When English children’s literature is discussed, the name Enid Blyton is bound to be brought up sooner or later. Enid Blyton was a British author who is known worldwide for her books targeted towards children. Even today, decades after her death, her books can still be found in the children’s section of libraries across the world even today. Out of the numerous books she’s written, she is most famed for her series. They span various genres like fantasy, boarding school slice of life as well as mysteries.
Out of Enid Blyton’s book series, these are her most popular five ones:
The Famous Five series
The Famous Five is centered around siblings Julian, Dick, Anne and their cousin Georgina and her dog Timothy. The series is set during their school vacations and follows various adventures the Five experience in the English countryside.
The St. Clare’s series
The St. Clare’s series is the second school boarding school-based series written by Enid Blyton after the Naughtiest Girl series. The story follows two twin girls- Patricia and Isabel O’Sullivan and their journey as well as the journey of their friends and schoolmates at the boarding school of St. Clare’s. The series sees their growth from conceited and arrogant girls to dignified and kind young women. While the original series contained only 6 books, author Pamela Cox, who was responsible for continuing Enid Blyton’s unfinished works after her death, added 3 more titles to the series.
The Secret Seven series
The Secret Seven series follows the adventures of a group of seven children- Peter, his sister Janet, and their friends Pam, Barbara, Jack, Colin and George. The friends form a secret group, which they call the Secret Seven and solve mysteries together. The Secret Seven is one of Enid Blyton’s rare series in which the characters do not attend boarding school; all seven of the children are shown to be attending day school. Coincidentally, the Secret Seven group is based on a real group of friends. Enid Blyton’s publisher’s son Peter and his friends had a ‘secret’ group of their own; they even possessed badges with the inscription of ‘SS’ on them. Enid Blyton exchanged correspondence with this Peter and through his help laid the foundation of the Secret Seven. In 2018 and 2019, two new books, written by author Pamela Butchart were officially added to the Secret Seven series.
The Malory Towers series
The Malory Towers series is Enid Blyton’s third school boarding school series. It follows the story of Darrell Rivers over her years spent at the boarding school of Malory Towers. The original series written by Enid Blyton consists of 6 books. In the year 2009, there was an official continuation to the series. Written by Pamela Cox, the books were a continuation of Darrell’s younger sister, Felicity’s life at Malory Towers.
The Five Find-Outers series
The Five Find-Outers series is another children-based detective series by Enid Blyton. It follows the adventures of Fatty, Larry, Pip, Daisy, Bets and Fatty’s dog Buster and the various mysteries they get entangled in and trying to solve it before the local policeman Mr. Goon.
India is the tenth-largest country by land. Carved out of 565 princely states & 17 provinces at the time of Independence, which were just 14 states and 6 union territories.
With time number of states has grown to 28 states and 8 Union territories. All the states have some issues in between one such issue which raised the eyebrows is the ‘conflict between Assam & Mizoram’.
Carved out of Assam in 1972 as a union territory, Mizoram gained its complete statehood in 1987.The states have a dispute over a border of 164.6 km.
Claims- Mizoram stands by an 1875 notification, which came from ‘The Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation Act of 1873’.
Whereas, Assam claims the land as per ‘1933 notification by the state government that demarcates Lushai Hills’.
During Colonial time Lushai was known as Mizoram.
These borders change with natural obstacles like rivers, forests, etc. Often people living on one side of the land cross it as they are unaware of the border demarcation.
Other Land Disputes in Indian states-
• BelagaviDispute between Karnataka and Maharashtra.
• Assam & Nagaland dispute.
• Gujarat & Rajasthan dispute over Mangadh Hill.
• Himachal dispute with Haryana over Parwanoo region.
• Himachal dispute with Ladakh over claim on Sarchu.
Every day, tons of diversified animal species are killed for their own, people’s purposes, which is known as animal abuse or animal cruelty. Animal cruelty involves harm for no reason, injuring, killing, cruelty, etc. More specifically, causing harm or suffering them for mainly achieving something like killing animals for entertainment, Every 60 secs an animal is abused, especially in this culture of India where we pray, for example, cow and it has a tag ‘Cow is our God’, yet animal cruelty takes place daily and in all kind of places, not only in the industrial animal agriculture. It happens in our neighborhood, neighbors’ houses, but happily, we are not able to see that pain and killing.
People abuse animals for a variety of reasons with various levels of harm. Most of the time, animals are not exploited for clothing and other needs but also consumption of food like meat and flesh, particularly Leathers and feathers. Apart from this, the main reason for exploitation is skin and feathers which are used in the making of shoes, handbags, clothes, belts, etc. Leathers are a kind of material that is strong, flexible, and prevents tanning and prevent decay, which is used for all the necessities. The Leathers are obtained from cattle, sheep, goats, buffalo, and aquatic animals such as seals and alligators. The leading producer of leather is India and China. The top luxury high-end fashion brands which use leather are Prada, Gucci, Fendi, Louis Vuitton, and Chanel. Every year, the leather industry slaughters one billion animals and tan their skins. Just imagine the consumption of leather in a year. Another such thing is Meat production is profitable from not just only animal’s flesh but also the co-products include blood and fat which is used for explosives, tires, paints, cosmetics, and heart valves that are used for medicines, etc. The skin of the animal is the significant economy of the meatpacking industry. Cows are used for the production of milk, they are injected to produce fast milk. When the cows are declined to further produce more, then they are sent to slaughterhouses for butchering, and then beef trading is done. India is the highest seller of beef. The economic success of this kind of slaughterhouse is directly dependent on the sale of meat and skin and this leather stuffs. Many animals are used for experiments such as feeding dogs some pesticides, mice, and rats are forced to inhale fumes, and applying some sort of harmful chemicals in the rabbit’s eyes. Even if these products harm the animals, still are marketed to consumers.
This shows how negative impactful we have been towards animals. Its We humans are very cruel towards animals and have made their life a living hell. Animals don’t deserve to die like this, to be treated in this manner. Loving one animal and abusing another called speciesism is done by us humans every day. Is there an end to it? Yes maybe. Many cruelty-free cosmetic brands have been started which seems to be a very great initiative, many people are converting themselves into vegans to reduce the slaughterhouse economy and saving animals.
The status of women in India has been subject to many changes over the span of recorded Indian history. Their position in history deteriorated early in India’s ancient period, especially in the Indo-Aryan speaking region and their subordination continued to be refined well with India’s early modern period.
Even though, women nowadays are aware of their basic rights like right to vote, right to freedom etc but most women of India are unaware of their rights because of illiteracy and the oppressive traditions. Some of the challenges faced by India women are:
=> Gender discrimination: Women face discrimination right from the birth in the form of female foeticide and infanticide.
=>Major socio-cultural challenges such as patriarchy and gender inequality in society is the main cause of women’s deprivation by way of health, food and nutrition, more susceptible to mortality and contributing to unbalanced male female ratio as well as in the sphere of education, employment, wages and that of political representation. Subsequently this has led to increasing violence and denial of human rights, liberty, equality and justice.
=> The patriarchal family system that prevails in India gives more rights and authorities to the male enabling them to enjoy more power over the female in the family. So women are suppressed, oppressed, harassed, subjugated and deprived of even their basic rights till date.
=>Illiteracy and traditional beliefs and practices of family have prevented a great majority of women from access to health care and knowledge about their rights and privileges resulting in high rate of maternal mortality and morbidity. The high mortality rates among women as revealed by maternal death due to various diseases indicate that women health in general and reproductive health in particular are neglected in our society.
=> Rising crime and violence against women is only due to social stigma that women are weaker section of society. Due to financial constraints and acute poverty, young girls are often married at a very early stage.
=> Political challenges such as less political participation and Pati panchayats affects the role of women in decision-making process in society. Even after the reservation in Panchayats, women leaders are often used as a rubber stamp by their male family members thereby affecting the significance of the laws enacted by the government for women empowerment.
Conclusion:
Rightly did Swami Vivekanand say, “Just as a bird cannot fly with one wing only, a Nation cannot march forward if the women are left behind”.Men and women are two halves of a perfect whole. Therefore the women ought to be empowered as well as respected.
Being bilingual is a skill that is highly valued in today’s workplace and society. Being well-versed in two languages not only widens the career prospects but also broadens the thinking capacity and the knowledge-base of the individuals.
Bilingual students are able to use two languages at the same time, switching consistently, it develops skills for functions such as inhibition, switching attention, and working memory. Students who are being educated bilingually, often perform better on tasks which require multi-tasking, decision making and problem solving, even though they have nothing to do with the language.
2. Academic advantage
In addition to the enhanced cognitive functions, switching between two languages easily helps children develop their literacy skills and enhance their verbal intelligence and social skills.
Along with the flexibility of switching between languages will be a more flexible thought process. They learn to focus on the key elements of the conversation / topic at hand. Younger children learning in a dual-language environment understand more the finer points of how language works. Their logic process and ability to distinguish sound, intonation and accent makes them more likely to pay attention when a teacher is speaking in class.
3. Improved memory
Children who learn a second and third language have better memories and are more cognitively creative than single language speaking counterparts. Research has indicated that bilingual people are usually better at remembering names, directions and items than those who speak one language.
4. Broadens career opportunities
Being fluent in an extra language can make a candidate stand out among prospective employers. It also open doors to extra opportunities that those without these skills may miss out on.
5. Children with a bilingual education are more adaptable
Language isn’t just about learning sets of words and grammar, it is also learning about another culture and another way of life. The advantage of bilingual education gives children a broader outlook and brings them closer to different races and nationalities.
Solace means to comfort or consolation and solitude means , “to be by oneself”. So, solace in solitude is the idea of finding comfort in one’s own embrace and without any party involved except yourself.
Finding solace in solitude is one of the greatest lessons one can learn in life. Enjoying your alone time creates space in your mind, heart, and soul thus freeing your creativity, mending your heart, and nourishing your soul.
Some of the biggest emotional and/or creative breakthroughs have been achieved by people spending time in solitude. Solitude should not be confused with loneliness as they are completely different things, “psychologists define ‘solitude’ as the state of being physically alone with no one else to communicate with — not to be confused with loneliness, or the feeling of being disconnected from others and longing for connection.”
