Give Yourself a Hug

“Society taught me that no matter what size I am, I will never be good enough. I’ll always be too skinny, too fat, too short, too tall. Too this, too that.”

– Unknown

People from all walks of life, battle different forms of insecurities every second of the day. Insecurities basically sprout when all the broken fragments of society i.e. us, force other people to adhere to the so called norms of the society to ‘fit in’.

See the source image

One of the biggest insecurity people encounter is with regard to their body and looks. The fact that beauty is absolutely subjective, seems to escape our minds while establishing the perfect body type , nose and lip shapes.

Body Image

Body image refers to the subjective idea that a person has of his own body, it may or may not be actually the way he/she appears. According to Psychology Today, “Body image is subject to all kinds of distortions from the attitudes of one’s parents, other early experiences, internal elements like emotions or moods, and other factors.”

Negative body image may start forming when you notice, say, a minor flaw in your body and then overthink it out of proportions, so much so that it leaves an indelible impression on your mind.

See the source image

Body image of a person influences his/her social interactions and some level of mental functioning. Negative aspects of body image can lead to severe social and behavioural distortions.

See the source image

Also quoted from Psychology Today, “Thoughts and opinions about one’s body can start forming as early as 3 years of age. Often this is a direct result of a parent’s relationship with their own bodies. How a parent sees herself is influential and can mould a child’s ideas about their body.

See the source image

Although its as hard to be Ken as it is Barbie but the negatives of body image have been largely found in women. The statistics of men are found to be lower in this context.

Insecurities

According to statistics about 80% women and 34% men are insecure of and dissatisfied with their body. Body insecurities cause people to break down.

See the source image
See the source image

These insecurities stem mainly from the desire to look a certain way and fit a certain beauty standard. Teenagers feel the need to be perfectly thin or perfectly proportionate and muscular, lack of which could lead to a state extreme mental trauma.

See the source image

Also, people instead of focusing on their own physical and mental growth, divest a large portion of their time in useless comparisons with other people, which leads to them cornering their mental selves even further instead of something positive coming out of it.

Give Yourself a Hug

Everyone in this world is insecure of one thing or the other. Body insecurity is a serious peril that people need to overcome, in order to enjoy this limited life to the fullest. Body insecurity and the negativity that it gives rise to prevents people from seeking joy in their life, it constantly looms like a dark cloud over their head.

See the source image

People dealing with such issues need to look for the silver lining in this dark cloud. People need to stop striving for perfection sand embrace themselves, flaws and everything.

See the source image

People suffering from insecurity need to strengthen their will and imbibe and assimilate the fact that,’ All bodies are beautiful’, completely.

See the source image

Every circle of darkness in life is followed by an impending circle of light. We must have a firm belief in the goodness of things and have a strong self confidence.

Wound your arms tightly around yourself and let your love heal you. Give yourself a tight hug!

”Healing may not be so much about getting better, as about letting go of everything that isn’t you – all of the expectations, all of the beliefs – and becoming who you are.”

CONSERVE WATER, CONSERVE LIFE

WATER- THE UNIVERSAL SOLVENT

Water is an essential component of our daily life. We drink water every day. More than 50% of the human body is made up of water. Not only humans, but all living organisms starting macro-organisms from plants, animals, reptiles, mushrooms to microorganisms also need water for the survival of life. Water is a chemical compound made up of hydrogen and oxygen. It is made up of several million molecules. About 71% of the earth’s surface is made up of water. And the remaining 29% is continents and islands. 97% of water is salty and only 3% of water is freshwater. An in this 3%, only 1.2% of water is drinkable and the remaining is in the form of glaciers, ice caps, and snow mountains. Water is also known as a universal component because it has the power of dissolving more substances than other liquids. But many people in today’s world are wasting fresh water. This leads to the water scarcity problem.

WATER SCARCITY AND ITS CAUSES

Water scarcity is defined as the insufficient amount of water to meet the demands of water usage within a region. A shortage occurs when there is a rise in demand and not enough supply to meet the demand. Water scarcity occurs because of both natural and human causes. We all know that water is not equally distributed on the earth’s surface, so water scarcity does not occur at the global level but some places are shortage of water. Some of the major causes for water scarcity are listed below:

  1. INCREASE IN POPULATION: The increase in population increases the water demand. Nowadays people are wasting water without knowing the effects that may cause in future generations.
  2. POLLUTION OF WATER: Water pollution is another major cause of water scarcity. Many industries release their wastewater into lakes which are the sources of freshwater. The release of harmful chemicals into the water may have several disadvantages include new diseases, loss of habitat for aquatic animals, etc.,
  3. GLOBAL WARMING: The rise in the earth’s temperature causes global warming. Due to this monsoon failure occurs in some places and those areas suffer from drought which leads to a shortage of water.
  4. GROUNDWATER POLLUTION: Unwanted usage of fertilizers and pesticides in agriculture may cause groundwater pollution. This makes the groundwater polluted and unable to consume it.
  5. DEFORESTATION: The cutting of trees over a large area is known as deforestation. We all know that rainwater is the source of water. Deforestation leads to monsoon failure in some places which in turn causes water scarcity in that area.

HOW TO SAVE WATER?

It is everyone’s responsibility to save water for the present and future generations. Here are some tips to save water:

  • Recycle the water. Use the domestic wastage of water for watering the plants. This reduces water scarcity.
  • Create awareness programs among people to understand the importance of fresh water and the ways to save it for the present and future generations.
  • Improve the irrigation practices in agriculture. Use sprinkler irrigation to reduce the wastage of water wherever possible.
  • Use organic manure in agricultural lands rather than pesticides and chemical fertilizers. This will not affect the groundwater and hence no water scarcity.
  • Limit your usage of water in the house. Turn off your water while brushing. Check for the leakage of taps. Avoid usage of the shower.
  • Practicing rainwater harvesting is the most efficient way to save water. It increases the groundwater level and thus no water shortage.
  • Solar desalination and smart irrigation system help in sustainable water management.
  • Invest in new water-conserving technologies in the areas of water scarcity.

Attraction

Ever thought why do we get attract to someone? Well everyone has different answer to it. For some it can be the way one look, smiled, walk or may be their was an unusual aura around that one.

What is attraction?

Attraction, especially in a romantic way, is a complex process that take place in our brains, and has had it’s roots since it’s beginning of the humankind. It’s our minds way of telling us who has the potential to be our partner, our friend, or even our soulmate, and is based on a complex blend of our interest, values, experience, and desire. Physical and romantic attraction, which are often focused on, are only small facets of a much larger equation.

Psychologist look at the ingredients of attraction is in a form of pyramid, split into 4 different sections.

The base of the pyramid is made up of health and status:-

  • Status – 1. internal (confidence, self set, beliefs) 2. External (person’s job, possession and appearance.
  • Health – Physical attributes, smell, basic level of intelligence.

If the potential partners passes these initial requirements then we move to the center of the pyramid, which are the emotional factors:- includes

  • trust comfort someone wants,
  • their emotions intelligence, and
  • unique characteristics.

The final portion of the pyramid is “Logic”.This is the part that differentiate us from other animals, and is the part where our brains seriously

  • considers whether we are totally compatible for that person.
  • It ensure that the other person is aligned with us in term of what they want – things such as marriage, children, even the city they want to live.

According to this model, the more alignment there is, the more attraction there is, but it doesn’t always have to follow from bottom to top – like online dating.

What makes someone Attractive?

The answer to this questions make come to our mind is physical traits. Due to the influence of media, we tend to favor women who is younger, and more feminine features, in men on the other side, qualities such as broad shoulders, a deep voice, and strong jawline are highly upon.

Scientists suggest that, these also have an evolutionary origin because these traits are associated with a higher chance of producing health offspring and passing of good genes. Also, values, culture, and the environment, that we grow in also plays an important role.

Hence, attractiveness is complex, there’s a number of different perspective to consider, and at the end of the day, there’s very little we can choosing who we are attracted to. As each person looks for unique set of traits and, while physical traits are often focused there are far more factors that come into play. A person’s upbringing, behavior and even lifestyle have major influence. The most important thing to remember is to be happy and make the most of it.

Music can change you

These days we hear music all the time, it wakes us up, motivates our workouts, keeps us company on our commutes. It doesn’t matter what kind of music it is, it itself has the ability to affect our moods and our bodies in all sorts of ways. It can give us chills even can make us cry.

Effects on Brain

Music activates every area of the brain that scientists have mapped so far. In fact, there is no area of the brain that music doesn’t touching some ways.

25 years ago there was an idea which said that language is in left side of the brain and music is in right side of the brain but now with better quality tools, higher resolution, neuroimaging and better experimental methods, it is discovered that thats not at all right so how does it effects our brain?

