialise, conduct our businesses, engage in political affairs, build professions and set job recruitments. With the use of platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, how people socialise has been greatly revolutionised. It has made it easy to connect to our family members, friends and relatives on a real-time basis. With social media, people can share pictures and videos and communicate with their close ones. This has strengthened relationships and it is bringing families together in a way that was not possible in the past.Families, friends, relatives and businesses have the opportunity to share skills and improve on different proficiencies. Additionally, people get to make and meet new friends. The impact of social media on our society has attracted a massive number of users with an estimate of 3.5 billion users worldwide.

Businesses have greatly been impacted by social media โ€” from marketing to interacting with customers on a timely basis. A business that has embraced the use of social has a definite edge over its competitors. The online platforms are a less expensive way for businesses to advertise their offerings on a real-time basis and to attract more customers. It has made it easy for businesses to reach out to a wider customer base and improve customer loyalty through different programmes.Social media has impacted job recruitments significantly. The majority of companies make their hiring decisions based on one’s social portfolio. Recruiters also use online networks to post job vacancies through which they get their ideal candidates. Many professions and skills have been built and learned through social media. There is a massive increase in online learning where one can easily learn a skill and build a strong profession around it. The existence of social media has led to an increase in the number of people undertaking distance learning, as well as academic offerings such as writing services.

The negative impacts of social media:
There are some negative impacts caused by social media. Despite it being a platform through which we socialise, run our business and understand political affairs, here are some negative results .Through sharing personal information, one’s privacy is at risk of impersonations, theft and stalking โ€” among other vices. Nowadays, companies use social media to gauge job seekers. Posting anything abusive or embarrassing could make you lose that job opportunities, because ‘the internet never forgets’.
Online social platforms are addictive and this has drastically reduced productivity at workplaces. This impacts negatively on companies as they incur losses.
Cyberbullying is another worrying impact of social media. Results of cyberbullying have seen victims falling into depression and, in more radical cases, has cost them their lives.
Since information travels faster online, a piece of false information could quickly reach a big number of people and cause great panic among the recipients. In some instances, it has made some people especially the introverts to rely too much on the virtual world as opposed to the real world.
