Privacy: A Company’s best product.

All Apps Are free But end user is their product.

We all use social media apps very often to not care about our privacy and share our sensitive information on the internet. The product for these companies by which they earn a profit, not small but huge the amount varies between Billions of Dollars the Big Tech Giants, such as Google, Facebook, Instagram, Amazon, etc. Take every bit of information which we browse on the internet. It uses search history, Browsing history, Gmail details, contact details, etc. All these types of information are collected and sold by these forms to every site or who wants this information to promote their product to their targeted audience.

If we carefully observe that, while browsing on the internet when we open a particular website, we all see the advertisements related to our previous search history. The system is this much integrated that even if sometimes, using a VPN is not enough to protect our data from these companies. Sometimes we can consider that they are taking our data for some important purposes. Still, nowadays, as hacking is very often, sensitive data from companies like Facebook is leaked or getting hacked every few days.

As revealed by a slew of whistleblowers, the global surveillance infrastructure and the potential weaponisation of data has created a perverse atmosphere where Privacy is just a figment of the imagination. Countries like China keep an eye on their every movement on the internet. In China, their citizens are not allowed to talk against their government, and the internet is also under the control of China.

Nowadays, Privacy is just treated as a joke. Where some companies are trying to protect the privacy of their users, for example, Apple. In Apple, the user’s data is treated as their priority, where all the information is kept encrypted.

Investment in top b- school

Maybe, but obviously there’s no way for any of us to tell with literally no information to go on.

If you’re in your mid- to late-20s (or a little older) and are looking to change career then it might be a good idea. If your career development expects it, as some roles in consulting and finance do, then it might be a good idea. If you feel that you want to start and run your own business but don’t have the skills, confidence, mindset or network to do it then it might be good idea. It’s hard to suggest more than it “might” be a good idea because there are legitimate reasons why it might not be, even under those circumstances.

If you don’t want to take a year (or two) off from your career, or having an MBA wouldn’t really help with your career, or you really don’t like academia, or you don’t have the credentials to get into a decent school, or you have a great job that you love already then it could be better not to go.

Business school is time-consuming and costly. The opportunity cost of going is large (for me, something like $250k and that was more than a decade ago). And you only get to do it once – it can be a great way to switch careers without taking a backward step but once you’ve taken that step you don’t get to take it again if you’re unhappy with where you ended up. It’s not for everyone and even people for whom it is a suitable it’s a serious decision that deserves a lot of thought and consideration of the implications. Especially financially.

And don’t forget to factor in the uncertainty. When I graduated in 2005 the world looked great and the opportunities were abundant. 2 years later I was talking to people who were trying to get into finance and struggling because the downturn had begun. By 2008/9 people who’d gone to my school hoping to snap up a job a big investment bank were just grateful if they could get back in to their previous jobs at their previous levels. It doesn’t always work out the way you want it to.

So have a good think about it. Don’t rush into it. Speak to people who are where you want to be. Consider your finances. And then make a decision. There’s no universal right answer here.

The complex paradigm of streams.

“Now what?”This question every student encounter in life after completing school. A career plan is the most significant and difficult question of life. Our whole life depends on this small question. Sometimes we choose our path and sometimes our society decides for us.

The question  โ€œWhat do I want to do in life?โ€ is hard to answer.

It is tough for a school student to find their path at such a young age, because of the complicated model of โ€˜streamsโ€™. Studying science means you are limited to the medical and the engineering line. Studying commerce means being captured in chartered accountancy, banking, and finance and learning humanities imply that I must choose to become a lawyer or journalist.

The problem is the high competition within society The tragic fact is that we can never come back from this model of education, studies, and streams. we don’t have the right to choose subjects that are a combination of different streams. The reason streams are a challenge for us is that they directly affect our careers. Choosing a career is choosing life. As a career is related to financial independence. The question became more significant. every parent expects from there child to pursue a career that has the reputation, high earning prospect, and quite popular in society. Boys, in particular, are supposed to choose a career that can support their families financially one day. Today passion and happiness don’t matter when it comes to a career. The thing that matters for society is the reputation of the career. For society, boys should not go for teaching jobs, fashion designing and cooking are something that society doesn’t consider ideal jobs. some jobs are called โ€˜feminine jobsโ€™ not meant for boys. Like cooking is related to females. Some jobs get undermined like fashion designing is compared to tailoring.

Students’ choices are also impacted badly by the stereotypes and repercussions. and they have to choose paths unwillingly as per society’s concern. Even though we are heading towards an impartial society, such differences prevail in our society. The โ€˜pay scaleโ€™ affects the choice of career. Women are still paid less and the gender pay gap continues to widen.

Lack of awareness of new opportunities is a major challenge that school students face. We are not aware of the options beyond the โ€˜visible careersโ€™. Visible careers are those careers that we see in everyday life, such as doctors, teachers, engineers, journalists, politicians, and businessmen. We lack knowledge about other options we have. There is a world beyond these visible careers: such as being a therapist, an urban planner, a singer, a beautician, a blogger.

so many jobs are available now because of the internet. such jobs can provide a great opportunity to the newcomer. Like social media marketing, a YouTuber, a blogger, a digital marketer. But the problem is students don’t have access to and knowledge of this career.

Your career should be based on your strengths. The best choice of career comes from oneโ€™s passions and hobbies. Your career should inspire you and be the reason for your existence. It is you who can decide your career, not others. and being yourself and the following passion makes you happier.

How cell phone works

How Do Cell Phones Work?

With worldwide mobile subscriptions estimated to be around 7 billion in 2014, cell phones have become a universal and indispensable tool for modern life. With a cell phone, you can talk to anybody on the planet from almost anywhere. But do you really know how your cell phone works?

In the most basic form, a cell phone is essentially a two-way radio, consisting of a radio transmitter and a radio receiver. When you chat with your friend on your cell phone, your phone converts your voice into an electrical signal, which is then transmitted via radio waves to the nearest cell tower. The network of cell towers then relays the radio wave to your friendโ€™s cell phone, which converts it to an electrical signal and then back to sound again. In the basic form, a cell phone works just like a walkie-talkie.

In additional to the basic function of voice calls, most modern cell phones come with additional functions such as web surfing, taking pictures, playing games, sending text messages and playing music. More sophisticated smart phones can perform similar functions of a portable computer.

Radio Waves

radio waves

Cell phones use radio waves to communicate. Radio waves transport digitized voice or data in the form of oscillating electric and magnetic fields, called the electromagnetic field (EMF). The rate of oscillation is called frequency. Radio waves carry the information and travel in air at the speed of light.

Cell phones transmit radio waves in all directions. The waves can be absorbed and reflected by surrounding objects before they reach the nearest cell tower. For example, when the phone is placed next to your head during a call, a significant portion (over half in many cases) of the emitted energy is absorbed into your head and body. In this event, much of the cell phoneโ€™s EMF energy is wasted and no longer available for communication.

Antenna

Cellular antenna

Cell phones contain at least one radio antenna in order to transmit or receive radio signals. An antenna converts an electric signal to the radio wave (transmitter) and vice versa (receiver). Some cell phones use one antenna as the transmitter and receiver while others, such as the iPhone 5, have multiple transmitting or receiving antennas.

An antenna is a metallic element (such as copper) engineered to be a specific size and shape for transmitting and receiving specific frequencies of radio waves. While older generation cell phones have external or extractable antennas, modern cell phones contain more compact antennas inside the device thanks to advanced antenna technologies. Itโ€™s important to understand that any metallic components in the device (such as the circuit board and the metal frame for the iPhone) can interact with the transmission antenna(s) and contribute to the pattern of the transmitted signal.

Many modern smart phones also contain more than one type of antenna. In addition to the cellular antenna, they may also have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and/or GPS antennas.

Connectivity

connectvity

As mentioned earlier, a cell phone is a two-way wireless communication device and needs both the inbound signal (reception) and the outbound signal (transmission) to work. The magnitude of the received signal from the cell tower is called the โ€œsignal strengthโ€, which is commonly indicated by the โ€œbarsโ€ on your phone. The connectivity between a cell phone and its cellular network depends on both signals and is affected by many factors, such as the distance between the phone and the nearest cell tower, the number of impediments between them and the wireless technology (e.g. GSM vs. CDMA). A poor reception (fewer bars) normally indicates a long distance and/or much signal interruption between the cell phone and the cell tower.

In order to conserve battery life, a cell phone will vary the strength of its transmitted signal and use only the minimum necessary to communicate with the nearest cell tower. When your cell phone has poor connectivity, it transmits a stronger signal in order to connect to the tower, and as a result your battery drains faster. Thatโ€™s why good connectivity not only reduces dropped calls, but also saves battery life.

Covid-19: A Bio War Or A Pandemic

Coronavirus An Artificial virus Or Naturally Modified Virus.

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is 115033548_gettyimages-1226314512.jpg

This pandemic firstly started in Wuhan, China. The first patient was diagnosed positive with the virus in December of 2019. It is considered that the virus was leaked from the research facility situated in Wuhan, China. Some people say that China was working on this virus for the last 3-4 years until they reached their specific goal; the virus was modified to attack the respiratory system of a being and then affect the lungs to produce excessive cough by which the breathing of a particular being could be challenging. It was contagious, which means it can spread quickly by talking, by air, by coming in contact with another human, and many more.

After few days, the virus spread rapidly amongst the citizens of China and later the whole world. If it is a secret bio-war? Started by china to establish their dominance over the globe to conquer or show their power to the world, these are not going signs because it may begin the cold war between China and the rest of the countries. Because in China, the possible Covid positive patients were ever recorded are 90,000 only from which the 80% are already recovered as per their sources. Then why the rest of the world is still facing this pandemic that came from this country. Suppose it was accidentally released from the lab, then why they are still hiding the sources of the origin of the virus.

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is article-pandemicthreats-l.png

If this virus was created by mother nature to protect herself and warn humans to stop their activities, such as excessive use of resources, another thing could destroy their own. If it is possibly true, then why it started only in china? Why not in any other country or place. Where there is perhaps the most destructive of natural resources, also as per rumors, it is considered that when some people were eating bat, then the virus was transmitted from this dead animal, after this, the virus self mutated itself to be compatible as per human body. And still, the virus is mutating and making itself more critical day by day.

In the end, whatever may be the cause of this pandemic, I would like to tell you that take care of yourself with your family.

Internal Combustion Engine

An internal combustion engine (ICE) is a heat engine in which the combustion of a fuel occurs with an oxidizer (usually air) in a combustion chamber that is an integral part of the working fluid flow circuit. In an internal combustion engine, the expansion of the high-temperature and high-pressure gases produced by combustion applies direct force to some component of the engine. The force is applied typically to pistons, turbine blades, a rotor, or a nozzle. This force moves the component over a distance, transforming chemical energy into useful work. This replaced the external combustion engine for applications where weight or size of the engine is important.

The first commercially successful internal combustion engine was created by ร‰tienne Lenoir around 1860 and the first modern internal combustion engine was created in 1876 by Nicolaus Otto (see Otto engine). The term internal combustion engine usually refers to an engine in which combustion is intermittent, such as the more familiar four-stroke and two-stroke piston engines, along with variants, such as the six-stroke piston engine and the Wankel rotary engine. A second class of internal combustion engines use continuous combustion: gas turbines, jet engines and most rocket engines, each of which are internal combustion engines on the same principle as previously described. Firearms are also a form of internal combustion engine, though of a type so specialized that they are commonly treated as a separate category. In contrast, in external combustion engines, such as steam or Stirling engines, energy is delivered to a working fluid not consisting of, mixed with, or contaminated by combustion products. Working fluids for external combustion engines include air, hot water, pressurized water or even liquid sodium, heated in a boiler.ICEs are usually powered by energy-dense fuels such as gasoline or diesel fuel, liquids derived from fossil fuels. While there are many stationary applications, most ICEs are used in mobile applications and are the dominant power supply for vehicles such as cars, aircraft and boats.ICEs are typically powered by fossil fuels like natural gas or petroleum products such as gasoline, diesel fuel or fuel oil. Renewable fuels like biodiesel are used in compression ignition (CI) engines and bioethanol or ETBE (ethyl tert-butyl ether) produced from bioethanol in spark ignition (SI) engines. Renewable fuels are commonly blended with fossil fuels. Hydrogen, which is rarely used, can be obtained from either fossil fuels or renewable energy.

Traditional education system how much effective?

Covid Pandemic left many Indians unemployed. While unemployment has always been a cause of attention for India. But mandatory experience and training made it more worse and challenging. the lack of practical skills holds us back. The recent unemployment numbers among educated youth show the drawback of Indiaโ€™s faulty education system and the lack of the right learning opportunities for young professionals.

The government of India wanted to create a workforce of skilled professionals but the coronavirus pandemic made the situation drastic and critical. There was a time when a degree could help a person getting a desired job. But with more competition., a degree is not sufficient itself. The biggest issue is practical knowledge with theoretical knowledge. Classroom learning is more focused on theory. When students step into the professional world, they find themselves not capable enough to handle the work because of the drawbacks of our education system. Our country has educated unemployed people. Shows the inadequacies in our education system.

companies want educated fellows with practical skills. That our education system is unable to give. Because it is limited to academics. Youth lack new-age skills that companies need from their employees. With limited online and offline courses for industry-specific training such as engineering, IT, etc., Most young professionals lack confidence while dealing with problems at their workplace. Moreover, since schools, colleges and universities are following the traditional system of education. it acts as a hurdle when professionals come to face real-life circumstances.

Students need to develop new skills. So that student can learn something above education and makes students ready to be professionals. India has the potential to be a preferred destination for global sourcing. Skill development can bring this to reality by instilling more confidence in young professionals. As their skill increases their employability will increase, and ultimately lead to the nationโ€™s financial growth.

The government needs to assist Indiaโ€™s workforce informally trained. With immediate competition, we need to adopt better strategies too. we need to improve standards of education and adopt newer methods. The higher the standards of training and skill development, the better our workforce can be. The country National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) can also contribute to solving the problem by creating more awareness and come up with suitable programs that can help professionals.

Transformation can only come with the government. The education system, industries, and students collectively understand and recognized the significance of skill improvement.

9 Reasons the Crypto Market Is Down

1. Making money in the crypto market is less straight forward than it used to be.Early cryptocurrency adopters either capitalized on ICOs (Initial Coin Offerings) by getting in early and getting out, mining and holding cryptocurrency for long periods of time or by day trading. In todayโ€™s investment climate, none of these approaches are sure to make you a fortune. Bitcoin mining has become more difficult and more competitive, meaning that the hash rate required to mine isnโ€™t always worth the electricity bill. The SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) has turned its attention toward prosecuting fraudulent ICOs and crafting regulations. Across the board, ICOs have received criticism for serving as a means of fundraising without giving investors anything significant in return. Of course, there are also a lot of legitimate ICOs, though these receive less media attention. And day trading is much more difficult in a bear market, especially one as unpredictable as the one weโ€™re currently in.This isnโ€™t to say that there isnโ€™t another wave of opportunity coming to cryptocurrency, blockchain technology and innovative applications of both — think cannabis cryptocurrency. Crypto just needs another round of innovation for investors to make money.

2. SEC regulations have stalled. We havenโ€™t seen another crypto market boom largely due to regulatory uncertainty. The SEC is increasingly regulating crypto, but so far, itโ€™s been a slow process. In 2018, the SEC fined a cryptocurrency exchange and companies that launched ICOs by misrepresenting security tokens as utility tokens, two types of cryptocurrency with important legal distinctions. To date, the SEC has also denied nine Bitcoin ETFs (Exchange Traded Funds) and delayed reviewing a tenth. This has had a negative effect on the crypto market since the summer of 2018.Legalizing cryptocurrency ETFs would allow institutions and individuals to invest in cryptocurrency without buying coins or tokens. By mitigating risk in this way, ETFs would mean large scale investment and more stability.