When music enters and then gets shuttled off to different parts of the brain:-

  1. It stops at specialise processing units in auditory cortex, they track loudness, pitch, rhythm, etc.
  2. The visual cortex activates when you’re reading notes as a musician or watching music.
  3. Motor cortex activates when you move or dance or tap your feet, snap fingers, clapping your hands.
  4. The Cerebellum activates and immediate the emotional responses.
  5. The memory system in the Hippocampus will activate and will help you to recognise any familiar music or lines that you listen

Hence, music is going on in both halves of the brain, left and right, the front, back, the inside, and the outside.

How playing Instruments helps?

We can start learning to play instrument at any age. Picking up an instrument can provide some huge benefits for Intelligence, Physical well-being, Brain.

Playing an instrument requires:-

  • Auditory motor
  • Sensory
  • Visual system to work together

This inner system cooperation has some incredible outcomes that can affect many areas of life.

Different intensities of training produce different outcomes, even the most minimal practice can make a difference. Starting to play an instrument just one hour a week for few months can cause growth and increased activity in the parts of the brain responsible for memory, hearing, and motor. Researchers have found that this kind of activities can even increase IQ by 7 point or more.

Its also known that people who play musical instrument are better at other practical things too such as:-

  • Practical emotions
  • Learning new things/tasks

Music is so much more than notes on a page, it can change the way we think, speak and feel. Music making and listen is really complex it’s not demystified till now it’s more mysterious than ever.

BASICS OF PERSONAL FINANCE

SETTING UP SMART FINANCIAL GOALS:

Every person should have clear goals in his/her life to lead a healthy and wealthy life. There is a story which has happened 60 years ago, in 1963, a 29 years old professor who is teaching Accountancy in an American university asked his students that how many of them have written their goals in life? Surprisingly only 9 out of 300 students have written their goals of life on a piece of paper. Then after 30 years later. i.e, in 1993, all the students came to visit a college and they visited the same professor who is now 59 years old. He calculated the net worth of each person. It turned out that only 9 people each of whose net worth is greater than the combined net worth of 291 people. And interestingly those 9 people were those who had written their goals 30 years ago. So, it is important to have clear financial goals in your life. There are three important elements in setting up financial goals. They are

  1. SMART IT: Smart stands for Specific Measurable Achievable Relevant and Time. One has to be clear of exactly what he wants to have, how much he has to have, whether it is achievable and relevant, and when he wishes to have that.
  2. TIME IT: Goals can be immediate, short term, medium-term and long term. The task you have to do within 30 days is immediate goals. For example, buying an android phone. The task that takes a year to accomplish is short-term goals. For example, to buy a television. The goals that require up to 3 years come under the medium-term goal. Example: having own bike, travel for vacation. The long-term goals require more than 3 years. This includes, to study in abroad for a high school student.
  3. WRITE IT: It is always better to write your goals in a sheet of diary so that the goals stay long in your mind and you can achieve it.

POWER OF COMPOUNDING:

There is a thought that compound interest is considered the eighth wonder of the world. Compound interest earns interest on the interest rather than the simple interest which earns interest only on the principal amount. For example, a principal amount of thousand rupees for ten years at a rate of ten percent will earn thousand rupees at simple interest and thousand five hundred and ninety-three rupees in compound interest. So when it comes to investing, compound interest is always better since it allows the fund to grow at a faster rate. So you have to remind these three principles

  1. The longer the time, the more money will grow.
  2. Earlier the investment you made, better you are.
  3. Smaller savings over a long period will earn more amount.

MAINTAINING RECORDS (ACTUALS AND BUDGETS)

Everyone has to maintain proper financial records so that you can know the level of spending and savings from your income. There are several sources of income. For adults, it may be salary from the job, profit through business, and interest on savings. For college students, the source of income may be pocket money from parents, gifts received from relatives, stipends from internships, etc., and expenses may be college fees, mess bills, fuel expenses, mobile recharge bills. So it is always better to write down the financial records to use the money effectively. At the start of every month, do budget planning and save at least twenty percent of your savings. Proper planning and execution will help for the wise usage of money. In between this process, maintain financial records.

Strings attached: A new concept

The day I started getting far away from all the strings was the day I found myself caught among those strings.

These strings were nothing but the relationships I was in, I am friend to few, daughter to two, and sister to one. Sometimes I think if our life was just about us, then why our story isn’t, our story contains all characters which were role-played by thousands of people who led our way to complete our story. These people are like beads on a string some fall off, some stays but everyone had a role.

With time passing by, and we growing up through different age groups have witnessed cutting off of strings leaving behind memories and pain and strings attached from who have decided to stay and support.

Strings hold us both in negative and positive ways. They will be there to share victory with, tears to shed down with and shoulder to lean on and few strings which might weaken you. You have to be cautious while you sort out the various strings. When we were child , our world felt small yet sufficient and our dreams came with no expiry date. Teenage and adulthood are the age of being a rebel. The strings which were shielding us, start feeling like a boundary which is taking away our independence. How are we so sure that are independence lies away from those strings?

We cover miles, all of us travel in our life journey but at the end of day we all come back to our home i.e;to that string in whose embrace we can grow. We all are weird , just in different ways, we want things to get dispatched but are also waiting for a parcel to come up saying “P.S. I love you.” We ain’t sure about the doorway to our life shall be left open to let people walk in or door shall be closed to keep away toxicity. It feels like a lot to decide on, but keeping decisions wait listed has surrounded us with pile around.

When I ponder upon this concept , the string which is connected to me from far away, seems to be more strong as compared to the one who is close by me. Maybe things which are far away are much easier to handle as compared to those we have to come across daily.

What is ‘No strings attached ‘ ? I think whoever have been a part of our life has also got their strings attached but then , it’s there will if they want to be attached or just walk away. Walking away different ways is called ‘ no strings attached .’

Life is too short to mess it up, instead find a way out to strings which will strengthen you more.

Safety Travel Precautions To Be Followed During COVID- 19 Outbreak

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), you need to follow certain rules and precautions to keep yourself safe if you travel during the COVID-19 outbreak. Traveling is riskier during the coronavirus outbreak, especially in light of the delta variant. But these tips can help keep your trip as safe as possible.

1.Wash your hands habitually:

The main thing that you can do to try not to get contaminated by COVID is routinely washing your hands. Make sure that it’s not simply a speedy flush with cleanser and water. You need to wash your hands for in any event twenty to thirty seconds at whatever point you get an opportunity, particularly subsequent to getting to public spaces specially after accessing public spaces or if you have taken a mode of public transport. If you took the flight to a place, wash your hands after leaving the airport. Always keep a hand sanitiser gel with you. In case you don’t get access to soap and water, you put a few drops of the sanitiser gel and rub it on your hands and wrists.

2. Keep your safe distance:

The symptoms of coronavirus disease are similar to that of common flu or cold. So, if you see someone is coughing, sneezing or has any common signs of flu, try to stay at least three feet away from that person. It’s possible to contract the virus through respiratory droplets by cough or sneeze.

3. Make sure to try not to contact your face with unwashed hands:

Avoid contacting your face except if you haven’t altogether cleaned your hands and particularly when you have been in a public spot. It can undoubtedly spread to somebody who interacts with the item through their mouth, nose, and eyes.

4. Always wear a mask:

If you develop the symptoms of the COVID-19, wear a mask so that you don’t further spread the virus and infect other people. Isolate yourself and seek medical help immediately.

5. Stay away from swarms:

Crowds are the most noticeably awful spot to be during the Covid episode. In case you’re venturing out to a spot with countless Coronavirus cases, avoid any spot with many individuals.

6. Do Your Research:

Before you decide to travel and pack your bags, do your research. Are cases rising where you’re going? What about where you live? If the answer is yes to one or both questions, you’re at a higher risk for getting or spreading the virus. Also, keep in mind that states and countries have varying travel restrictions. Some may not allow travel or may require proof that you’ve recently tested negative and/or been vaccinated before visiting. For more information, check your destination’s official tourism site.

7. Preparing for Travel:

A little preparation can go a long way. Use applications to check into your flight online and scan for touchless boarding. Bring a mask, hand sanitizer and wipes to clean your phone, ID and any other items you may need to exchange at security checkpoints.

8. Notice Your Surroundings:

Whether on a bus, train or plane, check your surroundings before boarding or take off. Is everyone wearing masks? Does the bus or train have good ventilation? Do the people closest to you, seem sick or rundown? If so, it’s not worth the risk. Exit the plane, bus or train and catch the next one.

