As per the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MEITy), social media platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, and Instagram have to follow the new Guidelines of government failing which can lead to a ban. guidelines were issued in February 2021, and social media platforms had around 3 months to acquire these guidelines. The companies are yet to respond to the Intermediary Guidelines. The decision taken due to the fake headlines do nothing but spread fear among people.
According to the constitution, India is a democracy at least on pen and paper. However, certain powerful people in the Central Government, to strengthen power, are now trying to silence free speech on social media. Free speech is a right granted to all human beings globally. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) recognizes it as a fundamental right. India happens to be one having this right. This means, Indian citizens should have access to this right, and itโs the governmentโs responsibility to see that this right is being protected.
Yet, these powerful individuals within the Central Government, have time and again gone to unbelievable measures to control this right.
. The disappointed young people of today turn to social media to express their objections about everything they found mistaken or unsuitable. Be it a person of any class, culture, community, and religion. everyone turns to the internet. And the only way to check these critics would be by introducing โAgreement Officersโ.That is exactly what the government has done through its intermediary guidelines to check whoโs saying what on the internet.
If this guideline came into being. There exists no mechanism for the common mass to raise their voices. The only time when the masses get to raise their voice is during the elections. But then again, itโs the media that controls the elections these days. Unfortunately, reporting is done in such a way that weโre persuaded in support of a particular political party. This plan, if achieved, will badly affect the very foundation of our democracy.
Criticism makes democracy strong. But these guidelines go against it.
Maybe government believes that criticism isnโt important anymore and hence has concluded that the internet should be controlled. Itโs dishonest of this country to say that other countries are trying to crush free speech.
The government needs to come into a discussion with the social media companies and the common people. But the government didn’t give a single thought to it. It is nothing but censorship in disguise.
Denial of granting protection to a couple who are in a live-in relationship only because it is socially and morally unacceptable. is it justified on the part of Punjab and Haryana High Court? The boy and the girl had been in a living relationship that goes against the girl’s parents will.
The couple asked for protection from the court for their life and liberty after being frightened by their families. Unfortunately, they were denied protection. the denial of their right under Article 21, in this case, is inappropriate. The judgment by the court seizes their identity as per Article 21 as well as the right to โlife or libertyโ.Article 21 declares that every individual has the right to their life or personal liberty. Therefore to secure their right the couple moved before the Punjab and Haryana High Court for the protection under Article 21, which is dismissed by the court on the ground of social and moral unacceptability. while rejecting the petition, the high court interpreted that the term โpersonโ means those who are recognized by law as being capable of having legal rights and being bound by legal duties, not a couple. After getting married, a man and woman are considered capable of having legal rights and duties known as rights in the institution of marriage. But only when the marriage has been done as per their respective marriage laws in force in India.
The denial of the right to life and liberty is completely inappropriate in the law. Since no law in India criminalizes pre-marriage, it would be more like legislation by the judiciary to hold pre-marriage illegal based on social morals. There is no force of law in an opinion that has been embraced by the conservative majoritarian masses of India who find it illegitimate. The decision rendered by the Punjab and Haryana High court erred in ascertaining the aforesaid point. In place of assistance, the couple became the subject of discrimination held by the conservative majoritarian masses.
Asbestos is a natural mineral constituted of soft and flexible fibers that are resistant to heat, electricity, and corrosion. These characteristics make the mineral valuable, but also make its exposure highly toxic. Asbestos removal is indispensable because it causes severe health problems such as cancer. Therefore internship and training have a significant place in a student’s life. Even Doctors and Engineers have to go through technical training before beginning their work.
Mental Illness during Pandemic. Covid19 pandemic hit the masses most severely mentally. The trauma from looking for the medicine, hospital beds to dealing with the mass of dead bodies, from being left jobless to mass migration and suffering. These all circumstances severely impacted our mental state. A tremendous number of people have lost their dear ones. And some are fighting for their life. While their loved ones and family are busy in the constant search of medicines and oxygen cylinders. Those who are safe are also suffering from mental illness by looking at their environment. Full of grief, devastation. This time is very hard. And financial crisis makes this problem. So many families especially of the lower class. Left without money and aid. Those who earn daily and labor are struggling a lot. These financial bottlenecks resulted in mental illness. Especially those students who are handling the digital divide. Faces stress and mental illness. All students couldn’t afford online education due to a lack of digital gadgets. That acts as a hindrance to the growth and education of unprivileged students. The cost of academic education and institution creates a financial burden for the students and the family. some can deal with it. But those who couldn’t eventually end up dropping out there college and institute. That leads to mental stress among the students. Recently, the cases of suicide by students increase manifold. That shows how mentally covid have impacted the students. Therefore cases of suicides are reported manifold. Students who are privilege enough. Also facing mental trauma. Online education also created an additional problem, technical glitches, electricity problems, access to devices, are major problems related to online education. That cause mental stress, headache as well as eyesight problems. This problem can be overcome through everyone’s participation. All need to contribute. By providing financial aid to the needy. And by including in the conversation as much as possible with our friends and family in this hard time. Chatting with each other acts as a medicine to cure the ailment of mental stress.
The covid pandemic not only impacted adults but students also. At one place the children lost their childhood and on the other hand, students are concerned about their career, future that seem bleak to them due to covid devastating impact on the economy.
one of the most significant reasons is finance and the need for funds. Students are concerned because the global pandemic has created havoc in the employment sector. This resulted in many job losses in the informal sector. As the country is closed so those earning money daily and business have to suffer. The question of school, college, and tuition fees is another issue. This, in turn, has been magnified in the lives of the students and the youth of the country. The financial crisis within the family has bothered almost the majority of the population, especially the students.
The very first concern is the digital divide. Accessibility of digital gadgets especially among the lower economic classes. Eventually, which means withdrawing from school to some students. Being already distorted by financial emergencies, the necessity of digital devices acts as a hindrance in the way of student learning. leading to many students dropping out from formal courses and institutes. increasingly pitted against the highly competitive labor market with most being trapped in the vicious cycle of underpaid labor or disguised unemployment.
The government too is not in a position to solve this problem of digital devices because of treatment and aid expenses.
this economic crisis has an unfortunate effect on the mind of the students. The financial dependence on the family, often severe, mostly reduces them as isolated victims. It also hinders the access to academic opportunities of the student. . Many family members getting affected and the huge expense occurs on treatment, amidst the acute scarcity of oxygen cylinders and other medical pieces of equipment.
The students are facing the problem of academic costs at the same time when a lump sum amount is required for admission failing which the seat might get canceled.
Further, the debt trap will lead to a greater burden in the future for repayment with interest, leading to more psychological suffering. The hostility between maintaining academic costs as well as fending for health expenditure has had severe effects on the young minds, putting their future and aspirations at stake. In this situation, a and well-planned approach is needed to address the issue of financial crisis which can be aided by the government.
The Year 2021, this year seems like giant waves of oceans going down and down. Our country gets badly downtrodden due to the social, political, and economic issues that continue to prevail, due to an invisible enemy in the form of the deadly virus.
This virus shows no mercy to anyone doesn’t matter which class, culture, and religion person belongs to; it spares no one. As the cases went up, so did the false WhatsApp forwards, chaos, panic-buying, and fear among people. The increased cases and dilemma is frightful people. As people taking hurt over their mental health, too.
From the news of unknown viruses to fearing even a slight increase in body temperature, to look for medicines and oxygen cylinders, people have experienced it all. In the beginning. To โdeal with a spontaneous and devastating situation the Indian government announced an out-and-out 40-day lockdown. Everything came to a standstillโexcept divisive journalism and discrimination.
While most people donโt have the privilege and luxury to stay home, quarantine isnโt a blessing for many. it lead rise in mental illness since the coronavirus outbreak. The level of stress and anxiety has heightened.
The apprehension about job security, draining of savings, or unavailability of basic things for survival, ambiguity. People who were already suffering from mental illnesses looked upon engaging themselves in outdoor activities and meeting their dear ones as the only coping mechanism. Now they have no option but to dive into the same misery they were battling. along with that crimes such as theft, murder, extortion, molestation, etc., are increasing at an unpredicted rate
COVID-19 is just not another death-dealing health hazard. It has more profound implications that society would have to bear post lockdown too.
The radio, newspaper, and TV. All are mediums of communication. They all were invented to enlighten human beings. Every creation has its purpose So they have. It’s true that for daily information we depend on this medium but does this products assisting us. Or it’s just deception. The reality is they are a tool in hands of cooperation to earn profit. And increase their business. Providing information is just a business. we get only that much information that cooperates giants want. As half of the media is dominated by politicians and giant cooperates. That influences their credibility. Hard to believe but this is a bitter truth. this invention acts like a tool in those hand who have money. consumerism is created intentionally through media in the form of advertisement. Advertisement creates a desire in human beings. This desire resulted in more consumption thus adding profit to the big giants. That shows how people are betrayed. Today content is created in such a way that doesn’t make a person intellectual. But merely a passive consumer. In this gamble and deception, along with corporate giants, politicians are also involved. They use the mediums to propagate their message. Thus people consider the propagated message as truth. Start believing it and thus there ideology and perspective got to change. These tactics can be a hindrance to the democracy and sovereignty of the country. The enlightenment that media promise somehow vanishes because of the huge enrollment of money. People themself need to enlighten. By becoming the active audience by actively analyzing, understanding every message. We can be saved from this mass deception through the mass medium. Just we need to be vigilant in our approach whenever we encounter a media product. we need to understand the hidden motive behind that content. We need to know who is the creator of the content. And what purpose the content fulfills for the creator. Thus content by media or medium of communication needs to be observed. To better understand them. To save ourselves from enlightenment as mass deception.
Recently our Union minister Prakash Javadekar said in the Lok Sabha, โNo child was deprived of online education during the pandemic as the government had taken several steps in that direction.โ Such a statement is nothing but a mere lie when we encounter reality.
A majority of Indian school students do not have the means or privilege for online education. Some face network and technical glitches. Some face electricity problem. The non-availability of gadgets is another problem. Accessible and compulsory education has always been a challenge in India. Right to education is something that is written merely on paper not exist in the real world. The pandemic broadened the pre-existing gap making online education a commodity of sheer privilege. During the lockdown, thousands of students have suffered due to the digital divide. Taking the example of the Indian state with the highest literacy rate, Kerala witnessed numerous cases where students took away their lives due to a lack of accessibility to digital tools. sometimes Internet accessibility act as a hindrance.
the obvious failure of the system and concerned authorities witnessed from the devastating act of suicide by the students. Not just that; for powering devices, access to electricity is crucial for digital education. Some states such as Bihar and Uttar Pradesh have a severe problem with electricity.