3. Many view cryptocurrency as a short-term investment.Though institutional investing in cryptocurrency is growing, most investors are millennials who view crypto as a short term investment. Unlike other asset classes, people do not typically include cryptocurrency in their retirement plans.Instead, crypto investors tend to want a quick return, meaning that they go short rather than long. When everyone is trying to get in and out, the market becomes volatile.Related: Why Entrepreneurs Shouldn’t Panic About the Bitcoin Slump

4. Market manipulation is widespread. One way for crypto investors to turn a profit is through “pump and dump” schemes. This is cryptocurrency slang for inflating a cryptocurrencyโ€™s value only to sell it off at its peak.Pump and dumps are relatively easy to accomplish, especially with smaller market cap cryptocurrencies, because exchanges have different levels of liquidity, which impacts how they price their crypto.Cryptocurrency is, by definition, decentralized, meaning that no centralized entity like a bank or government controls it. As a result, supply and demand determine its price, and supply differs widely between exchanges. If someone buys a lot of one crypto on a smaller exchange, investors on other exchanges will notice and buy the same crypto, triggering a market-wide price increase.Larger market cap cryptocurrencies are not immune to this type of manipulation, either. For example, Bitcoin (BTC) is currently worth five dollars more on Bittrex than on Coinbase Pro, two large exchanges.

5. The Department of Justice is investigating Tether (USDT).The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) is investigating Bitcoinโ€™s meteoric price rise in late 2017. According to some sources, Bitcoinโ€™s price rose to nearly $20,000 due to manipulation on the cryptocurrency exchange Bitfinex.Bitfinex issues the stablecoin Tether (USDT). Researchers at the University of Texas found that every time Bitcoinโ€™s price began to decrease, Tether had been used to buy Bitcoin on various exchanges. Now, the DOJ and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) are involved. Tether, Ltd., has also been accused of not having the funds to support its 1 to 1 USDT to USD ratio that it claims to have. The uncertainty surrounding whether Tether is actually a stablecoin and Bitcoinโ€™s bull run have negatively affected investor confidence in the crypto market.

6. Risk diversification isnโ€™t yet possible. When confronted with possible manipulation and market volatility, investors typically diversify their assets. Theoretically, this could mean investing in Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) and higher risk ICOs or altcoins. But in the crypto market, diversification doesnโ€™t work the way investors want it to. More than 50 percent of the cryptocurrency market cap is Bitcoin alone. This is because most trading occurs between BTC and altcoins since you cannot convert fiat, meaning government-backed currency like the USD, directly into most cryptocurrencies. So when Bitcoinโ€™s price falters, investors tend to convert their cryptocurrencies into stablecoins or fiat, triggering a large-scale market decline. In other words, risk diversification doesnโ€™t work in crypto yet.

7. Lack of liquidity deters widespread adoption.Increased liquidity would mean price stability, easier, cheaper transactions, and more investor confidence. It would also prevent Bitcoin whales, or large buys, from manipulating cryptocurrency prices.Stability and fast transactions translate to wider cryptocurrency adoption, meaning that people besides cyberpunks and techies would feel comfortable converting their U.S. dollars into cryptocurrencies knowing that they could easily convert it back without paying steep transaction fees.Today, however, exchanges do not have enough liquidity to provide these functions, despite the fact that cryptocurrency adoption is on the rise. Some suggest that the best way to increase liquidity is to create a large exchange pool used by multiple exchanges.Related: The 5 Ways Banks Must Transform to Thrive in an Era of Cryptocurrency

8. Security remains a concern for prospective investors. The crypto market has received a lot of bad press for hacks, exit scams and Ponzi schemes. For some, ICOs are synonymous with fraud, though this is far from the truth. However, cryptocurrency exchange security remains a glaring issue The fact is that $1.1 billion in cryptocurrency was hacked in 2018. In the previous year, cryptocurrency hacks rose 369 percent. This is because stealing funds from exchanges, rather than banks, is a lot easier to do. Exchanges can be small companies with inadequate security to control millions in digital assets. Though there are many secure options, exchanges are not to be trusted across the board.

9. The Bitcoin Cash hard fork destabilized the crypto market. In late 2018, Bitcoin Cash (BCH) hard forked into two separate cryptocurrencies: Bitcoin Cash SV and Bitcoin Cash ABC.What happened was that developers and miners within the Bitcoin Cash community separated into two camps, each with their own vision for the currency. Because the changes they wanted to implement were incompatible with one another — adding oracles, smart contracts, increasing block size — the cryptocurrencyโ€™s blockchain split in two. Before the split, Bitcoin Cashโ€™s price shot up around 40 percent. This is because investors receive the same amount of each cryptocurrency when it splits it two, thereby doubling their funds. After the hard fork, prices plummeted. There is speculation that the competition between SV and ABC inspired uncertainty in the entire market. Since the hard fork on Nov. 15, the entire market has been in decline. The crypto market is down because regulation is just beginning.Cryptocurrecyโ€™s biggest problem is also its greatest investment advantage: Itโ€™s brand new. This means that we have yet to figure out how to regulate it. For this reason, some experts say that itโ€™s not too late to invest in cryptocurrency.Once exchanges are standardized and provide enough liquidity and security, investors will be confident enough to go long in crypto. And when it becomes possible to exchange fiat for altcoins, investors will be able to diversify their portfolios without worrying that theyโ€™ll lose everything at the first signs of a bear market.Cryptocurrencies are as real as any other asset: The more institutions and people believe in the power of instantaneous, borderless assets, the more theyโ€™ll be worth.

Pakistan to punish Facebook for supporting India

Nowadays, a hot topic in Pakistan is about punishing Facebook because Facebook is supporting India regarding the Kashmir issue. All this because facebook had a massive crackdown on anti-India propaganda done by Pakistan.

What happened?

Chairman of the parliamentary committee on Kashmir Shahryar Khan Afridi directed the chief of Pakistan telecommunication authority (PTA) to take legal action against Facebook over the selective steps it took against Pakistani and Kashmiri social media activist. Recently PTA was also in the news because it threatened the Hindu American body over publishing a website on the genocide of Bangladeshi’s in 1971 by the Pak army. In Pakistan, Facebook reported that it removed at least 40 accounts, 28 Instagram accounts and groups, all involved in manipulating domestic public opinion in favour of the Pakistan military and its policies, including on topics such as India and Kashmir. Facebook investigated all the countries that are trying to spread their propaganda on Facebook and found that two countries are manipulating people on a large scale, Pakistan and Russia. They make fake accounts and pages on Facebook and use these pages to spread their propaganda. This kind of work is accomplished by an agency known as ‘Alphapro’, which is a Pakistan- based PR firm. “Key narratives advanced by the network include: praise for Pakistan and its armed forces; efforts to denigrate india and highlight attacks by Hindu nationalists targeting religious minorities and support for Pakistani PM,” said a Graphika report. This step was taken by Facebook on its own seeing the scale of propaganda on Facebook.

The advantage of this type of propaganda is to increase the soft power of Pakistan and reduce that of India. This is a long term strategy. Recently Pakistan has reported the deaths of journalists who spoke against the Pakistani government. There is also a draft law in Pakistan’s parliament that effectively criminalises criticism of the military with a two-year prison sentence and heavy fines. On one side Pakistan is trying to suppress the voice of journalists in Pakistan and on the other hand seeking free speech on Facebook so that it can continue its propaganda.

IIT DELHI ANALYSES THE OUTCOME

New Delhi: Leading Indian universities can rank among the best 50 in the world, IIT Delhi director V. Ramgopal Rao has written to his colleagues. Rao, in his letter, has given a six-point diagnosis of the recently released QS World University Ranking, in which IIT Delhi was named the second-best from India with a global ranking of 185, eight positions behind IIT Bombay and one place ahead of IISc-Bangalore.While giving an analysis of the rankings, IIT-Delhiโ€™s score in the global league table, and what should be done, Rao said one can also โ€œreplace IIT Delhi with Bombay or other top institutions from India, and the story remains the same” and the rankings must be seen with a context.

Here is the six-point analysis by director Rao on each of the parameters:

  1. Talking about academic reputation, which commands 40% weight in the QS World University Ranking, Rao said โ€œwe need to talk about ourselves more and inform public –both in India and abroad– about our research accomplishments. We simply need to be more visible ourselves. Outreach is important”. On a scale of 100, IIT Delhi was awarded 45.9 in the fresh world rankings.
  2. . IIT Delhi director wrote that in the employer reputation parameter, the institution is doing well. The school has got 70 out of 100 in this ranking indicator that commands 10% weight in the ranking.
  3. On faculty-student ratio, Rao said โ€œwe simply need to hire more faculty. Finding IIT quality faculty is a challenge. We can’t ramp it up beyond a point. We are highly quality conscious and rightly so. โ€œAlso, please note, the older IITs added 2500 additional students in the last two years because of EWS quota implementation. So we took a hit on this for reasons beyond our control”.
  4. Citations per faculty: โ€œIIT Delhi a few years ago got a score of 94 on this. But we recruited 200 new faculty in the last 5 years, so our citations per faculty count has come down. Once these new faculty become productive in the system, this should rise again. We are on a strong foundation here,” Rao wrote in his letter.
  5. . On international faculty, which has been a traditional weakness for Indian institutions, Rao said โ€œIIT jobs are government jobs. Recruiting international faculty is still riddled with policy issues at all levels. Whatever scores we get, these are mostly because of OCI/PIOs on our faculty. But we need to go global in our faculty hiring. We are trying, but it takes time. It can’t be changed overnight”.
  6. On international students, director Rao has written that โ€œIITs need to admit more international students. Because of high level of preparation needed for the JEE Adv exam, the doors are almost closed for international students at the undergraduate levels. We are admitting more and more international students at the masters and PhD level. But we can’t do this at the cost of scores of Indian students who wish to come to these institutions but denied admission.โ€œIndia simply needs to create a lot more high-quality institutions so the pressure on IIT admissions comes down. IIT Delhi has announced 500 PhD Fellowships for international students and also coordinates the national ASEAN PhD Fellowship Programme. Takes time for this. Pandemic has hit us hard here

Ripening of a Big reform

The fire against the farm bills has not doused yet. Elements of politics are also involved which will not let the matter fade away. The recent update about the mixing of political color and farmers concern is when the chief minister of West Bengal Mamta Banerjee and Bhartiya Kisan union leader Rakesh Tikait met. Sometimes politics can give an extra push to a movement, especially when it is dying. The people were not the only ones affected by the pandemic. It seems the movements also caught the flu.

Background
In 2020 farm acts were Legislated by the centre. The three laws that were passed as a package include-
1) Farmers produce trade and commerce promotion and facilitation act 2020
2) The Essential commodities amendment act
3) Farmers empowerment and protection agreement on price assurance and farm services act 2020

Entry 33(b) in the concurrent list was invoked to enact the law. The subject that 33(b) talks about is trade and commerce in, and production, supply and distribution of, โ€œfoodstuffsโ€. Many states, most notably Punjab, accused the centre of extending the meaning of the subject to include agriculture although it is under the state list.
Usually when parliament passes a law on matter enumerated in concurrent list and states are against the law then
1) States can amend it, subject to the condition that provisions that contradict the parliamentary act will have to get presidentโ€™s assent, without which they cannot be enforced
2) The aggrieved states can challenge the validity of the law in the Supreme Court
It remains to be seen what impact will the states legislating against the law have on the centre.

Apart from the disagreement between the centre and the state that did not attract much attention, there was a tussle between the farmers and the union government. The mobilisation of farmers against the laws in Delhi and the voice raised by them were heard overseas as well. A series of fight between the soft powers made many headlines within India as well as between Indian and foreign celebrities.

The contradiction
In laymen terms, the bone of contention between farmers and the centre was that the involvement of private companies will throw the poor farmers at mercy of big businessmen. Minimum support price (MSP) might soon be removed as the next strategy of privatisation.

The flaws and a suggestion
A big policy reform can be successful only if people are convinced that it will benefit them. Public needs proof that the reforms will be in their favour. If the government wants to introduce reforms then they need to take people into confidence. All the stakeholders must be on board. Therefore a big policy reform needs time. Since proof lies in eating the pudding, small pilot projects to observe the impact of the reform on society should be conducted. The success of such small projects can build confidence in people. If the project is not successful then there is a scope for improving and modifying the policy.
India is a vast and diverse country cannot be exposed to a big reform all at once. Take demonetisation for instance. The pan India exercise did not give the expected outcome. It dented the economy. Lesson from the past can help build a better future. So, the bottom line is that a big transition is not easy because it affects everyone- few benefit while few are at the receiving end. Giving it time to ripe while taking one step at a time can be an option that helps people accept the change.

A new version of Censorship.

As per the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MEITy), social media platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, and Instagram have to follow the new Guidelines of government failing which can lead to a ban. guidelines were issued in February 2021, and social media platforms had around 3 months to acquire these guidelines. The companies are yet to respond to the Intermediary Guidelines. The decision taken due to the fake headlines do nothing but spread fear among people.

According to the constitution, India is a democracy at least on pen and paper. However, certain powerful people in the Central Government, to strengthen power, are now trying to silence free speech on social media. Free speech is a right granted to all human beings globally. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) recognizes it as a fundamental right. India happens to be one having this right. This means, Indian citizens should have access to this right, and itโ€™s the governmentโ€™s responsibility to see that this right is being protected.

Yet, these powerful individuals within the Central Government, have time and again gone to unbelievable measures to control this right.

. The disappointed young people of today turn to social media to express their objections about everything they found mistaken or unsuitable. Be it a person of any class, culture, community, and religion. everyone turns to the internet. And the only way to check these critics would be by introducing โ€œAgreement Officersโ€.That is exactly what the government has done through its intermediary guidelines to check whoโ€™s saying what on the internet.

If this guideline came into being. There exists no mechanism for the common mass to raise their voices. The only time when the masses get to raise their voice is during the elections. But then again, itโ€™s the media that controls the elections these days. Unfortunately, reporting is done in such a way that weโ€™re persuaded in support of a particular political party. This plan, if achieved, will badly affect the very foundation of our democracy.

Criticism makes democracy strong. But these guidelines go against it.

Maybe government believes that criticism isnโ€™t important anymore and hence has concluded that the internet should be controlled. Itโ€™s dishonest of this country to say that other countries are trying to crush free speech.

The government needs to come into a discussion with the social media companies and the common people. But the government didn’t give a single thought to it. It is nothing but censorship in disguise.

The Cloud Kitchen

Mumbai is the city of dreams. The streets of this city are bustling with people, and there is a certain sense of urgency possessed by everyone who passes by. It is, after all India’s financial capital. Another important aspect of everyday life are the city’s dabbawalas.

Since 1890. dressed in white outfit and traditional Gandhi cap, Mumbai army of 5,000 Dabbawalas are fulfilling the hunger of almost 2,00,000 Mumbaikars with home cooked food that is lug between home and office daily. They are a lunchbox delivery and return system that delivers hot lunches from homes and restaurants to people at work. The lunchboxes are picked up late morning, delivered predominantly using bicycles and railway trains. and returned empty in the afternoon.

They have worked through the worst situations. Rains, floods, terror attacks but never seen something like this before. The pandemic has disrupted the delivery services, since most of the offices are closed and Mumbai’s workforce are managing work from home. A veteran tiffinwala stated that his team of seven dabbawalas used to make around 20 deliveries before, but now, not more than four. This forced him to go to his hometown in Pune to do farming, as he had to make ends meet for him and his family.

Ad Covid changed culinary culture, delivering hot lunches that would fetch dabbawalas Rs.14000-20,000 monthly has now reduced to almost nil. Following lockdown, around 3000 dabbawalas from many parts of Maharashtra especially Pune, Ambegaon returned back to their hometowns due to insufficient source of income. When offices started opening up last June, they were able to restart their services but with 300 dabbawalas. In the second lockdown, there is work for only 100-150. Mumbai dabbawalas saw their business plunge by nearly 90%.

Struggling to resume services, they found a new breed of tiffin takers-Covid care facilities, poeple in home quarantine, isolation centres and healthcare workers in hospitals. As times are changing, it was time for the approach of the Mumbai dabbawalas to change and run parallel to the current scenarios.

A recent news article stated,”There is no turning back the wheel and the tiffin carriers will no longer just be dropping off lunch boxes as they kick off the next era with the ‘cloud kitchen’. ”

Now, the Mumbai dabbawalas have created a website where poeple can directly place their orders. One can choose between monthly and annual subscriptions and they have also introduced online money transfers to make payments easier. Dabba services have always depended upon cash transactions and they faced financial difficulties during the pandemic.