9. Safe Bathroom visits:

Wash your hands thoroughly and bring your own paper towels. Hand dryers can blast dead skin cells and germs into the air. Use a towel to open the door and toss disposable masks after exiting.

A Guide to Introverts

Do you know people who are too shy to interact or speak up, who prefer their own company and actually enjoy it? It often leaves people with personality traits different than that of introverts, befuddled to see introverts having the time of their lives- alone!

Here is a write up to help you understand more about introverted people.

“Telling an introvert to go to a party is like telling a saint to go to Hell.”

-Criss Jami, Killosophy

Introduction to Introverts

Merriam Webster defines introversion as the state of or tendency toward being predominantly concerned with and obtaining gratification from one’s own mental life.

See the source image

Introvert is one of the, basic personality types according to the theories of the 20th-century Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung. According to these theories, an introvert is a person whose interest is generally directed inward toward his own feelings and thoughts.

See the source image

The typical introvert is shy, contemplative, and reserved and tends to have difficulty adjusting to social situations. Excessive daydreaming and introspection, careful balancing of considerations before reaching decisions, and withdrawal under stress are also typical of the introverted personality.

Takeaway:

  • In simpler words, introversion is the state of being shy and quiet, and preferring to be alone than in company of people.
  • Introverts are people whose character traits are marked by signs of introversion. These are the quiet, observant wallflowers who stick to the corners than the limelight.

Fun Fact:

Scientifically, introverts are highly sensitive to dopamine (feel good hormone) and large quantities of it can make them overstimulated as opposed to extraverts.

Signs of Introversion

  • They prefer to be alone than seek company.

  • They may prefer writing over vocalising things. They are often not great talkers.

“Writing is something you do alone. Its a profession for introverts who want to tell you a story but don’t want to make eye contact while doing it.”

John Green
  • They may fear social confrontations and speaking in large groups due to a fear of humiliation.

  • They mentally rehearse before speaking.
See the source image
  • They are in constant need of privacy
  • They tend to be observant and pick up things by observing them.
  • Vulnerable to bouts of anxiousness or social anxiety.

Conclusion:

Some people enjoy their own company, some people are apprehensive in sharing everything about themselves, some people prefer solicitude, some people prefer to speak less, some people don’t open up to others or take time.

Prodding people to come out of a place that you deem lonely might not always be the brightest idea. Don’t become energy vampires, draining people of their energy.

How To Become a Reader

“I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of any thing than of a book! When I have a house of my own, I shall be miserable if I have not an excellent library.”

-jane Austen, Pride and prejudice

Reading has to be one of the most cherished and enjoyable pastime of all times. It is said that, a person who reads leads a thousand lives. True to these words ,reading can literally sweep you off your feet into a wondrous realm and bewitch your senses to escape the mundane.

Reading books benefits both your physical and mental health, and those benefits can last a lifetime. They begin in early childhood and continue through the senior years.

Reading strengthens the brain, increases empathy, builds vocabulary, prevents cognitive decline, reduces stress, alleviates depression, aids sleep etc.

I often feel sorry for people who don’t read books; they are missing a chance to live an extra life.

For people who want make up the time they lost not reading, here is series of things that might help you read better and more.

1. Explore:

Explore what you would like to read and warm up to your preferences.

The trope that classics are for everyone or everyone would love a good mystery is outdated. People are not coerced into reading like that anymore. Reading requires much more than just picking up a random book, there are such diverse genera to choose from that it leaves you befuddled. Before traipsing into the world of books, you should divest some to explore the genera you’d like to read or the much hyped, ‘To read’ lists according to your liking, available on the internet.

Exploring the reading content would not only help you find your perfect book, it would also ultimately pique your interest in reading and help you go a long way.

2. Take your time:

Remember, there is no rush to finish a book in a days time or a week. Everyone reads at their own pace. Books are meant to be savored not read in a rush just for the sake of finishing them. You can go at your pace or read in intervals, whatever suits you and your schedule.

Enjoy the process of going through a book, a new journey. Do not mar your experience because of some imprudent judgement on your part.

3. Opinions:

It is absolutely alright to not like a certain book that the entire world raves about. It is better to read a ‘bad’ book than read a ‘good’ book in heedless adoration. one of the purposes of reading is to expand our cognitive horizons, to help aid our thought process, forming opinions even unpopular ones are fine and you shouldn’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

4. Start Easy:

You might want to begin reading with books that do not make your head go in circles. Collections of short stories, fiction books, with relatively lucid plots and engaging story lines or Non-fiction books, like short biographies would be a perfect place to start.

Reading magazines and newspapers that are readily available may help.

I never met MY FRIEND (but he is always there for me)

A friend is the one who knows you as 'you', understand where you have come from, accept what you have become and still gently allows you to grow.

A friend is the only person in the entire world whose company we are entitled to choose and friendship is the only bond which is not predefined or based on birth. Friendship is created with open mind and heart and with pure emotions.

But as the pandemic don’t allow physical gathering and contact between friends, so the mode of friendship have also shifted to online. Friendship on phone is a whole different thing. Now I can be friends with anyone, anywhere in this World, with whom I can connect. Friendship on internet have allowed me to find people across the world who truly understand me and can interact with. Though they are virtual I cannot see them or touch them but I can still feel the bond between us which is so adorable and can feel their love for me.

A friend who is always there with their shoulder to cry on it’s, obvious not possible as they are virtual technically ,but still feels like they are always here to support us, console us, motivate us. I haven’t seen my virtual friends for real but I’ve bond with him even my real life friends can’t match ,because my that only friend is only one call Or message away from me. We share a lot of common traits like introvert nature, sarcastic nature etc. They give me best advice and they show love and affection for me and console me in rough time. But surely The friendship where we can hangout with our friends is special but online or virtual friendship is nothing less in comparison. As now we are separated by physical forces but I am still connected with my friends and I feel like I always have their back and can share my hardship and feeling with them.

But online friendship comes with a price we have to be cautious about who we wanna be friends with if we can trust that person or not. Many people on social media run fake accounts and steal vietens personal information. We have read and witnessed so much about cyber crime. So awareness is necessary. We have to decide how much information and with whom we wanna share with.

Friendship creates so many memorable life experiences for us ofcourse offline friendship is a difficult thing. But we have to deal with every situation in the best possible way. So even if in the hard time l am still connected with the people whom I get love through. Everything more courageously and l feel like the most luckiest person on the earth.

A friend in need is friend in deed. 🙂

BLOGGING vs VLOGGING – Major Differences!

One of the hottest debates in the digital world is blogging vs vlogging, both blogging and vlogging can help businesses and individuals grow their brand and make money online. The good thing about the digital space is that anyone can start blogging or vlogging. The startup costs, so to speak, are minimal. However, you have to have a strategy in place to succeed, as there’s tons of competition.

As there is a rapid rise in online video content, vlogging is also becoming a good option to generate income. But is it better than blogging? Let’s learn in this detailed blogging vs vlogging comparison.

What is a Blog?

Originally called a weblog, Blogs can be standalone websites or part of another website. Blogs can feature other media, too, like pictures, videos, audio clips, in addition to text. Just how you read op-eds in the newspaper, blogs are spaces for people to express their opinion or share their knowledge. Blogs are often created and managed by individuals but are also popular on business websites. People who write blog posts are called bloggers. Blogs typically contain dynamic links to other online content and may also include interactive or community engagement components such as a comments section. Blogs started out primarily as text documents, but today’s far more sophisticated blogs often feature dynamic visuals and videos.

What is a Vlog?

A vlog, or video log, is the video equivalent of a blog. Like blogs, most vlogs target a niche audience that shares common interests and needs. While vlogs can and should be supported by text or metadata, the star of a vlog is the person or people talking on the video, everything that’s written in a blog presented in video format with vocals and visuals.

Interestingly, the term vlog came about the same time YouTube became popular, which is the early 2000s. It’s not surprising as YouTube basically gave rise to vlogging. Just like blogs, vlogs can be related to a business or an individual.

As for the video content, it can be anything. From scientific data to personal stories to tutorials, vlog encompasses anything and everything you could think of finding on the internet.

Key Differences between Blog and Vlog

The key differences between blogging and vlogging are the degree to which the content creator uses video as well as where the content is hosted. If you love talking to people and feel comfortable on camera—and don’t necessarily want to build a website—vlogging may be best for you. If you’re a person who excels at the written word and wants to create your own website, blogging may be right for you.

Many people are choosing to blog and vlog as they find that using both text-based and video-based content helps them reach the widest audience possible.

Popularity

The most important thing in blogging vs vlogging comparison is which niche is more popular? Where is the traffic?