In the time we live in solitude is rarely achieved, since we all have to be so active on social media platforms and stay in touch with people we have never met in life.
The Personalities of People Who Enjoy Solitude: Not Introversion, but Autonomy and Authenticity
Solitude has long been considered the special domain of introverts. In the popular imagination, they are the ones who embrace their time alone. Through research already hinted, that other factors mattered more, but for the most part, the theories were not dissuaded.
Insecure attachment has also been posited as an important characteristic of people who want to be alone, but for psychologically unhealthy reasons. Insecure people are anxious around others or they try to avoid personal relationships.
People who are autonomous and authentic describe themselves in these three ways, as measured by the Index of Autonomous Functioning:
They experience authorship of their own actions. Sample item: “My actions are congruent with who I really am.”
They are curious about themselves. Sample item: “I am interested in why I act the way I do.”
They are not susceptible to being controlled by other people. Example of an item they disagree with: “I do a lot of things to avoid feeling ashamed.”
Ways of Experiencing Solitude
Valuing their time alone with them self.
The solitude brings out the best in them.
Feeling more relaxed and less stressed when alone.
Becoming more aware of their thoughts and emotions.
They are not undone by their own thoughts and emotions, even when they are negative ones such as anxiety or fear; instead, they are curious about those reactions.
They are not all that tempted to do something just to distract themselves; sitting with their own thoughts is fine.
Never worrying about what other people think they should be doing.
Alone-time Activities of the Authentically Engaged
Doing something they were good at.
Doing something they really wanted to do.
Doing something they were passionate about.
Doing something that was an expression of their values.
Taking a break from tending to others to take care of themselves.
So, it doesn’t have to be one grandiose event after another, rather it may be better to do a bunch of small things, so when you look back, you have a list of joyful moments to refer to. Whether it be pouring yourself a cup of coffee, going to the gym, or watching the sunset, find those moments that compile satisfaction.
India is the second-largest populated country that is India holds 17.70% of the world’s share, yet we lack in most of the things. The reason is not proper education among people. We live most of our life to earn for our basic needs and to run our family. We are not aware of the country’s growth. Although we say “Unity in Diversity”, it is not the same in some cases.
Sad reality
In India, we are educating our children to get a decent job later. Most Indian parents are against their children becoming athletes, astronauts, artists, Gymnasts, Boxers, etc. We believe it is tough for our child to shine in the tough competition (i.e) we judge our children’s talents by ourselves. We believe those sports will not be enough to run their family in the future and, getting recognition by the government is hard too.
But this is not only the people’s fault. Many schools and colleges are also the reason for not giving equal importance to both academics and sport. Unfortunately, most schools have a physical education period(which is only 40-45 minutes) once a week, and that too till the ninth standard.
According to parents, the students interested in sports cannot achieve anything in academics which is disagreeable because “Sports==Discipline”. Although there is a sports Kota to enter college, they are not recognizable after their college studies. Also, many colleges have no physical education for all students.
PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal
Even in some villages, parents allow their children to choose sports as their career but, it is not the case in cities. It is a blind belief that sports are for rich people in our country. Also, women in India achieving in sports are the real fighters of life. Their real fight is not the game but their family because not every parent will allow their daughter to sports.
But we can say our situation is getting better by awareness through social media and digital media. Our government is also encouraging sports players by giving recognizable awards, job opportunities, and sponsorships.
“Padhoge likhoge banoge nawab, jo kehloge, kudoge banoge kharab” is a proverb that has become a permanent wound for physical education.
In present-day society, there are many misconceptions about physical education. Even many people do not know the meaning of physical education. Some people treat it like physical training, whereas others treat it like physical culture. Some people have the assumption that physical education is nothing except games and sports. Some people think that it is only bodybuilding which is done with the help of weight training exercises.
It means different people have different thoughts or misconceptions about the meaning of physical education.
Physical Education is nothing but to Play
It is usually presumed that physical education is nothing but playing games and sports. Games and sports are a part of physical education. In physical education, various subjects are taught such as Psychology, Sports Sociology, Human Anatomy, and Physiology, etc.
Creates Indiscipline
It is also a wrong notion about physical education that it creates indiscipline behavior in children. Sportspersons always behave in a disciplined way and follow the rules and regulations not only in playfield but in real life also. Moreover, many programs of physical education decrease the possibility of undesired behaviors.
Waste of Time
Most parents think that participation in games and sports is a waste of time which is why they don’t send their children to play. It is such a competitive age that parents lay too much stress on the study of their children and rebuke them if they go to play. But they have to understand that playing sports helps in the proper growth and development of the child.
Physical Education is Body-Building
Participating in physical activity, such as weight training increases muscular strength and power which are beneficial in improving performance. So, it is wrong to think that physical education is just bodybuilding.
Fewer Career Opportunities
A large number of people hold the notion that physical education has fewer job opportunities. In past, there were fewer career opportunities in this field, but now there are increasing rapidly. Some career opportunities are sports media, sports management, sports physiologists, and many more.
Waste of Money
Nowadays, sports and games are considered a big business. Good sportspersons get a lot of money by participating in games and sports and by advertisements. Along these, facilities in the form of sports equipment, uniforms, free education, and free meals are provided to a good sportsperson. So, it is not a waste of money, rather it is a way of making money.
Physical Education Helps in Physical Development and Not in Mental Development
Most people have the misconception that physical education helps in physical development and not in the mental development of children. No doubt that physical education helps in the physical development of an individual but it also helps in mental development. We should not forget the views of Montague. He avers, “Physical education does neither train up the soul nor body but the whole man.” Studies found that students who participate in programs of physical education are more intelligent in comparison to non-participant students. Hence, it is also a misconception that it does not help in mental development.
When it comes to children’s books, probably no other English author can come close to the popularity of Enid Blyton. Enid Mary Blyton is one of Britain’s most popular authors, with numerous publications of stories, poems and plays targeted towards children.
Early life
Enid Blyton was born on the 11th of August 1897 in the eastern part of Dulwich in London, England. Her father was a salesman while her mother was a homemaker. She was the eldest of three siblings, having two younger brothers. As a child, she adored her father and shared a special bond with him. Her father had a keen interest in music, literature, theatre, gardening and nature. These interests were passed to her as well. Her father eventually walked out of the family when she was thirteen. This incident and its effects put a blow on her relationship with him and worsened her relationship with her mother. Unfortunately, Enid would never try to repair either relationship and remained distant the rest of her life.
In the September of 1916, she decided to enroll in a teacher training course at Ipswich High School, Ipswich. After finishing and getting her degree in 1918, she taught in a boys-school for a brief amount of time, before working as a nursery governess. She finally started writing as a profession in 1920.
Career
Enid Blyton showed an interest in writing from a young age. At the age of 14, she made her first foray into the literary world through a poetry competition. Her first publication was in March 1916 with a poetry submission in a children’s magazine called Nash’s Magazine. She actively started writing in 1920 and her work began to be noticed by quite a few publications. Her first published book was a twenty-four-page collection of poems. It was called Child Whispers and was published in 1922. She gained momentum as a writer in 1923, when her work of poems was published in the publication Teachers’ World alongside famous writers like Rudyard Kipling, Walter de la Mare and G.K. Chesterton.
Her first full length book and first series was Adventures of the Wishing Chair of the ‘Wishing Chair’ series. It was published in 1937. This would see the beginning of several of her famous series of books such as fantasy series like the Faraway Tree series and Wishing Chair series, the boarding school series like the Naughtiest Girl series, the St. Clare series, and the Malory Towers series along with detective series like the Secret Seven series, the Famous Five series and the Secret series. They continue to be popular and a sight seen in children’s section of libraries even today.
Apart from writing books, Enid Blyton was also had regular columns in magazines where she wrote about the mundane aspects of her life, along with her observations of her surrounding nature, an interest she had since childhood.
Death
In her mid-sixties, Enid Blyton began to show symptoms of dementia. She spent the final months of her life in a nursing home in London and passed away on the 28th of November 1968.
Scientists claim to have finally found out how to make a time crystal, a scientific oddity that could prove to be a watershed event for fundamental physics and quantum physics.
Time crystals take advantage of a physics quirk that allows them to change constantly while being dynamically stable. In other words, they don’t emit energy when they change conformation, which appears to be a breach of the natural law that states that everything eventually decays into entropy and chaos According to Quanta Magazine, it now appears that these entities may exist after all.
At least, that’s what a large group of researchers from Stanford, Princeton, and other universities working with Google’s quantum computing labs claimed in a preprint paper published last week.
Aside from being an amazing scientific discovery in and of itself — time crystals are a new, strange phase of matter — the discovery could have huge implications for the finicky world of quantum computing. Roderich Moessner, research coauthor and head of the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems, told Quanta, “The result is amazing: you circumvent the second law of thermodynamics.”
Computing with Crystals
This research essentially means that specialists believe they’ve worked out how to transport time crystals from theoretical abstraction — a world they’ve been in since they were initially envisioned around a decade ago — to concrete reality, as The Next Web points out.
The authors of the new paper claim to have experimentally demonstrated a time crystal for the first time, putting them ahead of many previous attempts in the field — Quanta points out that many researchers have claimed to have created or observed the first time crystal, including a group of scientists who shared a similarly unverified study in early July, but that none of them were up to snuff.
“There are good reasons to believe that none of those experiments completely succeeded, and a quantum computer like [Google’s] would be particularly well placed to do much better than those earlier experiments,” said John Chalker, a physicist at the University of Oxford who wasn’t involved in the study.
If the new discovery stands up under investigation and someone succeeds to put these time crystals to use in a practical fashion, we may soon be living in a world with practical, powerful quantum computers that can do all we’ve been led to believe they can.
Healthy lifestyle habits starts with a healthy change in our sleep schedules . Getting a solid amount of proper sleep is indispensable for our body to function properly and be productive . Going to bed early and getting up early have positive affects on your body and soul . Here are a few reasons why you should start getting up early ,
BOOSTS PRODUCTIVITY – Waking up early can seriously boost your productivity levels as you get more hours to work and don’t have to rush . Getting up early gives you more energy , and hence has a positive affect on your productivity levels . Try doing your college work or office work early in the morning and notice the change yourself.