The idea is to use their unique sorting skills to diversify, generate employment, bring stability and pride in what is India’s oldest food delivery chain. This website will also allow customers to choose between mini-meals and regular meals and will provide a wide menu of items to choose from.

This will be a huge transformation for the Mumbai dabbawalas who are now exploring new options and advancing in technology. They will rustle up a seven day rotating menu of home-style lunches in a 1,000 sq feet “cloud kitchen” at Saki Naka aimed at time-starved millenials. Some of the dabbawalas and their wives are currently being trained and they should be launching their service by mid-June.

live-In Relationships Illegal or not?

Denial of granting protection to a couple who are in a live-in relationship only because it is socially and morally unacceptable. is it justified on the part of Punjab and Haryana High Court? The boy and the girl had been in a living relationship that goes against the girl’s parents will.

The couple asked for protection from the court for their life and liberty after being frightened by their families. Unfortunately, they were denied protection. the denial of their right under Article 21, in this case, is inappropriate. The judgment by the court seizes their identity as per Article 21 as well as the right to โ€œlife or libertyโ€.Article 21 declares that every individual has the right to their life or personal liberty. Therefore to secure their right the couple moved before the Punjab and Haryana High Court for the protection under Article 21, which is dismissed by the court on the ground of social and moral unacceptability. while rejecting the petition, the high court interpreted that the term โ€œpersonโ€ means those who are recognized by law as being capable of having legal rights and being bound by legal duties, not a couple. After getting married, a man and woman are considered capable of having legal rights and duties known as rights in the institution of marriage. But only when the marriage has been done as per their respective marriage laws in force in India.

The denial of the right to life and liberty is completely inappropriate in the law. Since no law in India criminalizes pre-marriage, it would be more like legislation by the judiciary to hold pre-marriage illegal based on social morals. There is no force of law in an opinion that has been embraced by the conservative majoritarian masses of India who find it illegitimate. The decision rendered by the Punjab and Haryana High court erred in ascertaining the aforesaid point. In place of assistance, the couple became the subject of discrimination held by the conservative majoritarian masses.

book review: A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini-review

A Thousand Splendid Suns, with one goal in my mind: I wanted to have a real cry. One of those books that truly move you, pulling on your heartstrings until you bawl like a child. The main plot seemed to fill my criteria. Set in Afghanistan from the 1960s to the 1990s, spanning from Soviet occupation to the Taliban control, following the lives of two women in their marriages and in their war-torn country. Expecting domestic abuse, graphic war descriptions and a main theme of oppression in Afghan women, I was satisfied- yes, I will weep.

The novel is split in a dual narrative, the first being Mariam when she is nine, living on the outskirts of Heart with her bitter mother, anxiously in wait for the once-a-week visits from her wealthy father. Branded a harami, an illegitimate child, Mariam faces many prejudices and blame not only from the family of her father, but also from her own mother. Hosseini introduces a naรฏve child whom you immediately pity, and also feel a foreboding clutch the pages. Not soon into the story, Mariam discovers the emptiness in her father’s love and after her mother’s suicide, is forced to marry a man more than 20 years her senior, her being only 15.

You blink several times. You squirm. You cry out in outrage. But Hosseini isn’t finished. Rasheed is a kind man, albeit rather archaic in his manner and grumpy, but all things considered Mariam’s life does not seem so terrible anymore. Until the miscarriage. And then the continual miscarriages. Domestic abuse? Yup, I knew there must be some somewhere.

However, Hosseini does something new. You pity the husband, for his past is one with sorrow much like Mariam’s- it does not justify his actions- but you feel sympathy for his situation. Then comes the second narrative- Laila. An innocent young child with a best friend who is a boy, a family torn by the war that steals her brothers away from her and in turn her mother’s affection. Orphaned, torn from her love, Laila agrees to marry Rasheed. The stories of these two wives will make you gaze in awe at the sheer strength of love in desperate times.

All the way through the novel Hosseini weaves in information about Afghanistan’s situation nevertheless it is only here that it takes a role in the story. Yet he makes sure that it is never a driving force in the novel- that is for the voices of these two women. Both trying to make do, muddling through life trying to find joy through the gloom, one innocent yet hiding a terrible secret and another bitter with age and resenting her life. Both still with a glimmer of hope in their eyes as they embark on a great journey.

Hosseini’s writing is simple, and that is all it needs to be, a welcoming contrast to Mariam and Laila’s complex situations.

By the end you are not only left with a tear, but with a fire lit within. It is above all a story of hope and of life, the heroism that comes with love and the inevitable strife that comes with living. Inspirational, outstanding, every man and women must read this tale.

PHOTOGRAPHS: A NEW BREATH OF LIFE

It was a great deal back then to, gather everyone, get ready and go to the photo studio and take a photograph. And that wasnโ€™t all. We had to wait till 3-7 days for the photos to be developed. That suspense was what kept the thrill of taking photograph alive. Then came the roll camera, digital camera, our cellphones and now our mobiles.

The process of taking photos has developed tremendously, especially in the recent years. Even a two year old teaches us how to take a selfie. Marriages are more like a story captured through series of candid moments of the bride and groom and surprisingly, even the family members. The only wedding album, that wasnโ€™t also not long known, was only of the bride and groom and the occasional group pictures. Maternity photoshoots, honeymoon photoshoots, new born photoshoots etc. are the new trends, are so meaningful so as to be looked back with happy memories.(though they tend to cast a hole in the wedding budget!)

Capturing the moments that we hold dear to our hearts is so cool. Take for example, if your friends throw you a surprise birthday party, then the pictures they take of you, in your pure elated happiness is something you will cherish for years to come. There was a time when it was a tradition to for everyone to sit down and look at every picture albums every year and have a laugh about how we look in the pictures.

People used to introduce long distance relatives to children who have never seen them. Sadly, now it has become the only way in which kids know about their long-lost relatives. As mentioned earlier, the thrill and suspense of taking a picture is now completely gone. People have started taking photos for ridiculous reasons and the meaning in preserving the memories has been completely exploited.

But still, the essence still seems to linger on. The quality of photographs is through the roof. Even the smallest of the pollens of flowers are captured beautifully. In a way, the photographs has provided us with a new perspective on how we see life. There are many awareness programs that captures people in the lowest and collect funds to help them.

Not only photography, but the branch of videography has also improved so much so that you can photoshop yourself and edit that you are walking on the moon without anyone suspect anything. (though that would raise some controversy, donโ€™t do the moon!)

The most favorite genre of photography are nature and nature related photoshoots. Countless sunrises and sunsets, the countless colonies of ants captured so closely, the wildlife photoshoots that describe the life of the wild animals, even the simple rain drops, and the simple sun rays is seen with a new eye, a third eye on how we see our surroundings.

You donโ€™t need to have a DSLR camera to take photographs. Your good old Redmi or Samsung are enough for the memories that are close to your heart. ย Even the simplest of the things can be seen differently if captured from the angle. Doesnโ€™t that apply to our life too? Sometimes a little change of perspective may all we need in life for a peaceful life.

social issue: Racism

Racism is the illogical belief that a particular race has distinctive cultural traits endowed due to the genetic factors that make individual races inherently superior to the others and give them the right to exploit the inferior races. When we openly state the meaning of racism, we can see how inexplicable and unimaginable, such a thought is. But, racism is so deep-seated in our consciousness and subconsciousness that we have long bowed down to such infuriating ideals.

Such instances of subtle racism within a society are rampant and lead to inexcusable behavior of people towards others. Such unjustifiable behavior and actions are things like mental stress, social harassment, and even physical assaults. Since we have let racist comments and activities unnoticed, it is left untreated and leads to more division and anger between the two different people of different backgrounds. It is a never-ending, vicious cycle and a massive crisis in todayโ€™s world.

We should never judge others for the way they look for the way they speak. All people are born equal, and nothing can change that. Narrow-minded thoughts like racism should have extinguished with the increase in educated people and the intermixing of various races. Still, sadly, such behavior is the blatant reality and shows no signs of toning down. Racism makes people feel sorry for being born a certain way, of having a particular skin color. Racism has no scientific explanation, and the racist people are entirely ignorant about the feelings of other human beings.

No one can choose to be black, white, dark, fair, or anything in particular. God has made us, and there is nothing that should make us feel guilty for that. It is ridiculous and inhumane to make fun of people due to their cultural background or color of skin. We keep talking about how modern society embraces diverse cultures and diverse people. We try to accomplish gigantic things like World Peace, eradicate hunger and poverty, but we are not ready to unite to make such changes happen.

Racism is a barrier between the social advancement of our society. It is impossible to achieve something great with such narrow-minded and exclusive ideals. It is a delicate topic and requires people to have an open mind and embrace the changes. It is possible to eradicate racism in our society if we are more open about such sensitive topics and give simple matters like this a thought. Most of us are way too self-centered to think about such obstacles. It is so commonplace a behavior that we forget its adverse effects. It is high time we made a change.

Since racism is such a deep-seated belief, we will need some time to change. But, we can achieve anything if we put our mind to it. We do not need racism to divide us. People should acknowledge the fact that to achieve anything significant. We need to let go of narrow-minded beliefs. Only then can we advance as a society of the world.

Why Asbestos removal is vital ?

Asbestos is a natural mineral constituted of soft and flexible fibers that are resistant to heat, electricity, and corrosion. These characteristics make the mineral valuable, but also make its exposure highly toxic. Asbestos removal is indispensable because it causes severe health problems such as cancer. mental illness during pandemic

Mental Illness during Pandemic.
Covid19 pandemic hit the masses most severely mentally. The trauma from looking for the medicine, hospital beds to dealing with the mass of dead bodies, from being left jobless to mass migration and suffering. These all circumstances severely impacted our mental state. A tremendous number of people have lost their dear ones. And some are fighting for their life. While their loved ones and family are busy in the constant search of medicines and oxygen cylinders. Those who are safe are also suffering from mental illness by looking at their environment. Full of grief, devastation. This time is very hard. And financial crisis makes this problem. So many families especially of the lower class. Left without money and aid. Those who earn daily and labor are struggling a lot. These financial bottlenecks resulted in mental illness. Especially those students who are handling the digital divide. Faces stress and mental illness. All students couldn’t afford online education due to a lack of digital gadgets. That acts as a hindrance to the growth and education of unprivileged students. The cost of academic education and institution creates a financial burden for the students and the family. some can deal with it. But those who couldn’t eventually end up dropping out there college and institute. That leads to mental stress among the students. Recently, the cases of suicide by students increase manifold. That shows how mentally covid have impacted the students. Therefore cases of suicides are reported manifold. Students who are privilege enough. Also facing mental trauma. Online education also created an additional problem, technical glitches, electricity problems, access to devices, are major problems related to online education. That cause mental stress, headache as well as eyesight problems. This problem can be overcome through everyone’s participation. All need to contribute. By providing financial aid to the needy. And by including in the conversation as much as possible with our friends and family in this hard time. Chatting with each other acts as a medicine to cure the ailment of mental stress.

Conservative family

Everyone must have heard about this thing somewhere or somewhat, many of this reading might have conservative family.

So basically there are different types of conservative families, before coming to that what is the real reason behind that conservatism, what I learned , the real reason behind this is their own past which make them develop a habit which eventually turns out them to Become conservative.

So there are different types of conservative families which might me one who still thinks girls can’t step out, so before pandemic I went to a small town just to visit someone I realized still they believe that girl should be going out of house if only needed so much, I tried explaining them but they take out their norms as a shield, then there is an another type of conservative family which stop there kids to do anything which involves risk just because they had faced that risk before and they don’t want their kids to repeat that mistake which eventually lead out kids to be more outspoken, then there is another type which just believe that they had whole control over their kids life who believe that if they even do anything without their permission they gonna punish them to an extend which will make them remember not to do anything without their consent.

These things only make a child miss alot, a child could never be able to follow any of his passion just because they believe a child is small, can’t take decision and can’t handle their own life

Mistake make a person learn things which even life can’t so rather than stopping start promoting, maybe the person doing it actually outshine it.

Everyone has a different body that reacts to things differently many people have lost their lives because of taking the wrong dosage it’s never advised to take it without guidance and many bodybuilders are also natural and there are so many campaigns going on for making India drug free. In the long terms, steroids results in many chronic infections and have many side effects on your body as well.

People in India are so misguided that they don’t know the difference between supplements and steroids people think multivitamins and whey protein are also steroids or bad for the body. People need to study and gain some information about this sector, especially in India. whey protein is made out of milk so it is a milk product and it is used for hitting the daily protein goal easily without actually increasing the number of unwanted calories and multivitamins are important for maintaining a balanced diet. Your daily protein requirement can not be completed by only your normal diet so, people take the help of supplementation for making it convenient for them.

There is a real big myth in many countries that weight training affects the growth in height. Many countries have now stopped believing in such things because earlier a study showed it compresses your spine for a really short period and the spine can easily take that kind of compressions and it has to do nothing with your height. Please stop thinking and worrying about your height many studies have also shown that the best age for starting weight training is 14 to 16 years because at this time body can recover the damage at a much faster pace which will result in fast results.

Computer Software Business Plan

Food Fun Life skills Instructional Software:

FoodFun Lifeskills Instructional Software (FoodFun LIS) is a start-up organization whose vision is to create the finest education/entertainment software for non-reading individuals with developmental disabilities. The software product has been designed and created by a Ph.D. veteran of the special education industry, to meet the needs of this special customer segment. The software will be constructive by teaching certain lifeskills and will be fun to use, encouraging the student to use it as often as possible. FoodFun LISย was formed as an Illinois L.L.C.ย by founder and owner is Sue Altamirankow, Ph.D.ย and will be based in Chicago.

market

FoodFun has identified four distinct market segments that will be interested in the software product. These segments are the most likely consumers of the software.ย The segments are as follows:

  • Centers for Independent Livingโ€“ These centers exist to help train individuals with developmental disabilities to live on their own. The curriculum is often based around four primary lifeskills that areย necessary for the individuals to have in order to successfully live independently.
  • School Districtsโ€“ย All states are required to provide education for students of specialย needs until they reach the age of 21. The school districts are often the educational providersย until the students are 18 and will be interested in FoodFunโ€™s software as they help the students obtain fundamental lifeskills.
  • Proactive Parentsโ€“ Parentsย who are taking an active role in the education of their children will be looking for aids that they can use at home to help with their childโ€™s learning progress.
  • Agenciesโ€“ Many states have formed agencies that act as brokers to connect service providers with individuals. The agencies have generally been formed as a result of a settlement or payout from a lawsuit (including class action).

product

Grocery shopping and socialization/leisure are two of the main lifeskills which individuals with developmental disabilities are taught. FoodFun has developed a unique software product that is an effective teaching aid for these important skills. The first component of the software is grocery shopping. This takes the form of a digital cookbook of recipes. Each recipe is represented by a picture. When the student chooses the picture they desire, they then see a list of pictures which are the ingredients and utensils needed to make the dish. The student is then able to print out the pictures and take the pictures to the grocery store, allowing them to shop independently

Competitive Edge

There are several companies on the market selling educational products for this target segment. FoodFun LIS will leverage their competitive edge by incorporating entertainment into their software product, a means of creating interest and joy while using the software. This interest and joy will increase the amount of time that the students use the software, thereby increasing the effectiveness of the program. FoodFun is convinced that when students enjoy what they are doing they are likely to use the product instead of having to be forced to use it.

management

FoodFun has been founded and will be led by Dr. Sue Altamirankow. Sue has a Masters and Ph.D. in special education and has been teaching in the university setting for eight years.ย Her published thesis โ€œImplications in Lifeskill Training for Individuals with Autismโ€ was a ground-breakingย paper that carefully studied all aspects of lifeskills. This was the foundation of her idea to start a software company. She realized that she could develop aย study aid that would be fun and effective. It would be fun because the students would enjoy using it, it would be effective because it taughtย important necessary lifeskillsย to individuals with developmental disabilities who begin to live more independently. FoodFun has forecasted revenues ofย $400,397 andย $490,000 forย years two and three.

Mission

To develop fun-to-use educational software for non-readers with developmental disabilities. Our software will provide lifeskills training that empowers the individuals and make them more independent. We exist to make products that the market demands and have a positive impact on society.