Video content is now certainly more popular than textual format. Video is slated to comprise a whopping 82% of the entire internet traffic. This is why video has become an extremely important marketing medium for all digital platforms.

In terms of popularity, vlogs may have a bigger potential audience just because of the nature of the media. For instance, YouTube has two billion users who watch one billion hours of videos every day.

With all those stats, video content has more outreach than a blog. That said, in certain scenarios, a blog may perform better than a vlog. Again, it depends on the niche and the audience as to what media they prefer.

Also, blogs now also feature videos regularly for this very reason. The richer the media, the more audience you can cater to. Many bloggers also make vlogs and use them in their blog posts. Others use videos from other creators to optimize their blogs and give it a visual feel.

Monetization

Dollars stack close-up Stock Photo by ©svl861 21072415

Monetization isn’t that different for a blog or a vlog, but the level of monetization may vary. Most blogs and vlogs make money through advertisements. However, vlogs rely more on advertisements than blogs and perhaps make good money from it. You can also make money blogging by using affiliate links. You work with affiliate marketing programs, such as Amazon Associates Program, and earn commission every time someone purchases something with your affiliate link.

Vlogs can also employ affiliate links in their text descriptions, but it remains more popular for blogs.

Another method of monetization is sponsorship, which is more common for vlogs. You basically get a sponsor who pays you to mention their brand or product in the video to promote it.

A lot of vloggers make money through sponsorships, but that doesn’t kick in until you have a lot of subscribers or followers.

Audience

The evolution of Internet traffic - Maurizio NaldiMaurizio Naldi

The audience for both pretty much depends on the niche you’re pursuing. However, some demographics might be more inclined toward reading. Similarly, some people respond to visual data better.

For instance, if your audience is young, perhaps people under 20, vlogging may be a much more viable solution than blogging. Younger demographics usually prefer watching videos over reading articles.

Conclusion

There are pros and cons to both as we’ve covered in the differences. If there’s one thing that’s common for both blogs and vlogs is that both require a lot of hard work and give you some tough competition. However, you can easily stand out with original content that gives people what they are looking for.

Successful people have a large bookshelf. Reading is a common habit in every successful person’s daily routine. Reading turns to be calm and organized in life. Reading improves your memory power. It also reduces stress and keeps your brain healthy.

Ideas are the vital thing that played a role in every successful person’s life. A small idea can build an empire. When you are sitting alone, think creatively and talk to yourself for better ideas. Note down those small ideas in a paper and choose which one is suitable for you. Once you select one of these, take immediate action.

By setting the objective you have a clear vision of what you want to achieve in your life. Make a list of temporary and long-term goals and set your deadlines accordingly. Set your goals measurable, achievable, specific, and realistic so that you will achieve them within a time frame.

Exercise

70 percent of successful people exercise for at least 30mins every day. It can help you to maintain your health, reduce your risk of many chronic diseases. Exercise makes you productive and motivates you to work for long hours.

Sex Education

What is sex? Is it normal to talk about it? Why sex education is important?

Avoidance of this topic, increased my willingness to write on this topic. I will try to cover up these questions in my article.

Sex is the most common word used for sexual intercourse, having various synonymous such as coitus, commerce, lovemaking, sexact etc. It is completely obvious for mammals to perform intercourse. It’s the reason for our existence, so why we avoid talking about it? It don’t make us inferior if we talk about it, it must be included in primary education . Yeah it take time to bring a change, we have saw addition of reproduction and menstrual cycle in our Academic syllabus in past decades, now we are looking forward to include sex education also soon.

I was 10 years old , when I got my first period. A blood stain on my white frock, I was amused and scared , my mother watched me out and I was told, ‘Ab tum badi ho gyi ho’ It felt like lot, like my life has just changed in few minutes, I was a tiny girl few minutes back and now I am an adult with responsibilities. It felt like lot to bear, my mum guided me with how to handle sanitary napkins and hygiene. Knowing the fact that all this new thing is going to happen now every month scared shit out of me. So this is the story how I came to know about Menstrual Cycle.

In 6th , a boy became good friend of mine , charming , cute boy. I used to talk to him a lot, and one day he held my hands out, it might seem no big thing to you, but it beacame my biggest fear. My periods were delayed and all I could think was Am I pregnant because my friend holded my hand. Hilarious? Offcourse it is. But yes, that’s were we lacked acknowledging the requirement of sex education in our schools and family. I could not talk about this to anyone, back in those years I was not aware of incognito so searching ‘delayed periods reason’ which would apper in the search history of my parents phone abstained me from searching it. So I was all alone with my miseries and fear. I was scared if my own family is going to accept me because my friend holded my hand that made me pregnant.

Luckily ,I got my periods a week later. I felt so relaxed, as if god has listened to my prayers and helped me out from the trauma. Remembering that incident still make me laugh, if someone could have just told be right reasons, I won’t be that lonely kid feeling guilty then. If family is supposed to be the closest, then these things should be made normal to talk about, we can’t just wait and avoid.

Sex education is required in family, society and at schools. We can just normalize out things instead of covering it up. We will see a better understanding upcoming generations , where things will be heard and solution will be well entertained and implemented.

  2. LEARN FROM OTHERS: Learning is a great habit to improve yourself. Learning happens everywhere. Even a small kid can teach something that will be useful for you and others around you. Also, speak in front of mirrors so that you can see your body language and expression.

  10. THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK: Consider your words while you are communicating with others. Don’t use harsh words while speaking. You must be calm, honest, and also respectful.

COMFORT ZONE- FRIEND OR ENEMY

The comfort zone is a psychological state in which one feels familiar, safe, calm and secure.

– Roy T. Benett

“A comfort zone is a beautiful place but nothing ever grows here.”

Comfort zone as a friend ~

If something makes us feel safer, it could be our friend. This statement supports comfort zone to be our closest friend. And yes, it is our friend let’s see how.

• Drawing an experience

If you perform a task multiple times, you become master of it, so is the case of comfort zone. You are expert at it. You are experienced and well known to how things will work out , it is your arena where you know where are loopholes and how to make cover ups. Working in your comfort zone gives you experience.

• Confidence building

You become self assured with things around you, and that makes you more confidence. They feeling of being familiar, to the situations avoid all kind of nervousness and risk.

• Minimizing risk

Being in your comfort zone decreases chances of risk. We like to be in our ‘restricted zone’ because it is easier for us. Hence, chances of failure reduces. Less failure, more your performance will be maintained. Also it provides an equilibrium as well as stability in our field.

• Learn about yourself

Working with your comfort zone , you are aware of your strengths and how to use it. It also gives you platform where you are calm and comfortable knowing about yourself.

Comfort zone as an enemy ~

“Life begins at the end of comfort zone.”

• Death of curiosity

“Curiosity is the fuel of adventure, injury and learning.

Curiosity is what makes us human , ‘the eagerness to know’. Without being curious we cannot learn and discover. In every field questioning is more important than answers, good questions comes from great minds. Being in your comfort zone and not having eagerness demise all your opportunities to discover.

• No risk, no rewards

Insecurity loves to feed on your habit of not trying.

Whenever we try something new, there is always risk of failure , but if we not try we’ll never be able to know about our extends. For winning an unknown battlefield, we should have courage to take risk and to come out as a winner. (Reminder : if you lose, you still have learned). Coming out from your comfort zone will bring you to a position where miracles happen in form of learning something new i.e; rewards.

• Boundaries raised before growth

” To the degree we are not living our dreams, our comfort zone has more control of us than we have ourselves. ” ~ Peter McWilliams

Comfort zone limits our growth, if we don’t grow we will be in the same position in which we were 10 years back and also going to be in the same position in next 10 years. It’s like being stagnant which provides no place for flexibility and rising. If something scares you the most, don’t hesitate to give it a try. It’s is good to be in uncomfortable situations because it is finding our way out of such difficulties that we learn valuable lessons.

• No new skills

“It’s not about getting out of our comfort zone, to reach out our goals. It’s about widening our comfort zone so far that our goals fits comfortably inside. ” ~ Richie Nortan

Learning new skills, let us know more about ourselves. Every new skill we learn help us live our life better and also leave space for growth, stretching your comfort zone, opens door for all new opportunities and victories. Skill helps in throughout growth of a personality. If something is holding you back , you need to push up to learn.

Struggles of being the ‘Weird One’

If there was a ratio analysis between a normal mundane and the ‘Weird one’, what would it be? Some would say it is half of the other or some would find being weird as abnormal, so naturally the count for the abnormal or the ‘weird one’ would be more. Because everyone in this world is weird in their way. Being weird is not being abnormal. It is being the most random version of yourself. To you, it would be something you do in your everyday life, whether it is biting the end of a pencil or singing and using your hairbrush as a mic. It is the perspective of the other that makes you weird. The other person would look at your pencil and would probably not use it thinking ‘what a weird person would do something like this, or someone would walk in your room while you are singing with your hairbrush and judge you by calling you a ‘weirdo’. That’s when you realize I am the weird one.