BETTER SLEEP – It is research proven that people who wake up early get better quality sleep . Quality sleep implies less dark circles , healthier skin , it also improves your mood and helps you concentrate properly. Since waking up early has you more energised , exercising at this hour can be very beneficial . Exercising reduces your chances of getting a heart disease or obesity .
Interacting with friends and families is always a concern for people across the long distance. Since communications are the way to strengthen the relationship between people, they started thinking to develop a way to solve this issue. People started to create new solutions where face-to-face communication is not possible. With the advancement of technology in the late 19th century, the first recognizable social media site named Six Degrees was created in 1997. HI TO ALL THE BEAUTIFUL SOULS, Today, I thought of writing a context regarding CHANCE. What is a CHANCE? An opportunity, a Trump card, a luck, God’s blessings and so on. Based on the people’s perception the word “chance” Carries it’s meaning. Each and every one of us here are getting a chance of doing something better than done before. It is human nature to look for a chance every now and then, but when we get one we often fails to utilize it. Not everyone here is missing their chances, but most of us do miss our wonderful chance because of our fear, laziness, hesitation, lack of knowledge, carelessness etc. Whenever we miss a chance, obviously we will be having our own reasons, which actually is an excuse for not using our chance. *A student would have missed his/her chance of getting 1st prize.
*An employee would have missed his/her chance of getting promoted. *A friend Would have missed a chance of getting his/her friend back (after a misunderstanding) *A lover would have missed a chance of convincing his/her better half. Every soul here, has missed many chances. Some of them would have been their last chance.
That’s okay, let us not worry for our missed chances, and let’s focus on our upcoming chances. Life is all about getting a chance from others and giving others a chance. So, when you get a chance make a proper use of it, because the chance which you got now might be your last chance. Later on, praying to God saying “if I get another chance, will be doing great” Which is a mere waste one!! At the end of the day, it’s up to you, whether you are going to make use of the chance you got or not.

IMPORTANCE
The importance of rainwater harvesting lies in the fact that it can be stored for future use. Just as it can be used directly so also the stored water can be utilized to revitalize the ground level water and improve its quality. Despite the hardships and health risks, millions of essential front-line workers continue to do their jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic. These hardworking heroes are picking their up their trash, providing them life-saving medicine, delivering their groceries and packages, preparing their food, cleaning their hospitals, caring for those who are most vulnerable, and keeping us safe often while earning low wages and few benefits. Although doctors and nurses who earn a median wage of Rs.7875 per hour and Rs.2550 per hour, respectively receive the lion’s share of public recognition for their life-saving role in the fight against COVID-19, they represent less than 20% of all essential health workers. Millions of other health workers ear significantly lower wages while receiving less recognition for their roles, despite their sacrifices. Nearly 7 million essential workers are employed in low wages health jobs on the COVID-19 front-lines, including:
Health care support workers such as orderlies and phlebotomists.
Direct care workers such as home health and personal care aides
Health care service workers such as house-keepers and cooks
Median wages across these occupations were just Rs.1011 per hour in 2019 well short of a living wages. More than 80% of them are women, and they are also disproportionately workers of color.
Risk of infection

Healthcare workers have recreated a solution to make up for the lack of PPE by using by using the resources they do to have in stock. They have used plastic bags has gowns and plastic water bottle cut-outs for eye protection.
The shortage of PPE is worst in low income hospitals. Items such as PPE has always been scare commodities in low income countries. UICEF reported that the organization was only able to acquire one tenth of 240 million masks requested by these communities.
Deaths
Doctors and nurses death due to COVID-19 has reported in many countries. In May 2020 at-least 260 nurses have died due to COVID-19. In March at-least 50 doctors have died due to COVID-19 in Italy. Increasing work demands on healthcare professionals conflict with their duties to family and friends, which causes psychological stress. Healthcare professionals reported being anxious about having to self-isolate, quarantine or becoming ill. Healthcare workers like nurses, doctors and other medical staff that worked on the front-line in China experienced symptoms of anxiety, depression and difficulty in sleeping. Health care workers are at risk for developing trauma or other stress-related disorders due to fears of falling ill and no knowing what will happen in the future. Post-traumatic stress was common among health workers with nurses demonstrating a higher likelihood of developing or having anxiety among others in the medical field. An Italian committed suicide after being traumatized trying to save the lives of those with COVID-19. In Mexico, healthcare professional have also reported high levels of anxiety, because of the fear of being an asymptomatic patient, which could potentially lead to the unknowingly spread of the disease among their patients and their families.
We Indians are fond of all things bright and extravagant, then may it be in terms of our festivals or food or celebrations or for that matter movies. Cinema has been the one binding force that possesses the power to unite nations through the guise of entertainment. It holds the string to weave stories and urge emotions and stir in us the latent passion we all possess for sports. Over the past decade, Indian cinema has shrugged off its cape of focusing on cricket and donned that of other, lesser-known sports. The driving force in the cinema of the past decade when it came to sports-centric movies has largely been athlete-driven with biographies and historically relevant sporting achievements being the order of the last ten years.
The Indian Film Industry, better known as Bollywood occupies probably the second spot in the list of most loved things by us Hindustanis. If ever it receives any competition, it is only by another one of the favorites, sports. While cricket is lives in every Indian’s heart, most them have their heart, body and soul dedicated to this game, there are also other games like hockey, tennis, football which an average Indian takes interest in. What happens when these two favorite meet together? Fireworks! Here’s a list of few of the best sports films in India which have enthralled and entertained audiences and made them hoot like crazy or cry with cry with sheer pleasure.

You come alone in this world and go alone from this world. People often hear this, but how many give priority to themselves? How many people practice self-love? With the increasing social media trends where pseudo impeccability is depicted, self-love has become the rarest form of love. I am no one to give any kind of sermon, I am also a human being and I know how difficult it is to practice self-love in reality, but it is really important.
Why Self love is Difficult?
CHILDHOOD TRAUMAS Childhood is the most essential stage of life. Some have a very mesmerizing childhood but some have to face body shaming, racism, abuse, violence etc. and when you become an adult you can imagine past reflections of them and these keep on haunting you again and again. EMBARRASSING MOMENTS Many times you say things that sound dumb. When you realize what dumb thing you said, you start underestimating yourself. This is the step towards self-loathing. REGRETTING Many chances come and go, but when you miss a golden opportunity, then you keep on regretting that. You doubt your capabilities. YOU HAVEN’T ACHIEVED ANYTHING GREAT TILL NOW Whatever area you entered, you haven’t achieved anything except failures which resulted in self-hatred.
How to Practice Self Love?
☆If you don’t love yourself because of those embarrassing moments which happened in front of people then you have a wrong perception. They might have forgotten that and you are still stumbling upon that. JUST REMEMBER THAT NO ONE CARES. ☆If you lost that golden chance, it’s okay. Do remember that if you lost it, something big might surely be on its way. ☆If you have faced some childhood traumas, I know that none of us can forget them and this is the reality, but you can work on yourself and whenever they will haunt you will not self loathe. Start doing things which you like, if you don’t have any hobby start doing different things and you will surely end up having one. Start exercising not because of that body shaming, exercise will surely boost up your confidence. ☆Don’t forget if you haven’t achieved anything till now that does not mean that you will not do anything in life. This may be a misconception on your side, you may have achieved much more than you think, even the little things matter in life. Hardly any one of us can become “GEET” from “JAB WE MET ” but just stop judging yourself, this society is already enough to judge you. It is easier to say than to implement but always remember that you are worth more than you think. Just introspect yourself, talk to yourself and ALL THINGS WILL FALL IN RIGHT PLACE.

Because of these reasons, even after graduation getting a job is a difficult task while interviewing many of them face issues regarding confidence and skills. But as we all the world has been changed in few months because of noble corona virus. We all know how students have given their exams, from home and online exams are known to be the easiest as there is no invigilator to check upon kids. Though all are not the same one point we, do know. For example, Today there was this ad in the newspaper regarding hiring new employees. In that ad, it was 2021 pass-outs are not allowed for this job requirement. This clearly showed what will be the impact on students on not getting any jobs. Another example is, one of my cousins applied for the job in a very big and renowned ad company in Mumbai, perhaps having a good CV and smartness she didn’t get the job there. She’s interning in that company itself but not on the level she deserves. This clearly explains how corona virus has got all of us into it. Within a month, unemployment increased 6.7% in March to 26% in April. It is reported that 45% of the households have been dropped.
Most of the Indian population won’t be able to handle this because there will be no savings for future purposes if the situation continues, which will affect the future generation. All in all our education system is vague and even after one dedicates 15 years of its short life he struggles to get a 15,000 salary. We need to rethink this, the system needs to be changed, our thoughts and beliefs need to be changed.
Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, 1967 is a law that aims at preventing any unlawful activities by any association that might jeopardise India’s sovereigntyand integrity. Parliament has recently passed the UAPA Bill in 2019 which have made some changes in the existing law.
Amendments:
In the existing law, only the associations/groups are termed “terrorist organisations”. However, in the new bill, individuals can be designated as ” terrorists “.
The new existing law states that the power to conduct investigations on cases related to UAPA rest with officers of the rank of Deputy Superintendent or ACP and above whereas the new bill provides this power to officers of the rank of inspectors and above. The changes are not made on aspects related to arrest and bails.
In the existing law, the NIA must have prior permission from the Director General of Police before seizure or attachment of properties. However, the bill gives the power to NIA to approve of the seizure or attachment of the property without any permission from the DGPs.
International Convention for Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism(2005) has been added in the amendment.
Conclusion
Human Rights groups are openly opposing the proposed changes in the laws. According to them, notifying an individual as a terrorist without giving him an opportunity of being heard violates the individual’s right to dignity and reputation, which is a facey of right to life and personal liberty under Article 21.
Further, the ambiguous nature of the act affects federal structure of the nation as it gives more power to the central government. Branding anyone a terrorist without any judicial process, legal consequences and defence and limited justice for the accused and curtailing the powers of the State Police Forces are among the concerns with regard to the bill.
The idea behind passing of such amendments was to strengthen the security of a nation from external state and non-state actors. However, an integrated approach should be followed while making such amendments to create a balance between human rights, fundamental rights and national security.