Keys to Success

  • Develop educational software that is constructive and fun. If it is not fun, it likely will not be used.
  • Implement a strong marketing campaign to develop awareness of the software and its benefits within all of the training centers, school districts, brokerages, and among parents.
  • Design strict financial controls for the organization.

Objectives

  • Increase sales byย triple for the first two years.
  • Achieve 20% market penetration by year four.
  • Assist more than 10,000 different individuals with development disabilities.

Effective Communication: 6 Ways to Improve Communication Skills

Effective communication skills is a straightforward process that allows you to express yourself and improve both your personal and professional relationships. Knowing how to listen well and communicate clearly will help you express yourself in job interviews, business meetings, and in your personal life as well.Jump To SectionWhat Is Effective Communication? Why Is Effective Communication Important?4 Skills That Are Necessary for Effective CommunicationHow to Improve Your Communication Skills.

What Is Effective Communication?Being an effective communicator means being able to both actively listen and clearly express yourself to those around you. Unfortunately, there is no one skill or technique that will make you a better communicator. Effective communication requires a diverse skillset that covers both verbal and nonverbal communication cues, as well as close listening.

Why Is Effective Communication Important?Effective communication is vital both in and out of the workplace because it allows you to clearly translate your intentions and feelings into easily understandable messages. Effective communication makes you a more productive worker and cuts down on unintended consequences that arise as a result of miscommunication. Developing an effective communication process helps you understand what others are saying and makes you a better collaborator and team member.

4 Skills That Are Necessary for Effective CommunicationDeveloping better communication habits requires several important skills that work in tandem with each other. Some of these skills involve the way you speak or hold your body, and others are more emotionally based interpersonal skills. Here are a few skills that good communicators possess:

Listening skills: Clear communication starts with active listening. If youโ€™re just focused on how you are expressing yourself, chances are you are not listening or reacting to what others are bringing to the table. An effective communicator uses a variety of listening styles. They pay close attention to whatโ€™s being said and make others feel heard and considered.

Empathy: Being able to understand the feelings of those around you is an integral part of being an effective communicator. Empathizing means both understanding and relating to someone elseโ€™s feelings. Having high emotional intelligence and demonstrating an ability to empathize builds rapport between you and others and increases your ability to communicate.

Nonverbal communication skills: In addition to verbal messages, effective communication relies on nonverbal cues. Developing an awareness of your body language and tone of voice will improve your messaging and presentation skills.

Teamwork: The ability to actively engage in team-building and consistently collaborate with coworkers is an important part of building your business communication skills. The more you build strong relationships and rapport with others in the workplace, the more effectively youโ€™ll be able to communicate with them.

How to Improve Your Communication Skills If you feel like you lack the basic skills required for good communication, there are a number of reliable ways to improve. Here are a few tips for developing your communication skills:

Practice active listening. Effective communicators are always good listeners. Active listening means engaging with what people say by giving affirmative replies and asking followup questions to show that you are paying attention.

Focus on nonverbal communication. Mastering nonverbal cues and nonverbal signals can help prevent miscommunication and signal interest to those around you. Pay attention to your facial expressions and body language when you are speaking with someone in a professional setting. Your nonverbal cues affect the first impression you make on someone. Maintaining eye contact, limiting hand gestures, and having good posture go a long way when meeting someone for the first time.

Manage your own emotions. For the sake of clear communication and your own personal wellbeing, itโ€™s important to manage your emotions and express them appropriately in context. Allowing strong emotions to unnecessarily creep into a professional setting can lead to poor communication and conflict.

Ask for feedback. Thereโ€™s no shame in asking for honest feedback on your communication skills from colleagues. Asking your peers or subordinates for their advice on improving your communication skills can help you better understand how you are coming across in your work environment. Cultivate a willingness to seek out other points of view and forge better relationships with your coworkers.

Practice public speaking. Public speaking may sound daunting, but thereโ€™s no better way to develop good communication skills than by seeking out public speaking opportunities. Great communicators are able to clearly articulate their feelings, whether theyโ€™re speaking to a large group or talking face-to-face to one other person. Regularly speaking in front of a group will magnify your strengths and weaknesses and force you to develop great communication habits.

Develop a filter. Effective communicators generally have highly developed social skills and are able to modulate how they express their thoughts and feelings to those around them. Know whatโ€™s appropriate to express in different interpersonal contexts. Developing a filter will help supplement other communication techniques and ensure that you maintain a certain level of decorum and avoid conflict in the workplace.

Snapchat Founding Story

Snapchat is one of the most used applications around the worldย today. A simple idea of being able to send disappearing pictures became a force in technology, advertising and entertainment. This is the founding story of Snapchat, the multimedia messaging app created by Evan Spiegel, Bobby Murphy and Reggie Brown.

Launched in the year 2011, the idea came to the founders when they were studying at Stanford University where Spiegel presented its first incarnation as part of a project for his product design class. Initially called Picaboo, the photo sharing service was first launched on the Apple App Store. But, soon after launching the app, Spiegel and Murphy decided to remove Brown from the company which led to a lawsuit and a subsequent $ 158 million settlement.

Spiegel and Murphy relaunched the app, post the lawsuit, with a new name, Snapchat. Snapchat became incredibly popular with kids and gained 100,000 users byย April 2012ย majorly through word of mouth. While Evanโ€™s, Bobbyโ€™s and Spiegelโ€™s first crack at an idea like Snapchat was a disaster, theย present iteration is the beta version is an unparalleled success. Snapchat, as we know it, came to be after 6 weeks of intense work and a presentation in front of 30 students and 2 professors. The idea of pictures not lasting forever was a concept people were really not familiar with and once everyone understood the concept, it became an instant success!

Many people are using Snapchat to posts Many snaps as daily routine. The people are maintaining Streaks for individual Contacts. It is one of the trending Social media application.

Even after going through rounds of failures and mishaps, Snapchat came to become one of the most successful businesses in the world of startups.ย One of the most uniqueย photoย sharing apps, Snapchat is now valued at a staggering $ 24 billion. In May 2015 alone, Snapchat raised $ 538 million in new funding rounds and it is believed to have shared more than 15 billion images during the last 3 years. With such quick growth and progress, Snapchat stands at being the third most valued startup in the world.

Recycling Should Be Made Compulsory

In todayโ€™s world recycling is an essential thing. Today when new goods are generated on a daily basis and the proper disposal of old ones is becoming a huge concern, recycling is the only way to ensure judicial use of resources. It is our responsibility to leave a healthy planet full of natural resources for the future generation.

As we know that charity begins at home, similarly recycling also begins at home. We can make new products from the old ones instead of just throwing them. The idea is to take the whole concept of reducing, reuse, and recycle into consideration for us to protect of environment. The world in which we live is a consumer-driven one, and the urge to get new things every day is increasing exponentially. This in turn leads to heaps of waste generation. We need to see this generation of waste in a different light in order to solve this issue and promote the idea of recycling and making it compulsory.

Common household items that contain various recyclable materials like newspapers, steel cans, plastic laundry detergents, and soft drink containers. These materials when recycled can be used in new ways such as recovered glass in asphalt to pave roads.

How can recycling be defined properly?

The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), defines recycling as, โ€œRecycling is the process of collecting and processing materials that would otherwise be thrown away as trash and turning them into new products. Recycling can benefit your community and the environment.โ€

It is the process of separating, collecting, and remanufacturing the used or waste products into new material. It does not help to extend the usefulness of something which has already served its original purpose but builds the idea of sustainable development.

Products made up of material like plastic, paper or metals are far from worthless even after they have served their original purpose. Studies show that up to 75 percent of all the waste can be recycled. If we carefully look around ourselves there is almost nothing that cannot be recycled. For example, stuff like batteries, biodegradable waste, clothing, electronics, garments, glass, metals, paper, plastics, and a lot more can be recycled.

Advantages of Recycling

Starting with the very basic one, recycling of wood and paper. As we already know that the natural resources are only limited and some have already started to deplete. In such a scenario recycling of wood and paper becomes fundamental as it saves trees and forests. It would result in a reduction in deforestation. When we recycle plastic, it would lead to reduced production of new plastic and less pollution caused by plastic waste which is even harmful to animals. Recycling of metals decreases mining activities.

Recycling plays an essential role when it comes to the economy of a country. It has been observed that it is six times cheaper to dispose of recycled waste than regular waste. This means, the more we recycle, the lesser is the amount of trash we produce and more money is saved. This can be beneficial for household businesses and local public services. For example, recycling food waste and green waste can reduce the cost of compost.

In short, we can say that recycling is extremely crucial to protect our environment as it prevents pollution, reduces the need to produce new raw material, saves energy and money. It is a way to sustainable development and an eco-friendly lifestyle.

HANDS THAT HEAL SHOULDN’T BLEED

COVID-19: AN EXPLOSIVE FUEL TO A RAGING FIRE

COVID-19 has brought fear, uncertainty and anxiety among people in an unprecedented fashion. Healthcare professionals (HCPs) around the world work tirelessly to serve humanity, all the while battling with these emotions. It is, therefore, truly disheartening when one learns about incidents of abuse and ostracism against HCPs, as the problem of violence against doctors in India is increasing steadily. Despite many reactionary measures like enhanced security to doctors at the workplace and stricter medical negligence laws, Indian doctors are teetering on the brink of a major silent crisis, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, which is detrimental for the growth of the society in the coming times.

FIERY RECIPE FOR DISASTER

Dissatisfied patients and their agitated friends and relatives, impaired doctorโ€“patient relationship, an ever hungry media and the medical communityโ€™s negative image created by misleading journalism are the usual perpetrators for violence against doctors. However, the fear and uncertainty of COVID-19 pandemic and the misinformed suspicion of doctors being vectors of transmission were the root cause for these recent catastrophes. These events put the medical community in a state of fear and regret for choosing a career when the society does not support them. A majority of doctors are now unwilling to motivate their children to pursue this profession, once revered by the society not too long ago.

PERSONAL ENCOUNTERS OF THE โ€˜ABUSIVEโ€™ KIND

In March 2020, a nationwide lockdown was enforced in India, creating panic and uncertainty among patients, their kin and the general public. Many housing-property owners asked their tenanting doctors working in All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, the premier institute of national importance in India, to vacate their houses. In a personal incident, one of the authors experienced shock, when he went shopping for groceries. The shop owner had an apathetic look on seeing his vehicleโ€™s hospital logo and asked him not to enter his shop. When he accidentally touched a stack of egg crates kept outside the shop, the owner got infuriated and ordered him to buy all the eggs, and asked him to never visit the shop again. Two female doctors in our hospital were beaten by a fruit seller after knowing they were doctors. A doctor in Chennai who had died due to COVID-19 was denied burial at two different cemeteries while his colleagues and family members were attacked by a mob.ย This inhumane act made the Indian government to effectuate an emergency ordinance for frontline corona workers under which any person attacking a health worker involved in treating COVID-19 can be jailed for up to 7 years. Since then, no such events were reported in the next 1 month, perhaps signifying a change in perception and behaviour. But alas, the relief was short lived. In June 2020, a doctor at Hyderabadโ€™s coronavirus facility was assaulted by relatives of a patient who had died at the hospital. More than 300 postgraduate doctors treating patients with COVID-19 went on strike for 2ย days, demanding protection and justice for this spate of violence but are yet to receive justice. In July 2020, a senior doctor was assaulted and stabbed by the deceased patientโ€™s relative in Mumbai.

UNEASY ROAD TO CHANGE

Reactionary measures to an event of violence are unlikely to boost the flagging morale of the medical workforce or represent sustainable solutions. The change must come from โ€˜withinโ€™โ€”within the people, in their perception towards doctors. To tide over this crisis, government agencies must work in tandem with the public; to abate their fears, to make them realise the criminal nature of vandalism and violence in a hospital, and the disgraceful and ungratifying marrow of ostracism. Also, for doctors to work fearlessly with devotion and dedication during COVID, there is a desperate need to rekindle the trust that patients and the society place in their doctors. Last, but not least, people should realise that hospitals are centres of healing and recuperation, and that doctors are integral to the health and well-being of the society.

Farmer’s contribution in every meal

Food is one of the basic necessity to live. Farmerโ€™s play an important role in the food we eat everyday. The one who feed us doesnโ€™t have proper food in their plates. Life is so unfair when it comes to give the equal reward to anyone for their hardwork and dedication. Our system works in one way direction where the rich gets everything with less hardwork but the poor suffers a lot even after putting their life on stake.

Many farmerโ€™s take loans from the bank to buy seeds and proper equipment’s for farming. Multiple years rainfall doesnโ€™t happen due to which their crops gets damaged. The interest of their loans and family pressure makes them take drastic steps like suicide or hurting themselves. The condition of farmers are not good in our country. Government should take into consideration about the challenges and hurdles faced by every farmer. We all should unite and appreciate their efforts.

The one who provide us food should be treated like a God. Farmerโ€™s are just another Godโ€™s form for which we should give them respect and honor them. Life seems very beautiful at a distance, but when we dig into the reality of farmerโ€™s condition is not at all good. We all should pray for farmerโ€™s before we take any meal in a day. There is no way you can repay the sacrifices and dedication of any farmer in the whole world.

Just a Prayer can keep you grounded to the roots.

Benefits of Bilingual brain

Benefits of Bilingual brain

Having good knowledge of more than one specific language, or being multilingual, can make travel easier or help us watch movies without subtitles but it also helps our brain work better than monolinguals, or the people who know only a single language.

Language ability is of two types, active and passive. The active part refers to the abilities of speaking and writing while the passive part refers to the abilities of listening and reading. And a balanced bilingual possesses nearly equal of all four abilities in both languages. Most bilinguals know and use their languages in varying proportions.

Depending upon situations and the means of acquiring language, bilinguals or multilinguals may be classified into three general types:

1. Compound bilinguals: Those who develop two or more linguistic codes simultaneously with a single set of concepts. This is generally the case with children beginning to learn to speak.

2. Coordinate bilinguals: Those who learn a new language while using another language in day-to-day life. This is the case with school students who study away from their home-region.

3. Subordinate bilinguals: Those who learn a new language by filtering it through their primary language. This is generally the case with professionals who work abroad.

With time and practice all people can learn and be proficient in new languages and thus for a casual observer it can be hard to differentiate amongst monolinguals and bilinguals. But the development in brain imaging technology has helped neurolinguists to observe how different aspects of learning a language affect the bilingual brain.

The critical period hypothesis implies that children learn new languages more easily because the plasticity of their developing brains helps them use both left and right hemispheres of their brains for language acquisition, while in most adults, language is limited to only one hemisphere which is generally the left hemisphere.

Regardless of when and how we acquire a new language, being multilingual gives our brain some remarkable advantages such as higher density of grey matter, more activity in certain regions of the brain while engaging in another language and the increased exercise of a bilingual brain can help delay the onset of diseases like Alzheimer’s and Dementia by upto five years.

Having a multilingual mind may not make us smarter but it does help make our brains healthier, complex and actively engaged and its always better to know more.

habits

Have you ever wondered, how habits can affect our living? How successful or miserable it can make a person is highly discussed in present world. We never think how our daily routines can affect our success or failures. But the small habits that a person has can make him successful or a failure. Long term success is the ultimate result of the routines that a person follows throughout his life.

The tiny changes that we bring in our lives can give remarkable results in the long run. But the wrong habits are more easy to follow and are more attractive than the good ones. The good habits are hard to follow because the seem unattractive at first. We fall for the bad habits very easily by forgetting the long term results.

“Atomic habits” written by James Clear clearly states the benefits of taking atomic habits seriously. He puts efforts in making the reader understand the importance of adapting good habits and letting go of the bad ones. The methods for implementing habits to our lives is also clearly mentioned in the book. He explains the importance of ‘cue’ , ‘craving’ and ‘reward’. One first needs to understand the need for a habit. The he must try to make it attractive and implement it. The result of ones doing is the reward for him. The method to make habits attractive is an important factor. This can only create craving in ones mind towards habits.

Success people always follow tiny habits which may not mean anything to someone else. But these habits played important role in building their career. There exist a man who believes anything can be achieved through continuous practices. He didn’t believed that a person gets his abilities at the time of birth itself. To prove his theory, the man trained his three daughters to play chess. The girls were constantly exposed to atmospheres that had only relation to chess. His children started to play chess from younger age itself and spent most of their time playing chess. All three girls became renowned chess players and marked their name in the list of chess players.

