Guidelines for Other Service Providers (OSPs) Liberalised

Indian Department of Telecommunication further relaxed guide lines on voice-based BPO’s(or Other Service Providers-OSPs) by removing the distinction between domestic firm and international firm.   • The location of Electronic Private Automatic Branch Exchange (EPABX) of OSP can be anywhere in the World. EPABX service of Telecom Service Provider can facilitate their EPABX at third-party data centers in India.
  • Agents of OSP located at different or far place can connect with EPABX – Centralized, of OSP and of Customer using any technology including Broadband over Wireline or Wireless.

According to the report by u.s defence, the intelligence team have not found any evidence that proves the Unknown flying objects witnessed in recent years to be an alien activity but also have no explanation regarding the phenomenon found flying unusually. The situation in which a person remains underprivileged from the basic necessities of life is called poverty. The person does not have an adequate supply of food to eat, shelter to stay, and clothes to wear. Most of the people in India are suffering from poverty. They cannot afford to pay even for a single meal a day. They sleep on the roadside and wear dirty clothes. They do not get healthy and nutritious food. Lack of education – no opportunities without education
According to UNICEF, about 25% of children in India cannot afford education. The number of children excluded from school is higher among girls than boys. Under Indian law, women and men are treated equally but in the lower social caste girls and women are considered inferior. They are dominated by their fathers, brothers and husbands. The chances of finding a living wage from employment in India is virtually hopeless without education.

Due to poverty, many parents encourage early marriages for their daughters in hopes of better lives for them.

It was 18th June, Friday morning when I read the news. Milkha Singh was no more. He had succumbed due to Covid-19 complications a few days after the passing away of his wife, Nirmal Kaur. This was a day of mourning for the entire nation, as we have lost an incredible athlete and an inspiring role model whose grit and determination defied boundaries.

But on this day, let’s look back and celebrate the journey of Milkha Singh and make sure his legacy stays immortal in the sands of time. Milkha Singh was born on  November 20, 1929, in Govindpura (now in Pakistan). He lost his parents during the partition. He then escaped to Punjab, where he stayed for some time with the family of his married sister. He was thinking of becoming a dacoit, but his friends persuaded him to get recruited for the Indian Army. During this time, in 1951, he was introduced to athletics. He was recruited by the army for special training in athletics.

Singh represented India in the 200m and 400m competitions of the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games. His lack of experience meant that he did not progress from the heat stages but a meeting with the eventual 400m champion really helped him learn newer and different techniques for racing.

In 1958, Singh set records for the 200m and 400m in the National Games of India, held at Cuttack and also won gold medals in the same events at the Asian Games. He then won a gold medal in the 400m competition at the Commonwealth Games of 1958 with a time of 46.6 seconds. This latter achievement made him the first gold medalist at the Commonwealth Games from independent India. 

Singh was persuaded by Jawaharlal Nehru to set aside his memories of the Partition era to race successfully in 1960 against Abdul Khaliq in Pakistan, where a post-race comment by the then General Ayub Khan led to him acquiring the nickname of The Flying Sikh. I am sure most of the people who have seen his movie remember this defining moment where Milkha Singh ran like the wind. It showed that talent does not recognize cast, creed, religion. It traverses all these man-made boundaries and shows the world something awe-inspiring and heart stopping. 

Singh was promoted from the rank of sepoy to junior commissioned officer in recognition of his successes in the 1958 Asian Games. He subsequently became Director of Sports in Punjab Ministry of Education a post he retired from in 1998.

Singh was awarded the Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civilian award, following his success in 1958. In 2001, he turned down an offer of the Arjuna Award from the Indian government, arguing that it was intended to recognize young sports people and not those such as him.

Milkha Singh played a very influential role in carving the name of India in all major sports events post independence. The world recognized India and the talent that this country possessed. Milkha Singh will be remembered in the history of a nation as the Flying Sikh, as the Indian who ran and left the track behind in a cloud of dust. His memory and story of courage and hard-work will always remain in our hearts and continue to inspire and motivate us.

Many people’s idea about patriarchy is that it targets women. But what is the exact definition? Patriarchy is essentially a system where women are oppressed by men. It is the differentiation of women, by not treating them as equal to men. As they say, nature created bhed, but humans created bhed-bhav. The worst examples of patriarchy is female feticide and gender-based violence.