The worldwide spyware industry has been operating in the shadows for years, with only human rights organisations and journalists exposing it. According to the industry, it is in the business of combating crime and terrorism. However, its members frequently sell to governments that conflate the terms “criminal” and “terrorist” with “critic” and “dissent.”
Over the weekend, Forbidden Stories, a Paris-based media foundation, teamed up with a global consortium of news organisations, including the Post, to expose how phoney the promises of combating crime and terror are. According to the consortium, Israel’s NSO Group has marketed their signature spyware, Pegasus, to clients who have used it against the basic pillars of democratic life: press freedom, telecommunications freedom, and freedom of expression.
Pegasus, like other tools, converts journalists’ phones, opposition lawmakers’ phones, and nonviolent activists’ phones into real-time spying devices. Hundreds of journalists and politicians from Hungary, India, Mexico, Morocco, and other countries are among the phone numbers named as spyware targets in a leaked list.
Hundreds of companies compete for a slice of the lucrative private surveillance pie all around the world. Some apps allow for intrusions into a person’s phone or tablet. Others create surveillance software, malicious facial recognition software, direct access to Internet traffic, and user data and communications.
They sell and service their products to government clients regardless of their status. We are on the verge of a worldwide surveillance technology disaster, with an avalanche of tools being shared across borders and governments failing to impose export or usage restrictions.
The international community needs to act to rein in the global spyware industry. The following should be included in the endeavour. To begin, states should impose a ban on the sale and transfer of spyware technology until a worldwide export policy can detect and restrict these tools.
Governments should negotiate a regime that, among other things, carefully defines the technologies in question; requires transparent human-rights assessments for the development and transfer of any such tools; includes a public registry of tools, companies, and clients; and allows public comment in the case of any export application. If a worldwide regime fails to be bold enough, democratic countries should agree to prohibit both domestic and international use of spyware.
The European Union just took a small step toward regulating surveillance technology trade, not only because of the threat to national security, but also because of the threat to human rights. However, the fact that Viktor Orban’s government in Hungary is listed as a client of NSO Group in the Pegasus Project demonstrates why simply regulating the trade in spyware systems is insufficient. After all, European officials are disingenuous in seeking restrictions on the trade in spyware systems when Europeans market the techniques of choice. It’s even more difficult to be credible when the European Union uses the latest spyware techniques to track dissent.
Israel’s double standard is particularly evident. NSO Group, as well as other spyware companies such as Candiru, which Microsoft accused of selling tools to get into Windows last week, are based in the country. It is critical that Israel reins in its spyware industry and joins democratic nations in combating the spread of technology that mimic commercial intelligence agencies. Second, export control isn’t the only instrument at your disposal for limiting spyware’s propagation.
For any use of spyware, governments adopting these technologies must establish transparent, rule-of-law-based criteria. Any government that does not adopt such rules — or has a history of abuse — should be placed on a global no-transfer list. Democracies and authoritarian governments are likely to split out soon. Third, spyware victims must be allowed to sue governments and firms participating in the monitoring sector.
Individuals are frequently victimised by agents working beyond their boundaries due to the prevalence of transnational repression, while domestic law frequently creates impediments to accountability. Those impediments must be removed. Finally, multi-stakeholder constraints must be imposed on the firms themselves. The UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, a global benchmark for corporate human rights practise, are said to be followed by the NSO Group. It, on the other hand, does not subject its policy to any independent review.
The international community should work toward a worldwide code of behaviour and halt the growth of spyware for repression, taking a leaf from the campaign to control the private mercenary sector. The current discoveries regarding NSO’s Pegasus software’s reach and dangers are the latest, and hopefully final, wake-up call for the private spyware sector to be reined in.

Writing a resume requires a balance of finesse and attention-to-detail to land an interview for the role you seek. It’s all about presenting your professional brand in a way that will pique the interest of a hiring manager.
There’s more than one way to write a resume. But writing a good resume is easier said than done, especially if you lack formal work experience. However, there are some resume-writing tips that can help you present your best skills and top achievements to potential employers.
Before you start writing your resume, there are a few things you’ll need to prepare. Remember, each resume you write should be customized to an individual role.
To ensure you have all the information you need at your fingertips, keep the following in mind:
Look at the job ad to understand the role.
List your applicable soft, hard and technical skills.
Highlight important job duties from each of your previous positions.
Choosing the Resume Format
Before you start writing anything, the first step is to decide on the right format for your resume. There are three basic resume formats used by job seekers today: reverse-chronological, functional, and combination.
Chronological resume format
Functional resume format
Combination resume format
So, which format is the best?
Fortunately, there’s a simple answer: the reverse chronological format is the best choice for the vast majority of job seekers. Most employers are used to seeing chronological resumes, and it’s considered the standard format for job seekers in every industry.
Why? Because for most new and mid-level professionals the chronological format is the best way to showcase their blossoming career.
Resume objective
The professional summary is how you grab a reader’s attention and express your career goals and interest in three to five sentences. It is usually the section hiring managers spend the most time on, so it should be both succinct and customized to the job posting.
Use this section if:
I am an entry-level applicant.
I do not have in-depth experience in the industry.
I am a recent college graduate.
Don’t if:
I have a wealth of industry-specific skill sets.
I am changing career paths.
Here are two examples of career objectives:
“Dedicated marketing professional with 12 years of experience looking to explore a career in design.”
“Recent graduate looking to pursue a career at a pharmaceutical company in chemical research.”
Writing your work experience section
Employers want to see the impact your work has had in your previous jobs, so your work experience should be more than just a list of responsibilities. Results matter and numbers are powerful. Regardless of your role, it’s usually possible to find data or metrics that prove your impact in previous roles. Some tips:
List your jobs in reverse-chronological order. Add your most recent position first. If you have many years of experience or have changed jobs often, focus on the first 10 years of your employment history.
Show off the positive. Did you give great advice to customers or improve a less than effective program? Then let your future employers know so they can see what you’d bring to the table if you are hired.
Don’t forget keywords. Whenever possible, use keywords from the job ad to describe your accomplishments and job duties. Use the same language as the job posting. Don’t clutter your resume with buzzwords because you think you should. Use your real experience to prove that you’re a great fit.
Completing the resume
Now that you’ve written the bulk of your resume, it’s time to focus on the finer details of your document. Listing out your educational experience proves your industry qualifications and lets employers know you are a good fit.
To start, your header/contact information should be in a font that is professional and easy to read. Make sure to double-check your contact information for accuracy. Add the finishing touches to your resume by including:
Links to your portfolio or website, if applicable
Link to your LinkedIn profile
Details about special training and certifications, if applicable
Information about awards and honors you’ve won, if they are relevant to the role
Languages
Volunteer work
Industry conferences
Edit and proofread your resume
Fact-check the details. Double-check things like dates and the spelling of company or school names and that all of your contact information is accurate and up to date.
Proofread your resume. Your hard work on making the resume most presentable will go down the drain if your resume is full of spelling and grammatical errors. Read the page from top to bottom before deeming it ready for recruiters. Whenever possible, send your document to a trusted friend for a fresh set of eyes.

Thirty-five years ago, it was on 19 March 1986 that the first mass suicide by a farmers family in Yavatmal district was recorded. Sahebrao Karpe Patil, a farmer, a former panchayat member of Chil Gavhan village had committed suicide along with his wife and four children. The family had traveled from what was then a relatively remote village in Yavatmal to Pavanar in nearby district, where Vinoba Ashram is located. The farmer couple committed suicide by consuming pesticide, first feeding their children the poisonous food. On Delhi’s borders, over 250 farmers associated with the ongoing agitation are said to have lost their lives over the past few months. Quite a few of them are said to have committed suicide, others died due to exposure to harsh winter, illnesses and accident.
Farmers suicide in India refers to the national catastrophe of framers committing suicide since the 1970’s, often by drinking pesticides, due to their inability to repay loans mostly taken from private landlords and banks. The National Crime Records Bureau of India reported that a total 294,438 Indian farmers had committed suicide since 1995. Out of these 60,750 farmers suicides were in state of Maharashtra since 1995 and the remaining in Odisha, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Chattisgarh, all states with loose financial and entry regulations.
India is an agrarian country with around 70% of its people of depending directly or indirectly upon agriculture. Agriculture had 15.4% share in economy of India in year 2017. Around 41.49% of total labor are associated with agriculture in the year 2020. Farmer suicide account for 11.2% of all suicides in India. Activists and scholars have offered a number of conflicting reasons for framer suicides, such as anti farmer laws, high debt burdens, poor government policies, corruption in suicides, crop failure, mental health, personal issues and family problems.
Causes of farmers suicide
Indebtedness
Crop failure
Inability to sell the crops grown
Disappointing realization of prices
Family problems Sense of loss and depression
The indebtedness of farmers is one of the main reasons driving them to commit suicide. The problem starts with the availability of timely credit. The banking sector is not ready to provide credit or loan to agriculture for avoiding risk. From 1991 to 2001, the indebtedness of farmers has grown by two times. Agriculture credit became a low priority, with some committees suggesting withdrawal of credit support to farmers. Credit for housing and buying a car is available at a 9% to 11% rate of interest while a crop loans to the farmers are 17%. This shows the lack of government support for the farmers.
The impact on COVID-19 on farmers
The coronavirus disease has impacted not only physical health but also mental health and well-being globally. These impacts can be critically higher among marginalized individuals and populations like farmers in India. Suicidal behavior is not new among farmers in the middle of COVID-19 lockdown, who had debts and could find laborers during the lockdown leading to helpless situation of committing suicide. Every year, Indian farmers face risks such as low rainfall, price volatility and rising debts. But risks from the COVID-19 pandemic are putting new challenges in front of a sector that is already under threat. The nation wide lockdown came at an unfortunate time farmers, as it was the harvest season for the winter crop (rabi).
Conclusion
The government of India needs to take measures to prevent this issue. The government must provide proper institutional financial support to farmers, a good crop insurance scheme in cases of crop failure, and provide genuine relief to the affected farmers because, every farmer who commits suicide, the country is falling one step down. So, we need to save our farmers from this misery as they are the ones who feed us.