We fall prey for habits due to the craving that it cause to us. A person becomes addicted to cigar because of the thought that it can make a person tension free. Even if a person tries to quit smoking, the surrounding keep on giving him cues to continue it. The only way to quit smoking is to make the ques unattractive. Remind the mind of the unattractive factors of smoking. This is the same case for any routine that we fallow in our life. On waking up remind the mind about the importance of doing exercise. The benefits that one can attain make every habit attractive. It is interesting to note that these tiny habits can give great success in the long run. The physical and mental well being a person is totally depended on the habits that he follow. Therefore, small changes in life can really mean a lot.

MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES

Mental Health Issues are a range of conditions that affect you, your thinking, your mood and your behaviour. It makes things hard and complicated for you.

There are numerous mental health issues, most frequent ones includes anxiety disorders, behavioural and emotional disorders, bipolar affective disorders, dissociation and dissociative disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, eating disorders, post-traumatic disorders, schizophrenia, psychosis, depression and paranoia.

How to know what mental illness you have?

It might be hard to understand yourself at times, especially when you face multiple hardships at the same time. The best and most effective way is to take an online screening test where you will be asked questions about how you feel, what you would prefer in a particular scenario, what are your likes and dislikes, etc. After completing this test, you will get your results, if it shows that you have signs of one or the other disorders consider sharing with someone and consulting a therapist or a doctor.

How to improve your condition?

You cannot continue to face such issues all the time. No matter, how hard you try to tell yourself everything is fine, it will never be fine so seek help.

โ€ข Try accepting yourself the way you are, do not run away from the things you are having difficulty with. Take some time to understand your problems. Once you find the root of your problem, try to cut it off, for example, if your toxic friends keep demotivating and discouraging you, gather the will to speak up and end things honestly.

โ€ข Take rest and calm yourself as much as you can. Everyone has to face their problems but what makes each one of us different and unique is the way we tackle our problems. Deep Breathing is a great way to think of a solution with a calm mind. It has simple steps โ€œ5 3 7โ€, breathe in for 5 seconds, hold your breath for 3 seconds and finally breathe out for 7 seconds. It will decrease your tension and your heart will start to relax. This deep breathing when done in a continuous pattern will automatically make our brain think everything is fine and in favour of you.

โ€ข Try doing the opposite of what your illness makes you do like if you are feeling afraid of everyone around you, try eliminating that factor and go out, be with people and try to socialize. This one is quite difficult so it may not be favourable for everyone but itโ€™s very effective and can get you a permanent solution.

โ€ข If you keep remembering about the past bad things that happened to you (PSTD), divert your attention from there to what is happening around you, for example, try touching the place where you are sitting like bed or floor, listen to your mom shouting at you because you did not do the chores, smell the spices your mom is putting in todayโ€™s lunch, see what your siblings are playing, etc. Engage yourself in answering the questions about the things around you.

โ€ข Not every day is good but at least thereโ€™s one good thing that happens to you every day. Try thinking of your destinations like if you are having stress about studies that you have so much to study but you are not in the mood so think of what you are going to become one day by studying this, think of your dream jobs and what your parents have gone through to provide you with the best.

โ€ข Share it with your trusted people. Talking them out will help you in accepting yourself. Itโ€™s okay to cry when you are suffering but it will be better if you have a shoulder to cry on.

โ€ข Consult a therapist or doctor if your illness makes you go crazy and hurts you too much emotionally. Therapists know better than anyone how to treat a patient and calm them down. If nobody will understand you, they will definitely understand you and help you get rid of it.

Above are the ways which helps most of people get rid of their mental health issues, even if youโ€™re not comfortable with any of it try visiting a platform which provides demo therapy sessions for free and if it pleases you, you can consider to go for a paid therapy session.

Dowry system- a curse to society

Dowry system

Dowry system advert to sturdy goods ,and chattels that grooms, and his relatives demand from bride’s family. It is tradition provided by ancestors to us and we have to follow it though it is our choice we are ought to follow. Growing up in the society where tradition expect woman to reside with husband’s family, how would woman stand against dowry?

origin of Dowry system

During Chivalric and Renaissance Europe the dowry often assist not only to raise the acceptance of a woman for wedlock, but to fortify the authority to specify frontiers and prudence of nations. Later on in 19th and 20th century this practice went vanish.

In context of South Asia, it turned further approved at the end of 20th century. The practice of kanyadaan next varadakshina leads to the growth to dowry. History says that Rishi karav grant a number of presents to his daughter Shakuntala.

It can be inferred that since early marriage were norm in bygone society. As a daughter have to leave her maternal home, number of gifts are provided.

Current situation

Marriages have become a business deal. As dowry is exceedingly controlling the system of marriage in our society, now marriages are made by money. The more groom earns and is educated, more he and family demand as dowry. What’s the use of education if social evils are connived by those so called educated people?

In marriage market, boys are viciously sold. The appraisal of demand depends on boy’s education. Today, glutinous boy marry the car, chattels and household appliances. Every piece of household furniture, Tv sets and goods have become dowry.

Even girls nowadays are interested about what they are getting. Even when a girl is against this practice fingers are pointed upon girl’s family for not fulfilling their demand. Any which way this social evil is still prevailing in our society.

Despair of dowry

There is nothing bad about parents giving gifts for new journey. What if parents can’t afford it? Is it okay to demand? Not at all. The problem lies in the word “willingness”. It is illegal to demand other’s property. Every marriage of girls child drains out a huge amount of money from bride’s family to groom’s family. Even after fulfilling all the demand, sometimes groom’s family are not satisfied. This practice threatens the level of women and leads to the despair.

This is the main reason for female infanticide and female foeticide. Yearly there is recorded case of 12 million female infanticide. That means 12 million girl infants are died in a year of birth. Not only this, small girl who should focus on their career have to start working to get a dowry expenses. Innocent girls are even sexually harassed. This results in suicide and homicide. In a day approximately 20 women dies.

It is not only illegal but horrible as per women’s life. Due to this poor people get trapped in debt. Moreover, dowry keeps women from economic independence.

Government Act

Dowry system had been outlawed since 1961. In 1986, law against abuse and domestic violence in first 7 years of marriage in terms of dowry was amended. The worst thing even after legislation and government is that people are scared to report.

we’re living in a modern era of 21st century characterized by liberalization, privatization and globalization. But mentally we are not. It’s high time revolution should be taken. Government alone can’t bring change. Change starts from us and our society.

Tips and Tricks for Cracking any interview

.

Fun Fact: The interviewers are sick of listening to candidates speak about their families, grades, and how strong you are in your domain. I personally just zone out in this phase of the interview.

Pro tip: If you want a job, knowing little to moderate in your domain is more than enough. You get trained from the ground up. What you need to do, is STAND OUT!ย

1. If the interview is in person, always start with a FIRM handshake, ALWAYS! This is how you intrigue them and wake them up from their previous boring interviews.

2. Introduce yourself not with family names, education, grades, etc. but with your personal attributes/ qualities/ strengths. etc. This way you won’t be asked to speak of your strengths later on which is a tricky question since it almost always follows up with a rebuttal from the interviewer, and you wonโ€™t’ be experienced/ prepared enough to answer.

3. Don’t speak on things such as Brand Name, Work-Life Balance, Good salary, Growth, Job Security, etc. as reasons to join. You’re in college, you know nothing of these things.

4. Speak less on what motivates you to join the company (such as the aforementioned points), and more on what you bring to the table and how you would be an asset to the company.

5. Speak firmly on your decision to work and develop your skills/ core knowledge and not on things such as higher studies, or leaving the company for a higher salary. They don’t want to invest time and money in someone who’s gonna leave them.

6. Every Fresher who applies to a company, for Heaven’s sake just spend 5 mins on Wikipedia to read through about them before the interview. Things such as recent mergers, news, top clients, accolades, current CEO, etc. And most importantly their Vision and what makes them stand out in the industry.

7. Speak in full sentences. (When I ask you if you’re hungry, don’t answer with “yes”, answer with “yes I am, and I’d love to have lunch now”). Avoid using Umm, huh, ahhh, etc. Take time if you have to in between sentences, but don’t be informal. This shows your professional etiquette while conversing. And no, you don’t need to speak in 4 syllable words, just plain and simple English will suffice.

8. Finally, have at least 2-3 questions for the Interviewer, things such as how easy/ difficult it’ll be to both learn and deliver at the same time, on their opinion/ experience of working in said company, on what the company’s expectations are from a trainee, etc. Ask questions that will always demand a positive answer, so the Interviewer ever so slightly sways to your side.

LABOUR LAW RELAXATION: CHANGES AND IMPACTS

INTRODUCTION

Covid-19 pandemic has undoubtedly shaken up the condition in India. The widespread virus has resulted in nationwide lockdown and, it has not only affected the public but also worsened the economy. The Government of India has since taken all necessary steps to ensure that we are well prepared to face the challenge and threat posed by the growing COVID-19 Corona Virus pandemic. But the economy is struggling with the lockdown and a lot of firms and representatives suspect a doubtful future, a part of the state governments chose to roll out huge improvements in the labour laws. These alterations were made considering it a good measure to boost monetary movement in a few states. But on the other hand, this move may undermine the enthusiasm of workers, who are one of the most defenseless slabs that have been affected by the pandemic. Our Indian labour laws are regularly portrayed as “firm1 “. At the end of the day, it has been contended that gratitude to the difficult lawful prerequisites, firms vacillate from recruiting new labourers since terminating them requires government endorsements. Indian labour laws are made to defend the interests of the labourers. In the outbreak of the COVID-19, numerous states have loosened up the labour laws in the favour of the businesses/employers so outside ventures can be attracted in their states. But this exemption may cause infringement of labour laws in India. It is appropriate to say that the pandemic is a once in a blue moon chance to push through labour reforms. All these things accounted, it is muddled that the whole scale revocation of the labour law framework benefits either work or industry. On the off chance that anything, this is a well-suited second for the administrations, at both the Centre and in the states, to re-establish their responsibility to the DPSP.

Amidst the lockdown due to the fatal covid-19 pandemic, the states were quick to take an important step to relax the labour laws. While at one hand the exemption was to encourage industrial setup and to pump up investments, on the other hand it might increase the difficulties of the workers. The Indian economy has had a major letdown due to the lockdown extended to almost 60 days. In order to revive the economy it is equally important to make a balance between both the employees and the employers. And a sudden exemption of 1000 days in major labour laws has created a disarray of opinion among the decision makers and labour law experts including organizations such as ILO.

But a question arises. From loosing employment, to walking miles to reach home, from starving to death, to getting run over by train while sleeping on tracks, did exemption in labour laws add to the plight of labourers?

RELAXATION IN LABOUR LAWS

In a recent survey by Azim Premji University, 67% of workers have lost their jobs during the lockdown. In addition, the officials have failed to fulfill the needs of the agonizing workers, the migrant labourers who then decided to walk their ways out to their home. The plight just doesnโ€™t end as humanity was shocked when 16 migrant labourers were run over by a goods train while resting.

Now, in the middle of the fatal covid-19 lockdown, many states have urged to bring changes in the labour law by the way of amendments. The sole reason of the urge seems to immune the employers from the labour laws for a while. Most of them have provided an exemption of about 1000 days which is approximately 3 years to the businesses and the employers. However, the laws for deployment of women and children, timely payment of wages will not be relaxed.

In India, there are around 200 state laws and close to 50 central laws for labour. There are many central laws that are not supposed to brush aside by the state alone without considering and consulting the centre. The ones in favour of the move feel that this will give flexibility to the industry, while the others including labour law experts call it โ€˜atrociousโ€™.

โ€œRelaxation in labour lawsโ€ for three years could result in โ€œexploitation of workersโ€, and workers needed โ€œsome guard railsโ€ in times like this,โ€ said Ravi Vishwanath, Finance executive at TeamLease. Even if there are a bunch of pros, the fear of exploitation still haunts the workers.

What were the changes?

There are various amendments introduced by the state governments which took place due to Covid-19 outbreak. Those amendments are:

  • Working hours in factories can be extended from eight to twelve hours. Employers are also allowed to extend working hours up to seventy two hours per week in overtime, after consultation with the employees.
  • Now the factory registration can be performed in only one day instead of 30. And the license renewal can be done after 10 years, rather than in a year. The officers not complying with the deadline can be penalized for non compliance.
  • Industrial Units will be exempted from majority of the provisions of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947. Organizations will be in a position to keep employees in service at their convenience. The Labour Department or the labour court will now not interfere in the action taken by the industries.
  • Contractors who will employ less than 50 employees/workers will be in a position to work without registration under the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970.

Several industries faced tremendous stress due to nationwide lockdown and slump in aggregate demand tweaked labour laws of their respective states. Several state governments in order to boost economic growth and revive these industries have initiated changes in labour laws. These changes were meant to protect their interests and provide them options against the pitfall they faced.

Uttar Pradesh

Uttar Pradesh government through a very large and ambiguously worded ordinance, exempted all factories and establishments engaged in manufacturing process from the operation of all Labour Laws for a period of three years; (with some exceptions). The state has exempted 10 Minimum Wages Act 1948, Maternity Benefit Act 1961, Industrial Dispute Act 1947 and Trades Union Act 1926 to name a few. The laws exempted from this ordinance are Payment of Wages Act 1936 and The Bonded Labour System (Abolition) Act 1976. Some provisions of Building and Other Construction Workers Act, 1996 and Factories Act, 1948 will continue to apply that are related to ex gratia payments in case of work-related diseases and disabilities. The ordinance is yet to be approved by the President as it seeks to amend Central legislations.

Madhya Pradesh

Similarly, Madhya Pradesh Government promulgated an ordinance which has amended two state laws i.e. Madhya Pradesh Industrial Employment Act, 1961 and Madhya Pradesh Sharam Kalyan Nidhi Adhiniyam 1982. The 1961 Act regulates the conditions of employment of workers and applies to all establishments with 50 or more workers. The Ordinance increases this threshold to 100 or more workers. Therefore, the Act will no longer apply to industries with between 50 and 100 workers that were previously regulated. The 1982 Act provides for the constitution of a fund that will help labours for finance activities. The Ordinance amends the Act to allow the state government to exempt any establishment or class of establishments from the provisions of the Act through a notification. Government has further amended certain provisions of Industrial Dispute Act, 1947 1 to exempt new establishments from the requirements under the act as long as it feels that there exist a mechanism of dispute resolution in new establishments. Shops and Establishments Act has also been amended, shops are permitted to stay open from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. (which appears to be a typo for 12 a.m., midnight).

Gujarat

Gujarat has also amended certain labour laws exempting establishments from various obligations pertaining to the welfare of labour. The state has increased working hours from 48 to 72 a week with no overtime pay required Gujarat has also exempted all factories registered under the Factories Act, 1948 from various provisions relating to weekly hours, daily hours, intervals for rest etc., with effect from April 20, 2020, with the following conditions until July 19, 2020: โ€ข No adult worker shall be allowed or required to work in a factory for more than twelve (12) hours a day and seventy-two (72) hours in a week. โ€ข No worker shall work for more than six (6) hours before he has had an interval for rest for at least half an hour on each day. 11 โ€ข No female worker shall be allowed or required to work in a factory between 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM. โ€ข Wages shall be in proportion of the existing wages. (E.g. if wages for eight (8) hours are Rs. 80, then the proportionate wages for twelve (12) hours will be Rs. 120).

Rajasthan

Rajasthan has also tweaked their labour laws in the favour of industries and other manufacturing establishments, both the states have increased the working hour from 8 to 12 per day with overtime.

Was it a good decision?

The relaxed labour laws might have made it easier for the businesses to run, but the question is, did it put the interests of labourers and workers at stake? This is because amid the covid-19 breakdown, workers and labourers are more prone to risks. This risk came along with the relaxed labour laws which exempted the essential provisions such as healthcare, sanitization and working conditions. While there is no doubt that a great challenge for businesses is created by the pandemic. The relaxation in the laws will promote an environment for industries to start off at new speed. It will help India to work on their pre-planned programs like โ€˜Make in Indiaโ€™, โ€˜Skill in Indiaโ€™. But on the other hand, it will create a new phase of problems for the workers who already have nothing in their pockets.