Patriarchy is the mindset of people, it is the roots of prejudice strongly built by years of thought processes and influence. Patriarchy is taught in one way or the other in most households. A parent teaches the daughter to do all the household work, to cook and clean. And teaches the son to take responsibility and leadership. Why is it that so many women don’t even know the basics of finance? Don’t even have knowledge about something as basic as a bank account. That is because parents don’t find it important to teach their daughters about financial independence.

Girls are usually advised to take medical field, or take arts. Boys are advised to take engineering field. Isn’t this patriarchy? People assume that since women are more caring and compassionate by nature, doctors would be a good fit for them. Careers have to be decided by the women themselves.

Imagine marrying a man one barely knows for a few months. Having to shift homes, get used to the environment, the food, the work. All of this is expected by the women. Why? Because they are more ‘mature’ and can ‘tolerate’ adverse conditions which men can’t.

Getting to know the gender of the baby, which is illegal in our country. Then using abortion methods to kill the baby if she is a female. Female feticide. That’s how deep-rooted this patriarchy is. The baby doesn’t even get a chance to live. Her mere existence is defined by the norms of society, and her future is decided right from when she is in the womb of the mother.

Girls are weak. They are emotional. Being emotional does not make you weak. Wearing your emotions on your sleeve makes you stronger. These patriarchal norms are strongly engraved in the minds of people, and this overlooks logic and scientific reasoning. People blindly follow these assumptions because that is what they have been taught from the start.

The feminist movement has existed for nearly 150 years, yet, it has failed to shatter the patriarchal norms of society. Women can stand for truth, and can fight for their rights. But ultimately, all the major stronghold positions of society are unfortunately occupied by men. And men are not actively participating in this movement.

We all, as human beings on this planet, should all take a step forward to bring about this change. It’s basic rights, equality for all. There’s no negotiation or room for argument. It’s a simple, logical factor which everyone should be aware about.

Protest in Hungary against the newly passed law

The Hungarian government passed the law which bans dissemination of content in schools that promotes homosexuality and gender change. The law was made amid strong opposition from the Human Rights council and opposition parties. The law wrongly combines pedophilia with LGBT issues, which triggered hundreds of people to gather and protest in the capital to nullify the law.

The law is to fight pedophilia but it has banned LGBT information to school children. Under the amendments that was submitted to the bill, under 18 cannot be shown any content that encourages gender change or homosexuality which also applies to advertisements. The law has also listed a set of organization that can provide sex education in schools.

In Hungary, Gay marriage is not recognized and only heterosexual couples can legally adopt children. The Prime minister Viktor Orban’s government has made this social policy against LGBT people while his election is upcoming in 2022.

If there is restriction on information how will children be able to find about changes occurring in them, it will be more pressure on them and will be a hinder to find out who they are.

Members of the committee, led by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, pinned down Twitter India officials on what they felt were diversionary answers to questions about whether the US company respected Indian laws and the decision-making powers of the India office. The discussion in the committee came in the wake of Twitter delaying appointing officials to address grievances under new rules issued by the government and a row over its decision to flag certain BJP handles as “manipulated media” for tweeting about Congress’s alleged “toolkit” to defame the government. BJP’s Nishikant Dubey asked why Twitter failed to tag as “manipulated media” the recent video of a Ghaziabad man alleging assault, despite a clarification from UP police that the victim had made false claims.

International panic day

Begun as sort of a ‘mock’ holiday, this idea was put together with the intention of offering a day to shake off the natural state of panic in the lives of many people today. It is a day to sit back, relax and try to let some of that stress and panic melt away.

Although it might be a ‘fun’ little way to address it, panic is a serious topic. In fact, panic disorder is a mental health issue that may affect up to 2% of the population in certain countries. Women are more likely to succumb to panic than men, and the condition is very treatable, particularly when the person affected is armed with self-care tactics while sticking to a healthful diet.

International Panic Day has been taken on by many countries throughout the world to raise awareness of struggles with mental illness. It is meant to encourage people to slow down, relax and get the help they might need if they are, indeed, struggling with panic. The best measures, however, are preventative!