In the rural area, the houses received electricity for less than 12 hours a day. most of Indiaโs population lives in villages where only 15% of rural households have access to internet services. Whereas in urban areas, itโs 42%. Moreover, India witnessed a spike in unemployment during the lockdown affecting the livelihood of millions.
Especially compulsion of electronic gadgets for online education became a severe problem as in rural areas subsistence is very difficult. Not every rural person could afford expensive gadgets. In most households with a meager income, eating three meals a day was not guaranteed, purchasing costly internet plans or devices cost them a fortune. From mortgaging assets to cutting off on essential household expenses, families have done it all to make online education a possibility when the government schemes failed to reach the neediest.
Although several NGOs, social groups, and individuals rose to link this digital gap by sponsoring smartphones and laptops, the negligence by the authorities canโt be overlooked. An ordinary Indian citizen expects its government is to at least acknowledge the problem. After all, how will one solve the problem if one does not acknowledge it!
we are living in a feudal society, but still, nepotism permeates everyone. however, the film industry is trapped in nepotism. Nepotism can be defined as an act of using power or position in an unethical manner to get the dear ones in the same field. It not only exists in business but also in the Bollywood industry. this topic has been raised many times in the Bollywood industry and unfortunately having a negative impact rather than a positive impact on the lives of celebrities. Before the incident of Sushant Singh Rajput, this topic was not discussed seriously. But after his death, Bollywood was trapped in nepotism and many celebrities were interrogated. many celebrities talked about nepotism openly. Some talked positively and some in a negative manner. Kangana Ranaut came into the industry in 2006 with the movie Gangster. She was the one to raise this topic negatively as she labelled filmmaker Karan Johar as the flag bearer of nepotism in the show Koffee with Karan. Due to this, she gained prominence. She also called Tapsee Panu and Swara Bhaser outsider. After Sushant Singh Rajput death many actors were trolled and questioned on nepotism . Because of this, many celebrities also lost fan following. We often say that some star kids are excellent actors and done their work very well. But we said some not all because some star kids don’t take their work seriously and due to the lack of seriousness films get flopped. Nothing is wrong with exercising power based on one’s family background/star kids, but at least chance should be given to the newcomers or outsiders and even to those who don’t have any connections or godfather in Bollywood. So, they can make their names and show their talent to the public.
Today in this consumerist world, the actual meaning and definition of happiness got changed. Earlier the happiness lies within the relations between the people. But growing industrialization and materialistic nature. Change the meaning of happiness for common people. today’s happiness is not the smile of the people. But the luxury became the source of joy and happiness. Social media and the internet managed to make human beings individualistic. Relation and ties among the masses are just a matter of messages. The real happiness now lies in materials and luxuries. Humans want more and more. The never-ending demand and grief of the human have wiped the concept of the real happiness. It changed its meaning. It alters its values. The early tradition, rituals, and get together don’t matter anymore. Today rituals are just a matter of fun. People don’t believe in meeting with each other. Humans today happy in the isolation. With all the materialistic objects and comfort. But if material and luxury are not happiness. Then what is happiness? It is something that we get after seeing someone happy. It is something we get after helping someone else. By looking after anyone else than yourself. It means keeping aside the greed and doing generous work. It means sidelining your sorrow, ego for someone else happiness. The sad fact is that today humans do not look after happiness. Now the happiness doesn’t matter to humans. Human is lost somewhere in the consumerist world. And so human happiness also lost. The need of the time is to look for the real happiness. To realize that real happiness comes when you do something for someone else. Materialistic things can give you comfort and luxurious life. But it can’t give you that warmth that happiness that feeling that a real human being can give you. Human being need to understand his/her role as a human And need to look after other people to there dearest one. So that along with happiness ,humanity can be saved.
In these industrial times, all the companies want to bait their customers, in fact for a much longer time than just one visit or purchase. This leads to continuous, relentless competition in the markets for the purpose of bagging more and more loyal customers. This is where the use of a Sales Funnel enters the talk. But is it possible to keep your customers devoted to your product without a well-designed, blockage-free funnel? The answer is โnoโ. A sales funnel signifies the path which is taken by a customer from being just an explorer of your product to being a loyal customer for a long time. Through this article, we will go into depths of a customerโs psychology and get some insights on how to design a โbuyer centric-funnelโ.
The requirement of an effective method for better sales of a companyโs product cannot be dismissed, keeping in view of the increase in a feud for loyal customers in the market. Also, with the coming up of e-commerce sites, grabbing a customerโs attention will be the predominant field to work upon, for the sellers.
Awareness- This is the key point that should be kept in mind while designing the funnel. Awareness does most of the work when it comes to putting the customer in a phase of scrutiny. To start with, we need to put forward a problem in front of the customer and provide a promising solution for the latter to build up the curiosity. At this stage, we wouldnโt mention our product to the customer.
Consideration- Here, we need our customer to get so intimate with the product that he/she starts knowing about it like the back of his/her hand. We need to give out demos, free trials, triggers and customer stories to the customer to build up their trust in our firm because, to sell to a customer, you have to barge into the thought process of a customer.
Purchase- Now you have to sell the product to your buyer and assure your product stands out from the products of all your competitors.
Get into your buyerโs head- Thatโs where the whole concept of โUnderstanding the buyerโs psychologyโ comes in. We need to ask ourselves questions like โWhat inspires them to buy our product?โ, โHow can our product be a solution to their problems?โ, โHow can we redesign our product to fit their needs?โ and work on the answers to these questions.
Slogans- Through close study, we come to a conclusion that firms with good slogans are doing better off in the market. The slogans and advertisements of these firms draw customers by getting stuck inside their brains.
Quality Maintenance- The quality of your product and extended benefits to loyal customers also gives your firm a new standing among the competitors. We also need to carefully appraise the field where our product fails to deliver and redesign it with wit.
Flipping the Sales Funnel refers to the process of retaining the loyal customers of the firm to gain new customers. Some firms in the market tend to forget its old customers in search of a bigger reach and new customers which lead to the degradation of the firmโs reputation in the market.
To gain ground, we need to build new customers on top of the old ones which can be done by referrals of the consumers to one another. Referral and reputation go and hand in hand. In fact, referrals are the leading intermediary stage for building a good reputation for the firm. According to a survey, 92% of people trust referrals from people they know.
We also need to adapt to the new rules of the market and focus more on redesigning products according to the wants of our targets for our technique to be successful. Rewarding the everlasting customers will be a plus point to this.
The design of a proper sales funnel is the most crucial part for the firm and should be done with patience and sheer determination through proper study and fact consideration, for the firm to leave its mark in this market race.
“The best sales questions have your expertise wrapped into them.”
President Joe Biden has baited office in a country looking prominently different than it did on his forefather’s inauguration Day.Covid19 has killed more than 4,00,000 Americans, with a big part of socio-economic toll impute to federal Mismanagement, The US has also renounced its role as leader of the free world, squabbled with democratic allies while keeping authority populist’s everywhere, snicker at its post-truth misadventures. This month’s attack on the capital represented the domestic broadcast has poisoned the polity. In the short, the new administration has its work cut out invent correctives at multiple levels. It is a mighty challenge. But democracy is hypothetical on elections making a difference.
The promise of a new dawn is both powerful and credible. The diversity, temperance, and experience of the incoming cabinet strongly suggest that they have a good measure of the problems at hand, and the ambition to attempt solutions one clear aspirational target is 100 million doses of covid19 vaccines n the first 100 days. Then, Janet L Yellen, who will be the new treasury secretary and America’s top economic diplomat, has verbalized as priorities both addressing the economic damage of the pandemic at home and repairing relationships with various allies abroad to take on china’s (illegal, unfair and abusive practices) collectively. After the vain of institutions and Clutter or flailing seen in the Trump years, it will indeed take solid international cooperation to revitalize the global rules-based order. The incoming secretary of state Antony Blinking has shown a welcome so be saying,(We’ll engage the world, not as it was, but as it is)Pragmatically speaking, rebukes on human rights issues for India may be part and parcel of Washington’ liberal festival alongside the many Indian and American in the Biden Team.
Amongst covid-19 pandemic, 2021 budget has potential to increase women labor force participation up to 2 percent this year.
Nirmala Sitaraman, Minister of finance, the government of
India shared that budget 2021 has the potential to increase the employment of
women. COVID-19 pandemic had disproportionately impacted women
forcing them to drop out of the workforce. The women labor force participation according to the center comes down from 25 percent to 21 percent, due to job loss by women. Inurban India only 12 out of every 100 still employed are women, a shocking
statistic, down from the already low 18. No doubt the covid 19 pandemics have resulted in many challenges such as pay disparities and expensive child care is an economic downturn that hit women workers measurably harder than men. Whenever the economy shrinks people lose jobs, then look for another job but women arenโt sitting it out so much as being pushed out by disproportionate job loss,
lack of child care, pay disparities, and lack of public policy to support working women. women with children are much more likely to report that working from home has hurt their productivity and affected their careers .there are three drivers of increased women labor force participation 1.Jobs that exist in locations where the woman has family support.2) Contemporary and new skilling (like digital marketing, for instance) that allows for marketability3) A government mandate that enables small businesses to be rewarded for hiring more women. The allowance of women to work in all shifts is a move towards reducing the gender divide brought in by COVID-19. This will help industries such as IT and BPO in Special Economic Zone’s, manufacturing companies in sectors such as Textiles, Pharma- as well as large organizations with a national presence. The textile industry, one of India’s ancient industries that employ the largest numbers of women has received a big stimulus with the announcement of seven Textile Parks. The third aspect which would allow small businesses to be rewarded for hiring women has not seen any pull in any of the budgets presented in the few last years. Large organizations in metropolitan cities have already bought the business case for both genders that led to women’s employment being enhanced. It is the 2 and 3 level metropolitan citiesand towns that need the influence of involvement. And this is where there is alarge population of women – educated, career-seeking, and yet unable to earn
reasonable money due to the non-availability of jobs matching their aspirations. As per data, young women in the age group of 20-24 across urban locales, are more interested in being employed than similar-aged women in rural India. As such, this is a very important talent pool, waiting to be engaged. The BPO and micro-enterprises in these locations will require a stimulus to engage women more proactively. Had the budget addressed this, by providing a bit small, yet encouraging a sum of money to employers of women, India would have seen a jump in women’s job creation to almost double-digit increases, which will have a multiplier effect on the economy.
Identifiable living individual and includes names, email Ids, ID card numbers, physical and IP addresses. Data is the large collection of information that is stored in a computer or on a network. Data is collected and handled by entities called data fiduciaries. The processing of this data has become an important source of profits for big corporations. Companies, governments, and political parties find it valuable because they can use it to find the most convincing ways to advertise online. The physical attributes of data where data is stored, where it is sent, where it is turned into something useful are called data flows.