The struggles of being the weird one is nothing but a simple complexity of your own doing. Being weird is the new normal. It is good to be a different person; a unique idea that makes you stand out in the crowd. But that’s when the word ‘weird’ gets you thinking. Not being weird is a task that you hold every day. It is difficult for the weird one to not get judged. People judge and criticize those but do not think that they too have the struggles of being the weird one.

Everyone has their own battle that they have to face, their own obstacles they have to overcome. In such times being weird is the only sane way out. Whether it is using your signature dance moves which only you can do or if it is reading the spoiler of the book before reading it entirely. That is the hit you get by considering weirdness. Sometimes or for some people most of the time being the weird one is a compliment. It is what makes them different from other human beings or even aliens for that matter. The most interesting fact about being weird is that it is original. It comes from within a human, it is not made up to live up to anybody’s expectations. It is yours and yours to keep. Every individual has their weird abilities and they have full copyright to let them be theirs.

So to all the weird ones out there, be whatever you want to be. Be the weird neighbor who listens to old classical music. Be the one who moonwalks but not in reverse. Be the one who wears unmatched outfits to their office. Be the weird one because the struggles of being a weirdo are not much as they seem. They are just mere distractions to not being yourself. The struggles of being the weird one are not just struggles, they are trophies of being the best version of yourself.

WHERE IS YOUR WILL TO BE WEIRD?

How to learn anything!

We all want to learn something in our life. It can be a language or a skill or a technology, it can be anything. There are some steps that we need to follow in order to learn it because we can’t simply sit and wait for a miracle to happen. So, I am going to help you all with what I know on how to learn something.

  • First of all, keep the habit of writing down things, I don’t know who needs to hear this but writing things down will really helps us to organize our thoughts and helps us figure out what we are going to do with it.
  • Next step is to write down what you already know about it or what you can do in order to learn it. If you don’t know that you might want to do some research and put things down on a paper or a document. Writing things down simply helps us to collect our thoughts and remember them in a text format, so that you don’t miss out on anything. For example, If you want to learn French, you can write things like “I want to learn the French language. I have learnt the basics of it. I can recall them from ABC website. I will register a language course on ABC website and start learning it.
  • The next step is the most important while learning something. Make sure you schedule your timing for learning the particular skill. Start off at a slower pace like an hour a day and then slowly increase it as you get used to the study time. Put the timing down on a piece of paper and stick it to your study table so that you don’t forget.

  • Be serious about it. Even if it is a very small thing, it is you who wanted to learn it. It will give you happiness when you achieve it. So don’t skip it thinking that it is not required, unless you have some other important work to do.
  • Set a daily goal for yourself. Setting goals will push you to learn more. You will tend to see yourself actively learning without getting bored. I would say keep a check list for every day. Wake up early and write down a to-do list and make sure you check all of them by the end of the day.
  • Setting bigger goals sometimes can be overwhelming and suffocating so keep your goals smaller and achievable. You will see yourself progressing in learning the particular thing.
  • Practical knowledge is very important when you learn something. You can see yourself making very little progress when you just attend courses and take notes. you need to apply it somewhere and practice. That is why they say “Practice makes a man perfect“. Best example for this is learning a new language, only if you practice it by speaking in that language with someone you will get good at it. Otherwise by time, you will forget the things that you have learnt.

Happy learning!

On International Cat Day 2021-You should know that Cats Are the Finest Pet You Can Have

British Shorthair tortie and white female cat with tortie and white kitten, and chocolate and cream bicolour kittens

The cat (Felis catus) is a domestic species of small carnivorous mammal. It is the only domesticated species in the family Felidae and is often referred to as the domestic cat to distinguish it from the wild members of the family.

Owning a cat can bring unconditional love and companionship in your life. Having a cat can also help to relieve stress and improve your heart health.Owning a cat can be an extraordinarily rewarding relationship. A cat has the ability to both calm your nervous system and provide an immediate outlet for fun and play.

Most cats love to curl up in your lap at the end of a long day while you watch television or read a book. The simplicity of this act can cause an automatic release of all the right kinds of chemicals to your brain, allowing you to ease into the evening without the weight of the world on your shoulders.

On August 8, the world observes International Cat Day to celebrate and learn more about one of man’s common and ancient pets. Announced by International Fund for Animal Welfare, International Cat Day is being celebrated since 2002.  International Cat Day is celebrated to help raise public awareness about cats, to learn about ways to keep and protect them.

2. Cats are low maintenance:

cats are most fascinating quality is that they are lower maintenance and cost less than dogs, who need walking, training, frequent grooming, and more toys and attention.

3. Cats are ideal pets for apartments:

Cats are also perfect for apartments or city living. They don’t need tons of space to play and explore. Compared to dogs, cats require less space and can take better advantage of vertical space.

4. Cats are quiet:

cats are a great choice of pet. cats tend to meow when they’re hungry, but you rarely have to worry about being woken up or distracted from a task by a cat begging for attention. this makes them an ideal pet if you are working from home.

5.They’re independent:

cats are independent animals who like to scavenge and explore on their own terms, they are also very affectionate with their owners and people they trust. A cat will be there for you when you need them but they’re also perfectly adept at entertaining themselves. One of the best things about cats is that they are very independent creatures. Unlike dogs, who require quite a high level of attention cats are quite happy to have time to themselves.

How useful is a text summarizer for summary writing?

A summary is a short-extracted piece of an article that covers the complete topic’s context in a short paragraph. Reading a summary can save your time as you can have an idea of what you are going to read in that particular article.

Most of the readers directly go to the summary therefore, you must understand its significance and try to demonstrate the whole article in a well-structured piece to push your readers to read your complete article.

Summarizing an essay or article means condensing it by just focusing on key points and avoiding the details. Mentioning every little detail, in summary, is not a good idea. Try to be as simple and short as possible. A good summary includes all supporting points and the main contexts of the lengthy text which might get ignored by the readers.

Composing a summary is not everyone’s cup of tea as it requires broader vocabulary, to sum up, and shrink the lengthy posts. Therefore, writers go for using online summarizing tools that generate a summary by presenting all points in a well-structured way.

You will find modern summarizing tools online that are great choices for writers for coming up with an excellent summary regardless of text complexity and length of the article. Online technology is getting better with every passing day and not using and taking advantage of it would be bizarre.

How is a text summarizing tool useful for writing a summary?

Below, we are mentioning how useful the online summarizing tools for generating a summary for you are.

You won’t miss any important points in the content

It is not necessary to search for specific keywords when you are sure that you are using an excellent article summarizer. Text is scanned and significant details are highlighted on their own. Therefore, without worrying about whether or not you’ve overlooked anything, you’ll have a visual overview of what the material is about

It provides immediate results.

To read and comprehend a paragraph, how much time do you need to dedicate to the task? Even more effort is spent writing your own summary. You read a 500-word piece in around four minutes, right? Then the next 10 to 15 minutes will be spent drafting a short summary. All of this assumes that nothing needs re-reading.

A fine summary tool is instant in its performance. You simply paste the text into the box, hit the button ‘summarize’, and your summary appears in a fraction of a second!

You’ll get all the same important information much faster and without having to read all the text (which might contain a lot of unimportant stuff, too.

It improves your productivity and efficiency.

As a result of the prior advantage, this one has been granted for sure. The one-click summarising tool helps you to read more content.

In the case of an extensive topical search on the web, this might take hours. Read each item carefully to find out whether it contains any information you require.

When utilizing a summary generator, such work is not required. It will provide you with clear and concise information without any hassle.

Your learning process is enhanced

Learning activities are typically marked by the drafting of conclusions, reasoned statements, and summaries. Your knowledge improves when you are able to generate summaries without putting in too much work. As a final step, review your summaries to further interact with the new material and retain what you have learned.

It has become a key tool for writers

Writers need to compose a summary every time they write an article and post. No doubt, a text summarizing tool is a great help for all writers out there to compose a well-written summary.

MAIN APNI FAVOURITE HOON!

You come alone in this world and go alone from this world. People often hear this, but how many give priority to themselves? How many people practice self-love? With the increasing social media trends where pseudo impeccability is depicted, self-love has become the rarest form of love. I am no one to give any kind of sermon, I am also a human being and I know how difficult it is to practice self-love in reality, but it is really important.

Why Self love is Difficult?