Bollywood and sports are without a doubt the most popular industries in India. And when they both come together, one should expect nothing less than a classic film for people of all age groups. The story of an underdog’s success, a biopic about a famous sports star or a forgotten hero, Bollywood has given us a number of ‘must watch’ movies. Here are 20 Bollywood Sports Movies that you absolutely should not miss:
1Jannat
Ohh, this movie! Drama, Romance, Cricket – it has everything you need in a Bollywood movie. Emraan Hashmi finds cricket match-fixing as a shortcut to earn a lot of money. He marries the girl of his dreams without telling her about his wrongdoings. But all hell breaks loose when the girl realizes where Emraan’s gets his luxurious living from.
The movie shows the ugly side of cricket which has been in the news for the past few decades. You get a closer look in the world of match-fixing and betting. And although there is a lot of drama in the movie, the storyline and the character played by Emraan Hashmi makes this a must watch movie.
2Ferrari Ki Sawaari
Yes, there will be a lot of movies related to cricket in this list. Because let’s face it, Cricket and Bollywood simply cannot be separated.
Ferrari Ki Sawaari is the movie about an honest father who goes out of his ways to help his son’s Cricket career. Sharman Joshi plays the role of a father who wants nothing but his son to succeed in Cricket. Boman Irani, on the other hand, does not want his grandson to get into the game where the competition can crush millions of dreams. Sharman’s son is selected for the training camp at the Lord’s and has a chance to play with none other than Sachin Tendulkar.
The only problem is Sharman is a clerk in the office and does not have the money to send his son to London. So the honest man decides to get his hands dirty for money – by stealing Sachin’s Ferrari for a day. The fun ride begins when he gets in trouble for the million dollar car.
The movie beautifully portrays how, despite being the nation with most opportunities in Cricket, we still miss out on a few gems who simply cannot afford to risk their livelihood to spend money on the game where they might or might not become successful due to the insane competition.
3Soorma
Biopics about Hockey players are a rarity in India. But the story of Sandeep Singh, the former Indian captain, is tailor-made for Bollywood.
Nicknamed Flicker Singh, the penalty corner specialist was accidentally shot in the back in Kalka Shatabdi Express train in 2006. Only 20 at the time of the accident, Sandeep Singh was almost paralyzed and had to spend a year on the wheelchair. The chances of him ever playing Hockey again were very bleak.
But the warrior that he was, Singh returned to the field, became the captain of India and played a crucial role in securing the Olympic qualification for London 2012. The movie brilliantly shows Singh’s determination to return after an injury and efforts he puts in to achieve his goal.
4Apne
Apne is a classic Bollywood Sports movie about the family of boxers. The legendary actor, Dharmendra plays the role of a former boxer, falsely accused of doping. In order to get his reputation back, Dharmendra tries hard to train his both sons to win the championship. And the story of their struggle, hard work, and eventual success is truly remarkable.
Apne shows how a sport can bond the family and how they will put their lives on the line to climb to the top of the mountain.
5Chain Kulii Ki Main Kulii
An example of how sports and comedy can be perfectly mixed in a movie. Chain Kulii Ki Main Kulii is a story of an orphan who finds a ‘Magic Bat’ which helps him get into the struggling Indian cricket team.
The kid goes on to achieve success and fame with his performances. But can he succeed without magic? Was it the bat that had the magic or was it the kid himself? An entertaining movie with a beautiful ending, Chain Kulii Ki Main Kulii, is a must watch even for adults.
6Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar
Although not exactly a Sports movie, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar will always be remembered as the ‘Cycle Racing’ movie. The movie shows the rivalry between two colleges, Rajput College, for rich kids and the Model College, for students from middle-class families.
Aamir Khan plays the role of a happy-go-lucky student who hardly cares about a rivalry. But circumstance make him mature and he decides to make up for it in the marathon Cycle race. The movie takes a proper Bollywood turn in the middle, with subplots about love and relationships, but for a sports fan, this line is all you need to keep yourself motivated:
“Woh sikandar hi dosto kehlata hai, Haari baazi ko jeetna jise aata hai” (Real Champion is the one who can steal the win from the jaws of defeat)
7Azhar
The story of the former Indian cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin’s life was nothing short of a movie itself. And it was eventually made into a biopic in 2016 with Emraan Hashmi playing the role of Azhar.
Azharuddin was the most successful captain of the Indian team before he was banned for life in a match-fixing scandal in 2000. The batsman was also famous for his off-field controversies, especially his affair with former Miss India Sangeeta Bijlani. The movie shows everything from Azhar’s hard work in the early days to his controversies, although with a lot of ‘masala’ in it.
8Budhia Singh – Born to Run
Definitely not the most glamorous and popular sports biopic, this movie is a story of the youngest marathon runner. Budhia Singh of Odisha ran 65 kilometers in seven hours and two minutes in 2006 when he was just five years old. He made it to the Limca Book of world record as the world’s youngest marathon runner. Singh had completed 48 marathons by the time he was only five.
But Singh’s story goes beyond the marathon. His mother sold him to a traveling salesman due to poverty before taking him back and sending him to a local judo coach and an orphanage operator. Singh’s coach, Biranchi Das, played by Manoj Bajpayee in the movie, was murdered in 2008 by a local gangster. But before his death, Das was questioned for his treatment towards Budhia Singh, who had earned fame and money due to his records.
9Saala Khadoos
Yet another gem of a movie, completely ignored by most of the fans. R. Madhavan plays the lead role of a boxer who never made it to the big stage due to dirty politics. But a few years later, he returns to the ring, this time as a coach of the women’s boxing team.
He faces adversities while coaching as well but eventually helps a fish seller, to win the World Boxing Championship. The movie is not far from the reality in India, where women athletes are still facing difficulties in training and partiality in selection.
10Paan Singh Tomar
Paan Singh Tomar was a soldier in the Indian Army, who won the gold medal in the steeplechase at the National Games. In fact, Tomar was the 7-time National champion in the 1950s.
But his life took an ugly turn when he returned to his village after retirement. Bloom’s Taxonomy
It is a set of three hierarchical models used to classify educational learning objectives into levels of complexity and specificity. The three lists cover the learning objectives in cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains.

Remember: It involves remembering facts, specific terms, categories, principles, theories, etc.
Understand: It involves understanding facts and ideas by organizing, summarizing, and giving descriptions.
Apply: It involves solving problems in new situations by applying acquired knowledge and facts.
Analyze: It involves examining and analysis of elements, relationships, and organization.
Evaluate: It involves presenting and defending opinions by making judgments about information.
Create: It involves building a structure or production of communication and plans.
Cognitive Domain
The Affective Domain:
It describes the way people react emotionally and their ability to feel emotions. It is emotion-based. There are five levels: Receiving, Responding, Valuing, Organizing, and Characterizing.
Receiving: The listener pays attention.
Responding: The listener reacts as a response.
Valuing: The listener associates a value to the knowledge acquired.
Organizing: The listener elaborating with their schema.
Characterizing: The listener builds abstract knowledge.
Affective Domain
The Psychomotor Domain
It describes the ability to physically manipulate a tool or instrument like a hand or a hammer. It is action-based.
Psychomotor Domain

His participation in street fights continued until 1959, relocating to San Francisco. Lee’s parents were deeply troubled by his violent behavior, and they wanted to leave Hong Kong for a safe and healthy avenue. After a few months in San Francisco, he moved to Seattle, where he enrolled to complete his further education at Edison Technical School. In the wake of the covid-19 pandemic and frequent lockdown, an Over The Top (OTT) platform has taken over the whole business of theatres and the media industry. Due to this, one noteworthy trend of OTT platforms has changed and compelled the usage of it more innovatively. In the past year, the usage of OTT platforms has increased due to the restrictions on traveling and many other things which led people to seek their entertainment online like never before. The biggest interruption was the accelerated shift of watching content on big screens to small screens. This thing doubled the usage of internet users which led to the increase in subscription of all the OTT platforms. Subscription of top OTTs led to the increment of 55-60 percent. Covid-29 has made it clear about the vital importance to be online and create enormous content to engage with a large amount of audience. As a result, more and more content is being created for the target audience. Netflix, Prime Video, Hotstar among others are the prevailing consumer in the OTT platform. But covid-19 presented these OTTs to many users and opportunities for entry into these platforms.
The emergence of OTT platforms has disrupted the entertainment industry. Although, it does have some positive side and negative side. OTT platforms had made it convenient, affordable, and easily accessible for the watchers to watch their favorite TV shows, movies, etc. Reports say that the average time spends by each Consumer has gone from 20-50 min during this time. With the extension of Lockwood and the current situation, OTT is seeking a new normal. The big players in the film industry might have been discomfort regarding OTT as the new normalcy. But Due to this films have been bearing a great loss, numerous big projects are on hold and the loss they are bearing is almost around INR 30 billion. sell ve gone down due to the effective impact on financial services, socio-economic problems. The launch of series, movies, etc on the DTH and OTT platforms will collect billions of viewers worldwide. The production house will make millions in the first week itself. The cinemas can see the multi-million film release but have to take the risk of minimizing guarantee deals for covering the production cost.
OTT platforms are creating more impact in our daily lives. Disadvantage: 1. The content which is streamed is only available to those who have access to the internet and they are not available to some of the rural areas. 2. Unstable wife connection will be the disadvantage for the user to watch on HD quality stream as it needs proper connection. A proper network will not be an interruption for media content. If you want to watch in HD quality, you must have 2MBPs of internet connection. 3. All OTT platforms need personal confidential information for paying for the subscription except HBO, Netflix, Prime Video, etc. Any cybercrime can happen on such sites. Though the securities are tight they may sometimes weaken the ropes. 4. OTT platforms are on their own, the government doesn’t have any right to put laws and regulations. As they are non-censored and there is no age limitation, it’s free to age limit. It creates an increase in viewership. This is the greatest disadvantage. 5. Users are more likely to Westheimer time on OTT platforms whether it is during classes, school, college’s or while studying, mostly are kids and teenagers. The Jump from one series to another and let them keep busy in that stuff rather than being active and doing something creative.