Suggestions

The State Government should improve the ambience of industries. This is especially required in the times of pandemic. The virus can be fatal and in contemplation of their lives, sustaining the living condition, working condition, sanitization is very important. In addition, maintaining social distancing is the need of the hour. All of these can only be ensured by the government when they will enforce the industries to abide by it. Another strand to this is the โ€˜Exploitation of workersโ€™, which is yet another threat. As soon as the lockdown lifts, the people who are already desperate for wages, work and means of livelihood will be the target of exploitation. Extension of work hours from 8 to 12 hours per day has solved the problem of shortage in supply of workers. But this will cascade the old methods of abuse of the helpless labourers. Thus, it is necessary to assure the well being of the workers. The skilled and productive workers will be given adequate opportunities while the weaker ones will be exempted from proper wages and protective environment. This problem is not unpredictable and thus the Government is obligated to resolve the same.

One would suggest that with manipulation of workers, the industries, businesses and workplaces need to ensure the living condition, health and hygiene, no abuse, fair treatment, social distancing, sanitization, interests and well being of the workers ad labourers too. The Government is supposed to requisite such instructions and enforces them without any flaw. Perceiving the risk of exploitation and unfair treatment, several Trade union activists have joined the battleground. They exclaimed that the decision of government โ€˜completely lacks sensitivityโ€™. They have demanded for proper sanitizers and masks in order to save their lives. Moreover, proper cooked food for the stranded workers. In fact, the informal women workers are barely getting anything. Due to the huge gender based wage cycle, the women who work for informal sectors such as domestic work, waste picking, construction work, street vending etc are hardly being paid. The Government need not overlook this and cannot have a lockdown exit strategy which ignores women.

CONCLUSION

It is a speculation that with uplifting the bar of labour laws, Indian markets are competing with the authoritarian markets of China. With removal or relaxation of all but three laws in some of the most impactful states has created chaos among employers and employees. While the labour reform was the most anticipated one by the industrialists and businesses, it can be a curse for the labourers. India is a democratic country and holds a socialist economy which ensures equity and welfare of the general public. The most important thing to be kept in mind is to create a balance between the rights and duties employers and employees. For providing bread to a person, we cannot snatch it from the other, similarly to boost the economic growth we cannot take away protection from the workers. In an already lethal situation which the country is, we cannot make workers to put their life at cost. But the labour reform was always something the country needed, keeping this in mind; the decision cannot be claimed as a bad move. The economy was not in a good condition at first place and as many companies are seeking to withdraw their hands from China, we cannot have a better opportunity. Many have the view that the laws must be relaxed permanently, so that the relaxations will help industry get back on its feet. โ€œAt the very least, ease some of its current painโ€”which, in the long run, will benefit workers more than the immobilizing labour laws that were enacted to ensure the workersโ€™ interests were preserved.โ€

But with that the government must ensure living conditions, adequate pay, wages and opportunities. India has come through facing worker exploitation since ages, it has improved a lot but we cannot afford to go all the years back.

Students misery

The covid pandemic not only impacted adults but students also. At one place the children lost their childhood and on the other hand, students are concerned about their career, future that seem bleak to them due to covid devastating impact on the economy.

one of the most significant reasons is finance and the need for funds. Students are concerned because the global pandemic has created havoc in the employment sector. This resulted in many job losses in the informal sector. As the country is closed so those earning money daily and business have to suffer. The question of school, college, and tuition fees is another issue. This, in turn, has been magnified in the lives of the students and the youth of the country. The financial crisis within the family has bothered almost the majority of the population, especially the students.

The very first concern is the digital divide. Accessibility of digital gadgets especially among the lower economic classes. Eventually, which means withdrawing from school to some students. Being already distorted by financial emergencies, the necessity of digital devices acts as a hindrance in the way of student learning. leading to many students dropping out from formal courses and institutes. increasingly pitted against the highly competitive labor market with most being trapped in the vicious cycle of underpaid labor or disguised unemployment.

The government too is not in a position to solve this problem of digital devices because of treatment and aid expenses.

this economic crisis has an unfortunate effect on the mind of the students. The financial dependence on the family, often severe, mostly reduces them as isolated victims. It also hinders the access to academic opportunities of the student. . Many family members getting affected and the huge expense occurs on treatment, amidst the acute scarcity of oxygen cylinders and other medical pieces of equipment.

The students are facing the problem of academic costs at the same time when a lump sum amount is required for admission failing which the seat might get canceled.

Further, the debt trap will lead to a greater burden in the future for repayment with interest, leading to more psychological suffering. The hostility between maintaining academic costs as well as fending for health expenditure has had severe effects on the young minds, putting their future and aspirations at stake. In this situation, a and well-planned approach is needed to address the issue of financial crisis which can be aided by the government.

SELF RELIANT INDIA

INTRODUCTION

As the covid 19 pandemic affected the whole world including India, Narendra Modi the prime minister of India has addressed the nation with the necessity of being Self-reliant. He emphasized that self-reliance was need of the hour. Modi coined the term on 12 May, 2020 in his address to nation with regard to the covid 19 pandemic. His focus was mainly on the absence of domestic production and that there is a need to improve the quality and supply of domestic production. Thus, he started the wave of Atma Nirbhar Abhiyaan (Self Reliant India Movement). In the long term race, this decision is seen as a very beneficial one but for a short term, it can be a slight pain for the country. The difficulties arise as the nation aims to boycott economic relations with China, when India imports $75 billion worth of goods every year from there. The mission has already taken pace with banning 59 apps from Chinese developers. But it doesnโ€™t just stop here; the centre has put 250 more applications under watch. The relations between the nations are sour since the Galwan Valley skirmish on 15 June, 2020 in which 20 brave soldiers sacrificed their lives. Many are of the view that the movement is a repackaged version of the Make in India launched by the Modi government in 2014.

The concept of being a self reliant nation does not mean that India will cut ties from rest of the world, says the Finance minister. โ€˜It doesnโ€™t mean isolating away from the world but playing a bigger role on the global economy.โ€™ says Ravi Shankar Prasad, the Law and IT minister.

WHAT DOES SELF RELIANT MEAN?

Self reliant India indicates the need to recognize the value of production at domestic level. The concept might seem similar to make in India but it has a vast horizon. It includes the slogan Vocal for Local which refers to be more attracted to local products. India is a developing country but there are many things which India lacks, like it has the second largest market for smartphones but produces a very little amount of the same. The movement aims to make India a bigger and more essential part of the economy. This is a great opportunity, especially after a brutal pandemic which left the people helpless. It will boost the economy and would help the country to reach new heights of development. The move has special importance as America a home to many companies seeks to shift business out of China, India can become home to Industries and MNCs. Many states have also eased the labour laws in order to give companies an exemption from them and attract investments. The prime minister also announced an economic package of Rs. 20 lakh crores focusing on cottage industries, MSMEs labourers, middle class and industries among others. Package of amount Rs. 20 lakh crores amounts to 10% of Indiaโ€™s GDP.

PMโ€™s 5 PILLARS OF ATMA NIRBHAR BHARAT

Modi has introduced 5 pillars to Atma Nirbhar Bharat, they are; Economy, Infrastructure, System, Demography and Demand. He focused on essence of local markets and supply. In the pandemic phase, the import and export of major supplies is not possible and so it is an important time for India to utilize this opportunity for the benefit of Nation. Modi has asked the nation turn this crisis into opportunity, giving an example of domestic production of PPE kits and N-95 masks. He believes that the vision of India of turning crisis into opportunity will be equally effective for our resolution of self-reliant India. He also explained that the decision is not self centered but will improve the dynamic performance of India before the world, โ€œThe culture and tradition of India speaks of self-reliance and the soul is Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. India does not advocate self-centric arrangements when it comes to self-reliance. India’s self-reliance is ingrained in the happiness, cooperation and peace of the world.โ€

Initiatives regarding Atmanirbhar Bharat:

  • India’s personal protective equipment (PPE) sector grew from zero before March, to around 1, 50,000 pieces a day by May. It is considered an inspiring example of a self-reliant India. The PPE industry of India became worth โ‚น7,000 crore (US$980 million) in two months, the second largest after industry in China.
  • IIT Alumni Council setup the largest fund in the country worth โ‚น21,000 crore (US$2.9 billion) with the aim of supporting the mission towards self-reliance.
  • Reliance Jio announced the India’s own ‘Made in India’ 5G networks in July 2020. Mukesh Ambani announced in mid-July “Jio has created a complete 5G solution from scratch that will enable us to launch a world-class 5G service in India, using 100 per cent homegrown technologies and solutions”.
  • For the first time, it was announced that Apple would manufacturer one of their premium I-Phone models in India itself in July 2020, Chinese media also debunked misinformation related to Apple entirely shifting out of China.

CONCLUSION

Even in the phase of a virus outbreak, India cannot stop building itself. A crisis led to the birth of a new opportunity to India. This will not only help the country but the citizens to grow by reducing unemployment and poverty. It will help the health sector, agriculture sector, infrastructure and many more to grow and reach the world. The road to the same will not be easy but still with full determination the country can achieve its aim to become self reliant. After a total shutdown of the economy, a revival of the same is important and can be achieved by growing even more. The government hopes for the better and have set an aim of gasification of 100 million tons of coal by 2030 with an investment of Rs 20,000 crore. This will help our country to reach a new level in the world economy. This cannot be only fulfilled by the government but requires a great role of the citizens.

The Year 2021, this year seems like giant waves of oceans going down and down. Our country gets badly downtrodden due to the social, political, and economic issues that continue to prevail, due to an invisible enemy in the form of the deadly virus.

This virus shows no mercy to anyone doesn’t matter which class, culture, and religion person belongs to; it spares no one. As the cases went up, so did the false WhatsApp forwards, chaos, panic-buying, and fear among people. The increased cases and dilemma is frightful people. As people taking hurt over their mental health, too.

From the news of unknown viruses to fearing even a slight increase in body temperature, to look for medicines and oxygen cylinders, people have experienced it all. In the beginning. To โ€˜deal with a spontaneous and devastating situation the Indian government announced an out-and-out 40-day lockdown. Everything came to a standstillโ€”except divisive journalism and discrimination.

While most people donโ€™t have the privilege and luxury to stay home, quarantine isnโ€™t a blessing for many. it lead rise in mental illness since the coronavirus outbreak. The level of stress and anxiety has heightened.

The apprehension about job security, draining of savings, or unavailability of basic things for survival, ambiguity. People who were already suffering from mental illnesses looked upon engaging themselves in outdoor activities and meeting their dear ones as the only coping mechanism. Now they have no option but to dive into the same misery they were battling. along with that crimes such as theft, murder, extortion, molestation, etc., are increasing at an unpredicted rate

COVID-19 is just not another death-dealing health hazard. It has more profound implications that society would have to bear post lockdown too.

NON-ALIGNED MOVEMENT: STILL RELEVANT TODAY?

The RAPID DECOLONISATION process that followed after the SECOND WORLD WAR brought into existence numerous states in AFRICA, ASIA, and THE CARRIBBEAN which were mostly SMALL or MIDDLE-SIZED and were UNDERDEVELOPED and POLITICALLY WEAK. They faced twin tasks of NATION-BUILDING as well as TACKLING the INTERNAL dissenting forces within their societies. Alongside they had a HERCULEAN task of COPING up with UNDERDEVELOPMENT and working towards DEVELOPMENT. It is these nations whose governments came together under the Umbrella of the NON-ALIGNED MOVEMENT (NAM).

The NON-ALIGNED MOVEMENT (NAM) belongs to the DEVELOPING WORLD and is a COALITION of SMALL and MIDDLE-SIZED STATES of the DEVELOPING WORLD, mostly “FORMER COLONIES”. Taking its roots from the BELGRADE CONFERENCE in 1961 with the participation of 25 countries, NAM has grown over the years through several conferences and now more than 100 countries are its members. The NON- ALIGNED MOVEMENT (NAM) is a forum of 120 developing world states that are not formally aligned with or against any major power bloc. The MOVEMENT originated in the 1950s, as an efforts by some countries to avoid the POLARISED WORLD of the COLD WAR between COMMUNIST and CAPITALIST STATES. The BANDUNG CONFERENCE of 18-24 APRIL 1955 in INDONESIA was an AFRO- ASIAN CONFERENCE, and it marked the beginning of the NON-ALIGNMENT MOVEMENT although it was formally initiated at the BELGRADE CONFERENCE in 1961. Post- Second World War also witnessed the outbreak of COLD WAR resulting in the hostilities of the two major powers, THE UNITED STATES and THE SOVIET UNION. The COLD WAR was further fuelled when the USA adopted a policy of CONTAINMENT OF COMMUNISM throughout the world, as the USSR was doing the same. The newly independent states that wanted to tide over their own problems of development and shared a similar kind of EXPLOITATIVE COLONIAL PAST, wanted to belong to neither of the camps and envisioned a POSITION OF NEUTRALITY- NON ALIGNMENT. The NAM originated under the leadership of JAWAHARLAL LAL NEHRU (INDIA), MARSHAL TITO ( YUGOSLAVIA), KUSNO SUKARNO (INDONESIA), KWAME NKRUMAH (GHANA), and GAMAL ABDEL NASSER (EGYPT). They forged a strong coalition of states from ASIA, AFRICA, EUROPE, THE ARAB WORLD and LATIN AMERICA and the CARRIBBEAN. NEHRU made it very clear, that INDIA would belong to ONE-CAMP- “THE CAMP OF PEACE” “GOODWILL” and “COOPERATION”. The NON-ALIGNED countries devised a flexible organisational structure and they meet from time to time in different regions of the world to garner support for some specific issues and also to promote their objectives. The NAM has been a major Movement in INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS, primarily aiming at changing the existing GLOBAL STRUCTURE and creating a more JUST, EQUAL AND PEACEFUL WORLD ORDER. In essence, it is an ANTI- IMPERIALIST MOVEMENT. WHAT ARE ITS OBJECTIVES? Well, there are many OBJECTIVES OF NAM, BUT listed some of the important ones:. * Peace and disarmament, especially the reduction of tensions between the major powers. * Independence, including the right of self-determination of all colonial peoples and the RIGHT OF EQUALITY BETWEEN ALL RACES. * ECONOMIC EQUALITY, and many more! The NON-ALIGNED MOVEMENT (NAM) which was born in the backdrop of the COLD WAR TENSIONS between the two super powers, worked for PEACE, COOPERATION, SECURITY, DISARMAMENT, INDEPENDENCE, DEVELOPMENT, among NATIONS. There have been many questions amongst various scholars and writers about the relevance of NAM today. IS IT STILL RELEVANT TODAY? EVEN AFTER THE END OF COLD WAR? WELL, why this question even arises? Perhaps it will be not an exaggeration to say that today we are living in an all together- new world! The breaking up of USSR into 15 new REPUBLICS, the UNITED GERMANY and a new EUROPE as a new socio-economic, political entity. Some people argue that, the NON-ALIGNED MOVEMENT (NAM) was the product of the COLD WAR and BIPOLAR ISM: and that since the COLD WAR Is ended, and SOVIET UNION is no more, NAM has lost its RELEVANCE. According to some others, the task approached by the NAM , has been accomplished. For instance, COLONIES have gained INDEPENDENCE leading to no more COLONIZATION OF COLONIES, APARTHEID is being dismantled, the COLD WAR IS ENDED. SO, hence, there was no need and relevance of it.

But, as we say there are always two sides of COIN: and hence, RELEVANCE OF NAM can be classified as follows: *Earlier, the NAM was a POLITICAL MOVEMENT, but now the movement is shifting it’s Political concept to ECONOMIC. It is also true that the BIPOLARITY of the world is ENDED, after the COLD WAR but still, the world has an economic gap between the DEVELOPED AND THE DEVELOPING COUNTRIES. Obviously, as long as the ECONOMIC GAP exists between these countries, the NAM continues as RELEVANT in today’s world order too! * NAM continues to hold relevance,to maintain WORLD PEACE! It mainly aims to establish a peaceful and prosperous world. * NAM as an international organization is still relevant due to its principles. The idea of preserving the INDEPENDENCE of every NATION, to save it’s TERRITORIAL INTEGRITY and SOVEREIGNTY still holds its relevance.