WhatsAppโs decision to delay the update of its privacy policy, following a backlash from its users, is an implicit acknowledgement of the increasing role played by perceptions about privacy in the continued well-being of a popular service. Problems for the Facebook-owned app started earlier this January when it announced an update to its terms of service and privacy policy, according to which users would no longer be able to opt out of sharing data with Facebook.
February 8 was kept as the deadline for the new terms to be accepted. This triggered a mass withdrawal from WhatsApp, the likes of which it has never encountered, not even in the aftermath of the Cambridge Analytical scandal, which did bring a lot of bad press to its parent, or when the messaging appโs co-founders called it quits a few years ago. The WhatsApp policy update has clearly spooked many users, who, concerned about their privacy getting compromised, have shifted to alternative platforms such as Signal and Telegram. WhatsApp has asked for data which contains your account information such as Phone number, the name attached to the account, the profile photo you currently have for WhatsApp, the device you are using, the time when you have been online, all your contacts, all group names of which you are a part of, the device type, the IP address, device build number, device manufacturer, details of the web/desktop version and the platform which is used for WhatsApp Web, your Status.
It also has the exact time when you set the current profile photo and the current status message. The list includes all contacts with whom you would have chatted on WhatsApp, and only the mobile phone numbers are mentioned. It also has your settings for the app, including the privacy settings for Last Seen, Profile Photo, About Privacy
and Status Privacy. It also includes a list of the all numbers you have blocked and whether you have Read Receipt on or off. The issue has once again raised questions about what constitutes legitimate uses of data and how businesses, governments and political parties can and cannot use data .A White Paper produced by a government-appointed committee, headed by retired judge B.N. Srikrishna , which is formulating a national data protection law for India and its people to safeguard there interest.
Media, the fourth pillar of democracy act like a puppet in front of politicians lately. With many toolkits, cases highlight. Excessive paid news reporting during Election. Exhibits how media is governed by political parties. Today massive advertisement by the political parties shows the nexus between media and political parties. Showcase their close economic connections. Media also alleged for running agenda and propaganda for their allied politician during elections. Which hampered the credibility of the media. Many journalists appear to favor their alleged political parties openly in their text, report, and debate. Even the questions asked in interviews are biased one sustaining only one side or party. Its been observed during elections, this funding increase manifold. To dominate media investment partnership, toolkit, gifts, privileges are some tactics that political parties used without coming into suspicion. Such malpractice is performed by political parties to bribe the Media. To use it as a weapon during election campaigns. witnessed in the way media seems divided in their message. They showcase only the positive side of their party, their positive work shaping the idea and ideology of the common people. Media runs agenda and propaganda to deviate audience from the basic problem of the society and shift towards the direction their funders want. media propagates only those messages there supportive parties want. Maximum paid news reports are linked with political parties. Many politician leaders names are highlighted and summoned by the election campaign. But lack of proof and unwillingness lead to no fruitful result. And no severe action was taken place. Now media listen and write only what there investor wants. The incomplete, partial and biased information shared by the news channel became a hindrance for the sovereignty of the country. Severe actions and identification of the political parties became the necessity of time. the large number of manipulation on the part of the media shows that it has lost the credibility and trust that people have in them prior. Passive audience are consuming the biased or manufactured message that can hamper the autonomy and sovereignty of the country.ย Nowadays, Beside politicians many private institutions and cooperate giants seem to invest their large chunks in the media .For example, Mukesh Ambani, his family and friends owned INXย Media recently. That show media became a puppet now.

Unity and Sovereignty of India.
Individual freedom.

The Bills regarding amendment of Constitution can only be passed by the Parliament itself. But the power is absolute and limited to some aspect. The Supremeย Court of India holds the power to declare any law which it considers inconsistent with the Constitution invalid. In other words if any bill is passed by the Parliament which does not follows the ideals of the Constitution will be held invalid and void by the Supreme court. This doctrine has been laid by the Supreme Court to ensure and preserve the will of the Constitution and the ideology behind it. Hence, the Parliament cannot destroy or alter the basic structure of the Constitution.ย
Evolution of the Basic Structure Doctrine:
The term Basic structure Doctrine has evolved through various decisions of the Supreme Court on the powers of parliament and judiciary. There was a dilemma between Article 13 and Article 368, the question raised was which of the Article had an overriding effect on the other.
In this case, the First amendment was challenged on the ground that it is in violation to the Part-III of the constitution. Therefore, it was suggested that it should be considered invalid and void. The Supreme Court held that the Article 368 of the Constitution states, โthe Parliament has the power to amend any part of the constitution including fundamental rights.โ
In Sajjan Singh Vs State of Rajasthan[2] case in 1965 the Court gave the same ruling.
In this case in 1967, the Supreme Court held that the Parliament is not empowered to amend Part III of the constitution as the fundamental rights are immutable. The Supreme Court overruled its earlier decision. According to the Supreme Court ruling, Article 368 lays down the procedure to amend the constitution, that does not give absolute powers to the parliament and to amend any part of the constitution.
The 24th Constitution Amendment Act
In 1971, the Parliament passed the 24th Constitution amendment act. The act gave absolute power to the parliament, in order to make any changes in the constitution and also the fundamental rights. It also made it obligatory for the President to give his assent on all the Constitution Amendment bills sent to him. This move was executed evidently in the favor of Smt. Indira Gandhi and her government.
In this case, the Supreme Court upheld the validity of the 24th Constitution Amendment Act and reviewed its decision in the Golaknath case. The Supreme Court held that the Parliament has power to amend any provision of the constitution but the basic structure of the constitution is to be maintained as it is. But the Apex Court has not provided any clear definition for the term basic structure. It held that the “basic structure of the Constitution could not be abrogated even by a constitutional amendment”.
Attempts to bury the Basic Structure Doctrine:ย ย Many politicians, experts and ministers were against the basic structure defined by the earlier cases. This led to challenges against the verdict of the court. In 1975, the Supreme Court reaffirmed the concept of Basic Structure Doctrine. This happened when the victory of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the elections was upheld by the Allahabad High Court on the grounds of electoral malpractice. Justice Krishna Iyer granted a stay allowing Indira Gandhi to work as the Prime Minister on the condition that she would not draw salary and speak or vote until the case was decided. But, while the court was hearing the case, the parliament passed the Thirty- ninth amendment o the constitution. This amendment removed the authority of the Supreme Court to handle cases with regard to elections of President, Prime Minister and the speaker of Lok Sabha.ย Instead a body will be constituted for resolving such disputes. The aim of the bill was evidently to benefit Smt. Indira Gandhi. Some amendments were also made to the Representation of Peoples Acts of 1951 and 1974 and placed in theย Ninth Scheduleย along with
the Election Laws Amendment Act, 1975. The mala fide intention of the government to save the face of Indira Gandhi in case the Court passed a verdict against them was proved by the hurry in which the Thirty-ninth amendment was passed. The bill was introduced on 7th of August, passed by the Lok Sabha the same day, and Rajya Sabha the next day, the President passed it giving his assent 2 days later and it was gazetted on 10th August. The counsel for the opposing party challenging Indira Gandhi argued that the amendment violated the basic structure of Constitution and hence should be held unconstitutional. It affected the power of judicial review and the basic features including conducting of free and fair elections. They also argued that the Parliament is not empowered to decide if the election were valid or not stating the incompetency to use its constituent power to hold an election that was declared void by the High court. The court upheld the amended laws, striking down the law which restricted the power of judiciary to adjudicate the situation. The judges grudgingly accepted the Parliaments power to pass overriding laws.
Within three days of the decision of the election case, C.J. Ray convened to review the Keshavanandan Bharti case verdict with regard to a number of land ceiling petitions. The opposing partyโs counsel argued that it was an unnecessary move. The bench dissolved soon after it and people doubted the governmentโs indirect involvement in the issue. The National emergency was declared in 1975. Soon after the Congress party constituted a committee with Sardar Swaran Singh its chairman to review the question of amending the Constitution. Through the 42nd amendment several changes were incorporated which also included that any amendments by the Parliament in the past or in future in the constitution cannot be questioned by the court.
In this case the owners of Minerva mills challenged the 42nd amendment in the Supreme Court. Mr. N.A. Palkhivala from the side of petitioners decided not to challenge the government’s action instead he framed the challenge to Parliament’s power to amend the Constitution. He argued that the section 55 of the amendment provided unlimited power to the Parliament. He added that Article 31 C violated the Preamble and the basic structure doctrine, hence should be declared unconstitutional. It also took away the power of judicial review.
The majority judgment (4:1) held the amendment to Article 31C unconstitutional.โ It destroyed the harmony and balance between fundamental rights and directive principles which is an essential or basic feature of the Constitution.โ In another case relating to a similar dispute involving agricultural property the apex court, held that all constitutional amendments made after the date of the Kesavananda Bharati are subject to judicial review as the same procedure as prior to the 42nd amendment.
Getting into iit is considered to be โthe jobโ to be done. As they say, โthe best time to start preparing for jee is when you were bornโ, quite funny and hypothetical but the problem with views and opinion like these which keep floating around in our society and neighborhood is that even though they are obnoxious in certain way but everyone knows that they form a certain basis in reality. Why is it so hard? or is it really that hard?
Not because the portion is vast or questions are hard or competition is vast or anything like that, it is just that there is so much clutter and complexity around the whole preparation journey and methodology that it becomes extremely difficult for one to find a way around it whole and reach the set target. There are too many loops and strings to deal with when going through the standard methodized way at least for a normal person. So, what must be our take on it from the beginning or even from the midst, what must be our attitude and mindset regarding the whole thing. Well this article will help you get clarity about the whole picture as a part of personal experience and as a perspective to view it in a more rationalist and realist point of view so at least there will be a new approach to try out to make a difference.
So here is a comprehensive guide:____
Just stop the rush towards fancy books
It is seen that whenever a new book comes out in the market or a popular new book whose name comes out of a popular youtuber, students rush for it. And then everybody has it and then it just sits on the rack and it is never opened again for the rest of the years after the initial dayโs energy and excitement vanishes. Really there is no need to pay attention to these kinds of fancy books or materials or notes. Just stick to what you have. Nobody is distributing extra marks for buying new books.
Stick to what you have till end
At times there is an overwhelming feeling that what we carry is not as good as what the topper is carrying or it is not the best out there but one must understand that it simply doesn’t have to be. It is good enough and even if it is not, changing it or replacing it constantly or rarely would not help either, beat it. We don’t have to change it, we have to improve it, have trust in them, revise them and keep improving them. Using that same notebook, seeing that same handwriting over and over day in and day out and then adding things to it as our knowledge grows is the right way to go.
Implementation is all that matters
It doesn’t matter what you learned in the fanciest coaching of India, neither does it make much of a difference how much literature, theories, formulas or examples you have stored in your mind. What matters is the implementation, practice and application in the real world.