CHILDHOOD TRAUMAS
Childhood is the most essential stage of life. Some have a very mesmerizing childhood but some have to face body shaming, racism, abuse, violence etc. and when you become an adult you can imagine past reflections of them and these keep on haunting you again and again.
EMBARRASSING MOMENTS
Many times you say things that sound dumb. When you realize what dumb thing you said, you start underestimating yourself. This is the step towards self-loathing.
REGRETTING
Many chances come and go, but when you miss a golden opportunity, then you keep on regretting that. You doubt your capabilities.
 YOU HAVEN’T ACHIEVED ANYTHING GREAT TILL NOW
Whatever area you entered, you haven’t achieved anything except failures which resulted in self-hatred.

How to Practice Self Love?

☆If you don’t love yourself because of those embarrassing moments which happened in front of people then you have a wrong perception. They might have forgotten that and you are still stumbling upon that. JUST REMEMBER THAT NO ONE CARES. ☆If you lost that golden chance, it’s okay. Do remember that if you lost it, something big might surely be on its way.
☆If you have faced some childhood traumas, I know that none of us can forget them and this is the reality, but you can work on yourself and whenever they will haunt you will not self loathe. Start doing things which you like, if you don’t have any hobby start doing different things and you will surely end up having one. Start exercising not because of that body shaming, exercise will surely boost up your confidence.
☆Don’t forget if you haven’t achieved anything till now that does not mean that you will not do anything in life. This may be a misconception on your side, you may have achieved much more than you think, even the little things matter in life.
Hardly any one of us can become “GEET” from “JAB WE MET ” but just stop judging yourself, this society is already enough to judge you. It is easier to say than to implement but always remember that you are worth more than you think. Just introspect yourself, talk to yourself and ALL THINGS WILL FALL IN RIGHT PLACE.

Advantages of Speaking English – Reason Why?

There are more than 6,500 languages around the world spoken by billions of people. Why close yourself off from the rest of the world by only sticking with your native language? If you don’t know which language to start with, you can’t go wrong with English. Spoken in many countries across the globe, English allows you to communicate with a large number of people.

One of the most useful languages to learn is English. 1.5 billion people are speaking English today. Across the world, English is the default choice of countries and major industries. You might even be surprised some of the countries that become more accessible to you just for learning the language. The benefits of learning English are immense and vast.

Today, we’ll explore some of the fantastic benefits you could acquire from learning English. Some might even surprise you!

English makes travel easier

English is the most generally communicated in language from one side of the planet to the other. That’s a big advantage unless your goal in life is to remain within 40 kilometers of where you were born throughout your life.

English skills get more respect

It is weird but true. We in India give more respect to those who speak in English. I don’t know the reason and I don’t like this but that’s not important. Judge people on their inner worth, not the language they speak. But, till the time everyone begins doing it, learn English so that you are not judged unfairly.

Biggest movies and books are in English

Hollywood is the biggest movie industry. Almost all prominent books in the world are either written or translated into English. English language music is huge.

Why would you want to miss out on such a huge body of fun and mind expanding stuff?

English helps the world know our culture

This is important. The world today is not about forcing people, it’s about convincing them. It’s called soft power. With our 5,000 year old culture, why should we be defensive and behave like frogs in a well? Why not study the culture and present it in front of the world in the best possible way? Didn’t Vivekanand do that? Didn’t he do it in English? Isn’t he one of the brightest torch bearers of our glorious culture?

English skills are our national advantage

Yes, and that’s no exaggeration. One of the very few areas where India beats China is the number of English speaking people. Major advantage and we don’t want to surrender it to our friends from Shaolin.

English communication gives power & influence

Knowledge is in English, knowledge is power and you need power to fight for yourself. Most of the modern day knowledge and communication tools work in English:

  • Courts, law books, websites – most of them work in English.
  • Social media works in English.
  • Mainstream media has a majorly influential English segment.

If you don’t know the language, you are denying yourself more than half the weapons.

I was trying to learn English and I was very worried about my accent. I’m sure I’ll always have it but I remember Tom Hanks said to me, “Don’t lose the accent. If you do, you’re lost.”

Antonio Banderas

Being able to speak English as a second language is a very positive addition to a person’s skill set as many careers are opened up to people who know another language, in particular, English.

Things to expect from your first counselling or therapy session

A counselling session is meant to help a person with certain mental or emotional problems and giving them advice and suggestions on how to cope up with them. Counselling is done primarily for the purpose of solving issues related to mental health . Major issues that have become common today are depression , anxiety , bipolar disorder and trauma which can even lead to an outcome as drastic as suicide.
Therapy can prove to be a very effective solution for such mental issues . There are many types of therapy such as cognitive behavioral therapy , psychoanalytic therapy , exposure therapy etc. Talking to a psychologist or doing some activities as directed by them can make changes in your overall mental and emotional health. You should choose your therapist according to your needs and convenience , for example if a girl feels more comfortable in sharing her experience with a woman then she can choose a female therapist .

When you sit for your first counselling session , there are some things which you can expect to happen . First of all , you may feel overwhelmed while sharing your experience with the therapist and it is totally normal . If you feel like crying , then you should cry . There is no need to hold back as you are sitting in the therapy to solve your problems . Giving an honest and true account of your feelings and emotions is important.

Your first session is not the only session you are going to sit for , there will be many in the coming future. So dont expect big results from your first experience . A mental issue that has developed over years or months needs time . Change will happen slowly and it will take some time to again start feeling better.

You should try sharing maximum with your therapist . Dont try to hide anything unless and until it is really something that you dont want anyone to know. There is no need to feel ashamed or judged as everyone makes mistakes . Make full use of your space and be comfortable before your start interaction . The therapist is not sitting there to judge you or punish you.

At some stage you may feel that sitting for the session was probably a mistake or you should not have done this . Remember you must have come for counselling only after feeling that there is no other option. If you feel that your therapist is not able to understand you appropriately or you dont feel that you struck a vibe or rythm with them , then you can very well change your therapist. You are not supposed to proceed if you dont feel so.

Your first session may be a little overbearing and can leave you feel light headed at the same time. You may feel guilt , remorse , anger or irritation while interacting and calm , relaxed and peaceful after the session.

Overall , your first counselling session is supposed to set you on a path to recovery from a mental issue. Dont be nervous or afraid as it is not an examination or a test . One thing that you can do to avoid being a little spontaneous during the session is to plan what you want to say and how you to say that. Planning will aid you in sharing your experience in a systematic manner . Take your time to plan and try to stick to your plan. So psych yourself up and All the very best to you for your first session !

spider web

Similarly, when you’re at your desk, take five minutes to consider potential sources of distraction and then tell your mind to ignore them. When you are studying, for example, someone may knock on your door or drop anything near you. So, before you begin studying, make the decision that these situations may occur, but that you will not pay attention to them.

Play some songs

While working or studying, listening to music might help you concentrate.According to study, employing natural sounds or white noise to mask background sounds can aid increase focus and other brain processes, even if you don’t like listening to music while you work.

To avoid being distracted, keep the music low or at a background noise.

Hyperthyroidism Awareness

It is important to remember that hyperthyroidism can occur at any age. While most may present with a rather typical constellation of symptoms, many may present with exacerbation of pre-existing conditions which may make the diagnosis initially elusive. Worsening anxiety, insomnia, fatigue, panic attacks, palpitations, hypertension or diarrhea may not initially signal that the thyroid is involved. Clinicians must have a low threshold to check thyroid function early to rule out a component of hyperthyroidism.

Once a suppressed thyrotropin (TSH) has been detected, further investigation with serum triiodothyronine (T3) and free thyroxine (free T4) can help delineate overt from subclinical disease. A thorough history of past thyroid disease, as well as current medications and supplements, can help detect any pre-existing diagnoses or exogenous sources of thyroid hormone or over supplementation with iodine. More commonly, hyperthyroidism is due to either Graves diseasetoxic multinodular goiter or toxic adenoma. Distinction between these can usually be made with the assistance of a thyroid uptake scan, TSH receptor antibody measurement, and thyroid ultrasound. An additional physical exam finding of exophthalmos can further support the diagnosis of Graves’ disease. Understanding the etiology can help guide patient expectations. A small percentage of patients with Graves’ Disease may undergo spontaneous remission after 1 to 2 years, which may prompt patients to wait before considering a definitive treatment option.

With confirmation of the diagnosis of hyperthyroidism, focus is on hormonal control with an antithyroid medication (ATM, most commonly Methimazole in the United States). This may be augmented with beta-blockade, steroids, cholestyramine or SSKI for those who are difficult to control.