The film industry went through ups and down due to shifts in the industry when all the Bollywood mainstream were bypassed to OTT releases. This trend will be continuing shortly as this was going to be our future in the next 25 years, then why not now? As people are afraid of going to theatres for a while. As of now, it’s covid-19 time, so it’s OTT’s time. The whole family can sit together and watch it together. All those impacts have a different place and watching together is a different thing because everything has both pros and cons.

Once you’ve developed some creative skills, it’s important to keep on challenging yourself and acquiring new knowledge to inspire you and help you grow. Whether you simply make an effort to read more in your spare time, or look into taking more actual courses, constant learning is vital to boost your creativity.
2. Do what you love
When you actually love your job, you are naturally going to be more inspired and enthusiastic about creative problem solving and coming up with new ideas. A task that you keep putting off is going to be very difficult to approach with a positive, creative attitude.
Find a hobby that lets you be creative that you love to do, such as playing an instrument, painting, or even a sport that completely places you in the present.
3. Take a break
Although creativity is absolutely a skill you can train yourself to be better, it’s important to also not put too much pressure on yourself. If you’ve been sitting at your desk for hours desperately seeking new ideas and solutions and coming up with nothing, take a break.
Get a change of scenery, clear your head, and take your mind off the task at hand: when you come back to it with a fresh set of eyes, you might suddenly find the idea you’ve been waiting for sitting in front of you the entire time!
4. Surround Yourself With Inspiration
Surroundings also play a role in the creative process. Stimulating environments can facilitate creativity, so surrounding yourself with things that you find inspiring and motivating can help.
5. Make time for creativity
Many people make the mistake of simply waiting for inspiration to strike, and therefore don’t see creativity as a skill that can be honed and developed when you need it. Try to re-frame the way you see your creative skills and actually make time for creative thinking.
Creativity is not given to certain few individuals at birth. Most psychologists agree that creativity is equally distributed within the population. The truth is, most people use only a small portion of their natural creative abilities. However, if you implement the above tips, you will definitely notice a considerable improvement in your creative thinking abilities.

Online buying and selling have become important parts of many people’s lives. Virtual stores allow people to shop from the comfort of their homes without the pressure of a salesperson. Online marketplaces provide a new and more convenient venue for exchanging virtually all types of goods and services.
Online shopping is a form of electronic commerce which allows consumers to directly buy goods or services from a seller over the internet using a web browser or a mobile application. Consumers find a product of interest by visiting the website of the retailer directly or by searching among alternative vendors using a shopping search engine, which displays the same product’s availability and pricing at different e-retailers. As of 2020, customers can shop online using a range of different computers and devices, including desktop computers, laptops, tablet computers and smartphones. An online shop evokes the physical analogy of buying products or services at a regular “bricks and mortar retailer or shopping center, the process is called business-to-consumer (B2C) online shopping. When an online store is set up to enable businesses to buy from another businesses, the process is called business-to business (B2B) online shopping. A typical online store enables the customer to browser the firm’s range of products and services, view photos or images of the products, along with information about the product specification’s features and prices. Online stores usually enable shoppers to use “search” features to find specific models, brands or items. Online customers must have access to the internet and a valid method of payment i order to complete a transaction, such as a credit card, an interac-enabled debit card, or a service, such as PayPal.For physical products (for example paperback books or clothes), the e-trailer usually sends the file to the customers over the internet. The largest of these online online retailing corporations are Amazon, and eBay.
How does online buying work
Shopping online is just like heading out to the store. You can often but the same products online as available in a brick-and-mortar store and can sometimes score better sales.
Finding a product-When you shop online, you have to start by searching for a product. This can be done by visiting a store’s website, or of you are not aware of any store that has the particular item you are looking for, or you’d like to compare prices between stores, you can always search for the items with a search engine and compare the results. On major retail website, companies will have pictures, descriptions and prices. If a company or individual does not have the means to create a website, sometimes sites like Amazon and Etsy make it possible for them to display products or build their own online stores for a monthly fee. Many stores also have placed virtual customer service centers on their websites, so you can either call, email, or chat with a live customer service representative if you have questions.
Buying and receiving the product-After selecting product, the website usually has a “checkout” option. When you check out, you are often given a list o shipping and payments options. Shipping options include standard, expedited, or overnight shipping. Depending on the shipping company and your location, standard shipping usually takes seven to twenty one business days, and expedited shipping can take anywhere from two to six business days. There are typically various payments options available.
E-Check-This payment options is just like paying directly from your bank account. If you choose to pay by electronic check, you must enter your routing and account numbers. Once this is done, the amount is taken directly from your bank account.
Credit card-When you pay by credit card, instead of swiping your card as you would at a brick-and mortar store, you type the required credit card information into the provided fields. Required information includes your credit card number, expiration date, type of card and verification/security number, usually the last three digits on the back of the card above the signature.

Ever since he started contributing to the world of cinema, Gulzar’s artistic creations have been a joy to behold. And even though for the world at large his lyrical compositions have been his calling card, cinephiles are aware of how he is also an equally brilliant director.
Throughout his career, Gulzar has gifted Hindi cinema movies that explored a wide array of subjects and presented characters that stayed with us long after the movie was over. But perhaps his true genius as a director lay in the fact that he presented the kind of movies (original and adaptations) which are relevant even today, though the era in which they were created has long gone by:
1. Maachis
This 1996 political drama, starring Tabu, Jimmy Shergill and Chandrachur Singh, attempts to unearth the root cause of terrorism. An extremely moving tale, expertly supported by brilliant performances from all actors, Maachis is a story that is both, personal and political at the same time. Gulzar managed to infuse an emotional depth to each character, while also adding an objective realism to the story that sets it apart from just another tale of ‘misguided youth’.
2. Angoor
Inspired by Shakespeare’s Comedy of Errors, Angoor starred Sanjeev Kumar and Deven Verma in the titular role and is easily one of Bollywood’s finest comedies. Of course, Sanjeev Kumar’s straight-faced dialogue delivery made the suspicious Ashok so much more than just a comic character. But the seemingly simple plot took an altogether refreshing turn under Gulzar’s expert direction.
3. Aandhi
Though widely regarded as just a political drama, Aandhi was actually a romantic tale as well. Starring Sanjeev Kumar and Suchitra Sen in the lead roles, it presented a love story far ahead of its times, where feminism was as central to the theme as political ambitions. It was a brilliantly sensitive take on the duality of approach when it comes to females in political positions. A special mention to the brilliant soundtrack, with lyrics by Gulzar of course.
4. Parichay
When it comes to romantic family dramas, Gulzar’s Parichay – starring Jeetendra and Jaya Bachchan in lead roles – is a classic. A beautiful portrayal of how love and kindness can mend broken families, this was one of the first movies to show a ‘non-macho’ hero. Though inspired by the Bengali novel, Rangeen Uttarain by Raj Kumar Maitra and the Hollywood movie The Sound of Music, Gulzar managed to imbibe his signature sensibility to the movie, making a wholly different and entertaining story.
5. Mere Apne
Gulzar’s directorial debut was a fair indication of his vision as a creator. Starring Meena Kumari, Vinod Khanna, and Shatrughan Sinha in the lead roles, the movie was a remake of the National Award-winning Bengali film Apanjan. But it was Gulzar who eliminated the movie’s formulaic aspects to lend it a more authentic feel.
6. Koshish
Oft considered to be a landmark movie in the world of Indian cinema, Koshishwas a deeply moving tale about a deaf and mute couple’s personal struggle and societal conflicts. Starring Jaya Bachchan and Sanjeev Kumar, the movie was an extremely sensitive take on the plight of differently-abled people and the message it stood for – to make specially-abled people a part of the ‘normal society’ – is still as relevant as ever.
7. Ijaazat
For the longest time, Hindi cinema has had a very unidimensional view of love and marriage. But with Ijaazat, Gulzar brought forth a story that was as revolutionary as it was realistic. The National Award winning movie, starring Rekha, Naseeruddin Shah, and Anuradha Patel, made an attempt to explore ‘grey’ characters, without binding them in a moral compass. And of course, the song Mera Kuch Samaan, is a classic if there ever was.
8. Libaas
Starring Naseeruddin Shah, Raj Babbar, and Shabana Azmi, Libaas was based on Gulzar’s short story Seema and explored the story of a woman sexually frustrated in her marriage and looking for an escape. The movie won international acclaim, and was a refreshing take on adultery, for the time it was created in.
9. Achanak
Inspired by the famous 1958 murder case KM Nanavati v State of Maharashtra, Achanak starred Vinod Khanna in the lead role and won Gulzar a Filmfare nomination for Best Director. The gripping tale is still considered as one of the finest crime dramas. The movie was also noted for having no songs in it.
10. Khushboo
Starring Jeetendra and Hema Malini, Khushboo was the kind of story that stayed with you long after the runtime was over. The movie was praised for itssimple yet effective narrative, where it presented a beautiful story without resorting to dramatic dialogues or excessive fanfare. The quiet dignity with which the characters conducted themselves was a result of both fine performances and well-developed storylines.
11. Namkeen
Starring Sharmila Tagore, Sanjeev Kumar, Shabana Azmi and Waheeda Rehman in the lead roles, this National Film Award-winning movie was a sensitive (and much needed) take on the how women are ‘supposed’ to sacrifice to survive. One of the few films of the time to have an all-female lead, the movie is still relevant, years after it first released.
12. Mausam
Mausam is a prime example of Gulzar’s authentic form of storytelling where false notes rarely, if ever, creep in. Starring Sanjeev Kumar and Sharmila Tagore, the movie was the perfect marriage of a great script and dynamic performances. The heartbreaking story of a man who wishes to improve the life of his former lover’s child is effective in its simplicity, because of Gulzar’s directorial vision.
13. Meera
As the title suggests, the movie is a historical (and not mythological) take on saint Meera’s life. Her devotion to Lord Krishna is renowned and a major source of Hindu folklore. But Gulzar chose her life to express a woman’s struggle for independence and to represent society’s myopic and orthodoxical view of what a woman ‘should’ be like.