Practising questions over and over and over is what gives you mastery of any topic or chapter. From fluid motion to elasticity to rotation , from linear equation to calculus , form atomic structures to coordinate bonds, everything can become as easy as solving newton’s laws of linear motion question , but they need to be practised in real time on notebook. They need to be written and practised over and over until it becomes second nature and that is when that chapter or topic can be left for end revisions.
Revision and keeping up with what is going on in formal syllabus
Keep doing the revision of the topics which are finished in the past. Two months old or a year old, revise them to keep grip on them or else you will lose the grip over them. And it would be even harder to make a grasp on future topics. And also never fall back behind the formal syllabus pace. Keeping up with the syllabus should be the first priority. That said, there are a lot more things to it but these above mentioned are the ones that needs to be taken care of most, rest falls in its place with time as your understanding grows.

Standardised testing. A serial dream killer. Hope undermining, man-made catastrophe.
The need for an absolute overhaul is inevitable for the sake of sanities of many. A change in the thought processes of the society would be the apt stepping stone for such a revolution.
As we approach the third decade of the twenty-first century, I guess itโs time to do away the standardised testing as a measure to test the overall capacity of an individual. Following such ancient methods of evaluating young minds in such a fast paced world is absolutely bonkers, we, should know better.
Experts across the fields have endorsed the need for knowledge based learning over memory based learning. But still many are capitalising on the status quo. With millions at the receiving end having it for the worse.
We all have at least appeared for one or the other such tests in our lives. Thereโs no denying that, the education system is wired in such a manner that thereโs no other way around it. Best to succumb to it and make it out in one piece.
Itโs saddening to the very least to admit to the fact that many of our dreams were often short-lived by courtesy of such devious measures. Figuring out oneโs capacity to follow up his dreams and aspirations over memory based evaluations. Preposterous.
We all have friends and acquaintances who were not able to tread upon a path close to their hearts due to their inability to mug up and show up for standardised tests.
We might even know significant numbers of people, who couldโve been significant figures in their respective favourite fields if they havenโt had fallen prey to the societal norms and ambit of such tests to pursue mainstream degrees and careers.
If youโre somebody who has not been shot down by such a measure, count your blessings. Youโre indeed one of the rarest of the rare.
With every passing year, millions of students are pushed into the rat race of such tests by the pressure implied by their guardians, mostly. The crazy obsession over a few courses and institutions in lieu of a trend that has long passed, but is still not accepted by the masses. People are suckers for a safe and secure career that is entirely overrated.
With the passing of each year, new and newer coaching centres for prepping the kids for such exams are coming up in every nook and corner of our societies. Coaching centres are definitely and will be the black for a while.
Another number synonymous with the pass numbers of such institutions are the suicide rates among the ones that go there. With the crammed up schedules to only learn and nothing else, millions of kids are traumatised by the agony inflicted upon them.
The only good, such institutions do are their unbridled role over building smaller economies. Pressured with the need to cater to the high numbers of students joining such institutions, theyโre forced to establish bigger institutions to accommodate the same.
Hence, they resort to remoter areas where land is cheap and set up shop there. With more and more families trying to put their kids through such a process, they move closer to such institutions and play their part in fuelling the growth of such rural economies. A blessing in disguise for many.
We live in a country where the education policies are over three decades old. Since then weโve liberalised the markets, had massive growth of population and numerous other socioeconomic changes, but this sector falls short to such changes.
With every passing year, education becomes more political than the year before. Higher passing percentages are a matter of concern for political parties to market false bravado. Unaware of the millions who fall prey to such a process.
Rewarding students based on their abilities to rot learn and awarding them with grace marks for selfish reasons might seem reasonable in the short term. But in the long run, bringing out generations of students proficient, theoretically, would just drag this great nation to the dirt.
โA stitch in time saves 9โ, better act up before itโs too late.
Psychology is an exciting field becauseย we have explored deep beneath the oceans, above the skies but we haven’t explored ourselves. Since every person is unique thereforeย this branch of science is challenging than any other. And knowing the history of the field helps to make sense from where it has grown and developed. History is very crucial for understanding something. Whether you are meeting someone for the first time seeing a physician, talking to a counselor, or applying for a job, everything starts with history. the history of psychology has no definite answer, some say it started with ancient Greece, some trace it back to the 19th century when psychology was formally proposed and instituted. Precursors to psychology could be found in philosophy and physiology. In the early 1800s, these principles were taught as courses on mental and moral philosophy that taught mind based on the faculties of intellect, wills, and senses.ย Philosophical questions about the nature of mind and knowledge were matched in the 19th century by physiological investigations of the sensory systems of the human observer. German physiologist Hermann von Helmholtz (1821โ1894) measured the speed of the neural impulseย and explored the physiology of hearing and vision which indicated that our senses can deceive us and are not a mirror of the external world. This showed that even though the human senses are fallible, the mind could be measured using the methods of science. An important implication of his work was that physical reality and psychological reality are distinctive. The question of the relationship between mental and material was investigated by several German Researchers called psychophysics, which would serve as the basis for the new science of psychology. But the formal development of modern psychology was credited to a German physician, psychologist, and philosopher Wilhem Wuhnt. The researches conducted by Wilhelm attracted students from across the globe to study experimental psychology. On such student, Edward Bradford Titchener brought this idea to America and named it “structuralism”. Structuralists were interested in the contents of the mind. While structuralists were expanding in America, others like William James inspired by Darwin’s evolutionary theory formed “functionalists” who were interested in activities of the mind. Opposed to the idea of Titchener, James believed consciousness is continuous and cannot be reduced to elements. Consciousness helps us to adapt to the environment, make decisions, and have personal responsibility for the choices.ย Throughout the first half of the 20th century, psychology continued to grow and flourish, one good example was Gestalt psychologyย whose perspective is โthe whole is greater than the sum of its partsโ. Most of the practitioners of Gestalt psychology were Jewish and were forced to flee Germany during the Nazi Regime. They came to America where they demonstrated their new audience how Gestalt could be used to perception and learning and thus could be said as the precursor to the rise of cognitive psychology. Behaviorismย emerged early in the 20th century Championed by psychologists such as John B. Watson and B. F. Skinner, it rejected any reference to mind and viewed overt and observable behavior as the proper subject matter of psychology. For decades behaviorism dominated American psychology.ย Modern intelligence tests were developed by the French psychologist Alfred Binet whose goal was to develop a test that would identify schoolchildren in need of educational support. His test, included tasks of reasoning and problem solving, was introduced in the United States by Henry Goddard and later standardized by Lewis Terman at Stanford University.ย Clinical psychology was also an early application of experimental psychology in America. Lightner Whitmer, a Ph.D. in experimental psychologyย believed that because psychology dealt with the study of sensation and perception, it should be of value in treating children with learning and behavioral problems. He is credited as the founder of both clinical and school psychology.ย Given that psychology deals with the human condition, it wouldn’t be surprising that psychologists would involve themselves in social issuesย Helen Thompson Woolley and Leta S. Hollingworth were pioneers in research on the psychology of sex differences who proved that emotions didn’t influence women’s more than men nor menstruation.ย Among the first generation of African American psychologists, Mamie Phipps Clark and her husband Kenneth Clark studied the psychology of race and demonstrated how school segregation negatively impacted the self-esteem of African American children.ย
It wouldn’t be possible to mention the rich history of psychology in such a short space, thus omissions and errors are plausible. This brief history provides some glimpse of the history of psychology, hoping for you to see connections and have an appreciation for both unity and diversity of the field of psychology.
An analysis of the National Educational Policy formulated by the Union Cabinet.
The pace at which the world is advancing is simply magnificent, promising a totally different way of human lifestyle within the next 30 odd years. Showing even promises of human life on a second planet, to cater to the present needs.
This paves the need to adapt to such changes. To be a catalyst, rather than a fly on the windshield in the process.
The rapid advancements in most sectors aided by technology has only the human element slogging it in most developing and underdeveloped nations. But most developed nations showing promises of being able to provide to such changes, make them stand out as model nations.
Itโs quite ironic, Us, humans, slowing down the process of advancements; the very reason behind such advancements and the very factor slowing it down.
Modern problems do require modern solutions.
A brief analysis of the incompetency of ours, shows traces of troubleshooting in the education system.
To quote the father of the nation would be the ideal solution to the current crisis. The Mahatma had signified the importance of education in the pre-independence era and post too; the relevance of it, in the present century shows evidence of where weโve fell short in our rat race. His overviews require praise for looking out like a true father.
The importance of education in the thoughts of people and society is quite significant and needs no more emphasis. But still the turn over is indeed minimal.
Itโs more of a necessity than a luxury, in the pursuit of overall development as an individual and the development of the nation. โA journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.โ
The Union Cabinet by the end of the last month announced a New policy governing the education system in India. Promising overhaul changes both in the school and higher education system, to cater to the needs of the twenty first century.
A change much needed to be precise.
Itโs still a policy and not a law, as the Union has the mammoth task of passing it, as after all India is a federal state and education being a subject on the concurrent list, requires forward of all the states and Union Territories.
Rather than beating around the bush more, Iโll get to the point of emphasises on the highly ambitious New Education Policy, which was formulated only after a whopping gap of 34 years.
The National policy on education was last formulated in 1986 and modified in 1992. It took the nation more than a few decades to propose a change in one of the most important sectors.
The National Education Policy proposes radical changes to the educational system of India. The norms of the policy even makes it sound โtoo good to be trueโ, with the promise of implementing all the proposed, heavily criticised policy by 2040.
However, most proposed comprehensive changes like completely redefining the age-old school curriculum structure of 10+2 into a structure of 5+3+3+4 has been received well.
The new school structure puts emphasis on formative education via early childhood education with an overview to implement absolute literacy and numeracy education(ability to understand basic terms and do basic calculations) by the end of the second grade.
The reports of low literacy and numeracy rates among students of elementary schools had pushed the policy formulators towards universal implementation by 2025.
The need of ensuring proper nutrition and health of students have also been targeted, with the implementation of mandatory breakfasts and midday meals in schools.
With a strive to impart quality education, the pupil-teacher ratio has been set at 30:1 and a lesser ratio for socially backward areas with a view to eradicate the socio-economic differences.
As a step in the right direction, provisions for vocational education and internships from grade 6th with a restructuring of the curriculum to inculcate critical thinking and inquiry based, discovery based learning has also been put forward.
The need for education via mother tongue till grade five has received much friction from all sides. The often negligence of regional languages and mother tongue had made the Union consider it.
Experts from the educational field has however resented such a decision hinting that in a Country like ours with high mobility, thereโs a greater need for universal mediums in the education provided in schools. Making the students whoโd have to travel for reasons outside their control adversely affected by the same.