Hence, in the end we can say that NAM can never be irrelevant. As whatever the world is- MULTIPOLAR, UNIPOLAR, OR BIPOLAR, NON-ALIGNMENT as a FOREIGN POLICY of the THIRD WORLD STATES will continue to remain Valid. Therefore, it is still believed that the NAM has significant relevance in the present day world.

Child labour

Child labor is against the law to force a small child to be work. In India, as in many industries, to force the children to work illegally. Among the many branches of agriculture, it will attract more and more children to take part in the farming to earn their living. Eighty-five per cent of the children are from rural areas of India, as is the case on the basis of a variety of social factors, which do not suit their way of life.
On the elimination of child labour, many of the provisions of a constitution were adopted. In spite of this, many children are involved in hazardous working conditions. Many of the children are usually taken to be the education of paid work in order to earn a living for their families. In a cruel world is robbing them of their childhood, the joys of life.

Causes of child labour:

Poverty
Poverty is one of the most important causes of child labour. In developing countries, poverty is a big drawback, and that is a child, and the first to be sent here to lend a helping hand in order to provide for their families, and their families, support themselves

needs:
Some industries, such as the production of a bracelet, delicate hands, and little fingers need to be completely superb, perfection and precision

Sentence:
What is the penalty for the use of children in conflict with the law? Each and every person who employs a child under 14 years of age, or children between the ages of 14 and 18, which is a very dangerous job, or a process, which can be the cษ™zalandฤฑrฤฑla in prison, a sentence of imprisonment of six months to two years and/or a fine of Rs 20,000 to Rs 50,000.

Enlightenment as a mass betrayal

The radio, newspaper, and TV. All are mediums of communication. They all were invented to enlighten human beings. Every creation has its purpose So they have. It’s true that for daily information we depend on this medium but does this products assisting us. Or it’s just deception. The reality is they are a tool in hands of cooperation to earn profit. And increase their business. Providing information is just a business. we get only that much information that cooperates giants want. As half of the media is dominated by politicians and giant cooperates. That influences their credibility. Hard to believe but this is a bitter truth. this invention acts like a tool in those hand who have money. consumerism is created intentionally through media in the form of advertisement. Advertisement creates a desire in human beings. This desire resulted in more consumption thus adding profit to the big giants. That shows how people are betrayed. Today content is created in such a way that doesn’t make a person intellectual. But merely a passive consumer.
In this gamble and deception, along with corporate giants, politicians are also involved. They use the mediums to propagate their message. Thus people consider the propagated message as truth. Start believing it and thus there ideology and perspective got to change. These tactics can be a hindrance to the democracy and sovereignty of the country. The enlightenment that media promise somehow vanishes because of the huge enrollment of money. People themself need to enlighten. By becoming the active audience by actively analyzing, understanding every message. We can be saved from this mass deception through the mass medium. Just we need to be vigilant in our approach whenever we encounter a media product. we need to understand the hidden motive behind that content. We need to know who is the creator of the content. And what purpose the content fulfills for the creator. Thus content by media or medium of communication needs to be observed. To better understand them. To save ourselves from enlightenment as mass deception.

โ€œOnline Education and Digital Divideโ€

ย

Recently our Union minister Prakash Javadekar said in the Lok Sabha, โ€œNo child was deprived of online education during the pandemic as the government had taken several steps in that direction.โ€ Such a statement is nothing but a mere lie when we encounter reality.

A majority of Indian school students do not have the means or privilege for online education. Some face network and technical glitches. Some face electricity problem. The non-availability of gadgets is another problem. Accessible and compulsory education has always been a challenge in India. Right to education is something that is written merely on paper not exist in the real world. The pandemic broadened the pre-existing gap making online education a commodity of sheer privilege. During the lockdown, thousands of students have suffered due to the digital divide. Taking the example of the Indian state with the highest literacy rate, Kerala witnessed numerous cases where students took away their lives due to a lack of accessibility to digital tools. sometimes Internet accessibility act as a hindrance.

the obvious failure of the system and concerned authorities witnessed from the devastating act of suicide by the students. Not just that; for powering devices, access to electricity is crucial for digital education. Some states such as Bihar and Uttar Pradesh have a severe problem with electricity.

In the rural area, the houses received electricity for less than 12 hours a day. most of Indiaโ€™s population lives in villages where only 15% of rural households have access to internet services. Whereas in urban areas, itโ€™s 42%. Moreover, India witnessed a spike in unemployment during the lockdown affecting the livelihood of millions.

Especially compulsion of electronic gadgets for online education became a severe problem as in rural areas subsistence is very difficult. Not every rural person could afford expensive gadgets. In most households with a meager income, eating three meals a day was not guaranteed, purchasing costly internet plans or devices cost them a fortune. From mortgaging assets to cutting off on essential household expenses, families have done it all to make online education a possibility when the government schemes failed to reach the neediest.

Although several NGOs, social groups, and individuals rose to link this digital gap by sponsoring smartphones and laptops, the negligence by the authorities canโ€™t be overlooked. An ordinary Indian citizen expects its government is to at least acknowledge the problem. After all, how will one solve the problem if one does not acknowledge it!

Impact of Social Media

  1. The Impact of Social Media on Politics
A new study from Pew Research claims that about one in five U.S. adults gets their political news primarily through social media. The study also finds that those who do get their political news primarily through social media tend to be less well-informed and more likely to be exposed to unproven claims that people who get their news from traditional sources. In comparison to other media, the influence of social media in political campaigns has increased tremendously. Social networks play an increasingly important role in electoral politics โ€” first in the ultimately unsuccessful candidacy of Howard Dean in 2003, then in the election of the first African-American president in 2008, and again in the Twitter-driven campaign of Donald Trump. The New York Times reports that โ€œThe election of Donald J. Trump is perhaps the starkest illustration yet that across the planet, social networks are helping to fundamentally rewire human society.โ€ Because social media allows people to communicate more freely, they are helping to create surprisingly influential social organizations among once-marginalized groups.
  2. The Impact of Social Media on Society
Almost a quarter of the worldโ€™s population is now on Facebook. In the U.S., nearly 80% of all internet users are on this platform. Because social networks feed off interactions among people, they become more powerful as they grow. Thanks to the internet, each person with marginal views can see that heโ€™s not alone. And when these people find one another via social media, they can do things โ€” create memes, publications, and entire online worlds that bolster their worldview, and then break into the mainstream.Without social media, social, ethical, environmental, and political ills would have minimal visibility. Increased visibility of issues has shifted the balance of power from the hands of a few to the masses. The flipside: Social media is slowly killing real activism and replacing it with โ€˜slacktivismโ€™While social media activism brings an increased awareness about societal issues, questions remain as to whether this awareness is translating into real change. Some argue that social sharing has encouraged people to use computers and mobile phones to express their concerns on social issues without actually having to engage actively with campaigns in real life. Their support is limited to pressing the โ€˜Likeโ€™ button or sharing content.
This passivity is a very human reaction when people are given options that absolve them from the responsibility to act. A 2013 study by the University of British Columbiaโ€™s Sauder School of Business found that when people are presented with the option of โ€˜likingโ€™ a social cause, they use this to opt-out of actually committing time and money to a charitable cause. On the other hand, when people are allowed to show support in private, they are more likely to offer meaningful support by making a financial contribution. The researchers found that a public endorsement is meant to satisfy othersโ€™ opinions, whereas people who give in private do so because the cause is aligned to their values. This peer pressure may be a factor in the recent trend of political polls in the U.S. to misread voter intentions: people who respond to the polls may be answering how they think the pollsters expect or the way they think will please their peers, but in the privacy of the voting booth (or at home with a mail-in ballot), they vote according to their true preferences.
  3. The Impact of Social Media on Commerce
The rise of social media means itโ€™s unusual to find an organization that does not reach its customers and prospects through one social media platform or another. Companies see the importance of using social media to connect with customers and build revenue.Businesses have realized they can use social media to generate insights, stimulate demand, and create targeted product offerings. These functions are important in traditional brick-and-motor businesses and, obviously, in the world of e-commerce.Many studies suggest implementing social networks within the workplace can strengthen knowledge sharing. The result is to improve project management activities and enable the spread of specialized knowledge. Fully implementing social technologies in the workplace removes boundaries, eliminates silos, and can raise interaction and help create more highly skilled and knowledgeable workers.
  4. The Impact of Social Media on the World of Work
Social media has had a profound effect on recruitment and hiring. Professional social networks such as LinkedIn are important social media platforms for anyone looking to stand out in their profession. They allow people to create and market a personal brand.Nineteen percent of hiring managers make their hiring decisions based on information found on social media. According to CareerBuilder’s 2018 social media recruitment survey, 70 percent of employers use social networking sites to research job candidates.
  5. The Impact of Social Media on Training and Development
Job candidates who develop skills in the latest and most advanced social media techniques are far more employable.A 2020 survey by OnePoll on behalf of Pearson and Connections Academy asked 2,000 U.S. parents and their high-school aged children about the โ€œnew normalโ€ of high school. Sixty-eight percent of students and 65% of their parents believe that social media will be a useful tool and part of the new high school normal.Blogs, wikis, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and podcasts are now common tools for learning in many educational institutions. Social media has contributed to the increase in long-distance online learning.Despite issues of lack of privacy and some instances of cheating among long-distance learners, this has not deterred social platforms from being used in education.

Cyber Attack

We are living in a digital era and now a days, almost everyone use computer and internet. Due to most of things are easily accessible online to us and we can perform various tasks digitally, our dependency on digital things has increased vastly, which has led to the increase in illegal computer activity, due to which people who are less aware of how things work in digital world are becoming venerable to such type of crimes. These crimes includes sharing of personal information publically or stealing of money from bank account.

A cyber-attack (which is usually performed by Cyber Criminals) is exploitation of computer systems, technology-dependent organizations and networks. Cyber-attacks use malicious code to alter computer code, logic or data, resulting in consequences that can compromise data of user or organization and lead to cybercrime, like information and identity theft. The people who commit cybercrime are called as Cyber Criminals. They commit such crimes in hope of gathering important data, or generating profits, etc. Cyber Crime is punishable by law in India, According to the IT ACT.

Various types of Cyber Attacks:

Cyber Attack can be classified into two Categories which are:

  • Web Based Attack
  • System Based Attack

Web Based Attack:

These are the attacks which occur on a website or web applications. It can be further classified into following type of attacks:

  • Injection Attack: It is the attack in which some data will be injected into a web application to manipulate the application and fetch the required information. E.g. SQL Injection, code Injection, log Injection, XML Injection etc.
    • SQL Injection – The cybercriminal exploits a vulnerability by inserting a malicious SQL statement in an entry field. The system does not filter the user input correctly for characters in an SQL statement. Criminals use SQL injection on websites or any SQL database.
    • XML Injection – an XML injection is an attack that can corrupt the data. After the user provides input, the system accesses the required data via a query. The problem occurs when the system does not properly scrutinize the input request provided by the user. Criminals can manipulate the query by programming it to suit their needs and can access the information on the database.
  • DNS Spoofing: In this a data is introduced into a DNS resolver’s cache causing the name server to return an incorrect IP address, diverting traffic to the attackerโ€™s computer or any other computer. The DNS spoofing attacks can go on for a long period of time without being detected and can cause serious security issues.
  • Session Hijacking: It is a security attack on a user session over a protected network. Web applications create cookies to store the state and user sessions. By stealing the cookies, an attacker can have access to all of the user data.
  • Phishing: It is a type of attack which attempts to steal sensitive information like user login credentials and credit card number. It occurs when an attacker is masquerading as a trustworthy entity in electronic communication.
  • Denial of Service: It is an attack which meant to make a server or network resource unavailable to the users. It accomplishes this by flooding the target with traffic or sending it information that triggers a crash. It uses the single system and single internet connection to attack a server.
  • Man in the Middle Attack: It is a type of attack that allows an attacker to intercepts the connection between client and server and acts as a bridge between them. Due to this, an attacker will be able to read, insert and modify the data in the intercepted connection.

System Based Attack:

These are the attacks which are intended to compromise a computer or a computer network. Some of the system-based attacks are:

  • Sniffing: Sniffing is similar to eavesdropping. Criminals can do network sniffing with a software application, hardware device, or a combination of the two. Sniffing views all network traffic and it can target a specific protocol, service, or even string of characters such as a login or password.
  • Spoofing: Spoofing is an impersonation attack, and it takes advantage of a trusted relationship between two systems. If two systems accept the authentication accomplished by each other, an individual logged onto one system might not go through an authentication process again to access the other system. An attacker can take advantage of this arrangement by sending a packet to one system that appears to have come from a trusted system. Since the trusted relationship is in place, the targeted system may perform the requested task without authentication.
  • Trojan-Horse: It is a malicious program that occurs unexpected changes to computer setting and unusual activity, even when the computer should be idle. It misleads the user of its true intent. It appears to be a normal application but when opened/executed some malicious code will run in the background.
  • Worm: It is a type of malware whose primary function is to replicate itself to spread to uninfected computers. It works same as the computer virus.
  • Virus: It is a type of malicious software program that spread throughout the computer files without the knowledge of a user. It is a self-replicating malicious computer program that replicates by inserting copies of itself into other computer programs when executed. It can also execute instructions that cause harm to the system.
  • Buffer Overflow: It occurs when data goes beyond the limits of a buffer. Buffers are memory areas allocated to an application. By changing data beyond the boundaries of a buffer, the application accesses memory allocated to other processes. This can lead to a system crash, data compromise, or provide escalation of privileges.
  • Zero Day Attack: Itis a computer attack that tries to exploit software vulnerabilities that are unknown or undisclosed by the software vendor to the public.

Midnightโ€™s children-Autobiography of the refuted characters

Salman Rushdie has painted all the characters of this novel with dexterity. Postcolonial imagery has been masterfully depicted in this novel. The ideological aspect of being born at midnight has been efficiently described. Getting innate magical power is one of the aspects of this novel. Born in the middle of the night and gaining the freedom to be a citizen of independent India, has been described with expertise. The characterization of Salim and Padma has strongly increased the predominance of this novel. One of the major observations in the history of Indian independence has emerged here.

โ€˜Midnightโ€™s childrenโ€™ refers to those who are in the middle of two completely different times. Itโ€™s a story about the transfer of different edges and with these come the direction of historical observation. Political persuasion has been evident strongly. The dual expression of fear and courage, an indomitable desire not to be invincible are sort of insight here. Inquisitive behaviour of the characters and their transfer are self-assimilation of themselves.

The spiritual manifestation of the authorโ€™s self-vision has been proclaimed through illustration. The pre and post independence precedents of independence are given entirely in this text.

June # The Pride Month

June is declared as the Pride Month to celebrate and create awareness about the LGBTQ+ Community. LGBTQ stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer. The Rainbow flag is LGBTQ Pride Flag, the colors represent the diversity of the community. The flag has been redesigned this year to include intersex people to the movement which was led by Valentine Vecchietti of Intersex Equality Rights UK.

The whole Pride month will be organized with various events, activities and initiatives to make people proud of themselves for what they are and shout out to the society with pride for their rights and show to the society the changes that have happened so far and those yet to happen.

Origin:

The Pride Month is celebrated now because of the riot that happened in the past. ‘The Stonewall Uprising’ took place in New York on 28th June, 1969. American Constitution had laws banning homosexuality back then, the New York police often raided Queer bars and clubs and harassed Queer community people. Stonewall Inn was one of the most famous bar that allowed people to be themselves, it was raided frequently too but on that particular day the queer people did not take the slap and fought back which has brought changes in the world for better. The year after the riot, 1st Official Pride Parade took place on the Anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, with Christopher Street Liberation Day and the Parade is continued every year as a Tradition till date.

In INDIA:

Kolkataโ€™s Pride march on 2nd July 1999 is the first ever march that was organized in India and it was called โ€˜The Kolkata Rainbow Pride Walkโ€™. There were only about 15 participants in the event. The year 2018 was the joyous year for the pride parade as the article 377 was shattered down and the LGBTQ+ community all over the country marched as freer citizens that year. After removal of the article many came out of their closet and opened up. India is still more conservative and the discrimination against LGBT community is prevailing. This situation could be changed by educating in schools, colleges and creating more awareness in the society and making people understand about the community.

Everyone should take pride in supporting, spreading love and knowledge about the LGBTQ+ People.