14. Kitaab
In Bollywood’s phase of the ‘angry young man’ dramas, Kitaab was a poetic narrative of not only the innocence of childhood but also the harsh realities of an unequal society. The movie failed commercially, prompting Gulzar to wonder if Bollywood no longer had space for his gentle form of storytelling. Yet, years later, Kitaab still remains a favorite of cinephiles for whom the story was – and always will be – the king.
15. Kinara
Starring Jeetendra, Hema Malini, and Dharmendra, this romantic drama unearthed the anguish of love in a beautiful manner, and the feelings it invoked stayed with the viewer long after the credits had rolled. One of the few Bollywood movies to explore symbolism, it’s a directorial gem. Gulzar’s attention to detail and his ability to bring together various elements – story, soundtrack, acting – was on fine display here.
16. Hu Tu Tu
Gulzar’s last directorial venture, Hu Tu Tu was a political drama that saw one of the finest performances by Tabu and Suniel Shetty. Exploring the concept of hate politics, Hu Tu Tu was devoid of the trademark romantic gaze that Gulzar lent to his movies. The brutally honest treatment of corruption and politics may not have gone down well with the audience, but there’s no denying that it was an important story to tell.
These movies are but a small example of Gulzar’s creative genius. Even though after Hu Tu Tu in 1999 he has only contributed to a movie’s soundtrack, one can’t help but wish for his artistic vision to grace the silver screen again.
The concept of time is self-evident. An hour consists of a certain number of minutes, a day of hours and a year of days. But we rarely think about the fundamental nature of time.
Time is passing non-stop, and we follow it with clocks and calendars. Yet we cannot study it with a microscope or experiment with it. And it still keeps passing. We just cannot say what exactly happens when time passes.
Time is familiar to everyone, yet it’s hard to define and understand. Science, philosophy, religion, and the arts have different definitions of time, but the system of measuring it is relatively consistent.
Time Dilation
We know from Einstein’s special and general relativity that time is relative. It depends on the frame of reference of an observer. This can result in time dilation, where the time between events becomes longer (dilated) the closer one travels to the speed of light. Moving clocks run more slowly than stationary clocks, with the effect becoming more pronounced as the moving clock approaches light speed. Clocks in jets or in orbit record time more slowly than those on Earth, muon particles decay more slowly when falling, and the Michelson-Morley experiment confirmed length contraction and time dilation.
Time Travel
Time travel means moving forward or backward to different points in time, much like you might move between different points in space. Jumping forward in time occurs in nature. Astronauts on the International Space Station jump forward in time when they return to Earth because of its slower movement relative to the station.
The idea of traveling back in time, however, poses problems. One issue is causality or cause and effect. Moving back in time could cause a temporal paradox. The “grandfather paradox” is a classic example. According to the paradox, if you travel back in time and kill your grandfather before your mother or father was born, you could prevent your own birth. Many physicists believe time travel to the past is impossible, but there are solutions to a temporal paradox, such as traveling between parallel universes or branch points.
Time Perception
The human brain is equipped to track time. The suprachiasmatic nuclei of the brain is the region responsible for daily or circadian rhythms. But neurotransmitters and drugs affect time perceptions. Chemicals that excite neurons so they fire more quickly than normal speed up time, while decreased neuron firing slows down time perception. Basically, when time seems to speed up, the brain distinguishes more events within an interval. In this respect, time truly does seem to fly when one is having fun.
Time seems to slow down during emergencies or danger. Scientists at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston say the brain doesn’t actually speed up, but the amygdala becomes more active. The amygdala is the region of the brain that makes memories. As more memories form, time seems drawn out.
The same phenomenon explains why older people seem to perceive time as moving faster than when they were younger. Psychologists believe the brain forms more memories of new experiences than that of familiar ones. Since fewer new memories are built later in life, time seems to pass more quickly.
The Beginning and End of Time
As far as the universe is concerned, time had a beginning. The starting point was 13.799 billion years ago when the Big Bang occurred. We can measure cosmic background radiation as microwaves from the Big Bang, but there isn’t any radiation with earlier origins. One argument for the origin of time is that if it extended backward infinitely, the night sky would be filled with light from older stars.
Will time end? The answer to this question is unknown. If the universe expands forever, time would continue. If a new Big Bang occurs, our time line would end and a new one would begin. In particle physics experiments, random particles arise from a vacuum, so it doesn’t seem likely the universe would become static or timeless. Only time will tell.
As a fresher, when you step outside and have no idea, how to prepare and how to prepare for Interviews, Then this article is for you.
I am 24 years old, working with an NGO, still a fresher, but I have fought a lot to get off-campus placement. So I will tell you some basic steps as a fresher, how you should proceed to prepare for the interviews. I am assuming, you know the basic tips before your job interview
Be Confident
Be confident, you have prepared well and this should show in your confidence level in the interview.
Try to appear your best at the Interview
Your appearance should convey that you have taken the interview seriously. Do not try to turn up in the interview in a manner that does not suit you. Some basics in grooming will help.
a. Well Groomed Hair b. Well Pressed Shirt c. Polished Shoes
Know about the company/organization
You should learn as much as you can about the company. A good place to start is the company’s website. If you have been referred through a friend also have a frank discussion with him or her. Also, do a google search on the company to understand what others are saying about the company.
Be prepared with questions for the Interviewer
Most interviewers will give you a chance to ask questions. Use this opportunity to show your knowledge and interest in the company. Also this is a good opportunity to clear any doubts that you have.
Address the Interviewer politely
It is always polite to refer to the Interviewer as SIR or Ma’am. You can also address them their Surname (Mr. XXX or Mrs. XXX). Do not use terms such as Honey, Girl, Dude, Yaar etc.
Do not be argumentative
Present your viewpoint and be professional. If you do not agree with something the Interviewer has said do not spurn it as invalid. Learn to understand their point of view even if it clashed with your own. This does not mean that you need to accept their point of view.
Answer clearly and directly
Spell out your ideas as clearly as you can. Also try to substantiate your ideas with examples. Don’t be overly wordy and try to keep your answers to the point. Do not try to deviate too much from the question.
Experience is not what happens to a man. It is what a man does with what happens to him
When you’re preparing for an interview, you’re probably thinking about the difficult questions you’ll be asked, the thorough solutions you’ll provide, and the professional-yet-slightly-witty tales you’ll relate. After all, that’s what the interview is all about and what will (hopefully) land you a quick offer letter. But, before you even get a chance to offer those well-thought-out responses, all eyes will be on you, assessing your suitability for the position and the firm. The pressure is on from the moment you walk in the door: you have to make a great first impression.
Check out these eight recommendations before your next interview to ensure you’re presenting yourself in the best light and putting yourself up for the most successful interview possible.
1. Arrive on time
“If you’re early, you’re on time; if you’re on time, you’re late,” you’ve heard a million times. Punctuality should come as second nature, especially when your dream job is on the line. But, no matter how many times you’ve heard it, it bears repeating: arrive on time. Are you running late? Please contact your interviewers as soon as feasible. They’ll appreciate it a lot more than if you come up with a stupid reason after they’ve already waited 30 minutes.
2. Put on the Props
Although your appearance is unlikely to influence the interviewer’s final judgment, it can influence how you’re seen at first. You’ll come across as professional and well-put-together if you arrive in a freshly pressed suit and scuff-free shoes with a portfolio in hand. If, on the other hand, you’re dressed a few notches more casually than the rest of the workplace, juggling your briefcase, purse, umbrella, and stack of resumes, you’re unlikely to radiate the same level of professionalism.
3. Only bring what you absolutely need.
You may need a coffee boost to be ready for your upcoming meeting, but don’t carry your paper cup into the workplace to finish the last few drops. Sure, it may not seem like a big deal after all, who doesn’t drink coffee at work? but you don’t want your first interaction with a potential employer.
4. Put Your Phone in a Safe Place
It’s natural to reach for your phone whenever you have to wait: in line at the grocery store, during commercials, while waiting for your Diet Coke to be dispensed from the vending machine you get the picture. However, if you’re waiting in the lobby, don’t just reach for your phone. Instead, use that time to review your CV and consider what you want to say during the interview.
5.Display your zeal.
Demonstrate your enthusiasm for what you do and what you want to do in your future position. It’s a good idea to tell the interviewer that you enjoy your job and are looking forward to this opportunity.
6.Demonstrate how you’re a good fit for the job.
Facts to back up your passion. It’s not enough to say that you’re qualified for the job. Show the employer why and how you’re qualified by being explicit.
7.Don’t be alarmed.
Even if you’ve done all of the necessary preparation, an unexpected interview question can catch you off guard. Prepare for the worst-case scenario so that you can remain calm in the face of adversity.
8.Tell us a story or two.
Don’t just list your credentials. Instead, utilize your narrative abilities to demonstrate what you’ve accomplished at work. Nothing beats a true story to pique your interviewer’s interest and demonstrate your abilities.

Are you one of those people who love reading paper books instead of ebooks simply because you love the smell of books? Does the smell of rain falling on dry soil make you more relaxed in comparison to the smell of an essential oil or perfume? Does RD Burman’s music make you happy in a way no one else can? Amar Bose, the brilliant mind behind the formation of the Bose Corporation, a brand synonymous with exceptional excellence in the domains of acoustics and sound systems, was a forerunner of his time. He was born and reared in the United States, and he began demonstrating his sharp mind and business abilities at a young age. He was fascinated by electronics since he was a boy, and he spent hours disassembling and repairing radio sets. He had no idea how useful his abilities would be throughout the conflict! During World War II, while his father’s business was struggling, young Amar offered to assist him with his own business enterprise. He repaired radios every day after school and contributed to his family’s income. Recognizing his son’s abilities, his father, despite his lack of financial means, arranged for him to attend the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He began his work as a teacher and has always had a passion for study. He eventually founded the Bose Corporation, which went on to become a pioneer in speaker technology and psychoacoustics. Despite the fact that his primary goal was never to generate money, his company did exceptionally well, and he was ranked among the world’s wealthiest individuals in 2007.