The economically constrained sections of the society has also made their voice heard, stating the inadequacy of funds from their sides, would put their children at a disadvantage compared to the children of well off families, who could afford multiple tuitions to learn English. (Sighting the universal application)
A crown jewel in the policy, is the widened scope of universal education from transforming the 6-14 years to 3-18 years of students, while incorporating further lifelong learning habits.
The policy of a multi-disciplinary approach in higher education is also mentioned, but a foolproof framework is what it lacks, as of now.
The policy also incorporates aspirational moves towards doing away with the need for coaching class trends for higher education and to reduce the hysteria towards private english medium schools by bridging the adversities faced by the public schools.
With regards to higher education, the union focuses on allowing prestigious foreign universities to set up shop in the country and to also to aid the setting up of glamorous Indian higher education institutions in other countries. But the policy fails to make promises to further expand the number of premium institutions like IITโs on Indian soils.
Even though the experts have welcomed most policy reforms with both hands, theyโve also presented their fair share of doubts regarding the implementation of the nuances of the policy, sighting the lack of political will towards public education and fiscal burden upon the government.
The suggestion of educational expenditure to be bumped upto 6% of GDP has been doing the rounds and has been neglected by consecutive governments. The economic slowdown caused by the pandemic also raises further doubts of the finances, also considering the surge in health and defence sector expenditures in the following years.
The policy on paper encourages the need for critical thinking, holistic learning and increase of campus activities. However, the attacks on free and critical thinkers on campuses in the recent past, raises obvious red flags.
Sighting the surge in the number of educated unemployeds and the mishap regarding the imparting of appropriate skillsets to match the employment opportunities, overhaul have been suggested regarding the formulation of 4 year undergrads shows great promise and putting an end to MPhil programs. The union also aims to restrict the functions of the UGC.
Even though the overall policy has the potential to transform the nation into a status of a powerhouse of knowledge, subsequent formulation of clear and foolproof plans which wouldnโt aggrieve any promises of tomorrow would be the ideal path to tread upon.
The Majestic year 2020 is marked by two major events. One is the Onset of the worst pandemic that the entire world is reeling under and the other as the title suggests is Online learning!
The Use of Online Learning or E Learning has skyrocketed in the recent times as the only mode of education in a social distancing setup.Indeed it is a necessity as education cannot be put to rest halting the progress of millions of students. As a coin has two sides, similarly online form of education has it’s own perks and drawbacks. So lets find out more!
Online schooling is a popular alternative to attending a brick-and-mortar college or university. Though online students don’t get the face-to-face experiences of a typical on-campus student, there are many benefits and advantages to online learning, also known as distance learning or e-learning.
While not every program or school imaginable has an online option, a large number of them do, and many programs are nationally or regionally accredited. Students can learn through online lectures, projects and discussions. Online degree programs are available at every level, from certificates to doctorates.
Owing to the Covid situation, organisations that used to vouch for traditional methods of education are now radically shifting towards online education because there is no other alternative.Earlier online education used to be an alternative, now it is the only choice for those who want to desperately continue their education.
When Online Education is the new reality,it is very essential to keep in mind it’s advantages and disadvantages to take maximum benefits out of it and also minimize stress levels.
Advantages
-Convenient Learning:It can be undertaken anywhere ranging from a tiny corner in the living room to a study table in the bedroom and without a particular dress code(still modest dressing is expected).
-No Infrastructure:No physical infrastructure such as building, classrooms and benches are required for online education.
-Less Travelling: In Online classes there is no need to undertake strenuous travelling routines as students can attend the classes from the comfort of their homes.
-Recordings:Unlike the Traditional Systems,Online Education system provides an option of class recording and hence students can re watch the class recordings to make concepts clear.
-Virtual Reality(VR):Teachers in the online mode can make use of Virtual Reality Techniques to make students understand complex topics in an interesting way.
disadvantages
-Motivation:The laid back nature of the online classes do not provide much motivation to the students.Students do not take online classes to be as serious as classroom and thus do not pay attention.
-Lack of Concrete Assessments:Online mode of education has so far not been promising for people with theoretical subjects as it is difficult to conduct heavy exams here.
-No practicals:People Who study medicine, chemistry and physics an understand how bad this can be!There are certain subjects which cannot be simply taught, practicals and experiments have to be performed to further the understanding.Online education does not support this.
-Stress on health:The negative impacts of online mode of education on the health of the students is indisputable!Several students have complained of migraines, back aches, eye pain and so forth.Students psychologically too have not been able to cope up with the sudden shift and are suffering.
Thus,Online mode of education is a tricky one and should be suitable for certain conditions,Since it is the only alternative now, educationists and policy makers should study the pros and cons to make amends in the present online education structure to suit the demands of students. We have to always remember that Education is fruitful only when it reaches learners effectively!
In today’s instagram world,People especially adolescents are getting image and body conscious. They look at the perfect bodies of celebrities and aspire to be like them.In this aspiration, they are psychologically and physically wounded. Most of such people experience eating disorders where in they undergo extreme changes in their eating and exercise habits.Ultimately they damage themselves.
So,in today’s blog lets look at one of the eating disorders called Bulimia Nervosa,it’s causes and it’s impacts.Let’s get started.
Bulimia nervosa is an eating disorder characterized by episodes of binge eatingโconsuming a lot of food quicklyโfollowed by compensatory behavior, most commonly vomiting or “purging.” People who are bulimic often feel a lack of control over their eating. A bulimic can consume as many as 3,400 calories in little more than an hour and as many as 20,000 calories in eight hours.
People with bulimia often know they have a problem and are afraid of their inability to stop eating. Bingeing is then followed by purging โ namely, self-induced vomiting or the abuse of diuretics or laxatives. Bingeing and purging are often performed in secret, with feelings of shame alternating with relief.
The bingeing and purging cycle is usually repeated several times a week. As with anorexia, people with bulimia often have coexisting psychological illnesses, such as depression, anxiety, and substance abuse problems. Many physical dysfunctions result from the purging, including electrolyte imbalances, gastrointestinal troubles, and dental problems.
An estimated one to four percent of females have bulimia nervosa during their lifetime. The prevalence in males is unknown, but bulimia nervosa is far less common in males than females. Most cases begin in the late teens and early 20s, but can go undetected until the 30s or 40s.
SYMPTOMS
Bulimia signs and symptoms may include:
Being preoccupied with your body shape and weight
Living in fear of gaining weight
Repeated episodes of eating abnormally large amounts of food in one sitting
Feeling a loss of control during bingeing โ like you can’t stop eating or can’t control what you eat
Forcing yourself to vomit or exercising too much to keep from gaining weight after bingeing
Using laxatives, diuretics or enemas after eating when they’re not needed
Fasting, restricting calories or avoiding certain foods between binges
Using dietary supplements or herbal products excessively for weight loss
CAUSES
Exact causes are not completely known and are believed to complex.Hence there is no single known cause of bulimia, but there are some factors that may play a part, such as:
Culture:As in strict body expectations:Slim and trim girls wanted for marriage in India.
Families:Constant pressure and criticism from parents on looks of children
Life changes or stressful events: can trigger bulimia.
Personality traits: Those with bulimia may have low self-esteem and feel hopeless.
Biology.:Genes, hormones, and other biological factors may contribute to development of bulimia.
Impact
Bulimia has a great impact on the individual and can lead to following complications:
Negative self-esteem and problems with relationships and social functioning
Dehydration leading to kidney failure
Heart problems
Severe tooth decay and gum disease
Absent or irregular periods in females
Digestive problems
Anxiety, depression, personality disorders or bipolar disorder
Misuse of alcohol or drugs
Self-injury and suicidal thoughts.
Management
If left untreated, bulimia can create major complications in life as mentioned above.Hence if you see your loved ones experiencing symptoms of bulimia, support them and console them.If the symptoms are unbearable, immediately consult a doctor and psychologist who will be able to help the patient successfully.
Please spread empathy and kindness.Acceptance and kindness can prevent bulimia in such insecure people.Every difficulty can be defeated with empathy, patience and willingness to improve and come out.

Why have i written this blog?why are you reading this blog? Why do you eat?Why do you love?
The answer to all of these actions is MOTIVATION!Motivation is the process that initiates, guides, and maintains goal-oriented behaviors. It is what causes you to act, whether it is reading this article, getting a glass of water to reduce thirst or reading a book to gain knowledge. So this blog will critically analyse the concept of motivation and help all of you to understand the reasons behind your actions. So lets get started!
Motivation describes the wants or needs that direct behavior toward a goal. It is an urge to behave or act in a way that will satisfy certain conditions, such as wishes, desires, or goals. Older theories of motivation stated that rational thought and reason were the guiding factors in human motivation; however, psychologists now believe that motivation may be rooted in basic impulses to optimize well-being, minimize physical pain, and maximize pleasure.
Motivation involves the biological, emotional, social, and cognitive forces that activate behavior. In everyday usage, the term “motivation” is frequently used to describe why a person does something. It is the driving force behind human actions.
So lets analyse the mechanism of motivation
Drives and motives
Motivations are commonly separated into drives and motives.
Drives are primarily biological, like thirst, hunger, sleepiness, and the need to reproduceโall of which lead us to seek out and take part in certain activities. Drives are believed to originate within a person and may not require external stimuli to encourage behavior.
Motives, on the other hand, are primarily driven by social and psychological mechanisms, such as work, family, and relationships. They include factors like praise and approval.
INtrinsic and extrinsic motivation
Motivation can be intrinsic (arising from internal factors) or extrinsic (arising from external factors).
Intrinsic:arise from within the individual, such as doing a complicated crossword puzzle purely for the personal gratification of solving a problem.
Extrinsic:arise from outside of the individual and often involve rewards such as trophies, money, social recognition, or praise.
In reality, our motivations are often a mix of both intrinsic and extrinsic factors, and the nature of the mix can change over time.Sometimes, intrinsic motivation can diminish when extrinsic motivation is givenโa process known as the overjustification effect. This can lead to extinguishing the intrinsic motivation and creating a dependence on extrinsic rewards for continued performance.
Motivation v/s emotion
While motivation and emotion can be intricately linked, they are two fundamentally different things. Motivation describes the wants or needs that direct behavior toward a goal; in contrast, an emotion is a subjective state of being that we often describe as a feeling. Emotion and motivation are linked in several ways: both influence behavior and can lead us to take action, and emotion itself can act as a motivator.
The need to understand motivation
So at the end of this article, lets see what is the use of understanding the concept of motivation.Understanding motivation can:
Help improve the efficiency of people as they work toward goals
Help people take action
Encourage people to engage in health-oriented behaviors
Help people avoid unhealthy or maladaptive behaviors such as risk-taking and addiction
Getting educated has never been this easy.Putting the relevance of colleges under the spotlight.