Nepotism in today’s Bollywood

we are living in a feudal society, but still, nepotism permeates everyone. however, the film industry is trapped in nepotism.
Nepotism can be defined as an act of using power or position in an unethical manner to get the dear ones in the same field. It not only exists in business but also in the Bollywood industry. this topic has been raised many times in the Bollywood industry and unfortunately having a negative impact rather than a positive impact on the lives of celebrities. Before the incident of Sushant Singh Rajput, this topic was not discussed seriously. But after his death, Bollywood was trapped in nepotism and many celebrities were interrogated. many celebrities talked about nepotism openly. Some talked positively and some in a negative manner.
Kangana Ranaut came into the industry in 2006 with the movie Gangster. She was the one to raise this topic negatively as she labelled filmmaker Karan Johar as the flag bearer of nepotism in the show Koffee with Karan. Due to this, she gained prominence. She also called Tapsee Panu and Swara Bhaser outsider. After Sushant Singh Rajput death many actors were trolled and questioned on nepotism . Because of this, many celebrities also lost fan following.
We often say that some star kids are excellent actors and done their work very well. But we said some not all because some star kids don’t take their work seriously and due to the lack of seriousness films get flopped. Nothing is wrong with exercising power based on one’s family background/star kids, but at least chance should be given to the newcomers or outsiders and even to those who don’t have any connections or godfather in Bollywood. So, they can make their names and show their talent to the public.

Real Happiness

Today in this consumerist world, the actual meaning and definition of happiness got changed. Earlier the happiness lies within the relations between the people. But growing industrialization and materialistic nature. Change the meaning of happiness for common people. today’s happiness is not the smile of the people. But the luxury became the source of joy and happiness. Social media and the internet managed to make human beings individualistic. Relation and ties among the masses are just a matter of messages. The real happiness now lies in materials and luxuries. Humans want more and more. The never-ending demand and grief of the human have wiped the concept of the real happiness. It changed its meaning. It alters its values. The early tradition, rituals, and get together don’t matter anymore. Today rituals are just a matter of fun. People don’t believe in meeting with each other. Humans today happy in the isolation. With all the materialistic objects and comfort. But if material and luxury are not happiness. Then what is happiness? It is something that we get after seeing someone happy. It is something we get after helping someone else. By looking after anyone else than yourself. It means keeping aside the greed and doing generous work. It means sidelining your sorrow, ego for someone else happiness. The sad fact is that today humans do not look after happiness. Now the happiness doesn’t matter to humans. Human is lost somewhere in the consumerist world. And so human happiness also lost.
The need of the time is to look for the real happiness. To realize that real happiness comes when you do something for someone else. Materialistic things can give you comfort and luxurious life. But it can’t give you that warmth that happiness that feeling that a real human being can give you. Human being need to understand his/her role as a human And need to look after other people to there dearest one. So that along with happiness ,humanity can be saved.

LAL BAHADUR SHASTRI AND THE MAKING OF INDIA.

LAL BAHADUR SHASTRI AND THE MAKING OF INDIA.

Amongst the most noteworthy โ€˜Satyagrahiโ€™, politician turned minister was the โ€œlittle manโ€ โ€“ LAL BAHADUR SHASTRI. Most people associate him as the second Prime Minister of INDIA for a brief period from 9th June 1964 to 11th January 1966 and seldom assess his importance on the basis of his Prime Ministerial period, but very few know about his previous political achievements. Therefore, in order to critically analyse his role in the making of India after independence, one has to consider from the very beginning of his political career.

LAL BAHADUR was born on 2nd October 1904 in Mughalsarai to SHARADA PRASAD and RAMDULARI DEVI. He lost his father when he was barely a year and a half old, for which his maternal grandfather HAZARI LAL took them to his house where Lal spent most of his childhood. He went to Harishchandra High School, it was here that Lal Bahadurโ€™s heart throbbed with patriotism under the guidance of his teacher and mentor, Nishkameshwar Prasad Misra. He listened to Mahatma Gandhi and Lokmanya tilakโ€™s speeches, being spellbound by their charisma, he realized there was no greater force than truth and justice. Thus, when Gandhiji started the Civil Disobedience Movement, Lal Bahadur not only left his school but also actively participated throughout the movement spreading the spirit of patriotism and nationalism. He then joined the Kashi Vidyapeeth – a nationalist school by patriots – where he took his degree in philosophy and came out as Lal Bahadur Shastri in 1926 to take up the responsibility of a nation builder.

He joined the Servants of the People Society founded by Lala Lajpat Rai in 1926 and became its third president after Purushottamdas Tondon. Tondon made him secretary of the District Congress Committee alongside his lifetime membership of the People Society. It was through these positions in Allahabad that Lal Bahadur carried out the first phase of his political career. He himself acknowledged, โ€œ It was due to life membership of the Servants of the People Society that I got an opportunity to serve my country the most. Society has been instrumental in inculcating in me the true meaning of the term โ€˜servants of peopleโ€™”. Lal Bahadur caught the attention of the congress โ€œ top brass โ€ when he was elected in the U.P Assembly and his Land Reform Report became the basis of the Land Reform Legislation in 1937. Even during the Quit India Agitation, where all the congress leaders were arrested, Lal Bahadur kept hiding and continued the congress โ€œundergroundโ€ work.

Lal Bahadur Shastri

His return from the jail in 1945 and the Independence of India marks the second phase of Lal Bahadurโ€™s political career. Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant appointed Lal Bahadur as one of his parliamentary secretaries. Impressed by his hard work and sincerity, Pant appointed him as the Police and Transport Minister in the Government when the position stood vacant. As the police and transport minister, he sought to bring a better understanding between the people and the Police Force. For this, he injected young men into the police cadre and created the Prantiya Raksha Dal – the second line of defence – which comprised young men from society who instilled a spirit of patriotism and discipline and years later fought the Chinese invaders bravely. He initiated nationalised road transport in UP, which established contact with the hitherto backward areas and brought trade and economic prosperity. He took a socially radical move by opening bus conducting jobs to women and enforced law and order with firmness and impartiality. When Nehru took over Congress Presidentship, he appointed Lal Bahadur as the General Secretary of the Congress Party Headquarters, which the latter accepted and moved to New Delhi in 1951.ย

Lal Bahadur proved his skills and sincerity for which he was straightway included in the central cabinet as the Railways and Transport Minister. Lal bahadur had to take up โ€œ the triple task of rejuvenating the railway administration and repairing the ravages of partition and providing more amenities to the ever-mounting number of passengers who were outstripping the capacity of the Indian railways.โ€ He rearranged the travelling classes, introduced reserved three and two-tier accommodations, third class air-conditioned chair car and electric fans for the third class compartments and even solved the food problem, thus, bringing extensive relief to middle-class passengers. To improve railway efficiency, an Efficiency Bureau was set up along with a Security Adviser and a Railway Protection Force and was even responsible for the reconstitution of new units such as South-Eastern and Central Railways. He constituted Railway Userโ€™s Consultative Committee at every level and in 1954-55, approved the Ganga Bridge Project Administration for the construction of road cum rail bridge across the Ganga. These measures led to the advancement of the previously neglected sphere of Railways and inaugurated the process of making India.

In the 1957 elections, Lal Bahadur was given the Ministry of Transport and Communication for a short period, where he brought some changes in administration in accordance with the then economy. He was then moved to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. His tenure saw remarkable progress in Commercial and Industrial fields. The Heavy Engineering Corporation was set up with the help of the Soviet Union and Czechoslovakia, Small Scale Enterprises and Industries were supported and Agro-Industries were encouraged. The Automobile Industry saw a boost in its output and these measures sought to eradicate the problem of Agricultural Unemployment and Underemployment. After the death of Home Minister, Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant in April 1961, he was appointed as the Union Minister for Home Affairs. In his new position, he faced the threat of Tara Singh in Punjab and the critical situation of Assam, whereย the former was a political demand; the latter arose out of language controversy. These turmoils threatened internal peace and order and disrupted the stability of the country.

Lal Bahadur was able to elope the problems and tactfully overcame the challenges. The Shastri formula was somewhat successful in re-establishing communal harmony in Assam, but the language problem was not only the โ€œapple of discordโ€ in Assam, rather generated tensions in other parts of the country, especially between the South and the North. He convened a National Integration Conference in New Delhi, where it was accepted that ultimately Hindi would become the national language but the need for continuation of English till the time Hindi was fully developed was also realised. The Conference set up a Permanent National Integration Council and appointed three committees, the Ashoka Mehta Committee, the Sampurnanand Committee, and the C. P Ramaswamy Aiyar Committee, to lay down the means to implement decisions. Lal Bahadur also devoted to administrative reform to curb corruption and inefficiency in the administration by setting up the Central Bureau of Investigation and appointed the Santhanam Commission. He even established the All India Board to promote the social and economic well-being of the most backward classes of India. In his tenure of the home ministry, he had to face the Chinese crisis and was to handle the state of emergency, where he is said to have played rather a โ€œpositive roleโ€. His consequent visit to Nepal and establishing a cordial relation with the country earned him great prestige in the national arena.

Lal Bahadur enjoyed the confidence and support of the majority of the ministers for his gentle personality and his hard work. Even Jawaharlal Nehru relied on Lal Bahadur for his assistance and made him a โ€œMinister without Portfolioโ€ in 1964 when he himself was seriously ill. Thus, when ultimately the โ€œbanyan treeโ€ fell, the question โ€œ After Nehru Who and What?โ€ became apparent. Between the two contestants, Morarji Desai and Lal Bahadur, the latter was appointed by the so-called โ€˜syndicateโ€™ and the chief ministers, as the next Prime Minister of India without any strife. As the Prime Minister of India, Lal Bahadur retained the predecessorโ€™s policy which he said, โ€œ is beneficial to India and will be for the country in the future.โ€ In his short tenure of 19 months of Prime Ministership, he had to face a lot of criticism along with problems. The main problems being Pakistan and Chinese invasions. In his dealings with the Chinese, he made it clear that the Colombo proposals alone could form the basis of talks and said โ€ we have gone to the utmost limit in accepting themโ€ and there was no going beyond them. He, however, appeared to be more flexible with Pakistan, calling them kin and kith of Indians and believed that the two countries should live together in peace and harmony. His policy towards China and Pakistan was โ€œone of persuasion without abandoning our basic principle.โ€

His main task as Prime Minister was to form his cabinet, which he did remarkably and brought Indira Gandhi into the cabinet as the Minister for Information and Broadcasting. Although his retention of Foreign Affairs evoked criticism, still he was highly accepted as the Prime Minister because of his โ€œpractical and vigorous policy to accelerate the economic growth of the country.โ€ Along with his Prime Ministerial Ship, he inherited aโ€ plateful of unresolved thorny problems.โ€ Since his tenure was the product of the โ€˜Syndicateโ€™ and some Chief Ministers, he owed to them, who by now acted as โ€œpowerful satrapsโ€ which ultimately slowed down the decision making and implementation process of the government. His tenure saw the food crisis affecting the economy where the prices increased 22% in 18 months. As an immediate action, he increased food import and spread the Fair Price Programme to the entire country. The Government established a Food Grain Trading Corporation, as an interim measure until the Agriculture Prices Commission took up the charge and an Adhoc Committee was appointed. The legislation was introduced for quality control of improved seeds and Irrigation along with Plant Protection was extended to the entire country. The initiation of the Green Revolution and the White Revolution also contributed to the improvement of the situation. The Prime Minister contributed to the rectification of the countryโ€™s development planning which was contributing to the problem of inflation. Even though the government was able to tackle some of the issues, the foreign exchange crisis and the southern language shook the foundation of the Shastri government.

The Kutch Incidents triggered from Jan 1965 between India and Pakistan which came to an end on July 1st with a cease-fire line. Pakistan again on September 1st, invaded Kashmir and war continued for 22 days, ultimately with the joint USA and USSR sponsored Security Council, adopted a resolution of cease-fire line from 22nd Sept. The international compulsion brought both Shastri and Ayub together at Tashkent under soviet premiere Alexie Kosygin. The Tashkent talks resulted in the signing of the famous Tashkent agreement on January 10, 1966, which ensured peace at that moment but failed to provide any permanent solution to the Kashmir issue. The governmentโ€™s spokesman explained that even though the agreement could not afford any solution to the Kashmir problem, still its significance lies in the fact that both the countries despite differences, pledged to live together in peace and harmony as good neighbours.

Unfortunately, the action that gained him huge popularity and the time which favoured his grip over the Prime Ministerial position came to an end because of his unprecedented death by cardiac arrest the next day, i.e, 11th Jan 1966. Thus came to an end, the brilliant career of an outstanding politician-cum-minister, whose great achievement was to lighten the Indian peopleโ€™s sinking spirits during the depressing years. Had he lived longer, he could have solved many knotty problems confronted by the country for which he remains to be criticised. The fact remains that during the first years Shastri confronted a series of crises that became the reason for his not getting time to rest back, think and formulate new policies. Thus, when he swam across the ” sea of troublesโ€, the critics narrated him as โ€œa prisoner of indecisionโ€. But from the start of his political career, his contribution for both the freedom movement and the making of aย self-reliant, independent country India, can never be ignored or neglected. And thus, โ€œthe little manโ€ from India will continue to be remembered by Indians forever.

Designing the Buyer Centric Funnel

In these industrial times, all the companies want to bait their customers, in fact for a much longer time than just one visit or purchase. This leads to continuous, relentless competition in the markets for the purpose of bagging more and more loyal customers. This is where the use of a Sales Funnel enters the talk. But is it possible to keep your customers devoted to your product without a well-designed, blockage-free funnel? The answer is โ€˜noโ€™.  A sales funnel signifies the path which is taken by a customer from being just an explorer of your product to being a loyal customer for a long time. Through this article, we will go into depths of a customerโ€™s psychology and get some insights on how to design a โ€œbuyer centric-funnelโ€.

Understanding the Funnel

The requirement of an effective method for better sales of a companyโ€™s product cannot be dismissed, keeping in view of the increase in a feud for loyal customers in the market. Also, with the coming up of e-commerce sites, grabbing a customerโ€™s attention will be the predominant field to work upon, for the sellers.

  1. Awareness- This is the key point that should be kept in mind while designing the funnel. Awareness does most of the work when it comes to putting the customer in a phase of scrutiny. To start with, we need to put forward a problem in front of the customer and provide a promising solution for the latter to build up the curiosity. At this stage, we wouldnโ€™t mention our product to the customer.
  2. Consideration- Here, we need our customer to get so intimate with the product that he/she starts knowing about it like the back of his/her hand. We need to give out demos, free trials, triggers and customer stories to the customer to build up their trust in our firm because, to sell to a customer, you have to barge into the thought process of a customer.
  3. Purchase- Now you have to sell the product to your buyer and assure your product stands out from the products of all your competitors.
  1. Get into your buyerโ€™s head- Thatโ€™s where the whole concept of โ€˜Understanding the buyerโ€™s psychologyโ€™ comes in. We need to ask ourselves questions like โ€œWhat inspires them to buy our product?โ€, โ€œHow can our product be a solution to their problems?โ€, โ€œHow can we redesign our product to fit their needs?โ€ and work on the answers to these questions.
  2. Slogans- Through close study, we come to a conclusion that firms with good slogans are doing better off in the market. The slogans and advertisements of these firms draw customers by getting stuck inside their brains.
  3.  Quality Maintenance- The quality of your product and extended benefits to loyal customers also gives your firm a new standing among the competitors. We also need to carefully appraise the field where our product fails to deliver and redesign it with wit.

Flipping the Sales Funnel refers to the process of retaining the loyal customers of the firm to gain new customers. Some firms in the market tend to forget its old customers in search of a bigger reach and new customers which lead to the degradation of the firmโ€™s reputation in the market.

To gain ground, we need to build new customers on top of the old ones which can be done by referrals of the consumers to one another. Referral and reputation go and hand in hand. In fact, referrals are the leading intermediary stage for building a good reputation for the firm. According to a survey, 92% of people trust referrals from people they know.

We also need to adapt to the new rules of the market and focus more on redesigning products according to the wants of our targets for our technique to be successful. Rewarding the everlasting customers will be a plus point to this.

The design of a proper sales funnel is the most crucial part for the firm and should be done with patience and sheer determination through proper study and fact consideration, for the firm to leave its mark in this market race.