Many patients may need further consideration for definitive management with either radioactive iodine ablation (RAI) or thyroidectomy. Your local resources may also influence these options, but it is critical to understand that all three treatments (ATM, RAI and thyroidectomy) are possible options. Certain patient factors and priorities may alter the preferred definitive treatment. Smaller gland size, easy to control hormones, and lack of eye symptoms are factors that may favor continued ATM management. A large goiter with compressive symptoms, difficult to control hormones requiring high dose medications/ multiple modalities, pregnancy, severe eye disease, multiple nodules within the thyroid with or without thyroid cancer, or desire for rapid and reliable hormone control may favor thyroidectomy. RAI is a good option for patients with a smaller gland size, and a desire to pursue definitive management but avoid surgery.

There are also relative contraindications for treatment options. ATMs may have serious side effects, like agranulocytosis or liver failure, which prevent further use, or may cause skin eruptions making long term use intolerable. Additionally, high dose requirements or fluctuating doses may make long term use of ATMs not reliable. Women who are pregnant, wanting to become pregnant in the next 6 months to 1 year, breast feeding or have small children in the home will want to avoid RAI. Patients with severe eye involvement, have a large goiter with compressive symptoms, or are smokers should also avoid RAI. Thyroidectomy will be a poor option for patients with multiple previous neck operations on or around the thyroid due to internal scarring, or who are high risk for general anesthesia. Additionally, if they have a history of previous gastric bypass surgery, they are higher risk for major complications from hypocalcemia/hypoparathyroidism after thyroidectomy.

To help the patient navigate these decisions, it is important to allow them the opportunity to discuss each treatment option with respective physician experts – medical management with endocrinology, RAI with endocrinology and potentially nuclear medicine as well, and thyroidectomy with the thyroid surgeon.

In summary, patients with hyperthyroidism require medical control, as well as a clear understanding of the etiology of their hyperthyroidism. Patients with Graves disease, toxic multinodular goiter and toxic adenoma have more than one treatment option, and it is important for patients to be educated and engaged in treatment decisions.

What are different types of aggressions

Researchers identify two types of aggression related to sports: instrumental aggression and hostile aggression. What is instrumental aggression?By nature, certain sports (such as football, ice hockey, etc.) have higher levels of contact between players. Thus, they inevitably include more aggression. But such violence is often within the bounds of the game. You often need to play with a certain measure of physical aggressiveness in order to win. That’s instrumental aggression.Hostile aggression, on the other hand, is violence that goes beyond the scope of the sport. Being hostile refers to “impulsive, angry aggression intended to hurt someone who has in some way provoked an individual” (Russell, 2008). One famous example of hostile aggression in sport is a 2006 World Cup football (soccer here in the U.S.) match. After being insulted by Italian athlete Marco Materazzi in the middle of the game, French player Zinedine Zidane delivered a serious headbutt to his chest, which sent him flying to the ground. Such action was in no way necessary to the game itself; it was simply a way to retaliate against the athlete. Zidane wanted to hurt his provoker as badly as possible.Hostile Aggression Among Teen AthletesIn discussing the problem of aggression, most experts are talking about the concept of hostile – not instrumental – aggression. In surveying 800 adolescent athletes playing 10 different sports all across the U.S., Shields (2005) found that 13% of students have tried to deliberately hurt an opponent at least once during a game. Seventeen percent have said something mean to an opponent. And almost 40% have tried to “get back” at another player.

Heroes Modeling Bad Behavior

Increased media attention on pro-athletes has revealed shocking displays of violence both on and off the sports field. This has an influence on young fans, who often admire and glamorize such athletes. One researcher (Smith, 1983) asked adolescent hockey players who their favorite National Hockey League (NHL) player was. He found that there was a positive correlation between skaters whose NHL hero was aggressive and the young athlete’s own play.

Aggressive Parents

But aggressive behavior isn’t only seen on TV. Often, it’s closer to home. Certain parents could be violent and aggressive with their children at home, as well as on the sports field. (One Minnesota survey found that 17% of adolescent athletes said that an adult had hit, kicked, and slapped them while participating in sports.) Experiencing such violent behavior has a mimicking effect, says researchers. See the case of Thomas Junta and Michael Costin in 2000, and what happened to their kids thereafter.

Showing Loyalty or Seeking Revenge

Moral reasoning theory suggests that some teens think aggressive behavior is not just okay, but even the right thing to do in certain circumstances. “Aggressive behavior is often…justified by players to demonstrate loyalty to teammates, and especially injured teammates, by seeking revenge particularly in competitive, body-checking leagues,” says Cusimano (2016). Hurtful insults, mean taunts, and even stares can provoke certain players, who will then retaliate by become more aggressive (Gordon Russell, 2008). Sports psychologists note that not all athletes respond to the same provocation in the same way. Personality differences, temperament, and even regional hometown (!) change the way athletes will respond to a hurtful remark. For example, Type-A teens will be more likely to get angry when they’re insulted.

Getting Too Hot

Sounds crazy, but it really is true: environmental factors like heat leads to aggression. Science even proves it. Research on weather and crime shows that acts of violence happen most during the summer. In the same vein, getting hot during a sports game can make an athlete more physically aggressive. In analyzing more than 2,300 National Football League games and matching them up with the temperatures on each day, researchers found that the hotter it was, the more aggressively teams played. They determined this conclusion based on comparing temperatures to the number of aggressive penalties teams accrued. Even when the temperature is fairly mild, though (or even cold, as in ice hockey) your teen athlete could be getting warm by all the physical activity they’re doing—running, throwing a ball, tackling, etc.—not to mention all the layers they’re wearing and the gear they’re carrying.

Biological factors

Certain teens may simply be more aggressive, naturally. Studies have shown, for example, that the level of testosterone in male athletes impacts their aggressive level. (Simpson, 2001). In one experiment, male participants with both high and low testosterone levels were given escalating shocks. The males with high hormone levels responded with more aggression than the others.  Changes in hormone levels can likewise increase or reduce aggression. During puberty, for example, which is when testosterone levels generally increase, competitive aggression increases as well.

Crowd Incitement

Many times, parents, coaches and fans encourage aggression from the sidelines. After analyzing parents’ remarks at more than 40 adolescent sports games, Meân and Kassing (2008) found that many parents and sports officials encourage a “war-like” aggression on the sports field. This winning-at-all-costs mentality (as evidenced by statements like ‘kill him!’, ‘trip him,’ “Do what you gotta do,’ let ‘em have it,”) could be trickling down to their children. These adolescents are getting the message that because it’s so important to win, playing aggressively is okay. To them, the sport transforms from “play” to “war” – because that’s what they’re hearing from the crowd.

Living Up to Expectations

They’re nervous about performing well. About 13% of parents admit they’ve angrily criticized their child’s sport performance after a game. (Shields, 2005). Oftentimes, sports have become so important to the parent, and the parent has such high expectations for performance and the winning of the game, that many children are probably “playing much more aggressively than they would if their main objective was to hang out with their friends and have fun.” Research shows that parents underestimate the pressure they place on their young athletes to succeed.

Changing the Culture: Sportsmanship First

According to a Monitoring the Future survey, 71% of adolescent boys and 68% of adolescent girls participate in school sports. With so many teen athletes playing sports, it’s important to understand the factors that can lead to hostile aggression and take any steps one can to reduce it.

For parents, this could mean being mindful of their interactions with their children. Parents who are calm and try their best to reduce angry outbursts (not just at sports games, but also at home) are more likely to produce children who will act similarly. Likewise, parents can do their best in maintaining a low-stress approach to sports so as not to pressure their young athletes. In regards to media exposure, parents can also try to limit how much violence their teens are exposed to by monitoring their TV and media consumption.

Though some factors linking to aggression (such as personality or hormone levels) are out of one’s control, youth sports officials can try to create an atmosphere where hurtful taunts, songs and chants are discouraged, and positive sportsmanship is encouraged. This might limit the number of provocations in the game and thus the number of fights between athletes. In the same vein, angry spectator violence – which is shown to have a mimicking effect on adolescents – should have appropriate consequences.

Purpose of Education?