A few decades back, not everyone had the liberty and the opportunity to go to college. The huge numbers of people joining colleges rather than the workforce was not the thing back then.
The expensive college system paved the way for such a trend, which was also aided by the lack of infrastructure and other opportunities in most sectors which are quite relevant now.
The brick and motor system of people finishing school and then going to college to get a job has been changing slowly but significantly for the past few years. Lesser and lesser people have been seen shutting the eye towards getting a college degree to have a guaranteed successful career across the industries.
The current pandemic status quo is sure to have put a dent to this trend on a larger scale. With the ever fluctuations in the job market and the downward scaling of businesses, employees in most industries are scrambling to make sure that they will have a living by the end of the pandemic.ย
Making the fear of the pandemic second to the fear of having a job to hold on to sustain a living. The hardships of having a job did not seen this hard in a while.
The upscaling of technology has certainly impacted the education system the most. With the widespread of internet and other gadgets, it has allowed people to even resort to remote learning; from upskilling to even pursuing degrees these days.
Aiding schools and universities to function on with their course structures to an extend.
It has also paved the path for people building up and pursuing shorter courses, which helps in building up certain skills and foundations in almost all the sectors of business. Contributing to a more conscious and productive workforce yet to have hit the floors.
People now have the liberty to sit from the comfort of their homes and with a few clicks be able to start doing a course to up skill their own person. Making the opportunities to learn a plenty and the easiest it has ever been.
The pandemic and shifts in the education system has promised that the system is never going to be the same again.
With people resorting to digital measures to eliminate their shortcomings of knowledge regarding different spectrums, it has started giving major companies sound grounds to even consider candidates without a proper degree for various job opportunities.
With the ability to receive information and answers regarding almost everything with just a click of a few buttons, has shown that the people are going the extra mile to incorporate additional skills that might help them become more educated to handle the tasks at work and also developing as professionals.ย Paying homage to the age old saying, โwith great powers, comes great responsibilities.โ
These all have made the jobs of the recruiters much easier, by letting them have the freedom to have a chance to hire people with the right skillsets, which would let them employ the workers without further training or other actions. Making the pace of the workplace faster than ever.
Did you ever feel that therapy involves talk by a psychologist and nothing else could come under the domain of therapy? If your answer is yes,Then you are wrong!!Well times have changed my reader~
Therapies have come a long way to incorporate other clinically approved methods such as animal assisted therapy, food therapy, aroma therapy etc.Music Therapy is one clinically developed program by psychologists to assist speedy healing of their clients. In this blog, the readers would be introduced to the world of Music therapy. So lets get started!
Music Therapy is the clinical and evidence-based use of music interventions to accomplish individualized goals within a therapeutic relationship by a credentialed professional who has completed an approved music therapy program. It is is an established health profession in which music is used within a therapeutic relationship to address physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of individuals. After assessing the strengths and needs of each client, the qualified music therapist provides the indicated treatment including creating, singing, moving to, and/or listening to music.
Through musical involvement in the therapeutic context, clients’ abilities are strengthened and transferred to other areas of their lives. This therapy also provides avenues for communication that can be helpful to those who find it difficult to express themselves in words. Research in music therapy supports its effectiveness in many areas especially emotional rehabilitation.
history
You all will be shocked to know that both world wars were the trigger that initiated the development of this therapy.During and after both World Wars, doctors and clinicians began to realize the powerful effects that music has on the healing process and requested that professional musicians be hired by the hospitals. This therapy first got officially recognized in the Michigan state university of the United States of America.Ultimately,The American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) was formed which focuses on creating more awareness about this wonderful therapy.
BENEFITS
Music therapy can benefit many individuals. The diverse nature of music means it can be applied in the treatment of concerns both physical and psychological.Since music can evoke positive emotions and improve brain health,Music therapy is said to manage and alleviate symptoms of mental health concern such as Depression, Mood issues,Anxiety,Schizophrenia,Substance abuse,Autism,Personality issues,Insomnia,Dementia etc.
In addition,Music therapy can improve the social, cognitive, emotional and motor functioning. This therapy was also effective in controlling patient’s situation in Alzheimer’s,Cancer and Hypertension.
Music therapy is frequently administered to reduce stress levels and pain perception of females in labor. This novel therapy has also been linked with improvements in self-esteem, self-concept, verbal communication, prosocial behavior, socialization skills, group cohesion, and coping skills.
Limitations
Even the most beautiful things have flaws, and so has music therapy. One of the major drawback is that this therapy cannot be used as a stand-alone therapy. The music therapy is also known as music assisted therapy implying it’s sole purpose is to assist the main therapy applied by the clinician on the client to produce fast results and relief.
Also, the music therapy like all other therapies is individualized. This is not a major drawback but should be kept in mind before going in for this option. All individuals are unique and so is their taste in music. Thus the therapist has to do additional tests to see which type of music and musical instrument works better for the client.
ALWAYS REMEMBER,WHERE WORDS FAIL,MUSIC SPEAKS…..
Thus in short we need to know that music therapy is a wonderful form of therapy which strengthens an individual and increases his/her quality of life.Choose Music for a better Life!

The other is understanding how the various parts of a person come together as a whole.
So this blog will introduce the readers to some important theories used to describe personality.Let’s get started!
According to Sigmund Freud Father of Psychoanalysis, an adult personality generally has three determinants: Id, Ego and Super Ego.The outcome of the combination of all the three determinants shapes an adult personality. Freud believed than an individualโs personality has three parts and thus is often called as tripartite personality.
Id:Irrational demands and urge.
Ego:Helps in fulfillment of Id after taking into consideration the reality.
Superego:Moral constraints of the individual.
Defense mechanisms play an important role in pushing unrealistic thoughts out of awareness. Stressful thoughts which are threatening to an individualโs survival should be pushed into unconscious mind to reduce anxiety through them.
2)ERIK ERIKSON:PSYCHOSOCIAL DEVELOPMENT THEORY:-
Erikson believes there are 8 stages in a personโs life and to enter into the next stage,a virtue has to be learnt from the previous stage and this leads to personality development. He focuses on different identity crisis in a personโs lifespan. As in

But, certain types are predominant over the normal mode of organizing our experience.Carl Jung also developed a theory of personality. His theory is one of the type theories of personality, as it involved typology of introversion and extraversion. There are 4 functions :Sensing, intuiting, thinking and feeling.
4)JULIAN ROTTER-LOCUS OF CONTROL
“Locus of Control.” For many people, their only exposure to the ideas of Julian B. Rotter is his concept of generalized expectancies for control of reinforcement, more commonly known as locus of control. Locus of control refers to people’s very general, cross-situational beliefs about what determines whether or not they get reinforced in life. People can be classified along a continuum from very internal to very external. People with a strong internal locus of control believe that the responsibility for whether or not they get reinforced ultimately lies with themselves. Internals believe that success or failure is due to their own efforts. In contrast, externals believe that the reinforcers in life are controlled by luck, chance, or powerful others. Therefore, they see little impact of their own efforts on the amount of reinforcement they receive.
Thus we come to the end of the blog. This blog is aimed at introducing the readers to the world of personality analysis. However one must remember that human beings are complex and not one theory explains all the human behavior. The readers are requested to read more articles about the same and fill themselves with knowledge.

The rise of unemployment rates in India during this time of crisis has wreckedhavoc in the social, economical and political state in the country. A havoc which couldโve been avoided.
It clearly depicts an urgent need to restructure both the workforce and the education system. The rapid advancements in most sectors has deemed necessary for the need for various skills which an abundance of our workforce lacks.
This also points out the need for imparting skill and knowledge based education in the society. Making the present unemployed youths dumbstruck with the needs and wants of the market and how to best cater to it.
The pandemic has also outright made clear the need of various skilled workers among most civil societies. The jobs which were often neglected as quite trivial and unnecessary to the naked eyes of many.
The mainstreaming of vocational training among students in schools would provide the students an opportunity to pick up necessary life skills and would further nurture the process of self discovering various personal preferences.
Imparting vocational training at a tender age can also aid children receive technical and practical knowledge which will aid them to acquire practical knowledge regarding the operations of various mechanisms.
It will also make the young adults employment ready and would boost the countryโs workforce competitiveness compared to the rest.
Through such training various life and need based education will be imparted to people which will further facilitate the transition of unskilled people into human resources which the formal education, due to its rigid chronological grading structure and inflexible nature excludes the poor students from its advantages.
In this circumstance as the alternative of formal-education it is very much necessary to evaluate vocational education so that we can determine the extent of its success and weakness at any stage of poverty reduction as it is considered the best way to bring about longer lasting socio- economic change and self development.
It will also serve as an alternative to traditional academic courses and makes them understand the pace of an actual working environment.
No people are the same, different people have different perspectives and abilities.
Making wider courses for students to learn while inculcating vocational courses would benefit both the individuals and the world at large.
The actual workforce is not in accordance with the need of the employers.
Many a gaps between the available workforce and employment seekers can be abridged by imparting proper skills and knowledge between the available workforce.
The rigid structures of the education system and the often viewing of the vocational jobs as a taboo in the society has made such an downward impact. Making the task at hand even more complicated.
The disrupted employability rates could be brought down with the mainstreaming of vocational education. The awarding of skill based education will further smoothen the structure of the various industries by facilitating proper delivery of workers to job opportunities.
Studies have shown that the training of young individuals for vocational courses have been seen as an added advantage to the job-seekers. With the hands-on training followed under such courses, the candidates will be better equipped with regards to the skills to meet the job requirements compared to the ones educated under the formal courses.
Educating the young minds of the significance of exercising is indeed the need of the hour.
Even though the advancements in technologies are a boon than curse, we as a being are pouncing backwards; kids going out and making friends while playing at the school and grounds are not the same anymore.
Finding solace from the nuances of various gadgets from a tender age, often neglecting the risks of adapting to the most unhealthiest living condition possible.
Inclusion of sports among students from a very young age at the school level has turned out to be the need of the moment.
Neglecting the temple of the person is no way to live. Not only does it make the kids outright risk averse to dangerous diseases and other adversities.
Numerous studies have shown that the lack of sports and other physical activities among young children are making them more prone to adverse health conditions like high blood pressure, metabolic syndromes, lower immunity levels and other severe cardiovascular diseases.
Times have changed, for far worse than good. Changes are neccessary and inevitable too, however a balance is neccessary.
With the teachers and families substituting the kids play time by asking them to focus on core academics poses a major threat to the lifestyle habits of the promises of the tomorrow. Making them blossom as beings neglectful of the needs of physical activities.
The mere insensibility of the grownups with regards to it, has made the kids adapt to a life void of physical activities at the core. Carving generations of “couch–potatoes.”