Childhood and Adolescence
Amar Bose was born in Pennsylvania to a Bengali father and an American mother. Noni Gopal Bose, his father, was an Indian independence fighter who was frequently imprisoned for his political activities, prompting him to flee to the United States. Charlotte, his mother, was a schoolteacher with French and German descent. He attended and graduated from Abington Senior High School. He had a fascination with electronics since he was a child, and he liked to disassemble and study radio sets. Due to shipping constraints, his father’s business of importing coconut-fiber doormats from India became difficult during WWII. Amar proposed that they open a radio repair shop, and he spent his after-school hours repairing radios and boosting the family’s income. His father, impressed by his young son’s abilities, chose to send him to the greatest college in the country, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). In 1947, his father took out a $10,000 loan to send his son to MIT. He intended to study at MIT for two years, but ended up remaining for nine, during which time he earned his BS and then went on to obtain his PhD in Electrical Engineering for his thesis on nonlinear systems.
Career
A lover of classical music, he bought an expensive stereo system which was theoretically supposed to produce high quality sound. However on using it he found that it produced very inferior sound, a realization that motivated him to research on the topic. Upon his graduation he became an Assistant Professor in MIT though he was equally interested in research. He went on teach at MIT for 45 years. During the early 1960s, he invented a new type of stereo speaker which made use of multiple smaller speakers. His PhD mentor at the MIT, Dr. Y. W. Lee motivated him to pursue long term research in acoustics. Thus in 1964, he founded his own company, the Bose Corporation that specialized Career He acquired a costly stereo system, which was allegedly meant to generate excellent quality sound, because he was a classical music fan. However, after utilising it, he discovered that it produced poor sound, prompting him to conduct further research. He became an Assistant Professor at MIT after graduation, despite his passion in research. He went on to teach for 45 years at MIT. He designed a new sort of stereo speaker in the early 1960s that used numerous smaller speakers. Dr. Y. W. Lee, his PhD advisor at MIT, encouraged him to undertake long-term acoustic research. As a result, in 1964, he formed the Bose Corporation, a corporation that specialised in audio. Bose aimed to develop the next generation of speakers. He invented the 901 Direct/Reflecting speaker system in 1968, which helped him become the market leader in audio components. He continued his groundbreaking work in this field by developing the Bose Wave radio and Bose noise-cancelling headphones. These ideas were so successful that pilots from both the military and the commercial sector embraced them. Bose was committed to research and developed software that allowed acoustic engineers to recreate sound from each seat in a large hall. This was utilised in the Staples Center in Los Angeles, the Sistine Chapel, and several other places. Despite the fact that Bose was more concerned with changing acoustics and speaker systems than with making money, his company prospered due to the high quality items it developed. Automobile manufacturers such as Mercedes and Porsche began integrating Bose audio systems in their vehicles in the 1980s. Until 2001, he was a professor at MIT, where he used unusual teaching methods to engage his pupils. In 2011, he gave MIT the bulk of his company’s non-voting shares under the condition that they never be sold.
Achievements & Awards
For his “exceptional contributions to consumer electronics in sound reproduction, industry leadership, and engineering education,” he received the IEEE/RSE Wolfson James Clerk Maxwell Award in 2010. In 2014, the Association of Loudspeaker Manufacturing & Acoustics International presented him with the Beryllium Lifetime Achievement Award, which he received posthumously.
In 2018, a year after the alleged genocide of Rohingya Muslims, Aung San Suu Kyi could not stop praising the military rulers in her cabinet. At that time she was defending them at every step, while most of the world were criticising the military action against the minority Rohingya Muslims.
Now three years later, when she is once again under house arrest and the main victim of this coup, her decision to defend the army appears to be ‘a bad decision’. It is difficult whether Suu Kyi then defended the army for personal, political or patriotic reasons. But her supporters will tell you that she was in difficult situation and it was difficult for her to go against the current.
While her critics say that she could have said at least two words to share the pain of Rohingya Muslims at that time. Well, whatever it is now, the prospects of a democratic Myanmar are scare at the moment.
Suu Kyi’s image is believed to have tarnished, but she still has huge fans in Myanmar and her popularity cannot be understated. In the recently held elections, Suu Kyi’s National League for Democracy party won over 80 percent of the vote. This was his big victory. Even today, Suu Kyi’s posters, paintings and calendars that you see everywhere when you walk through the street of Yangon city point to the popularity of ‘Mother Suu Kyi’.
However, now there is noise of protesters in these streets. They are registering their protest by playing utensils and they want Suu Kyi to be released. Traditionally in Myanmar, it is customary to play utensils ‘ to drive away ghosts(evil spirits)’. People are writing on social media that ‘they are now playing utensils to drive away the army, so that Aung San Suu Kyi can be free’.
Wai Nu, a social activist working for the rights of Rohingya Muslims, posted a video of the streets of Yangon on social media, with her writing that “it is very painful to watch”.
“In this footage, a picture that caught my attention was a symbol of Myanmar’s violent and tragic history. The photo flashed by smartphone lights was of General Aung San, the father of Aung San Suu Kyi, who is still talked about in Myanmar to this fay. Spoken with respect. He was assassinated before he got independence from British rule. His popularity was very high then.
He was also the founder of the modern Burmese Army, also known as Tatmadaw. The same army has now taken his daughter captive and once again snatched her freedom.
People believe that the earlier movements in Myanmar – whether it was the 1988 and 2007 movements – were all forgot on the ground. But this time the fight has to be online. Facebook is said to be the most important platform in this which is used the most in Myanmar. Facebook is the main medium for sharing news and perspectives in Myanmar. This is the reason why Myanmar’s military first banned Facebook after the coup.

Many colleges of India made 75% attendance per subject in every semester compulsory for students as a criteria for eligibility to appear for exams and still require at least 50% attendance per subject (during online classes).
Mandatory attendance in college has always been a highly debated topic among students. Many students want freedom to choose which classes to attend, while college authorities insist students must attend classes and maintain a basic discipline.
The attendance rules are very strictly implemented.
Students are sometimes not allowed to give exams because of lack of attendance. If not that, then internal marks are affected.
Parents support this wholeheartedly because there is a preconceived notion that quality of a child’s education is directly proportional to the number of classes, he/she attends. And this is not true, we know it.
The problem
The problem arises when you see the actual consequence of this rule. Students do attend more classes, but only because of fear. The actual passion for studying in class is lost. Anything which is forced upon someone will lose its charm. Students don’t come to college because they want to; they come to college because they have to.
The question arises if this rule is really necessary and whether attending classes is really that important in colleges. Let’s see –
THE PROS OF MANDATORY ATTENDANCE
It does affect grades
An hour or a half or a lecture could be helpful no matter how much we try to oppose it. The knowledge that the professors impart to the students, the tricks and day to day examples shared by the professors are always a big boon while preparing for the exams. Not 100%, but at least 50% of what the professors teach can be easily understood by the students if given proper attention.
A responsibility
Education in the colleges is not imparted for free. Parents work hard day and night to pay the five figure fees of the college, because they want to give the best there can be for their children. Ruining their efforts by simply bunking lectures is not a way to pay back. It is extremely important to be responsible and attend lectures to keep in track with the study pattern and the important notes that are delivered out in the process.
A matter of discipline
It’s not that the attendance issue is going to be there forever. It is just a matter of 3 or 4 years where the parents invest a lot for their child. There will no longer be classes and teachers to guide along, once the college is over. This is the part of life that comes with the package of being in college and one must learn to live it. Students learn self-discipline due to mandatory attendance, which will help them in their professional as well as personal life.
Socialization
Good attendance is needed to develop a strong sense of community in a classroom and to encourage a healthy sense of class participation. In the process of learning how to balance all their responsibilities, students could become better at multi-tasking as well.
THE CONS OF MANDATORY ATTENDANCE
Earn and Learn
Unnecessary excuse as this may sound to the professors yet it is true that not all students are born with that silver spoon that could pay for the college and other expenses. There are some students in the society that need to work along with attending the college to fight the financial problems of the family. For such students, the mandatory attendance rule becomes difficult to follow. Having a desire to earn for the family and also educated oneself is a very great thought, but remains unsupported due to this rule.
Teaching method
The main reason for this issue is the scarcity of quality teachers in colleges these days. If a faculty is not good, no one will pay attention even if all the students are forced to attend all the lectures.
On the other hand, if a faculty is good then all the students will voluntarily come to the class even if it’s an extra lecture or an optional paper. Contrary to popular opinion, students like to study. They want to learn new things. Students are curious.
When a student is forced to attend a lecture, which is given by an incompetent or even a boring lecturer, then the curiosity in him/her dies. It breeds incompetence as faculties are not worried about the number of students attending their class. They can teach in whatever manner they want to and get away with it.
Grown ups
By the time students pass out high school, they are grown up and responsible enough to understand what they require from life. As college students and as adults, students should have the right to prioritize their time based on their needs.
If Students are mature enough to elect the country’s government, surely, they can decide what lectures to attend and what lectures to bunk.
No time for extra-curricular activities
The mandatory attendance scheme leaves no time for the students to develop their personalities as individuals. These extra-curricular activities, tech-fests and inter-college competitions are the ways one could gain a good exposure to the real world. Students learn how to deal with different people.
The old syllabus
The syllabus taught in most of the colleges is very old and has almost 0 practical approach. What makes it boring for the students is the theoretical aspect of education. Listening to one particular person for 60minutes continuously, about some very old technology becomes tedious. College curriculum is hardly providing the skills that are required to get employed.
CONCLUSION
A choice, not an obligation
Attending college should be a choice and not an obligation. Just attending the lectures for attendance and causing disturbance to the others paying attention is of no use. Those who are interested to learn new things will of course attend the lecture, no matter what percentage of attendance is mandatory.
Practical approach
The syllabus should be designed in such a way that the latest technologies must be also included in it. There should be a practical and interactive approach to impart the knowledge that would make it interesting for the students to study. Also, the lecture time must be reduced because it is not possible for a human being to concentrate on one particular topic for 60 continuous minutes.
Thus, every coin has two sides. While implementing strict rules regarding attendance could be a way to ensure that students attend the classes and are being evaluated on a regular basis, this could also become troublesome for students. In order to achieve a balance, the implementation of attendance should have relaxations within it for such situations where students are unable to attend the classes regularly due to genuine reasons. Students should have the right to choose which lecture they want to attend and which not. The teaching quality and the syllabus should also be improved, because education is the root cause for a country’s development and it has to always be the best!