“The purpose of education has always been to every one, in
essence, the same—to give the young the things they need in
order to develop in an orderly, sequential way into members of
society. This was the purpose of the education given to a little
aboriginal in the Australian bush before the coming of the white
man. It was the purpose of the education of youth in the golden
age of Athens. It is the purpose of education today, whether
this education goes on in a one-room school in the mountains
of Tennessee or in the most advanced, progressive school in a
radical community. But to develop into a member of society in
the Australian bush had nothing in common with developing into
a member of society in ancient Greece, and still less with what
is needed today. Any education is, in its forms and methods, an
outgrowth of the needs of the society in which it exists.”(1934)

“The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. But education which stops with efficiency may prove the greatest menace to society. The most dangerous criminal may be the man gifted with reason but no morals. … We must remember that intelligence is not enough. Intelligence plus character—that is the goal of true education.” (1948)

“The main purpose of the American school is
to provide for the fullest possible development
of each learner for living morally, creatively, and
productively in a democratic society.”(1954)

“[The purpose of education] has changed from that of producing a literate society to that of producing a learning society.”(1961)

“The one continuing purpose of education, since ancient times,
has been to bring people to as full a realization as possible of
what it is to be a human being. Other statements of educational
purpose have also been widely accepted: to develop the intellect,
to serve social needs, to contribute to the economy, to
create an effective work force, to prepare students for a job or
career, to promote a particular social or political system. These
purposes offered are undesirably limited in scope, and in some
instances they conflict with the broad purpose I have indicated;
they imply a distorted human existence. The broader humanistic
purpose includes all of them, and goes beyond them, for it seeks
to encompass all the dimensions of human experience.”(1991)

Immigrants

Majorities of publics in top migrant destination countries say immigrants strengthen their countries, according to a 2018 Pew Research Center survey of 18 countries that host half of the world’s migrants.

In 10 of the countries surveyed, majorities view immigrants as a strength rather than a burden. Among them are some of the largest migrant receiving countries in the world: the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Canada and Australia (each hosting more than 7 million immigrants in 2017).

By contrast, majorities in five countries surveyed – Hungary, Greece, South Africa, Russia and Israel – see immigrants as a burden to their countries. With the exception of Russia, these countries each have fewer than 5 million immigrants.

Meanwhile, public opinion on the impact of immigrants is divided in the Netherlands. In Italy and Poland, more say immigrants are a burden, while substantial shares in these countries do not lean one way or the other (31% and 20% respectively).

Unemployment-hindrance to development

Unemployment became a never ending war problem in front of our country .But the outbreak of covid19 make this problem more dense. Now along with the problem of unemployment the problem of disguised employment is in front of us. Unemployment means the numbers of individuals in the state are finding jobs for which they are fit, and they are willing to, but not getting that. Or simply a person is willing for a paid job or searching for one. It is a curse to society and decreases the economic growth of the country. The particular age group of unemployment is adults. The main reason for unemployment is the rapidly increasing population is one of the most affecting factors of unemployment. Slow economic growth, industrial growth is also the main reason for unemployment.
Unemployment leads to an increase in poverty and sets back the economic growth of the country. The women’s unemployment rate is higher in rural areas than in urban sectors of the country. Unemployment also misguides or makes our youth helpless to do criminal activities. The migration of people from rural to urban areas for the search of the job also affects it. As the demand for jobs is high and the number of posts is less. Unemployment is also a reason for our youth is getting addicted to drugs. Due to lack of a job, they get addicted to drugs, alcohol, and may even get into criminal activities. The government, as well as the society or we, should focus on population control and make people aware of its ill effects, long-time advantages, and ways to control which help the government to provide jobs to needy ones if there are some limited members.
Agriculture is the backbone of our economy. Agriculture in India is not developed enough to accommodate all the unemployed youth. Our agriculture is still dependent on old and traditional ways of farming. And our education should also be upgraded as it mainly focuses on practical aspects of learning, should offer the vocational course and with that indirectly it will give the job to teachers.

Mob lynching-to what extent correct?

Mob Lynching is an open punishment applied by a gather that does not have the authority to do so. Most times, lynching occurs when a group believes that a person has committed a crime, even if it has not been trialed or convicted. lynching’s practice may include public hangings, tar, and feathering, or other forms of extreme punishment or execution performed in public. Lynching differs from uncommon types of punishment because the public performs it outside the legal system. This is often handled by a group of people. Lynching is a mob justice in which ordinary people come together to terrorize or punish someone they think violates a legal, moral, and social standard. Today in our society cases of mob-lynching occur in the name of homecoming, love jihad, cow protection, and self-defense camps, the longstanding issues of communalism against the community are being expressed now as violence. The crowd is making a target of people .also many cases recorder where There is an attempt to provoke communities suffering from such attacks.

The instant “justice” of the crowd also reveals the breaking of people’s confidence in law and order. mass lynching cases are mainly caused by the spread of rumors, suspicions, or religious beliefs. If we understand the events in what order they happened then, we may consider that some were the consequences of caste-based horrors, some were because of religious beliefs, and the rest was because of false news or rumors.

No doubt we should respect religious beliefs, but what if few people kill a person based on suspicion or suspicion? But the main question is that too what extend it is justified to take law in the hands. And to do injustice with someone in the name of the justice. Now need of the time is that government itself investigate the matter and give punishment to those who are culprit.

Evil corruption

Corruption refers to a form of criminal activity or dishonesty. It refers to an evil act by an individual or a group. It includes activities like bribery or embezzlement. Most people in positions of authority are susceptible to Corruption. Corruption certainly reflects greedy and selfish behavior. Bribery is the most common method of Corruption which involves improper use of favors and gifts in exchange for personal gain. the favors include money, gifts, company shares, sexual favors, employment, entertainment, and political benefits. Also, the personal gain can be – giving preferential treatment and overlooking crime.

One important way of preventing Corruption is to give a better salary in a government job. Many government employees receive pretty low salaries. so they resort to bribery to meet their expenses. So, government employees should receive higher salaries. , high salaries would reduce their motivation and resolve to engage in bribery. By Increasing the number of workers we can curb Corruption. In many government offices, the workload is very high. This provides an opportunity to slow down the work of government employees. Consequently, these employees then indulge in bribery in return for faster delivery of work. Hence, this opportunity to bribe can be removed by bringing in more employees in government offices.

Strong laws are very important for stopping Corruption. strict punishments need to be meted out to guilty individuals. Furthermore, there should be an efficient and quick implementation of strict laws. Applying cameras in workplaces is an excellent way to prevent corruption. Above all, many individuals would refrain from indulging in Corruption due to fear of being caught. Furthermore, these individuals would have otherwise engaged in Corruption. Furthermore, the politician supports them due to the benefits they receive. Corruption is a great evil in society. This evil should be quickly eliminated from society.

Even doctors, nurses are under the agony of constant threat and tremendous work pressure. Oxygen plants are being constructed and vaccines are being produced, however, what the mind has been going through cannot be cured by steroids or vaccines.

These are some of the thoughts that haunt many of us who are infected or have lost people close to us due to COVID. Whenever we surf the internet through information pieces or even when we watch the news, we see they offer COVID helpline numbers, hospital details, and other valuable information on how to tackle COVID. In the same way, we can have a COVID Mental Health support helpline, wherein people can interact with therapists or more precisely connect to somebody who can listen and feel empathetically.

At this point advice like yoga, meditation, or “keep yourself engaged” does not work. There has to be sharing, there has to be handholding throughout the process of recovery. To heal completely from COVID or COVID implications the mind needs to be healed as well and we all have to pay attention to this

Mental Sickness

Covid-19 has shaken the entire world. Even though Major Pharma companies have developed vaccines intending to end the pandemic. we are still struggling to find an end to this pandemic. One of the issues that India faces is the delay in immunizing the population again Covid-19. The delay is partly due to overpopulation. And If the vaccines are not effective against the new variant, it needs to be redesigned to combat the new variant, prolonging the pandemic.

Due to covid, our country has to suffer Major economies struggle to cope with the health care burden as millions of infected people need hospitalization for several days, depending on the severity of the disease.

No one knows when lockdown will be enforced again to control the situation. Many are losing their families and not allowed to attend the final rites due to strict quarantine and lockdown measures. Along with these major problems This disease has seriously created mental health issues, and it may take years to recover from such mental health conditions. Governments have to set up a separate budget to manage increasing mental health issues. The freedom to move around has now been crippled by Covid-19, and most people in lockdown are confined in a small space, limiting them to have face-to-face interactions with their dear ones and friends. It has affected people from all walks of life and has led to mental health issues. It is hard to find a common solution to all as mental health issues differ from person to person. Students are the worst affected community as Many schools and colleges have resorted to online teaching, which isn’t as good as a regular session.

The digital screen has now become our portal to communicate with the outside world. Many children have lost their parents in this second wave in India and have become orphans since then. There were several appeals to the Government of India requesting to support the children who have lost their parents/guardians/adopted parents. In such a drastic situation people are feeling alone. The best thing to overcome negative thoughts is by performing regular meditation and yoga, listen to music, news, recall sweet memories, watch favorite movies, plays, and read books. Only by overcoming our negative thoughts we can overcome mental sickeness.