The fear of the mentors and elders to help their cubs secure a strong future isย often making them skip out from taking part in sports, petrified of their little minds drifting away from doing well at academics.ย
However, what they don’t realise is the damage is already done, portraying doing well at academics has made kids consider it as a prerequisite to do well in life. Making them unaware to the fact that building up of life skills and holistic learning is what is perenial for sustainable growth of an individual and the society at large.
With the everlasting modernisation, not going out to go and play makes them fall short to learn a lot of stuff perpetual to learn as budding individuals – to engage and socialise, being a teamplayer, to communicate better and to learn it the hardway that winning and losing are just two sides of a coin.
The morale of the kids who are gifted in other spectrums of life are more intensely troubled than others. The denial of a chance to discover for their own-selves of what their gifts and aspirations are a greater peril to mankind. Life is too short not to endeavour upon the desires of one own, for the benefit of doubt of another.
Times have passed where the elders at home had to go hell-bent to get the kids back home from playing out, but now getting them to do the same is the struggle.
The blame couldn’t be totally be put on them, the ones troubled by this are also more responsible than the former. The hyper competitive scene exaggerated by the teachers and parents has had a toll on them.
Ironic but can’t be allowed for long. Transcending times require swift actions. With the folks at school leaving the leaves unturned with regards to it; it’s about time the folks at home understood the need for it and put their foot forward for a better tomorrow.
“Acting is behaving truthfully under imaginary circumstances.”
Acting is basically an art of imitation or reflection or representation. It is the quality of utilizing your own spirit body and mind in being someone else. Actors on the stage do not show themselves up there, but they show the character they get into to people.โ Acting is equivalent to forgetting the original self.
Acting is not about being someone different. It’s finding the similarity in what is apparently different, then finding myself in there.
Benefits of acting
There are many benefits of acting :
It is a self-cleansing art.
It helps us to forget ourselves, our worries, or goals, our life pressure, etc for the same time.
It helps us to “be present”. Through acting, we enjoy “the moment”. We are at “the moment”.
It helps us to understand the small little worlds as well as the big worlds of various people around us.
Every act gives us a different perception that adds to build our character.
Methods of acting
Stanislavski/Strasberg/Method: It uses affective memory considering our past. We need to relate to our past events. It draws situations from real life and there is an “emotional recall” as we get in touch with your emotional self.
Meisner Method: It is the method based on the usage of imagination only. We need to enforce us to ask questions to ourselves. We ask the questions โwhat ifโ. We need time to contemplate under what situation will I be like this and considers the hypothetical future.
Voice Acting
Our emotions come out of our voices. Talking to a person over a voice call, we can immediately interpret if he is happy, sad, angry, guilty, lonely, or anything else. The Voice of a person gives a strong sense of the feelings of a person. Therefore, in addition to bringing the character by our body movements, we also need to bring out the character through our voice. Indeed, the voice acting is so powerful that it has opened up a separate domain for artists. Voice acting by podcasts are becoming popular day by day. It is easy to access and very interesting helping listeners to create a world of their own by listening to the voice artists. In addition, in these difficult times of pandemic, where shooting is difficult due to the rules of social distancing, podcasts are the way for artists.
Irrespective of the form of acting, the main trick is to make your character your best friend. We need to study up on character traits; read testimonials, interviews, or watch videos. Then, we need to try to bring the traits through voice. Traits, in general, depending on age, geographical location, any distinct characteristic, or disability. There is a need to develops a culture of responsive acting. It is also important to tackles self-consciousness. It is an effective way of creating the world around us. An actor is an energy bank, always excited about his character and his story.
“Acting is a sport. On stage you must be ready to move like a tennis player on his toes. Your concentration must be keen, your reflexes sharp; your body and mind are in top gear, the chase is on. Acting is energy. In the theatre people pay to see energy.”
The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the new National Education Policy (NEP) with an aim to introduce several changes in the Indian education system – from the school to college level. A single regulator for higher education institutions, multiple entries and exit options in degree courses, discontinuation of MPhil programs, low stakes board exams, common entrance exams for universities are among the highlights of the policy.ย Speaking to reporters, Union ministerย Prakash Javadekarย said the changes are important as the policy, which was framed in 1986 and revised in 1992, had not been revised since then.
Theย NEP 2020ย aims at making โIndia a global knowledge superpowerโ.The new academic session will begin in September-October โ the delay is due to the unprecedented coronavirus disease (Covid-19) outbreak โ and the government aims to introduce the policy before the new session kicks in. The committee โ which suggested changes in the education system under the NEP โ was headed by former ISRO chief K Kasturirangan.ย The NEP was drafted in 1986 and updated in 1992. The NEP was part of the election manifesto of the ruling Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) ahead of the 2014 elections.
Either one of the mother tongue or the local/regional language will be the medium of instruction up to Class 5 in all schools, the government said Wednesday while launching the National Education Policy 2020. Among other changes in the revision of the NEP, last done over three decades ago, is the extension of the right to education to cover all children between three and 18 years of age. The policy also proposes vocational education, with internships, for students from Class 6, a change to the 10+2 schooling structure, and a four-year bachelor’s program. NEP 2020 will bring two crores, out-of-school children, back into the mainstream, the government has claimed. Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted saying he “wholeheartedly welcomed” the policy, which he called a “long due and much-awaited reform in the education sector”.
In a bid to ramp up digital learning, a National Educational Technology Forum (NETF) would be created. โE-courses will be developed in eight regional languages initially and virtual labs will be developed,โ Amit Khare, Higher Education Secretary, said. Top 100 foreign colleges will be allowed to set-up campuses in India. According to the HRD Ministry document, listing salient features of policy, โsuch (foreign) universities will be given special dispensation regarding regulatory, governance, and content norms on par with other autonomous institutions of India.โ Standalone Higher Education Institutes and professional education institutes will be evolved into multi-disciplinary education.ย โThere are over 45,000 affiliated colleges in our country. Under Graded Autonomy, Academic, Administrative and Financial Autonomy will be given to colleges, on the basis of the status of their accreditation,โ he further said.
Here are the important points in the National Education Policy 2020:
The mother tongue or local or regional language is to be the medium of instruction in all schools up to Class 5 (preferably till Class 8 and beyond), according to the policy. Under the NEP 2020, Sanskrit will be offered at all levels and foreign languages from the secondary school level.
The 10+2 structure has been replaced with 5+3+3+4, consisting of 12 years of schoolย and three ofย Anganwadi or pre-school. This will be split as follows: a foundational stage (ages three and eight), three years of pre-primary (ages eight to 11), a preparatory stage (ages 11 to 14), and a secondary stage (ages 14 to 18). According to the government, the revised structure will “bring hitherto uncovered age group of three to six years, recognized globally as a crucial stage for the development of mental faculties, under school curriculum”.
Instead of exams being held every year, school students will sit only for three – at Classes 3, 5, and 8. Assessment in other years will shift to a “regular and formative” style that is more “competency-based, promotes learning and development, and tests higher-order skills, such as analysis, critical thinking and conceptual clarity”.
Board exams will continue to be held for Classes 10 and 12 but even these will be re-designed with “holistic development” as the aim. Standards for this will be established by a new national assessment center – PARAKH (Performance Assessment, Review, and Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic Development).
The policy, the government has said, aims at reducing the curriculum load of students and allowing them to become more “multi-disciplinary” and “multi-lingual”. There will be no rigid separation between arts and sciences, between curricular and extra-curricular activities and between vocational and academic stream, the government said.
To that end, the policy also proposes that higher education institutions like the IITs (Indian Institute of Technology) move towards “holistic education” by 2040 with greater inclusion of arts and humanities subjects for students studying science subjects, and vice versa.
The NEP 2020 proposes a four-year undergraduate program with multiple exit options to give students flexibility. A multi-disciplinary bachelor’s degree will be awarded after completing four years of study. Students exiting after two years will get a diploma and those leaving after 12 months will have studied a vocational/professional course. MPhil (Master of Philosophy) courses are to be discontinued.
A Higher Education Council of India (HECI) will be set up to regulate higher education; the focus will be on institutions that have 3,000 or more students. Among the council’s goals is to increase the gross enrolment ratio from 26.3 percent (2018) to 50 percent by 2035. The HECI will not, however, have jurisdiction over legal and medical colleges.
The Cabinet also approved changing the name of theย HRD ministry to the education ministry.
“Acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation for all abundance.” – Ekhart Tolle
Gratitude, thankfulness, or gratefulness, is a feeling of appreciation felt by or similar positive response shown by the recipient of kindness, gifts, help, favors, or other types of generosity, towards the giver of such gifts. Gratitude turns what we already have into enough. It gives us a feeling of satisfaction and eternal peace. Gratitude is the best medicine, it heals one’s mind, body, and spirit, and it attracts more things to be grateful for.
Why do we need to practice gratitude?
“The struggle ends where gratitude begins”.
We all are surrounded by beautiful nature, we have our favorite people around us and we have enough food, clothes, and facilities. But, it is quite common that we take these things for granted. When we take things for granted, we are not satisfied with what we have and we strive to get something else, if we get it, then again we want something else, and we are never satisfied. Consider the present situation where we all are sitting at our respective houses. Earlier we could freely roam around, walk-in streets and parks, visit beautiful places, enjoy the fresh air and beauty of nature. But, we used to take all these for granted. We were really not grateful for the places around us, the beauty around us. But, now we realize its importance. The reality is that we always have enough of the resources around us for our survival. But, sadness drives in when we don’t appreciate what we have and take that for granted. Each one of us is living a life that is actually a dream life for a second person. So, just embrace it.
Imagine your life without the people around you, who are always there with you and support you. If you remove them from your life and think deeply, you will realize that they have a big role to play in your life which you never really thought about. The people around you are precious, value them, and be grateful to them that they are with you. Imagine a day without food, clothes, shoes, or air. If you do this exercise, you realize that you have enough of these things. Your desire to eat in a restaurant and to wear stylish clothes was really not that important. You get your food every day, you have clothes and shoes to wear. So, be thankful for what you have. Each and everything we get in our life, each and everything happening to us is very valuable to build us, to build our personality. Everything happens for a good reason. Being thankful for everything we get and for every event we come across gives us a satisfactory feeling, it eliminates negativity and makes our life more pleasurable. Saying thank you to another person pleases them and us too.
What do we get out of it?
A grateful heart is a magnet for miracles. The day you start practicing gratitude, it never ends. The more you express your gratitude for what you have, the more things you will have to express gratitude for. It gives you immense peace, happiness, and satisfaction. It rewires our brain and reduces stress. It boosts our immunity, improves relationships, and makes each day more beautiful. It makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow. Gratitude is the most wonderful feeling. Once you start practicing it, there is no way back.

You’ve lost your job but you are still in the possession of your skills.
“Unemployed, what to do now?” “From where to start?” “I can’t find anything else to do!” It’s better to ponder over the strategies to get a job instead of spoiling the mood following such qualms. Stop worrying, start learning something new. Because it’s just the scepticisms talking!
Many fundamental tasks at home must have been hung back, caused by unemployment. But it does not mean that all the portals are closed. You have got time to think something raw, something fresh and to do something new as well. Then why not to do the enhancement of your skills? First and foremost, start making a plan to control the expenditures and start executing it at your earliest convenience. You can do anything you want to do. Just think ahead about what to do.
Think of ahead, what do you want to do
It happens many times that we stay in a job despite the fact that it is bearing no interest. Or say that we never really wanted to do.
Co-founder of a career assessment – ‘Map My Talent’, Rohit Sehgal says, “About 80% of employees believe that they are stuck in their jobs which actually is not for them.”
So you seek such a job that interests you. For that, if you need to do any course or get enrolled in any program of two or three months, just go for it. Can do work from home or would like to start something of your own, considering all these aspects, search for a new job.
“Donโt Worry About Job Burn-Out. Worry About Job Boredom.” -Darius Foroux
Learn something new
HR consultant, Nirmala Menon says, “You’ve to remember one thing that whether the company has fired you or you’ve left the job, no matter what’s the case with you, your skills are still lodging in there!” Instead of being disappointed, think about the ways in which you can reinforce your skills. Due to lockdown, you’ve got enough time to train yourself to be a multitasker. If you want to learn something new, then choose the hi-tech way! Choose your desired online course from a list of choices and join online programs. (‘Modern problems require modern solutions!’)
Don’t flatten the graph of evolution
Networking is constructive
A survey of Yale University claims that 70% of jobs are available through the networks only. So you need to find a new networking strategy. You need to be active on social media platforms. Keep your revamped profile on job providers or search engines, particularly for jobs like LinkedIn and other job sites. If you are looking for a job in marketing, then you can join the space of global marketing and communication professionals on LinkedIn. Stay connected to your seniors and ex-colleagues. Discuss and swap viewpoints, seek pieces of advice. Thrive the flexibility of decision-making as per the requirement of time. Don’t think twice about challenging yourself otherwise you’d stop evolving.
Usually, the term “studying abroad” refers to a program operated by an academic institution, such as a university, that allows a student to live in a foreign country while studying at a foreign place of learning. The periods of study may be as brief as a single semester, or as large as one year or more. As well as learning from their curriculum, the student often learns by soaking themselves in the local culture and environment which were initially foreign.
Education is an essential thing in everybody’s life. Hundreds and thousands of young adults leave their families every year to study in a foreign country like the United States, Canada, United Kingdom and Australia. Lots of folks today are worried about going overseas to study. However, there appears to be a glamour element involved. Studying abroad has the main benefits of using advanced learning methods. The idea of studying abroad may seem like a magnificent opportunity, but there are also many potential downsides: practical, psychological, and financial. On the contrary, there are more advantages of studying abroad than just that.
Let’s look at the pros, first. Living in some other country means choosing to leave all the comforts of home behind, and having to do all by yourself. You could have better opportunities for learning abroad than you do at home. You will be doing activities you’ve probably never done in your home country. These include cooking, cleaning, shopping for food, washing clothes, figuring out transport services and exploring options for living. A lot of students go home proud of having become much more independent individuals. Another benefit of studying abroad is when traveling, you move to new places. Attaining all of this also increases self-esteem and develops character strength. You’ll grow more confident than ever before.
Studying abroad also means having to speak foreign languages even more than you are used to doing. If you are going to study at a place where they speak different languages to your native one, you may experience language problems. You’ll be subjected to the language everywhere you turn โ on the sidewalks, in the retail outlets, on campus โ you can’t get away from it. Besides writing and reading the language on campus, you will be required to interact with the local people there in English. The big positive here is that you’ll develop your English language skills by leaps and bounds. The best way to learn or improve upon a language is to use it daily.
Studying abroad has its inconveniences too. Don’t take steps toward foreign studies if you don’t have enough economic means. There’s a certain homesickness experienced by almost everyone. Youโre probably going to miss your family, friends, food and all the familiar stuff. Besides that, there is a culture shock experienced by students going abroad for the first time. You’ll need to get used to change in attitudes and new ways of living.
The major drawback of studying abroad is the altering culture. By comparison, living in a different community makes you understand that there are different ways to do things. Which is also a contribution to improving cultural awareness for students. You’ll also discover weโre all human with the same emotional reactions at the end of the day.
Conclusion:
To sum up, it all comes with pros and cons. Despite the inconvenience of going overseas to study, the overall result is positive. When studying abroad not many people can survive because of the disadvantages they may experience throughout their stay. However, what one can gain from this experience far outweighs the negative as there is no price for personal growth and fulfilment.
Detection is important and once you know what is wrong with you, you can seek ways to treat and help yourself. First and foremost, it is important to accept that you are not in your best condition to work and go on with your life. Physical ailments are easier to detect but thatโs not the case with mental ailments like emotional exhaustion. Emotional exhaustion is the state of complete hopelessness and emotional detachment. It is not something that can be overlooked and needs to be treated for an individual to continue to be efficient in whatever he does.
A person can get emotionally exhausted due to an array of reasons, some of which are relationship troubles, demise of a loved one, job related and financial problems. In the current pandemic situation, everyone – from front-line healthcare workers to people who are working from home – must have felt a wave of exhaustion due to the uncertainty and new working conditions at some point. Some people must have rebounded without any efforts and the good news for those who didnโt is, the condition can be reversed with some efforts.
Here is a list of things that you can do for mental and emotional replenishment:ย
Exercise and eat healthy
A healthy being can overcome anything. Exercising not only distracts you but the physical stress leads to release of happy hormones that elevate your mood. The pandemic might not allow you to hit the gym but you can still workout at home.
Indigestion is a sign of emotional exhaustion and even if you feel like eating a lot or eating nothing at all, try and stick to a healthy, nutritious diet as it will not only energise you and make your gut happy but also help with your sleeping schedule and workout routine. Staying hydrated is also a must for a healthy body.
Indulge in calming activities
Meditation and Yoga are a few activities that lead to peace of mind. They are also effective in helping with the blood pressure and heart rate which are associated with stress. There are a lot of breathing exercises in Yoga Asanas that can help the erratic breathing associated with panic attacks and just hyperventilation,
A diary can become an outlet for everything that you are feeling and going through and you wonโt have to worry about what it would think about you.
Distract yourself
Everything and everyone comes after your own well being. Take a break and do what makes you happy. If you think, nothing makes you happy, think again! Do something different, learn something new. Hang out with your friends and talk to them about their life. Knowing that other people have it rough too and what they do to fix their situation can not only make you feel that you are not the only one but also give you ideas. Maybe, what you need is a solo trip. Try out everything that can help openly.
Actively seek help
Talk to someone – be it a therapist or a close friend. Sometimes you just want to feel validated and empathised with. The person may not advise you anything but having someone to talk to about and someone who would listen to your pain and agony will definitely help you feel better.
What if you could choose your own office? What if you could change the dim, fluorescent lights from a cubicle, with a large open space. One where the wind would caress your face gingerly, and you could hear the waves breaking at the shore, not too far away. To make this Mediterranean setting complete, what if you could sip on your drink from a coconut while tapping passionately at your keyboard? Sounds highly idyllical, doesnโt it? Not to twist the knife in the wound, but this is more than feasible. By choosing the path of self-employment, you can pick your own place to work from. And this is just one of the many benefits of freelancing.
The workforce emerges in different directions
Itโs true, most individuals frown upon the idea of freelancing because aside from the plenty of misconceptions available, it seems to be an unreliable job. Think about it: you are living from paycheck to paycheck, from client to client.
However, itโs highly understandable why most people fear this. After all, freelancing started as an option for income supplementation, and the main idea was not necessarily to find constant projects but to find some when you needed them. Yet in the past years, with millennials entering the workforce, it became a reliable alternative to 9-to-5 jobs. Moreover, because of the traction, it gained in the past years, companies of all sizes โ including enterprises are reorienting themselves into hiring freelancers as well, not only full-time employees.
Now, I wonโt claim that office jobs will be dead in a certain amount of time, but what I do say instead is that it could be a good option for you to take into the account the idea ofย going freelance, at some point, especially if you are seeking things such as flexibility, variety, work-life balance and more. Since I do not enjoy making claims without any arguments, here are 5 benefits of freelancing
*) Flexibility
Keeping all the prejudices aside on how millennials do this, do that, โdestroyโ industries, one of the highest desire of the upcoming generations is flexibility. Whether we talk about having the option of choosing the time to start working or the amount in one day, flexibility is one of the main benefits of freelancing. Aside from this, freelancing gives you the option to work from anywhere โ your own home, a cafรฉ, another city or another country, as long as you have a stable connection to the Internet
*) Thriving on variety
One of the greatest benefits of freelancing is having the opportunity to dip your toes into a pool of possibilities. Usually, freelancers work on a variety of projects, from several industries. Itโs not unheard of working only with one, but thatโs usually a matter of choice (and of income).
Thus, going freelance will give you the chance to grow, to expand your horizons and to achieve plenty of knowledge and an impressive portfolio. This way, you will be some sort of Jack of all trades (but better than a master of none), in your own field
*) Its a companion
Letโs be honest about something โ when having a full-time job, even if you have the chance to work on various projects, choosing which one to work on, is not one of the perks. This way, you might find yourself stuck with a project that goes against your ethical and moral objections, or would stick you in a routine. Even worse, in case your company provides services for other clients, thereโs always the option into finding one who is either overly-demanding or aggressive.
On the other hand, ย one of the benefits of freelancing is this โย you get to choose who to work with. If your client comes to you with a project proposal that doesnโt fit you, or his behavior is not one of your likings, you can always refuse. However, if this is the case, you need to have a plan B. Which, usually freelancers do have โ and thus we can talk about another benefit
*)financial security
The idea of living from project to project, without knowing if the income will be enough to pay the bills, is indeed scaring. Yet, history has shown us that having a full-time job, doesnโt necessarily reassure you that you will have the financial security you wish for.
Working as a freelancer makes you aware that maybe, not all the gigs you have are 100% certain. In numerous cases, projects can be cut short for a variety of reasons โ budget, style, relationship between the client and the provider and more. Because of this, you will always be prepared to have a Plan B, C or Z, and you wonโt leave things to fate.
There is some cost-cutting involved
Maybe this isnโt the main benefit of freelancing, but itโs worth mentioning โ working on your own can help you to reduce some of the costs. For instance, if you choose to work from home, you will cut on gas or any other type of commute. Even more, you might have some cost-cuts on food as well, since you can organize your work as you please and you might squiz in some time to cook. However, working from another place, such as a coworking or a cafรฉ, might increase the costs. But then again, as a freelancer, you can always pick a place closer to your home.
